Unconditional and immediate pullout of U.S. forces demanded

Pyongyang, July 28 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the National Democratic Front of South Korea (NDFSK) held that the united states should draw a due lesson from its disastrous defeat in the 50s in the last century, abandon its ambition for invasion of the north, replace the armistice agreement with a peace one and unconditionally and immediately withdraw its aggression forces from this land, Seoul-based radio Voice of National Salvation said. He said this in a statement issued on July 27 on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.
He noted that the arrogant U.S. imperialists who ignited the June 25 War for invading the north mobilized all means of aggression and applied all methods of killing but they yielded to the Korean nation on July 27, 1953, the third year of the war.
The U.S. is still running wild to realize its ambition to stifle the north, he said, and went on:
There is no force on earth to overpower the powerful military force of the north led by the peerlessly great man and the might of the singlehearted unity of the people in the north closely united around the leader as one.
Our people all out in the nationwide struggle to realize the reunification of the country independently by the concerted efforts of the Korean nation under the banner of the June 15 Joint Declaration will never pardon the U.S. imperialist aggressors, the chieftain of aggression, plunder, division and war.
The NSDSK, together with all the people who value the sovereignty of the nation, will drive out the U.S. imperialist aggression forces from this land and bring about a free and peaceful new world free from domination, subjugation, division and war without fail.

Day of victory in war marked in DPRK

On July 27 48 years ago the Korean people defeated the U.S. imperialists, who boasted of being the "strongest" in the world, for the first time in history. Multifarious functions were held in the DPRK on this day.
An evening gala of youth and students in Pyongyang was held at Kim Il Sung square on July 27.
Its participants fully manifested the revolutionary zeal of the youth and students to turn out to defend the country and build a powerful socialist nation under the army-first leadership of Kim Jong Il.
That day similar evening galas took place in provinces, cities and counties.
Art performances were given at the Pyongyang theatre and the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre in celebration of the day.

U.S. urged not to forget historical lesson

Pyongyang, July 28 (KCNA) -- The Korean People's Army will mercilessly wipe out any enemy invading even 0.001 mm of the territory of the DPRK and it is its mettle not to allow anyone to infringe upon the dignity and the sovereignty of the Korean people, says rodong sinmun today in an article contributed by KPA colonel Pak Jong Chan. The KPA is always ready to deal merciless blows to the aggressors because it has inherited the revolutionary mettle of the generals of Mt. Paektu, the article says, and goes on: This mettle of the people's army stems from its soldiers' burning hatred and firm pledge to take revenge upon the imperialists.
The Korean people had to undergo two wars in one century, the tragedy of national division and difficulties and trials due to the U.S. and Japanese imperialists.
The KPA's mettle to deal merciless blows to imperialist aggressors is manifested in its stand to react to the enemies' hard line with a super hardline position.
It is the mettle of the people's army to go unchallenged in confrontation with any formidable enemy.
The U.S. imperialists' hardline policy will not work on the KPA.
It is the KPA's pluck and gut to react to enemies' hard line with the toughest stand and return artillery fire for rifle fire.
its mettle is also displayed in meeting the enemies' challenge and shattering their moves for aggression with arms.
The KPA does not say empty words and its strike is merciless.
If the U.S. imperialists dare attack the DPRK, oblivious of the historical lesson, the KPA will display to the full its military capability which has been built up under the leadership of Kim Jong Il and wipe out enemies to the last man.

Powell's projected tour of S. Korea protested

Pyongyang, July 28 (KCNA) -- The joint measure committee for checking the "Missile Defense" system and realizing peace held a press conference on July 25 as regards U.S. Secretary of State Powell's projected visit to South Korea at which it declared its opposition to the U.S. pressure upon South Korea to join in the MD and buy U.S.-made weapons, Seoul-based Yonhap News reported. Saying that Powell will come to South Korea in the capacity of a special envoy to convey the U.S. administration's order to sell and deploy weapons worth 13 trillion won in South Korea and turn the north into a testing ground for the MD, the organization urged the South Korean authorities to officially declare South Korea's non-participation in the MD.
It decided to adopt letters of protest to the U.S. and the South Korean authorities to the effect that the MD is obstructive to the peaceful reunification of the Korean peninsula, hold a rally denouncing his tour of South Korea and stage a demonstration, a cyber demonstration, etc. before and after his visit.

