Talks between FMs of DPRK and Benin held
Pyongyang, October 15 (KCNA) -- Talks between Paek Nam Sun, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK, and Antoine Idji Kolawole, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Benin, were held at the Mansudae Assembly Hall yesterday.
At the talks both sides informed each other of the situation of their countries and exchanged their views on the issue of further developing the bilateral relations of friendship and a series of matters of mutual concern.
The talks proceeded in a friendly atmosphere.
DPRK government gives reception for Benin delegation
Pyongyang, October 15 (KCNA) -- The DPRK government hosted a reception yesterday in honor of the Benin government delegation.
Foreign Minister Paek Nam Sun in his speech said that the Korean visit of the Benin government delegation would mark an important occasion in strengthening and developing anew the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries and further deepening friendly feelings and understanding between the two peoples.
The relations between the DPRK and Benin based on the deep friendship between the great leader President Kim Il Sung and respected President Mathieu Kerekou are steadily developing on good terms, he noted, and stressed:
We will as ever make positive efforts to put the traditional friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries on a new higher stage.
Head of the delegation Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Antoine Idji Kolawole in his speech said that Kim Il Sung who is so deeply revered by the Korean people is the great leader boundlessly venerated by the Benin people for his great exploits.
He said the delegation is pleased to know that the great Kim Jong Il is wisely leading the country as a successor to the cause of Kim Il Sung.
He expressed the belief that the Korean people would surely reunify the country independently and peacefully and build a powerful nation.
Talks between DPRK and Lao party and state delegations
Pyongyang, October 15 (KCNA) -- Talks between the DPRK and Lao party and state delegations were held at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on October 14.
At the talks the two sides informed each other of the situation in their countries and exchanged views on issues of mutual concern including the matter of further consolidating and developing the friendly and cooperative relations between the parties, governments and peoples of the two countries and reached a full consensus of views on them.
Present at the talks from the DPRK side were Yang Hyong Sop, alternate member of the political bureau of the Central Committee of the Worker's Party of Korea and vice-president of the presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, Choe Jin Su, vice department director of the C.C., the WPK Pak Kil Yon, vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Choe Hui Jong, deputy to the Supreme People's Assembly, and from the Lao side members of the delegation headed by Samane Vignaket, member of the political bureau of the central committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and president of the National Assembly of Laos, and Lao ambassador to the DPRK Khamkheng Sayakeo.

Reception given for Lao party and state delegation
Pyongyang, October 15 (KCNA) -- The Central Committee of the Worker's Party of Korea and the presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea gave a reception at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on Saturday in honor of the Lao party and state delegation on an official good-will visit to the DPRK.
Yang Hyong Sop, alternate member of the political bureau of the C.C., WPK and vice-president of the presidium of the SPA, in his speech said that the Korea visit of the Lao party and state delegation was of greater significance as it took place at a time all the people of the DPRK celebrated the 55th anniversary of the glorious WPK as a grand festival of victors.
Referring to the fact that the two countries established good friendly and cooperative relations through a struggle for anti-imperialist independence and socialism and have strengthened and developed them, Yang Hyong Sop noted that the WPK and the government of the republic would make positive efforts to steadily consolidate and develop the traditional friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries, which the great leader Kim Il Sung provided and developed together with respected Kaysone Phomvihane, in the interests of the socialist cause in the new century too.
The head of the delegation Samane Vignaket, member of the political bureau of the central committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and president of the National Assembly of Laos, in his speech, expressed thanks for the warm, cordial and comradely welcome accorded to his delegation, on behalf of the Lao party and state delegation.
Noting that both sides at the talks discussed the issues of further expanding and developing the good traditional relations between the two countries, he said that his delegation was greatly satisfied with the talks and highly appreciated them.
He stressed that the party, state and people of Laos would make positive efforts to steadily develop the traditional friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries, two parties and two peoples which were provided by respected Kaysone Phomvihane of the Lao people and President Kim Il Sung, the great leader of the Korean people.
Kim Jong Il receives medal of honorary citizen
Pyongyang, October 15 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il received a medal of honorary citizen from the Georgetown City Council of Guyana.
A ceremony was held on October 9 to award the medal to Kim Jong Il.
The medal and certificate of the honorary citizen were handed to the DPRK ambassador to Guyana by the Mayor of Georgetown, who is leader of the Good Green Guyana, at the ceremony.
The certificate reads:
"On the occasion of the 3rd anniversary of his election as General Secretary of the Worker's Party of Korea and its 55th anniversary the mayor of Georgetown and its city council members have the pleasure to award the medal of honorary citizen of Georgetown to he Kim Jong Il, the great leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, in high recognition of the immortal exploits performed by him for the strengthening and development of the WPK, the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea, prosperity of the country and happiness of the Korean people".
A letter to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the ceremony.
Peruvian diploma awarded to Kim Jong Il
Pyongyang, October 15 (KCNA) -- The Los Olivos City Council of Peru decided to award a diploma to General Secretary Kim Jong Il on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the Worker's Party of Korea.
The mayor of the city paid a congratulatory visit to the DPRK embassy in Peru on October 5 and handed the diploma to the ambassador.
Cambodian King sends floral basket to DPRK embassy
Pyongyang, October 15 (KCNA) -- Norodom Sihanouk, King of Cambodia, sent a basket of flowers to the DPRK embassy in Phnom Penh on the occasion of the 55th birthday of the Worker's Party of Korea.
A royal ministry delegation led by deputy prime minister Kong Sam Ol paid a congratulatory visit to the embassy on October 9 and laid the basket before the portraits of the President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il.
Written on the ribbons hanging from the basket were letters reading "congratulations on the 55th birthday of the Worker's Party of Korea. Norodom Sihanouk, King of Cambodia."
Conveying esteemed King's congratulations to Kim Jong Il, the outstanding leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Kong Sam Ol said:
Marshal Kim Jong Il, who is the prominent successor to Generalissimo Kim Il Sung, the sun of the nation, is making tireless efforts to turn Korea into an invincible socialist country of Juche developed in all fields, a true paradise of the people.
WPK praised
Pyongyang, October 15 (KCNA) -- Boris Petkov, president of the executive council of the c.c., the Communist Party of Bulgaria (Marxists), made public a statement titled "the Worker's Party of Korea is an invincible revolutionary party" on October 5 on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the WPK.
In the statement he said that among many political parties of the world the WPK is the most authoritative and dignified party because its leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il have qualities as great men and leadership abilities no other statesman in the world can match.
The years covered by the WPK is a history of victory and glory, he said, extending warmest congratulations to it on its 55th birthday.
The general secretary of the All-India Freedom Fighters Successor Organization said in a statement released on the same day that the respected Kim Jong Il is the teacher and father of the people who takes warm care of all of them.
The relationship between the leader and the people in the DPRK is the unbreakable ties of kinship based on the absolute trust and love, he said, adding:
Thanks to this unity the Korean people could reliably defend the socialist system chosen by them.
