Kim Jong Il inspects KPA unit no. 1200
Pyongyang, February 2 (KCNA) - General Secretary Kim Jong Il inspected KPA unit no. 1200 on Friday.
Upon arriving in the unit on the front, he learned about the performance of the unit's duty. Then he walked up an observation post to see soldiers in training.
He was greatly satisfied to see all the soldiers of the unit fully prepared to be one-match-for-a-hundred fighters capable of defeating any formidable enemy at a single blow and firmly protecting the security of the country and people.
He set forth highly important tasks to be fulfilled to increase the combat capability of the unit in every way.
He said the valiant soldiers of the people's army single-heartedly rallied around the party are standing guard over the forefront where a grim class struggle is under way, demonstrating the heroic stamina of socialist Korea by weathering out the raging wind raised by imperialists with a violent revolutionary storm, adding that no force on earth can overpower these great forces firmly determined not to allow any aggressors to dare invade the inviolable territory of our country but wipe them out to the last one at the risk of their lives.
He took warm care of the living of the soldiers with paternal love, looking round entertainment and logistic facilities of the unit.
He met with commanding officers of a company under the unit.
Noting that it is of weighty importance in increasing the combat capability of the whole army to strengthen the company, a main combat unit and a cell of the people's army, he set forth specific tasks to do so.
Much pleased to learn that the unit has built all the logistic facilities needed for the living of the soldiers and created good dietary conditions by meticulously organizing the supply service, he highly praised its successes.
He spared time to see an art performance given by soldiers of the company under the unit.
He gave them a pair of binoculars, a machine- gun and an automatic rifle as gifts and had a photograph taken with them.
KCNA slams Ri Hoe Chang's sycophancy
Pyongyang, February 2 (KCNA) -- Ri Hoe Chang, president of the "Grand National Party" in South Korea, during his U.S. junket, did not bother to let loose a whole string of jargons intended to disturb the peace and stability on the Korean peninsula and perpetuate the division of the nation, stoking up the fellow countrymen's anger.
Adamantly opposed to the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and supporting the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK, he talked about the "verification" of the north and slandered even the inter-Korean cooperation including Mt. Kumgang tourism.
This is an anti-reunification, sycophantic and treacherous act intended to seize power and seek personal comfort, indifferent to the destiny of the nation.
His true colors as a national separatist were laid bare through the political background against which his U.S. trip took place and its aims.
The U.S. hardline conservatives who seem to be upbeat with the "war against terrorism" as a momentum are increasing pressure on the sovereign states advocating independence. Ri flew into Washington to meet his masters with Bush's visit to South Korea at hand. He begged them to keep the U.S. forces in South Korea permanently, clamoring about the "verification" of the north and "reduction of its conventional armed forces". This fully revealed his unlimited greed for power as a colonial puppet. He is keen to seize power in the next presidential election with the backing of the U.S. hardline conservatives.
He is a top-class traitor who allows himself to serve as a running dog for foreign forces in a bid to satisfy his greed for power.
If such a guy, who seeks permanent division and confrontation, not reconciliation and unity between the north and the south, comes to power, it will spark only a fratricidal war.
What is more intolerable is that Ri, inhuman political prostitute bereft of any elementary ability to judge the interests and aspiration of the nation and the trend of the times, was doggedly opposed to the joint declaration.
The joint declaration is a landmark of reunification which the north and the south confirmed before the world and history. Opposing it is little short of totally denying the existence of the nation itself.
We will not sit with him unless he makes an apology for his crimes.
KCNA on Bush's belligerent remarks
Pyongyang, February 2 (KCNA) -- U.S. President Bush in a "state of the union address" before the congress on Jan. 30 cited the DPRK and some other nations as "an axis of evil" and "states threatening the world peace." And he blustered that the U.S. will not permit them to do so and operations should be carried on as planned.
This reveals the U.S. reckless intention to seize the DPRK by force of arms after designating it as the second target of "anti-terrorism war."
