Japan's new armed forces deployment assailed
Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary denounces the Japanese reactionaries for deploying the newly-organized operational units and military equipment in the major bases to invade Korea.
A flying corps made up of "F-2" fighters, which Japan developed as support fighters of the next generation, was formally commissioned on march 27.
The submarine "Makishio" newly built at the Kobe shipyard of the Mitsubishi heavy industry was inducted into the Japan maritime "Self-Defence Force" (SDF) on March 29 to join the submarine combat unit.
And the newly-built mine-sweeper "Naoshima" was inducted into a unit of mine-sweepers, deployed in the Sasebo base, close to the Korean peninsula.
These frantic military movements in Japan targeted at the Korean peninsula are closely linked with the U.S. imperialists' moves to stifle the DPRK, the commentary notes, and goes on:
The headquarters of a mine-sweepers' detachment of the U.S. navy was set up in Sasebo this year. Having organized an amphibious fleet with amphibious assault ships and mine-sweepers, the U.S. imperialists are busy staging with the SDF exercises aimed to explore sea routes leading to the coast of the DPRK and carry out landing on it.
The SDFf built high-performance pursuit ships under the pretext of coping with the infiltration of what it called "operation ships" and organized "special guards" and deployed them in various bases close to the East Sea of Korea. This is aimed to spark a military conflict under the pretence of pursuing those ships and give the green light to reinvasion.
Japan's arms buildup and war preparations pose a grave threat to the peace and security in this region.
Japan's attempt to unleash a war of reinvasion will only invite disasters.