Stop to suppression of pro-reunification patriotic organizations called for

Pyongyang, July 28 (KCNA) -- The South Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon) and other pro-reunification patriotic movement organizations are demanding their legalization, denouncing the authorities for intensifying the suppression of pro-reunification patriotic forces. Hanchongryon issued a statement at a press conference in protest against the authorities' decision to define the 9th-term hanchongryon as an "enemy-benefitting organization."
Expressing once again resentment at the authorities who defined hanchongryon as an "enemy-benefitting organization" again in a bid to suppress students, going against the trend of the times and history, it demanded the withdrawal of the definition and legalization of free activities of the students.
It also held a press conference on July 20 with an open interview of all its deputies with the director of the "national police office" as a momentum. recalling that the police authorities defined it as an "enemy-benefitting organization" by invoking the "Security Law" and threatened to throw police dragnet to deputies, Hanchongryon denounced this as an anti-reunification, anti-national criminal act.
It demanded the legalization of Hanchongryon and an immediate withdrawal of a step for investigation into its 9th-term deputies.
The south headquarters of the national alliance for the country's reunification in a statement demanding the abolition of the "Security Law" stressed that the law should not be revised but abolished as it was rejected by the times and the definition of the organizations of the pro-reunification patriotic movement as "enemy-benefitting organizations" should be immediately withdrawn.
Activities are now brisk to express support and solidarity with their struggle.
The solidarity for the implementation of the south-north joint declaration and the reunification solidarity for the implementation of the June 15 South-North Joint Declaration and peace on the Korean peninsula in a statement said that the anti-reunification forces are making desperate efforts while brandishing the sword called the "Security Law", leftover of the cold war era, but all the pro-reunification patriotic forces will vigorously advance along the road of national reunification chosen by the 70 million-strong nation.

Imperialists urged to drop viewpoint and methods of Cold War era

Pyongyang, July 28 (KCNA) -- Leftover of the cold war still remains in the 21st century because the imperialists are clinging to the viewpoint and methods of the old era, says Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article. Noting that the viewpoint and methods of the old era are based on the strength-is-everything conception, the article says that the way of thinking and method to dominate other countries and oppress them with strength is prompted by the imperialists' aggressive nature and their ambition for domination.
Imperialists' persistence in such viewpoint and methods will only precipitate their self-destruction as they are reactionary ones going against the trend of the history, the article says, and continues:
It is the desire and task common to humankind to build an independent, new world.
To this end, the policy of strength should be dropped and such arbitrary practices and acts of ordering and dictating other countries should not be tolerated in the international relations.
It is the main trend of history for humankind to aspire after global independence and it can never change.
The imperialist forces' old viewpoint and methods to stem this trend of history are, therefore, rebuffed and they only precipitate their doomsday.
These viewpoint and methods diametrically run counter to the requirements of the world progressive people. Their struggle against the imperialists' old viewpoint and methods is now mounting higher than ever before in the international arena.
The imperialists' old viewpoint and methods will not work any longer in the new century.
They are well advised to clearly understand this and drop their old viewpoint and methods as soon as possible.

Korean War started by United States

Pyongyang, July 28 (KCNA) -- 48 years have passed since the Korean War ceased. The people and People's Army of Korea have celebrated the first day of victory in the Korean War in the new century.
They always remember the scourge of war imposed by the U.S. imperialists, the chieftain of aggression, upon them.
It was universally recognized that it was none other than the United States which started the Korean War.
This is proven by historical facts.
After occupying South Korea at the end of the second world war the United States desperately worked to seize the whole of Korea, its century-old dream.
It massively increased armed forces necessary for executing a war and trained the South Korean army in the American way.
The director in charge of South Korea of the U.S. economic aid bureau testified at the budget committee of the house of representatives on may 19, 1950 that 100,000-strong South Korean army equipped with U.S. weapons and trained by U.S. military advisory group was already prepared for a war and ready to start an operation anytime.
Before the war the United States amassed all types of war materiel and weapons in the areas along the 38th parallel to attack the DPRK.
Macarthur confessed this in his testimony made after his dismissal.
The U.S. also worked out the "NSC-68" strategic plan on "special action" to be taken in case of the outbreak of the Korean War.
According to the U.S. newspaper the New York Times, this was the Korean War scenario which was drafted and agreed upon at the joint meeting of the U.S. department of state and the joint chiefs of staff by the order of U.S. President Truman in January 1950 and approved at a meeting of the U.S. national security council on April 2.
Even the U.S. media including the magazine life said it was the first time in the U.S. history that it was fully prepared for the war as for this Korean War.
On May 9, 1950 U.S. Secretary of Defense Johnson reported to Truman that 100,000 officers and men of the South Korean army were ready to launch a war any moment.
Having wound up preparations for the war, the United States sent Dulles to finally examine the war scenario. The "four party talks held in Tokyo" fixed June 25, 1950 as the date to start the war.
Meanwhile, secretary Acheson and officials of the U.S. department of state had even a draft "resolution" to be presented to the U.N. security council right after the outbreak of a war in Korea.
The U.S. imperialists were crafty enough to dream up a lie that "North Korea launched an armed attack on the south" and force the security council to adopt at its meeting an illegal "resolution" branding the DPRK as an "aggressor."
But nothing can cover up or erase historical truth.
The United States should not forget a serious lesson from its disgraceful defeat in the Korean War but stop running wild.
The Bush administration is pursuing the same policy to isolate and stifle the DPRK in the new century as that went bankrupt in the 20th century.
It is foolish of the United States to put pressure upon the DPRK with a hardline policy. This can never work on the DPRK.
It is the DPRK's unchangeable stand to approach good faith with good faith and respond to hard line with super hard line.
