Pyongyang, May 24 (KCNA) -- The Committee of Measures for the Compensation for Damage Done To Inhabitants In Maehyang-ri, Hwasong county of Kyonggi Province reportedly warned the U.S. forces that it would stage a stronger protest if they stage a bombing exercise again.
Denouncing the U.S. forces for taking no drastic measure to protect inhabitants from damage, the committee stated that it would occupy the target spot in a firing range together with civilians, religious organizations, students and others and thus block the bombing exercise at the cost of their lives if the U.S. forces stage a bombing exercise again.
The committee stressed that it would investigate radioactivity contamination around the firing range in Maehyang-ri in cooperation with the environment movement association, the council of doctors for the practice of humanitarianism and others.

U.S. denounced for its attitude towards revision of "status of forces agreement"

Pyongyang, May 24 (KCNA) -- The Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) of South Korea denounced the U.S. insincere attitude towards the revision of the shackling "ROK-U.S. status of forces agreement."
The MBC said: underlying the anti-U.S. sentiment of the South Korean people is the shackling and humiliating "status of forces agreement." Although any of the U.S. forces in South Korea commits crimes, the South Korean authorities cannot deal with the criminal under the "agreement."
People from all walks of life in South Korea have strongly called for negotiations with the U.S. on the issue of revising the "status of forces agreement," but the U.S. has not yet responded to it.
The MBC predicted that prospect of negotiations will not be bright.

S. Korean survivors demand speedy investigation

Pyongyang, May 24 (KCNA) -- More than 30 survivors of the GIs' massacres committed in Rogun-ri, Yongdong county, North Chungchong Province, during the last Korean War held a rally in Seoul yesterday and staged a demonstration demanding the U.S. government make apology and compensation, according to a foreign press report.
The survivors who are members of the Committee for Unveiling Truth About the Rogun-ri Massacre said that the conclusion is already in our and American veterans' testimonies and expressed anger at the U.S. forces' dragging out the investigation. They demanded the U.S. Army finish its investigation by the original central target of June 25, the 50th anniversary of the outbreak of the 1950-53 Korean War.
The survivors staged an hour long demonstration in central Seoul, chanting "U.S. government, apologize and compensate the protesters." They carried banners with similar slogans.
The South Korean authorities mobilized hundreds of policemen to crack down upon the demonstration, creating a terror-ridden atmosphere.
Earlier in the day, Jong Un Ryong and five other representatives of this committee met the U.S. ambassador and handed him a letter addressed to the U.S. president asking for a speedy probe.

Real danger of nuclear and chemical war from S. Korea

Pyongyang, May 24 (KCNA) -- It has been disclosed recently that South Korea has massively stockpiled chemical weapons and begun scrapping some of them.
In this regard Rodong Sinmun today says in a signed commentary: The United States, Japan and South Korean warmongers have conspired with each other to float the fiction that North Korea is making preparations for nuclear, biological and chemical wars against them.
However, the recent disclosure of the fact about South Korea's possession of chemical weapons proved that their assertion was a sheer sophism intended to cover up their criminal acts.
Having made the use of bio-chemical weapons in the second Korean war a fait accompli, the U.S. and the South Korean authorities have massively shipped biological and chemical weapons into South Korea from the U.S. and stepped up researches and production of those types of weapons in South Korea in real earnest since the end of the 1960s.
Japan is fully ready materially and technically to make nuclear weapons any moment if it has a will as it has massively stockpiled plutonium.
The U.S. goal is to ignite nuclear, biological and chemical wars on the Korean peninsula with Japan and South Korea as a shock brigade and, furthermore, realise its wild ambition for military domination over the neighboring countries and the Asia-Pacific region.
This is clearly evidenced by the "nuclear attack operation plan" targeted against china and the former soviet union and the U.S.-Japan secret agreement on "storing nuclear weapons in Okinawa base."
The real danger of nuclear, biological and chemical wars on the Korean peninsula comes from the south.
The U.S., Japan and South Korean authorities had better stop trumpeting about the "threat of nuclear, biological and chemical weapons" from someone.

Various functions including a performance showing workers suffering from long working hours were held at the meeting.

The publishing house is making sustained efforts to make the contents of books richer and more diverse.
The publishing house is expected to increase the number of volumes of more interesting books.

