Preparatory committee of Korean residents in China inaugurated
Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- A preparatory committee of the General Association of Koreans in China was inaugurated on march 20 to commemorate Sun's Day, the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.
Yang Yong Dong, chairman of the association, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

Juche idea study group formed in Democratic Congo
Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- An inaugural meeting was held on March 27 to form a group for the study of the Juche idea of Kinshasa University in Democratic Congo.
Kamwiziku Octave, chairman of the national committee for the study of the Juche idea in Demoratic Congo, speaking at the meeting, referred to the justness, truth and vitality of the Juche idea.
Chairman and vice-chairman of the group were elected at the meeting.
A letter to leader Kim Jong Il was adopted there.
U.S. anachronistic policy towards DPRK denounced
Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- Voices denouncing the U.S. policy towards the DPRK are growing louder day by day.
The good green Guyana in a statement issued on March 22 said that the DPRK has made all efforts to implement the north-south joint declaration and improve relations with the U.S. But the new U.S. administration, ignoring the commitment made by the former administration, has aggravated the situation on the Korean peninsula, the statement said.
Saying that the U.S. policy of strength towards the DPRK is an unpardonable challenge to the desire and wishes of the world people to see lasting peace on the Korean peninsula and an end to the division of Korea, it urged the U.S. administration to rectify its policy.
M. M. Verma, director of the Indian center for the U.N. studies, in a statement on march 24 said that recently the new U.S. administration is talking about an "engagement policy" and a "hard line."

The new U.S. administration's attitude is contrary to the intention and interests of all the Korean people and the desire of the peace-loving people of the world.
The new U.S. administration should drop its anachronistic policy towards the DPRK immediately.
Over 180 cases of U.S. aerial espionage in March
Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- The U.S. imperialists committed over 180 cases of aerial espionage against the DPRK in March, according to a military source.
Involved in them were strategic and tactical reconnaissance planes and commanding planes with various missions deployed in their overseas bases and South Korea.
Such aerial espionage against the DPRK is getting more frequent against the backdrop of the present U.S. ruling quarters' call for a hardline policy towards the DPRK.
S. Korean students opposed to increase of registration fee
Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- More than 1,000 students under the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon) held a rally in Seoul on march 30 to secure educational finance against the authorities' plan for the increase of registration fee, according to Yonhap News from Seoul.
Earlier, hanchongryon had a press conference at Seoul National University at which students demanded the "'government' immediately stop the plan for the increase of registration fee higher than the rise of prices and secure educational finance."
Students at Hanyang University have been on a sit-in strike for several days after occupying the main building, offices of a vice-president and the director general of the university against the hike of registration fee on March 27.
Those at Yonsei University, launching a sit-in strike, staged a demonstration at the campus on March 30 to denounce the authorities' plan for the increase of registration fee.
Mass rally held in S. Korea
Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- A mass rally was held at Jongmyo park in Seoul on March 31 with the attendance of unionists affiliated to 35 organizations of the South Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, farmers, the poor and students, over 10,000 in all, according to Seoul-based Radio No. 1.
The participants demanded the guarantee of right to existence, saying that workers are roaming streets after being fired due to restructuring based on neo-liberalism.
They urged the authorities to immediately cancel their plan to raise insurance.
At the end of the rally they marched towards Myongdong Cathedral.
