Punishment to gangsters called for
Pyongyang, October 9 (KCNA) -- More than 100 gangsters of the South Korean "Konkuk Society" and other anti-communist organizations held a "meeting" in Seoul on October 5 at which they staged such disturbing rowdyism as daring provoke the headquarters of our revolution and wantonly challenging the June 15 north-south joint declaration.
Die-hard anti-communist, anti-reunification elements swaggered about in the heart of Seoul in broad daylight to sling mud at the system in the north, quite unhindered by the South Korean authorities, at a time when the historic north-south joint declaration is being implemented in real earnest and the world is closely following the improvement of the north-south relations.
This cannot be construed otherwise than a premeditated and deliberate criminal move to bring the north-south relations back to those before the publication of the June 15 joint declaration.
This rowdyism is by no means an accidental case perpetrated by a few wicked anti-communist elements.
This clearly proves to what extent the resistance of the South Korean ultra-right conservative forces against the historic change in the north and south has gone.
Thanks to the implementation of the north-south joint declaration the north-south relations are developing into those of reconciliation and cooperation and the South Korean people came to gradually have a new understanding and view on the DPRK.
The anti-communist right-wing forces, who have survived by fanning up confrontation and division depending on foreign forces are now thrown into a hopeless quandary by this irresistible trend of the history and making desperate efforts to restore their past position and prolong their remaining days.
They have been bent on all sorts of wrongs, availing themselves of every opportunity to launch a malignant diatribe intended to incite confrontation and distrust in a bid to bar the mindset in South Korea from turning in favour of alliance and reconciliation with the north and reunification.
This notwithstanding, we have proved our true intention and purpose in practice, exercising patience toward their smear campaign.
The grave provocation committed again by anti-communist gangsters through blatant rowdyism, quite unhindered, with the tacit connivance of the authorities, compels the north to strongly doubt the future of the June 15 north-south joint declaration.
The historical lesson of the north-south relations goes to clearly prove that without liquidating anti-communist, anti-reunification confrontation elements it is impossible to implement any agreement between the north and the south or achieve the country's reunification, the cherished desire of the nation.
Those who dare defame the headquarters of our revolution and work hard to stem the trend of national reunification should face severe judgement by history and the nation.
If the South Korean authorities has a true will to implement the June 15 north-south joint declaration, they should mercilessly punish the anti-communist gangsters, the anti-reunification criminals.
We will closely watch the South Korean authorities' future attitude.

"Red Mountain Range" published
Pyongyang, October 9 (KCNA) -- The Literature and Art Press Group published the novel "Red Mountain Range," a serial of the cycle of novels "Immortal History," created by the April 15 Writing Group on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the Worker's Party of Korea. It was written by Ri Jong Ryol with the period from the fall of 1939 to the first half of the 1940s for a setting.
The novel impressively depicts the tradition of revolutionary faith and will of the Korean revolutionaries established in the bloody anti-Japanese battles thanks to the revolutionary activities conducted by the President Kim Il Sung during that period.
The story is set against the backdrop of the situation at a time when wrong views were expressed by flunkeyists and some others on suspending the armed struggle and going underground to preserve revolutionary forces, yielding to the Japanese imperialists' brutal torture and appeasement and deceptive campaign against the revolutionaries and patriots who were arrested on charges of involvement in the "Hyesan incident" sparked by them to destroy all the organizations of the association for the restoration of the fatherland.
It gives an impressive depiction of the historical fact that under the situation the President advanced an operational plan to stage a large-unit circling operation and victoriously commanded the arduous Dunhua expedition, the Hongqihe Battle and so on, frustrating the enemy's "punitive campaign" with his outstanding and preeminent tactics and arousing again the once weakened national revolutionary forces to an anti-Japanese war.
It tells how the President led the guerrillas to struggle with strong revolutionary faith and will overcoming whatever hardship and ordeal and what profound trust and fatherly love he showed for all of them.
Through this the novel deals with the truth that when one remains true to his revolutionary faith and conscience, he is immortal and if he gives them up, he will only meet disgrace and a miserable end.
Paean to great party
Pyongyang, October 9 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today carries an article headlined "Paean to the great party" on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the Worker's Party of Korea.
The author of the article says that the unconverted long-term prisoners are very much grateful to the maternal party for saving their destiny and placing them on the height of glory and happiness, and that the party is a huge tree of ideology and faith and they are its small leaves.
The article continues:
As the unconverted long-term prisoners were party members, they could defend their ideology and faith. And as the Worker's Party of Korea has defended socialist ideology, faith and banner, they could lead a life of faith with the party.
They are veteran party members who have shared the same destiny with the party from the first days of its foundation. Their hearts, soul and lives were given by the WPK.
What they were afraid of was not physical death but the possibility to stain their noble political life given by the party. They lived every moment not to keep their moribund physical life but to glorify the honor of being party members true to the pledge they made when they joined the party.
They are the unconverted long-term prisoners, the WPK members, who are noblest and purest.
As they were party members and given hearts and soul by the party, they could become mental victors over physical death, and men strong in their idea and faith.

Rodong Sinmun on proposal for founding DFRK
Pyongyang, October 9 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today dedicates an article to the 20th anniversary of advancement of the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo (DFRK) by the President Kim Il Sung.
The article says:
The keynote of the proposal expounded by Kim Il Sung in his report to the sixth congress of the Worker's Party of Korea held on October 10, Juche 69 (1980) is to reunify the country by founding a federal republic through the establishment of a unified national government on condition that the north and the south recognize and tolerate each other's ideas and systems, a government in which the two sides are represented on an equal footing and under which they exercise regional autonomy with equal rights and duties.
The proposal is a most fair and aboveboard, reasonable and realistic reunification proposal as it calls for reunifying the country by federal formula based on one nation, one state, two systems and two governments.
The proposal most correctly reflects the nature of the reunification issue and the specific reality of Korea among other things. This is based on the original idea and feasibility that different ideas and systems may exist in one country. The proposal reflects the interests of the north and south most equitably.
The proposal defines it as the principle of organizing and constituting a federal state to establish a unified national government in which the north and the south are represented on an equal footing and as the function of the federal state to respect and defend the interests of the whole nation.
The proposal also calls for applying the principle of impartiality to the operation of the federal state.
It also conforms with the interests of neighboring countries as well as all other countries of the world and with the desire of the world peace-loving peoples.
The proposal is based on one nation, one state, two systems and two governments so that it may provide legal and institutional guarantee for the existence of the two systems.
The regional governments in the north and the south shall pursue their own policies under the guidance of the federal government so that neighboring countries may maintain the present relations with the north and the south in many aspects as they are. This is in full accordance with the interests of those countries.
The peace-loving federal state shall preserve the peace-loving traditions of the Korean nation, give no threat of aggression to any country and not be used by any country for aggression. It shall not build up any armed force aimed at aggression and mass destruction but take it as an immutable guideline of its activity to make the Korean peninsula a peace zone and denuclearized zone.
The proposal is a patriotic charter of reunification and a bright blueprint which will bring a reunified country to the Korean nation and guarantee its rosy future. In order to materialize the proposal it is imperative to maintain the principle of national sovereignty, achieve the great unity of the whole nation, remove the threat of war from the Korean peninsula and ensure a durable peace.
