The WPK's 55th anniversary was a grand festival of socialist victors who powerfully demonstrated the indomitable spirit and the might of the single-hearted unity of the Korean people which have grown stronger than ever before under the army-first revolutionary leadership of the respected Kim Jong Il, the editorial says, and goes on:
Through the celebrations the Korean People's Army and people renewed their firm pledge to glorify the WPK as a party of the great Kim Il Sung, always holding him in high esteem as the eternal leader of the party and the revolution. They also cherished more deeply the immovable faith that the way indicated by Kim Jong Il and led by the WPK is the most just one and the cause of building a powerful socialist nation is sure to win.
In order to speed up the historic advance for the building of a powerful nation, all the party members, servicepersons and people should, first of all, remain unfailingly loyal to his army-first revolutionary leadership.
They should glorify forever the immortal exploits he has performed in his army-first revolutionary leadership by leading the historic "arduous march" and the forced march and ushering in a new era of prosperity and development as the eternal assets of the party and the revolution.
The editorial underscores the need to implement the line of attaching great importance to the ideology, army and science and technology and thus increase in every way the politico- ideological might of the revolutionary ranks and the combat capability of the people's army and develop the economy into a viable and totally independent one based on advanced science and technology.
It further says:
The revolutionary spirit of soldiers and the Kanggye spirit created by Kim Jong Il represent the spirit in the present era of building a powerful nation.
"Let's always be cheerful although our path is thorny " this is a slogan of struggle and optimism for our army and people who glorified the honor of being socialist victors under his leadership.
We should build better the streets and villages, factories and workplaces to be suited to socialism, a powerful nation, loudly singing the song of revolution, the song of struggle.
