"Commemorations" of half centenary of Korean War assailed

Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article warns the U.S. warmongers not to forget their defeat in the last Korean War.
They launched armed invasion against the young DPRK all of a sudden on June 25, 1950, to destroy it but suffered the bitterest defeat in their history.
They are going to stage various "commemorations" of the half centenary of the Korean War and continue similar events in years to come in a bid to justify their Korean War of aggression and hurl young and middle-aged Americans into a new Korean war of aggression, the article notes, and goes on:
It is true that the U.S. aggression troops are mercenaries but money is not enough to mobilize them to the war of aggression.
Americans are reluctant to send their sons to the war of aggression on Korea.
The U.S. allies, too, are turning their backs to the U.S., half believing and half suspecting its aggressive policy toward the DPRK. "Commemorations" of the half centenary of the Korean War are a brainchild of the U.S. warhawks to cope with this situation.
The "commemorations" will never change the truth behind their provocation of the Korean War nor help their aggression troops drop war-phobia.
All wars fought by the U.S. took place in alien lands and, therefore, not a single shell dropped on the U.S. territory as was the case with the Korean War.
The U.S. imperialists intend to undertake the second Korean war as before.
But such war method will not work on the DPRK.
If they dare provoke the second Korean war, the DPRK will attack everywhere the U.S. aggression troops are stationed and wipe them out.
The U.S. warhawks are well advised to abandon their absurd intention to instill war fever into GIs and civilians and undertake the new Korean war supported by them. Their projected "commemorations" will only precipitate their doomsday.

U.S. to deploy tactical hi-energy laser weapon in Korean peninsula

Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- The U.S. military is reportedly scheming to deploy the tactical hi-energy laser weapon in the Korean peninsula.
The U.S. Army developed in cooperation with Israel this weapon, which is said to intercept rockets and short-range missiles, and test-fired it in New Mexico of the U.S. on June 6.
Boasting of its successful test-fire, the U.S. military is now examining the planned deployment of the weapon in the area near the demilitarized zone on the Korean peninsula allegedly to "deter the North Korean forces," Jiji reported.
This proves that the U.S. is persistently seeking its design to stifle the DPRK by "strength."

Japanese reactionaries warned against their moves for reinvasion

Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA)-- Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary assails the Japanese reactionaries for channeling everything into their moves to reconquer Korea after making it the primary target of their aggression overseas.
Japan is getting ever more frantic in its moves to redeploy its units to be favorable for its reinvasion of Korea and in its war drills, while equipping the "Self-Defence Forces" with sophisticated weapons, the commentary notes, and goes on:
Their loudmouthed "declaration on the renouncement of war" is nothing but a charade intended to create the impression that they are working for "peace," not for war.
Their much talk about "renouncement of war" just reminds one of a wolf pretending to be a lamb.
The Japanese reactionaries are dreaming of war, not peace, and watching for a chance to set out on reconquest of Korea.
"Renouncement of war" on their lips is no more than a subterfuge to win popularity and achieve their political design.
The DPRK can never remain a passive onlooker to their moves for reinvasion but have no option but to take a corresponding measure.
The Japanese reactionaries should bear in mind that their moves for reconquest will entail irretrievable consequences.

Absurd assertion of Japan

Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- Minju Joson today comments on Japan's assertion that the settlement of the "suspected kidnapping" is the key to the improvement of DPRK-Japan relations.
The assertion is a preposterous sophism of no value, the news analyst says, and goes on:
The reason why the issue of DPRK-Japan relations has not yet been resolved lies in that Japan has not made an apology and compensation for the past misfortune and sufferings upon the Korean people but continued its hostile policy toward the DPRK.
Lurking behind the absurd assertion of Japan is an ulterior intention to contort the character of DPRK-Japan relations improvement so as to shirk the responsibility for the settlement of the past by all means.
It is not merely to vent the past national wrath and grudge that the DPRK demands Japan's settlement of the past.
It is necessary for the DPRK and Japan to achieve a lasting peace and harmony as near and good neighbors.
That is why the DPRK raises Japan's settlement of the past as the hardcore matter of DPRK-Japan relations improvement.
Japan should not resort to such a smear sophism as the "suspected kidnapping" but make an honest redress for the past, which is its moral obligations and the requirement of the times. It will be a right conduct to relieve Japan from a moral and physical ruin.

Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- Roberto Gabriele, general secretary of the central committee of the Italian Movement For Peace and Socialism, signed the signature paper supporting the three-point charter of Korea's reunification on June 5 on behalf of the party.
