Kim Jong Il sees performance given by KPA merited chorus

   Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il saw a performance given by the KPA merited chorus in celebration of the 55th anniversary of the WPK together with the commanding officers of the columns of the military parade held to mark the day.
    When Kim Jong Il appeared in the theatre, the audience broke into thunderous cheers of "hurrah " and warmly welcomed him loudly shouting slogans "Let us devotedly fight for the respected Supreme Commander comrade Kim Jong Il ", "Human bombs " and "Devoted defence "
    Kim Jong Il sent warm salutation to the enthusiastically cheering officers and heartily congratulated them on the WPK's birthday.
    The program of the performance staged by the merited chorus honored with "Kim Il Sung Order" included "the Leader Will Always Be With Us", "Song of General Kim Jong Il," "Long Live the Worker's Party of Korea", "the Marshal Is Great Defender" and "We Have Emerged Victorious with the Party" and "Let Us Hold High Red Flag" and other chorus numbers.
    The performers loudly sang of the proud feats performed by the heroic Korean People's Army and people in the crucible of the 55 year-long struggle under the leadership of the glorious Worker's Party of Korea, the organizer and guide of all victories of the Korean people.
    At the end of the performance Kim Jong Il congratulated them on their successful performance and waved to the enthusiastically cheering servicemen.
    Kim Jong Il highly appreciated the success made by artistes of the chorus in the performance, greatly satisfied with their wonderful presentation representing the strong faith and will of Korea and the revolutionary spirit of soldiers.
    Seeing the performance together with the supreme commander were chief of the KPA general staff Kim Yong Chun, Minister of People's Armed Forces Kim Il Chol, KPA generals Ri Myong Su, Hyon Chol Hae and Pak Jae Gyong.


Letter to Kim Jong Il from Japanese women in DPRK

    Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il received a letter from the Japanese women in the DPRK, who visited Japan as the 3rd home-visiting group under the agreement of the Red Cross organizations of the DPRK and Japan.
    They wrote in the letter that through their home-visit they cherished more deeply the honor of holding in high esteem Kim Jong Il, the most prominent and brilliant commander in the present era, who enjoys absolute praise from all people and the pride of being members of the family led by him.
    The letter went on:
    During the home-visit period we grasped once again the philosophy that the land where one was just born and grew up and his ancestors lie buried cannot be called homeland but it is the land to which we have entrusted our destiny and where under your care a worthy life is provided to us and glorified.
    Indeed, you are our homeland, the lodestar of national reunification and an architect of a powerful nation.
    This time we keenly felt that we cannot live even a moment without you and we should come back to the motherland at any cost even though we were thrown to the tip of the world.
    The Japanese women in the letter expressed their firm resolution to remain loyal and dutiful to Kim Jong Il to the last moment of their lives in order to repay his fatherly loving care.


Egyptian party leaders send floral baskets to DPRK embassy in Cairo

   Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) -- Youssef Amin Wali, general secretary of the National Democratic Party who is deputy prime minister and Minister of Agriculture of Egypt, and Rifaat Es-said, general secretary of the National Progressive Unionist Party of Egypt, sent floral baskets to the DPRK Ambassy in Cairo on Oct. 9 on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the Worker's Party of Korea.
    The secretary general of the Egypt-Korea Friendship Association and other personages also sent floral baskets to the DPRK embassy on the same day.


Cambodian party delegation visits Korean embassy

   Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) -- A delegation of the Khmer Democratic Party of Cambodia headed by its chairman Uk Phuri, paid a congratulatory visit to the Korean embassy in Phnom Penh on the occasion of the third anniversary of the election of the great leader Kim Jong Il as General Secretary of the Worker's Party of Korea (WPK) and the 55th anniversary of the WPK.
    The chairman laid a floral basket before the portraits of the great leaders President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il and said that all the members of his party warmly congratulated the WPK on the auspicious holiday.
    He sincerely wished Kim Jong Il a long life in good health and the WPK greater success in its great and noble work to build an independent, peaceful and prosperous reunified state.


Kim Jong Il sends thanks to servicepersons, citizens and school youth and children

   Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il highly appreciated successful celebrations of the 55th anniversary of the Worker's Party of Korea and sent thanks to officers and men of the people's army, citizens and school youth and children here for ensuring them.
    Grand celebration functions held in Pyongyang proved to be a grand political festival as it once again fully demonstrated at home and abroad the heroic spirit of Juche Korea, clearly proved the invincible cause of the WPK and fully displayed revolutionary traits of the society in which the leader, the party, the army and the people are united as a harmonious whole.
    KPA officers and men, citizens from all walks of life in Pyongyang and school youth and children ensured military and civilian parades, an evening gala and a torchlight procession and a hundred thousand mass gymnastic display and an art performance "Ever-victorious Worker's Party of Korea" and other functions as most significant political events.

Anniversary of proposal for founding DFRK marked in Peru

    Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) -- A meeting was held in Lima on Oct. 2 under the sponsorship of the Peruvian committee for supporting the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea to mark the 20th anniversary of the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo (DFRK) put forward by the President Kim Il Sung.
    Tany Valer, chairman of the committee and leader of the New Left Movement of Peru, recalled in his speech at the meeting that Kim Il Sung put forward the proposal at the 6th congress of the Worker's Party of Korea on Oct. 10, 1980.
    The proposal is the most fair and aboveboard and realistic one for reunification as it reflects realities on the Korean peninsula and wishes of the Korean nation, he said, adding:
    Korea will surely be reunified by federal formula, as desired by the Korean people and the world peace-loving people.
    Angel Castro Lavarello, chairman of the Peru-Korea Institute of Culture and Friendship, said the proposal for founding the DFRK based on the conception of one nation, one state, two systems and two governments should be realized to achieve Korea's reunification at an early date.
    He stressed that the Korean people will surely achieve the reunification of the country by this formula under the wise guidance of the great leader Kim Jong Il.


Minister of State of Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Germany and his party here

    Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) -- Ludger Volmer, Minister of State of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Germany, and his party arrived here today.

    Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) -- A government delegation of Benin led by Antoine Idji Kolawole, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, arrived here today.
    It was greeted at the airport by Kung Sok Ung, vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, and officials concerned.


Lao party and state delegation here

    Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) -- A party and state delegation of the Lao People's Democratic Republic led by Samane Vignaket, member of the political bureau of the central committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and president of the National Assembly of Laos, arrived here today to pay an official good-will visit to the DPRK at the invitation of the Central Committee of the Worker's Party of Korea and the presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK.
    It was met at the airport by Yang Hyong Sop, alternate member of the political bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and vice-president of the presidium of the SPA, other officials concerned and Lao ambassador to the DPRK Khamkheng Sayakeo.
    A ceremony was held at the airport in welcome of the delegation.


Representatives of political parties, organizations and personages of south side

   Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) -- Representatives of political parties and organizations and individual personages of the south side flew back today after participating in celebrations of the 55th anniversary of the Worker's Party of Korea.
    They were seen off at the airport by Kim Ryong Song, vice-chairman of the National Reconciliation Council, and officials concerned.
