Senior party officials visit Ranam Coal Mining Machine Complex
Ranam, December 4 (KCNA) -- Senior officials of the provincial, city and county committees and complex committees of the Workers' Party of Korea across the country Tuesday visited the Ranam Coal Mining Machine Complex where the torchlight of Ranam, the torchlight for effecting a new great upswing, was lit.
The workers and officials of the complex settled the very urgent problems of fuel and raw materials on their own efforts during the "arduous march" and the forced march to produce good quality steel. They also manufactured up-to-date equipment requiring high technology by introducing a new engineering method and built two factories while ensuring the production of modern mining equipment.
Looking round different places of the complex, they were deeply impressed to see the workers of Ranam translating leader Kim Jong Il's plan for building a powerful nation into reality in the steadfast spirit of devotedly defending the leader, the spirit of devotedly implementing his instructions.
DPRK remains unfazed under any situation
Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- The DPRK will deal with the world and the situation from the standpoint of adhering to its ideology, system and cause under whatever situation. It will firmly build up the army and solve all the problems related to the international situation and relations.
This is an invariable independent stand and firm will of the DPRK.

It is a foolish delusion for the U.S. imperialists to threaten and blackmail the DPRK and hurt it, taking advantage of the "September 11 Incident".
This incident threw the world into a catastrophic crisis and great confusion in the overall international relations.
It is only the DPRK that remains unfazed, unaffected by it.
There is no reason for us to read other's face or curry favor with anyone no matter how the world situation may change.
We are keeping to the road chosen by ourselves, saying what we should do. The Korean people see everything going well and feel quite reassured. This astonishing reality of the DPRK is the result of the army-based policy pursued by leader Kim Jong Il.
As long as he is following the army-based policy, wisely commanding the army, the DPRK will remain strong for ever and Korean-style socialism steadily advance.
The lesson drawn by the Korean people under the present complicated international situation is that the destiny of the country and the nation entirely depends on whether a nation has a great leader or not and the nation's security and sovereignty cannot be preserved without strong military forces guided by the army-based policy.
Even the slightest slackening of alertness and self-complacency may give the enemy an opportunity of attack.
It is necessary to heighten the revolutionary vigilance to the maximum under the prevailing situation.
As the U.S. long-term war against "terrorism" and its plan to stifle the DPRK suggest, the U.S. bellicose forces have not yet abandoned their wild ambition to seize the whole of Korea by strangulating the DPRK by its strong-arm policy, its war strategy in the 21st century.
If the U.S. imperialists try to test its logic of strength on the DPRK as they are using it against some countries, they will be annihilated to the last man.
The DPRK is also prepared to shatter the Japanese reactionaries' moves for reinvasion. The escalated moves of the U.S. and Japanese reactionaries to stifle the DPRK in a bid to realize their aggressive designs compel the army and people of the DPRK to closely watch their every move with heightened revolutionary vigilance and alertness.

Reception given by Cuban military attache
Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- Eduardo Sanchez Pena, military attache of the Cuban embassy here, Tuesday evening hosted a reception on the occasion of the 45th day of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces.
Present there on invitation were Jong Chang Ryol, vice-minister of the People's Armed Forces, generals and officers of the Korean People's Army.
Present there were Esteban Lobaina Romero, Cuban ambassador to the DPRK, and embassy officials.

Japan's suppression of Chongryon under fire
Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- A mass rally was held in Wonsan, Kangwon Province, yesterday to condemn the Japanese reactionaries' suppression of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon).
Referring to the Japanese reactionaries' search of the central headquarters of Chongryon and its Tokyo metropolitan and western Tokyo headquarters, speakers at the rally denounced this as an unpardonable criminal move to destroy it and an open challenge to the DPRK.
They said:
The Japanese reactionaries have not yet apologized and compensated for the misfortune and sufferings Japan imposed upon the Korean people for more than 40 years in the past century. Yet, they are persisting in all sorts of evil deeds. These unpardonable crimes are only adding to the crimes committed by Japan in the past.
The Korean people will surely force them to pay a thousand-fold higher price.
The Japanese reactionaries should face up to the trend of the times, behave with discretion, immediately stop the national discrimination and crackdown upon Chongryon and Koreans in Japan and release at once the unreasonably arrested people.
If they persist in the anti-DPRK, anti-Chongryon campaign despite the repeated warnings, the Korean people will mete out a thousand-fold severe punishment to the militarists of Japan, the sworn enemy of the Korean people.
Japanese authorities' repression of Chongryon under fire
Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- Overseas compatriots are denouncing the Japanese authorities for ransacking the headquarters and local headquarters of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon).
The United Confederation of Koreans in Russia in a statement on Dec. 1 said that the Japanese authorities' recent repression of Chongryon is not different from the brutal action of winding up the crisis caused by the natural disaster of the Kanto quake early in the last century with the bitterest tragedy, murder of Koreans.
The statement urged the Japanese authorities to immediately stop their unprecedented fascist political suppression, release the unreasonably arrested officials of Chongryon at once and apologize and compensate for their crime.
The society for cooperation of Koreans in Germany in a statement released on the same day said that the Japanese authorities' unreasonable political and national crackdown on Chongryon is as foolish as a murderer brings a suit against a guiltless person.
The statement urged them to immediately stop their unreasonable political and national discrimination against Korean residents in Japan and officially apologize to the DPRK, the dignified Juche socialist homeland of Chongryon, for the case.
Implementation of joint declaration called for
Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- The General Association of Koreans in China released a statement on November 24 as regards the rupture of the 6th inter-Korean ministerial talks owing to the insincere attitude of the south side.
The statement denounced the south side for its unreasonable acts of laying a stumbling block in the way of developing the north-south relations and implementing the joint declaration.
It strongly demanded the South Korean side discontinue labeling compatriots as the "principal enemy" and immediately lift the "emergency alert measure." It also urged the south side to cooperate with compatriots, not with foreign forces, and sincerely apologize to the nation for bringing the talks to a rupture.
The Koreans in china will not pardon those disturbing the implementation of the June 15 joint declaration approved by the north and the south, the statement noted, adding that they would join all other compatriots in the staunch struggle to independently solve the issue of the country's reunification at an early date.

Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- The Kusong Machine-Tool Factory in the DPRK has developed a straightforward rolling guide, a leading-high-tech precision device for numerical control (NC) machine tools.
This guide, whose accuracy is 0.002 mm, has little friction and no gap. It makes it possible to ensure a smooth precise and speedy operation in the reciprocating stand of NC machine tool.
The device is made up of a 600-1,000 mm long guiding stand and two bearing cases.
The guiding stand is HRC 5862 in hardness and 0.003 mm in equilibrium level. On its plane there are holes at regular intervals. And on its sides there are two ways for rolling balls.
The bearing case consists of body, balls, guiding groove, duster and cover, etc.
Static rated load of the device is 43-48KN and its dynamic rated load 25.6-30kn.
This device has two kinds of guiding stands, one with two ways for rolling ball made on its both sides and the other with one way on one of the two sides.

The Korean nation's struggle to reunify the country through the implementation of the historic joint declaration is now being hamstrung owing to the moves of the separatists at home and abroad.
We Koreans are standing at the crossroads: to defend the historic declaration to keep to the road of independent reunification or yield to the challenges to suffer the continued tragedy of the national division.
The separatists at home and abroad are trampling down the spirit of the north-south joint declaration and persisting in their moves for confrontation with the DPRK and a war against it.
