Kim Il Sung's exploits lauded

Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) -- Solo Norbert Andriamorasata, national chairman of the Christian Democratic Union of Madagascar, issued a press statement on July 17 to commemorate the sixth death anniversary of the President Kim Il Sung.
In the statement titled "We recall the exploits of President Kim Il Sung who built a people's country" he said:
Kim Il Sung was the first in history to advance the theory on building people-centred socialism and successfully put it into practice.
What is important among the feats performed by him while building Korean socialism centred on the popular masses is that he made the popular masses genuine masters of society, he saw to it that everything was made to serve the people and he built up the driving force of revolution by firmly uniting the masses around the party.
Korean socialism built by Kim Il Sung all his life is now being cemented as firm as a rock under the wise guidance of general secretary Kim Jong Il, the statement stressed.

Struggle against Japan's moves to grab Tok Islet called for

Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article calls upon the Korean people to frustrate the Japanese reactionaries' moves to grab Tok Islet, a prelude to their reinvasion of Korea.
The article assails the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan for claiming in its 2000-year "diplomatic bluebook" that Tok Islet is their "proper territory." This is a grave infringement upon the dignity and sovereignty of the Korean nation, the article says, and goes on:
Tok Islet has been part of Korea's territory since olden times.
According to historical materials and documents of Korea and Japan, Koreans discovered Tok Islet before 500 A.D. and have since used this as a fishing center.
A state measure was taken to bring Tok Islet under the jurisdiction of Uljin Prefecture, Kangwon Province in 512 A.D.
The Korean and Japanese geography books "Korean geography" and "Korea coastal pilot," etc. serve as evidence proving Tok Islet belongs to Korea.
The Japanese reactionaries once again laid bare their true colors as savage plunderers who stoop to nothing to achieve their design for territorial expansion when they raised this claim.
Japan's aim to grab Tok Islet is to loot natural resources abundant in the area surrounding the islet and build a military springboard on it from which to launch reinvasion of Korea.
The Japanese reactionaries' moves to grab Tok Islet have reached a very grave stage.
Recently the Japanese government took an administrative measure to apply Japanese census register to Tok Islet.
The three services of the Japan "Self-Defence Forces" secretly staged an "exercise of taking over Tok Islet" in Iojima recently.
They seek to let Japanese settle on the islet with their family registers and deploy "SDF" there under the pretext of "protecting" them.
The Japanese militarists' comeback to Tok Islet is near at hand.
Japan is keen on a war, not peace and watching for a chance for reinvasion of Korea.
The Korean people will never pardon the Japanese reactionaries' moves to grab Tok Islet, part of their inviolable territory.
The Japanese reactionaries should clearly understand the will of the Korean people and drop their absurd dream of grabbing Tok Islet.

Slogans put up by WPK

Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) -- The Worker's Party of Korea put forward slogans in every period and at every stage of revolutionary development to powerfully encourage the popular masses in the revolution and construction.
The revolutionary slogans have always become a banner of victory as they most correctly reflected the desire and demand of the popular masses and clearly indicated a correct orientation and target of struggle.
After the liberation of the country the party put forward the slogans "Factories to the workers" and "Land to the tillers ". They played a great role in carrying out the nationalization of the key industries and agrarian reform as they fully reflected the desire of the workers and peasants at that time.
In that period the party set out such slogans as "Let's greet the first spring in liberated Korea with increased production and don't let even an inch of land lie idle " to consolidate the success of the agrarian reform and lead all the democratic reforms to victory.
The slogans "Everything for the victory of the war ", "Let us defend every inch of the fatherland to the last drop of our blood " and "The rear is also the front " encouraged the whole army and all people to defend the country during the Fatherland Liberation War.
The slogans "Everything for the postwar rehabilitation and development of the national economy to strengthen our democratic base ", "Dash forward at the speed of Chollima " and "one for all and all for one " Became one of the main factors of accelerating the postwar rehabilitation and construction and the socialist industrialization.
The WPK laid down such slogans as "Let us meet the requirements of Juche in ideology, technology and culture ", "Let us produce, study and live as the anti-Japanese guerrillas did ", "Let us live our own way " and "Let us powerfully accelerate the general march of socialism in the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance and fortitude " to push forward socialist construction to victory without any twist and turn.
In recent years the party put forth the slogans "Follow up the 'arduous march' with a cheerful advance" and "Forwards for the forced march for final victory " under which the Korean people have made decisive breakthrough towards building a powerful nation.
This year the party laid down the slogan "Glorify this year, the WPK's 55th anniversary, with signal victory in the crucible of greatly increased activity of chollima " which powerfully encourages the Korean people in their dynamic drive.

