"June 15 Joint Declaration is a landmark of national reunification," etc. and a photo exhibition related to the summit, distribute video tapes introducing the reality of the DPRK and stage a function of singing reunification songs.

U.S. moves for MD assailed

Pyongyang, May 26 (KCNA) -- The central committee of the National Democratic Front of South Korea on May 19 issued a statement condemning the united states for pushing forward the establishment of the "Missile Defense" system on the pretext of a "threat" from the DPRK, Seoul-based radio Voice of National Salvation reported. The MD is aimed to make a nuclear preemptive strike at North Korea, which the U.S. considers as an obstruction to carrying out the U.S. strategy for world supremacy, exterminate the Korean nation, monopolize nuclear missiles and thus contain and bring under its control big powers, establish hegemonism and bring huge profits to its military industry complexes, the statement said, and went on:
Considering the Korean peninsula as an ignition point for a global nuclear war, the united states designated the East Sea of Korea as the first test ground for MD and is working hard to deploy two aegis ships fitted with 30 interceptor missiles of the latest type.
The Korean nation, who was forced to suffer from the disastrous June 25 war by the U.S., is now exposed to the danger of nuclear disasters.
The Korean people should not allow themselves to fall victim to the U.S.
The U.S. must stop at once its anachronistic moves to establish MD against humanity and pull its lethal weapons and forces out of South Korea without delay.
The present South Korean authorities must act with discretion, clearly mindful that if they "cooperate" the U.S. in its aggressive MD, it will meet only a miserable death.

U.S. preparations for another Korean war assailed

Pyongyang, May 26 (KCNA) -- U.S. bellicose forces are scheming to create brigades as a task force to be hurled into the Korean front. Assailing this, Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary says:
The United States will reportedly organize two combat brigades by next year to be promptly hurled into the Korean front in case of "emergency" on the Korean peninsula.
Equipped with new type armoured vehicles of high maneuverability and ultra modern commanding and control means, the brigades will perform the role of a task force in the Korean War. The force is to be hurled into the Korean front within four days in the event of the outbreak of a war in Korea.
This clearly proves that the U.S. is getting its aggression troops fully ready for the war after making the event a fait accompli.
The main thrust of the U.S. imperialists' preparations for this war is to increase the maneuverability and fire power to maximize their forces' capability in the war. That is why they have directed particular efforts to strengthening their troops around the Korean peninsula and their air and naval task forces, in particular.
On the basis of its calculation that a rapid deployment of reinforcements would exert a strong influence on the outcome of a war, the U.S. is keen to settle this issue. the projected creation of new combat brigades of high maneuverability and attack capability is to serve this purpose.
The DPRK is left with no option but to take every military counter-measure, given the U.S. imperialists' persistent moves to provoke a new Korean war at any cost.
If they provoke a Korean war, it will only drive them to an abyss of ruin. The U.S. is well-advised to behave with discretion, deeply mindful of the consequences to be entailed by the new Korean war of aggression.

U.S. urged to withdraw its forces from S. Korea forthwith

Pyongyang, May 26 (KCNA) -- A high-ranking official of the Bush administration recently asserted that "North Korean forces deployed along the military demarcation line should be reduced" before the resumption of the DPRK-U.S. talks. In this regard Minju Joson today in a signed commentary observes:
This reflects the wrong attitude and stand of the bush administration towards the DPRK-U.S. dialogue.
It is quite unreasonable in any respect for the united states to put up any precondition for the resumption of the DPRK-U.S. dialogue.
As far as the issue of forces cutdown on the Korean peninsula is concerned, the most urgent issue to be settled is the withdrawal of the U.S. troops from South Korea.
When the U.S. troops get out of South Korea, the issue of troop reduction on the peninsula will find a smooth solution in the course of the reunification of the north and the south by federal formula.
The Bush administration, however, is only insisting on the DPRK's "reduction of its conventional forces," not uttering even a word about the withdrawal of the U.S. troops from South Korea.
It is doing so not because of any interest in the troop cutdown on the peninsula but in pursuance of its ulterior aim.
The administration seeks to justify the U.S. forces' presence in South Korea with the insistence on the DPRK's "conventional forces cutback and, furthermore, completely disarm the DPRK and stifle it.
The DPRK can not remain a passive onlooker to the prevailing situation.
It is free to have its own option.
The Bush administration's sinister move to stifle the DPRK compels it to make full preparations to counter the move.
The administration is well advised to swim with the trend of the times and withdraw the U.S. troops from South Korea before talking about the DPRK's "conventional forces cutback."
