Anti-U.S. resistance called for

Pyongyang, May 13 (KCNA) -- The South Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon) and the south headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification (Pomchonghakryon) issued statements on May 3 and 5 denouncing the United States for citing again the DPRK as a "terrorism-sponsor" and declaring its will to push the "Missile Defence" system (MD), according to news reports. Hanchongryon said in a statement that one million students would resolutely struggle against the U.S. keen to escalate the tensions to hamper the implementation of the June 15 South-North Joint Declaration.
The statement demanded the U.S. delist the north as a "terrorism-sponsor," drop its attempt to build the MD aimed to harass world peace and peace on the Korean peninsula, stop its interference in South Korea's internal affairs and its pressure upon it to purchase U.S.-made arms and withdraw its forces from South Korea.
The statement also urged the South Korean "government" to decisively reject its participation in the MD and actively come out to achieve national reunification through south-north cooperation.
The south headquarters of Pomchonghakryon noted in a statement Bush should understand that his policy of hegemony backed by military strength is little short of terrorism against the world peace-loving people and stop obstructing the implementation of the June 15 Joint Declaration through war moves against the north and withdraw the U.S. forces from South Korea.
If Bush continues seeking a war, he will not be able to escape strong denunciation from the 70 million Koreans and the world peace-loving people but will meet a bitter defeat in face of the Korean nation's strong anti-U.S. resistance.

U.S. hostile policy towards DPRK denounced

Pyongyang, May 13 (KCNA) -- The world community denounces the U.S. for its hostile policy towards the DPRK. The Bangladesh workers federation in a statement recalled that the U.S. administration's hostile policy towards the DPRK and military provocation have recently become evermore undisguised.
The statement demanded the U.S. administration withdraw all its armed forces from South Korea and called on the South Korean authorities not to cooperate with the U.S. imperialists in their policy against peace, security and reunification of the Korean peninsula.
Jean Smith, chairman of the Guyana Agricultural Workers Union, in a statement said that if the U.S. persists in its anachronistic hostile policy towards the DPRK despite the warnings of all the Korean people and other peace-loving people of the world, it will be more strongly cursed and denounced for the policy.
Dennis Glasgow, national chairman of the Youth and Students' Movement of Guyana and chairman of the Guyana-DPRK Friendship Association, in a statement said the U.S. anachronistic reckless acts, in essence, prove that the U.S. is not pleased with efforts to achieve the independent reunification of Korea but aims to destroy the socialist system in the DPRK. The U.S. is well advised to properly know about the demands of the times and its opponent.

Japan's apology called for

Pyongyang, May 13 (KCNA) -- The Latin American Institute of the Juche Idea and the Costa Rican Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification released a joint statement on May 4 denouncing Japan's distortion of history. The statement condemned the Japanese government for distorting in the history books to be distributed to the young Japanese the crimes Japan committed by forcing slavery on the Korean people and looting natural resources and cultural treasures of Korea after invading it.
    The statement continued:
It is an unbearable insult to the Asian people that the Japanese government paints the barbarous Pacific War provoked by it as a war for the "liberation" of Asia.
One can not tamper with history as it pleases.
The Japanese government should bear all the legal and moral responsibilities for its criminal past and apologize to the people of Korea and other Asian countries for it.

U.S. and S. Korean authorities hit for arms buildup

Pyongyang, May 13 (KCNA) -- The spokesman for the National Democratic Front of South Korea (NDFSK) issued a statement on may 10 to denounce the South Korean authorities for having recently stepped up reckless arms buildup to stifle the DPRK in cooperation with the U.S., Seoul-based Radio Voice of National Salvation said. Some time ago the present "government" authorities officially asked the U.S. to sell three latest-type standard missile launchers "MK41" and their parts worth hundreds of millions of dollars, which is a gross violation of the June 15 South-North Joint Declaration, perfidy to the fellow countrymen and a green light to confrontation and war, the statement says, and goes on:
Under the signboard of the "Mid-Term National Defence Plan" the present authorities have undisguisedly pushed ahead with the purchase of the latest-type fighter planes, attack helicopters, aegis-class destroyers, patriot missiles and shaped a "national defense" budget for this year a thousand billion won bigger than last year.
They are hell-bent on the purchase of lethal weapons of the latest-type, turning their face away from the movement for inter-Korean reconcilation, unity, peace and independent reunification. they seek in this to create an atmosphere for showdown and war, aggravate the situation at any cost, block the implementation of the joint declaration, join the U.S. in setting up the "Missile Defense" system targeted against the DPRK and isolate and stifle the fellow countrymen in conspiracy with outsiders.
The present authorities should stop at once the arms buildup, reject outside forces and come out to achieve peace and peaceful reunification of the country by the concerted efforts of the nation, well aware that their involvement in the U.S. MD would only bring them to destruction and death, the statement said.
It demands the U.S. renounce at once its moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK, noting that while pulling up the north over "its missile issue" the U.S. allowed the South Korean authorities to produce and purchase missiles and rendered every possible support to them and is pushing them to confrontation and war, obstructing the implementation of the June 15 Joint Declaration.

U.S. moves against peace and security assailed

Pyongyang, May 13 (KCNA) -- President Bush officially announced that the United States would establish the "Missile Defense" system to "protect" itself and its allies from "rogue states." This announcement was made on May 1 when he told students of the U.S. National Defense University. Commenting on it, Rodong Sinmun today says this decision of the Bush administration has fully revealed its true colors as a nuclear maniac and wrecker of peace.
The way for global peace is for the U.S. to realize nuclear disarmament, not to establish the "MD," the commentary points out, and goes on:
The U.S. "MD" moves are, in essence, aimed to militarily contain independent countries, big powers in particular, and hold world supremacy.
The United States brands as "dangerous states" or "rogue states" those countries which are opposed to its intervention and highhanded practices, maintaining their independent stand. And it argues that the establishment of "MD" is needed to check "threat" from such countries.
But, in fact, the most dangerous and biggest rogue state is the U.S. seeking to stifle legitimate, sovereign states by force.
It has also asserted that the ABM treaty should be scrapped for the establishment of "MD." this is an expression of the strong-arm and hegemonistic policy pursued by the warlike U.S.
It is very dangerous that the U.S. is persistently pushing ahead with MD, considering it to be the "best way" its for world supremacy.
Such move, however, is as good as an act of tightening the noose around its own neck.
We will take a strong countermeasure if the U.S. deploys MD under the pretext of "threat" from the DPRK.
Our countermeasure will not be bound to anything and we will not care about arms race.
The U.S. should cool down its missile hysteria, squarely seeing the gravity of the developments.