Anniversary of Cuban people's July 26 armed uprising observed

Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) -- Papers here today dedicate a signed article to the 47th anniversary of the July 26 armed uprising of the Cuban people.
Bullet-marks still left on the wall of the Moncada barracks clearly tell the people that the struggle of the Cuban people for freedom, independence and socialism was crowned with victory through an armed struggle, the article notes, and continues:
The Cuban people still remember the gun report at the Moncada barracks, which ushered in the dawn of socialism, though many years have passed since then.
Cuba is now engaged in the anti-imperialist struggle without gun-firing.
The Cuban people are firmly defending socialism under the leadership of the communist party of Cuba headed by Fidel Castro Ruz.
They are making successes in the socialist economic construction, overcoming difficulties despite the imperialists' persistent economic blockade.
The Korean people firmly believe that the Cuban people who are cementing the fortress of socialism as firm as a rock in the spirit of Moncada, will surely emerge victorious.
Minju Joson says nothing can block the Cuban people struggling to safeguard their motherland, revolution and socialism in the revolutionary spirit of Moncada.

Unpardonable act against implementation of north-south joint declaration flayed

Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA)-- The South Korean Police Agency was reported to have threatened on July 23 to "arrest and investigate those people whose 'unlicensed' contact with the north on the occasion of August 15 liberation day is detected by it and stringently deal with those behind them."
It claimed that a typical example of the "unlicensed contact" with the north was the south side delegate's participation in the meeting of working officials held in Beijing early in May for the formation of a nationwide special committee for investigation into the truth behind GIs' mass killings.
This betrays its intention to crack down upon the south headquarters of the "nationwide special committee for investigation" which is spearheading the campaign to expose and condemn massacres of civilians by the U.S. imperialist aggressor troops in South Korea on charges of being a "backstage wire-puller."
The South Korean police authorities took the step to block any contact with the north and clamp down upon any movement for it at a time when all the fellow countrymen in the north, south and overseas are coming out to implement the historic declaration after supporting and hailing it. This is an unpardonable criminal act of putting a brake on the implementation of the declaration and challenging the drive to reunify the country independently by the concerted efforts of our nation.
This step is part of the anti-reunification, anti-national moves taken by those separatist forces at home and abroad displeased with our national unity and reunification because they are much upset by the developments today when the declaration has entered the phase of its full implementation and the anti-U.S. movement for independence is mounting in South Korea higher than ever before in the run-up to the 55th anniversary of Korea's liberation which will fall on August 15.
All the Korean people desirous of national unity and reunification bitterly denounce the anachronistic step taken by the South Korean police authorities, still pursuing north-south confrontation.
The historic north-south joint declaration cannot be implemented by sincere efforts of one party alone. It can bear good fruits only when both the north and the south and all the fellow countrymen unite and come out for reunification and patriotism.
If the South Korean police authorities treat those South Korean people who aspire after reunification as criminals and block their actions for reunification and patriotism against outside forces on charges of failure to get "approval," this act cannot be construed otherwise than an anti-national, anti-reunification act as it hinders the implementation of the declaration and runs counter to the process for improved north-south relations.
They must immediately withdraw their step of obstructing the implementation of the north-south joint declaration and refrain from cracking down upon the patriotic movement of South Korean people from all walks of life for reunification by linking them with the DPRK.
They must know that the entire nation and the world will follow their future attitude.
If they persistently take the road of confrontation, going against aspirations of all the fellow countrymen for great unity and reunification of the nation and the trend of the times, they will be wholly responsible for all consequences to be entailed by it.