His outburst is little short of a declaration of war against the DPRK, and this may once again bring the military situation on the Korean peninsula to the brink of war.
More than once the DPRK has declared that it has nothing to do with terrorism, and it has posed no threat to any country.
Nevertheless, Bush expressed an intention to stifle the DPRK by force of arms, undisguisedly pointing a finger at it this time. This can never be overlooked nor allowed.
His remarks clearly show that the U.S.-proposed "resumption of dialogue" with the DPRK is intended not for the improvement of the bilateral relations but for the realization of the U.S. aggressive military strategy.
It is the steadfast stand and transparent will to counter force with force and confrontation with confrontation.
The U.S. should not misjudge the inexhaustible military strength of the DPRK. It has fully equipped itself with powerful offensive and defensive means, tightening its belt over the past years.
The DPRK is fully capable of fighting a war with the U.S. it should clearly know that the option to "strike" is not its monopoly.
If the U.S. ignites a war of aggression at last, the army and people of the DPRK will mercilessly wipe out the aggressors.
We are sharply watching the ill-boding moves of the U.S., in full readiness.

Rodong Sinmun comments on U.S. mass killings
Pyongyang, February 2 (KCNA) -- BBC recently confirmed the fact that the U.S. imperialist aggressors indiscriminately killed civilians during the Korean War.
Commenting on it, Rodong Sinmun today says this has made clearer the truth about the massacres committed by the GIs in Rogun-ri and other parts of Korea during the war.
The U.S. imperialists are, however, seeking to evade a probe into the truth about the cases and shirk their responsibility for them, the commentary notes, and says:
This reveals the arrogance and shamelessness of the U.S. imperialist aggressors who have engaged themselves in high-handed practices in South Korea. Such attitude is an intolerable mockery of the Korean nation as it indicates their intention to continue killing Koreans.
Our fellow countrymen can never pardon the u.s. imperialist murderers. If those aggressors are allowed to stay in South Korea our fellow countrymen will have to shed more blood and the entire nation will face a nuclear calamity.
It is impossible to co-exist with the aggressors even a moment. An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.

Withdrawal of U.S. forces from S. Korea urged
Pyongyang, February 2 (KCNA) -- The headquarters of the people's movement for the withdrawal of the U.S. troops in South Korea reportedly issued a statement on January 30 denouncing the U.S. imperialists for having massively deployed nuclear weapons in South Korea.
The statement recalled that a staggering number of nuclear weapons are deployed in different parts of South Korea, quering why the U.S. troops are keeping so many nuclear weapons in South Korea.
The U.S. troops in South Korea should immediately go back home taking the nuclear weapons with them, it urged.
U.S. anti-DPRK smear campaign blasted
Pyongyang, February 2 (KCNA) -- Some U.S. figures affected with nuclear hysteria are busy spreading rumors that the DPRK might "possess one or two nuclear bombs" and that it is playing a certain "trick". Not content with this, they are bringing the DPRK's "nuclear issue" even to an international disarmament conference.
In this regard Minju Joson today says in a signed commentary:
While floating the fiction of "North Korea's suspected nuclear development," they claim the story is based on "information provided by the U.S. CIA" in a bid to make it plausible.
This clearly indicates how desperately they are working to charge the DPRK with "nuclear proliferation".
The DPRK has sincerely implemented its commitment under the DPRK-U.S. agreed framework, even suffering enormous loss of electricity due to the freeze of its independent nuclear power industry.
The United States, however, has not honestly implemented its commitments under the framework though seven years have passed since it was published.
In clamouring about the "nuclear issue" of the DPRK the U.S. seeks a sinister aim. It is aimed at pushing forward its program to beef up its nuclear armed force under the pretext of stopping the "nuclear program" in the DPRK.
The United States should eliminate weapons of mass destruction and drop its bad habit of pointing an accusing finger at others instead of feeling guilty.
