Saying that Kim Jong Il is a benevolent father of the Korean residents in Japan and school youth and children who created and tended the great flower garden of national education along with Chongryon with loving care, it extended the highest glory and warmest thanks to him.
U.S. hard line policy towards DPRK under fire
Pyongyang, April 21 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary assails remarks made by the commander of the U.S.-South Korea combined forces at a meeting of the U.S. Senate armed services committee.
There he let loose provocative outbursts that "Threat from North Korea is more serious than last year" and "It has become more potential" and so on.
The anti-DPRK diatribe staged by the U.S. warhawks at the meeting through their brass hat in South Korea is aimed to highlight the "threat" from the DPRK as extremely serious and drastically increase the military expenditure under that pretext in a bid to step up its moves to establish the "National Missile Defence" system and escalate arms buildup in South Korea and other Asian-Pacific countries and justify its hostile and hard line policy towards the DPRK, the commentary says, and goes on:
The present U.S. ruling quarters are desperately pursuing their hard line policy towards the DPRK to stifle it under the pretext of "untransparency" of the DPRK, thus blocking inter-Korean reconciliation and derailing the process for improved relations between the DPRK and the U.S. whoever objectively assesses the situation on the Korean peninsula can easily find that a serious threat comes from the U.S., not from the DPRK.
As the U.S. continues posing a grave threat to the DPRK, pulling it up under absurd pretexts, the DPRK is left with no option but to take counter-measures.
The U.S. is well advised to ponder over in what position it will find itself if the DPRK will take the toughest counter-measure.
The U.S. will have to pay for hurting the self-respect and dignity of the DPRK.
Japan's moves for overseas aggression slammed
Pyongyang, April 21 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today carries a signed article denouncing the Japanese reactionaries for working hard to realize their ambition for overseas aggression.
It has been disclosed at a recent meeting of the closing accounts committee of the house of councillors of Japan that the Japanese Ground "Self-Defence Force" (GSDF) worked out a secret war scenario which designated imaginary "enemy states".
According to this confidential document of the GSDF titled "vision of research into 'way of anti-personnel combat,'" the GSDF already worked out in 1997 the "long-term defence vision," a top-secret war scenario, which designated neighbouring countries as imaginary "enemy states".
Japan has become more undisguised in its war preparations for overseas aggression in a foolish bid to achieve the old dream of "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere" in the new century at any cost, the article observes, and says:
Japan is examining "legislations on emergency" in a bid to adopt them in the near future and tightening the Japan-U.S. military alliance.
Japan's moves to modernize arms and equipment of the GSDF have become more pronounced as evidenced by the formal deployment of submarine Makishio, the formation of a new "special security force" in the maritime SDF and the completion of the work to fit seven high-speed patrol boats and two large patrol ships with helicopters with special steel sheets.
The DPRK is made the first target of Japan's overseas aggression.
This time Japan deployed in the Misawa base f-2 support fighters capable of promptly infiltrating into the boundary of the DPRK. This is a dangerous military step taken by the Japanese reactionaries to carry out the plan for bombing the socalled "missile base" in the DPRK after examining it long ago.
The Japanese militarist forces are emerging as dangerous aggression forces as they are openly stepping up the preparations for overseas aggression after working out even the top-secret war scenario.
If the Japanese reactionaries are persistently opting for reinvasion of Korea, it will only lead them to destruction.

The book consists of 6 chapters, each chapter carrying such materials as figures, events, organizations and anecdotes to verify the main contents.
Working as a member of the consultative council of former South Korean politicians in the north for the promotion of peaceful reunification, he wrote the book with facts and materials he experienced by himself.

Leader Kim Jong Il worked with workers of the plant from the latter part of April to early May, Juche 50 (1961). In this period he put forward the original idea of taking care of equipment and set a noble example through his energectic activities, thus making a new history of mass management of equipment as required by the socialist system.
A message of thanks to the workers, technicians and officials of the plant from the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea was conveyed by hong song nam, premier of the cabinet, at the meeting.
The message said that the workers and officials of the plant set a good example in managing equipment and lit the torch to start a model machine movement of loyalty for emulating lathe no. 26 under the leadership of the wpk and thus greatly contributed to bringing about a new turn in the management of equipment in all fields and units of the national economy.
Ryom Sun Gil, chairman of the central committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, said in his report at the meeting that the model machine movement initiated by Kim Jong Il was an immortal exploit performed by him as he led the masses to accelerate socialist construction by bringing about collective innovations in taking care of equipment as masters and steadily strengthen independent national economy and increase production potential and thereby paved a wide avenue for fully demonstrating the advantages of the Korean-style socialist economic system.
Thanks to the rapid progress of the model machine movement of loyalty for emulating lathe no. 26 in every field and at every unit of the national economy, the title of the model machine for emulating lathe no.26 went to over 1,150,000 machines, the title of unit of model machine for emulating lathe no. 26 to more than 109,000 workteams and workshops and over 8,800 factories and co-op farms and the title of "factory honored with the prize of model machine for emulating lathe no.26" to over 900 units, a clear proof of the validity and vitality of the movement, the reporter stressed.

U.S. policy of confrontation with DPRK assailed
Pyongyang, April 21 (KCNA) -- Patrick Paulov, director of the international department of the Communist Party-KPML(R) in Sweden, released a statement captioned "Bush pursues confrontation with North Korea" to the party's organ Proletaren no. 15.
Bush shut overnight the door of dialogue between the DPRK and the United States that began to open during the Clinton administration and is pressing South Korea to follow the U.S., instead of supporting the dialogue between the north and south of Korea, the statement said, and went on:
Bush undisguisedly declared that no. 1 enemy of the U.S. is North Korea. He has no intention to have dialogue with North Korea.
It urged the U.S. to drop its policy of confrontation with the DPRK.
Dangerous war exercise against DPRK assailed
Pyongyang, April 21 (KCNA) -- A U.S.-South Korea joint military manoeuvre was launched in South Korea on April 20. huge U.S. forces are being hurled into South Korea from Japan and the pacific under the signboard of "reception, staging, onward movement and integration."
Minju Joson today in a commentary terms the drill started by the U.S. imperialists in South Korea with over 10,000 U.S. troops involved under the signboard of a joint military exercise a Sabre-rattling aimed to seize the DPRK by force of arms.
The commentary continues:
The U.S. imperialists' DPRK policy is designed to bring the DPRK to its knees by force of arms. Their war rehearsal now under way under the simulated conditions of "crisis on the Korean peninsula" is a product of this policy.
The ulterior aim of the U.S. imperialists is to strain the situation on the Korean peninsula to an extreme pitch of tension by staging war exercises with the mobilization of huge aggression forces in South Korea under the pretext of imaginary "crisis" and chill the Korean nation's desire for independent reunification and, furthermore, provoke a war to conquer the DPRK.
The DPRK will not remain a passive on-looker to the war gamble of the U.S. imperialists.
The DPRK is closely watching the moves of the U.S. and South Korean warmaniacs to ignite a war.