Anniversary of Kim Jong Il's work commemorated

Pyongyang, May 24 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today carries an article on the lapse of five years since General Secretary Kim Jong Il sent a letter "On Developing the Movement of Koreans In Japan Onto a New Higher Stage" to the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and Koreans in Japan on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of its formation.
In the letter he reviewed the history of 40 years covered by Chongryon and indicated a bright road for it to follow in order to put the movement of Koreans in Japan onto a new higher stage, the article says, and goes on:
He reclarified that the Juche idea, the revolutionary idea of President Kim Il Sung, is the guiding idea of Chongryon and a leading banner for the movement of Koreans in Japan.
He set forth the four important tasks to be fulfilled by Chongryon, that is, protecting democratic and national rights and interests of the compatriots, defending the socialist homeland and struggling for the prosperity and development of the country, conducting a more vigorous movement for national reunification in conformity with the present situation and tasks for national reunification and briskly conducting external propaganda and activities true to the DPRK's idea of independence, peace and friendship.
The letter serves as a banner of victory to strengthen and develop Chongryon so that it May always remain Kim Il Sung's organization of overseas compatriots and as a highly important work opening up a new era in the development of the Juche-based movement of overseas compatriots.
Chongryon officials and Korean residents in Japan have worked hard to thoroughly implement the tasks set forth in the letter over the last five years. They have firmly defended Chongryon, the precious patriotic heritage bequeathed to the republic by the President, despite the most vicious anti-DPRK and anti-Chongryon moves of the enemies at home and abroad since the appearance of Chongryon and steadily advanced the patriotic movement for the homeland and the nation.

Japan's wild ambition for military expansion overseas disclosed

Pyongyang, May 24 (KCNA) -- The Japanese authorities are seeking to realise their wild ambition for overseas expansion by force of arms at any cost by keeping the presence of u.s. Troops in Japan and strengthening military cooperation with the United States, observes Minju Joson today in a signed commentary.
    It goes on:
At a recent diet hearing the Japanese chief executive said that the "Japan-U.S. security pact" is not only for the sake of the Korean peninsula, which betrays his ulterior intention to keep U.S. forces in Japan.
The Japanese reactionaries are persistently pursuing the presence of U.S. forces in Japan under various pretexts, ignoring the world public calling for the withdrawal of the U.S. troops from South Korea and Japan for peace and stability in northeast Asia.
Japan is a war criminal state which was defeated in the last war of aggression on Asia. Its military activity overseas is prohibited by law.
However, it restored its rights of belligerency and entry into a war through the "Japan-U.S. Defence Cooperation Guidelines" and modernized military hardware for a war of overseas aggression with the backing of the U.S.
It is the black-hearted intention of the Japanese reactionaries to maintain close relations of military cooperation with the U.S. and join the U.S. forces stationed in Japan in a war of aggression overseas so as to bring their old dream of "Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere" into practice.
The Japanese reactionaries should mind that to participate in a war of overseas aggression with the backing of the U.S. is just a foolish act of precipitating their self-destruction like they jump into fire with faggot on their back.

Fascist action against representative of preparatory committee

Pyongyang, May 24 (KCNA) -- Papers here today in signed commentaries condemn the South Korean authorities for arresting Ri Tok Jun, a representative of the preparatory committee of the south side headquarters of the national ad hoc committee for probing the truth behind the GIs' mass killings.
The South Korean authorities took such a fascist action against him on charges that he attended a meeting without a "permission for contact" in violation of the "law on exchange and cooperation between the south and the north" and the "Security Law."
GIs' massacres of Koreans during the last Korean War were the most brutal crimes against humanity, Rodong Sinmun says, and goes on:
The U.S. should be severely judged by the Korean nation and history.
But the Korean nation greeted a new millennium, with crimes of the U.S. murderers left unsettled.
Our nation will certainly settle accounts with the U.S. aggressor troops which divided the country into two parts and have imposed tragic disasters and death upon the Korean people and mete out a stern judgement to the U.S.
The formation of this committee reflected the strong will of our nation and requirements of the history.
However, the South Korean authorities are harshly persecuting the south side's representative for his participation in the meeting to form this committee.
The Korean nation can never pardon such criminals.
Minju Joson says that the pro-U.S. traitors are bound to face a severe punishment when the U.S. is sternly judged by the Korean nation.
