U.S. assertion about "threat from North Korea" refuted

Pyongyang, January 30 (KCNA) -- Papers here today in signed commentaries lambaste the U.S. Department of Defense for taking issue with the DPRK in its "2001 report on national defense" submitted to the congress recently. In the "report" the U.S. Department of defense raised a hue and cry over "military threat from North Korea" and disclosed its intention to tighten the "U.S.-Japan alliance" allegedly to cope with it and get actively involved in "guaranteeing security" in East Asia.
Rodong Sinmun dismisses this as sophism intended to hide the U.S. true aim to stay in this region and maintain a military edge there in a bid to put aside other western countries and go unchallenged in the scramble for gaining interests and establish a political and military domination there.
The United States is working hard to threaten and stifle the DPRK, calling for "joint actions" and "strengthened cooperation system" with Japan, the paper notes, and goes on:
Due to those moves the relationship of hostility and confrontation between the DPRK and the U.S. remains unimproved.
It is the U.S. that disturbs peace and security in the Asia-Pacific region.
The United States has not abandoned its scenario for a second Korean war.
Having chosen the Korean peninsula as the next target of their operation after the Balkan crisis the U.S. warhawks are keen to hurl huge armed forces more than 140 times those involved during the crisis to carry out that scenario.
Included there are U.S. forces stationed in East Asia.
As seen above, the U.S. is the principal harasser of peace and security on the Korean peninsula and in northeast Asia.
Minju Joson says the DPRK will not remain a passive onlooker to the U.S. hatching up a plot to stifle the DPRK, its dialogue partner, by force of arms while conducting a dialogue with it.

King of Cambodia supports Korean people's cause of reunification

Pyongyang, January 30 (KCNA) -- The royal government and people of Cambodia will, in the future, too, fully support the Korean people's just cause of achieving the peaceful reunification of Korea under the wise guidance of marshal Kim Jong Il, a great man. Norodom Sihanouk, King of Cambodia, said this when meeting on Jan. 25 with the delegation of the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea led by vice-chairman of the SPA Jang Chol which was participating in the meeting of the "Asian Parliamentary Association for Peace" held in Phnom Penh.
He noted that the people and the government of Cambodia and he would always remember President Kim Il Sung, father of the Korean nation, who rendered sincerest support and encouragement, both material and moral, to the Cambodian people in their struggle for national liberation and for the defence of the country's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He heartily congratulated Kim Jong Il on the brilliant exploits and successes made in the work to achieve the country's progress and prosperity and carry forward and accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche started by Kim Il Sung and in the work to expand DPRK's foreign relations.

KCNA on Ishihara's provocative outbursts

Pyongyang, January 30 (KCNA) -- A crow can not be whiter for often washing. Tokyo metropolitan governor Ishihara, ultra right-wing fascist fanatic, at an open seminar of the Davos meeting held in Switzerland on Jan. 26 did not bother to attack other countries.
He laid bare before the world Japan's unchangeable true nature by overstating the issue of suspected "kidnapping of Japanese" and letting loose the provocative outburst that "it is necessary to sink operation ships by missile attacks." This was part of his renewed anti-DPRK diatribe.
He is a political libertine who can be seen only in the Japanese political arena as he is a figure typical of the Japanese ultra right-wing reactionary group characterized by its militarist and ultra-nationalist way of thinking.
It was shortly ago that he took the world by surprise by threatening to "destroy" or "suppress" someone.
He whipped up war hysteria in the international arena again this time. This can not be construed otherwise than a deep-seated desperate effort to challenge the times and history to the last.
Ishihara's hooliganism at the international meeting was by no means limited to his personal conduct but reflects the Japanese right-wing reactionary forces' wild ambition to revive militarism and ultra-nationalism.
What is serious is that such a guy as Ishihara is still allowed to strut as an official politician and his provocative utterances and behaviours are overlooked in Japan and a political environment is created for him to expand the theatre of his activities to the international arena though the world has entered the new century.
All these go to clearly prove that Japan is not likely to be a member of the international community in the new century, either.
Those wild remarks of Ishihara swimming against the trend of history only increase the international community's awareness of the Japanese reactionaries' moves to revive militarism and heighten its vigilance against Japan keen on overseas expansion.

Stockbreeding makes progress

Pyongyang, January 30 (KCNA) -- The DPRK is channelling great efforts into the development of stockbreeding. Pig farms recently commissioned in Taehongdan county, Ryanggang Province, have gone into operation.
The annual production capacity of each farm having about ten buildings is 100 or 50 tons. even their floors, walls and troughs are heated to raise pigs on a scientific and technical basis despite the cold in the highland.
All pigsties are equipped with self-controlled troughs.
The farms also have excellent facilities for the production of liquid manure as well as a well-regulated sanitary and anti-epidemic system.
Among the recently built stockbreeding centres are the Chicken Factory No.112, the Hwangju Chicken Factory, the Ostrich Farm, the Songam Myonggi Cattle Farm where production is kept at a high rate.
All production processes such as feed processing and supply, production of meat and eggs, hatching and chick breeding as well as temperature, humidity and lighting regulation are computerized.
People in other parts of the country are building similar farms, drawing on the experience gained by those centres.
