GIS' atrocities during Korean War denounced

Pyongyang, June 22 (KCNA) -- The Korean War was a U.S.-imposed war against humanity, said Brian Wilson, representative of the "American Veterans' Organization for Peace," who visited the DPRK at the head of the group for probing the truth behind GIs' crimes.
Saying that he was stunned by the results of the group's investigation into GIS' atrocities during the Korean War, he added that the Sinchon Museum bears witness to the crimes committed by the U.S. troops in Korea.
The U.S. troops killed a great many innocent civilians and severely destroyed cities and villages by indiscriminate bombing and bombardment, he said.
He urged the U.S. government to admit the GIS' crimes against humanity during the past Korean War, apologize to the Korean people for them and immediately give up its hostile policy and adventurous military moves against the DPRK.

Release of workers demanded

Pyongyang, June 22 (KCNA) -- The (South) Korean Confederation of Trade Unions reportedly released a statement on June 18 denouncing the Seoul high court for demanding five years in prison against Tan Pyong Ho, chairman of the confederation, at a trial on appeal. The statement said that this prosecution lays bare the authorities' position to escalate the suppression and block the advance of workers.
The confederation would wage an all-out struggle for the release of the chairman and other detained workers and an end to the "corrupt regime," the "regime cracking down upon the labor movement.

U.S. nuclear threat slammed

Pyongyang, June 22 (KCNA) -- The United States is keen to manufacture new type nuclear weapons again with a view to developing nuclear weapons to be effectively used in the so-called "anti-terrorism war" and realizing its strategy for world supremacy, drawing the "lesson" that it failed to use them in the afghan war. Minju Joson today says this in a signed commentary.
    It goes on:
This shows that the U.S. is trying to repeat the same horrible disaster as it spelled to Japan by dropping a-bombs over its cities during the second world war.
The U.S. and Japan are resorting to malignant smear campaigns against the DPRK while pulling it up over its "nuclear threat".
This is no more than a farce to cover up their true colors as nuclear war criminals and realize their criminal design to dominate the world with nuclear weapons.
The U.S. and Japan are the real nuclear war criminals who should be resolutely denounced and rejected by the world and brought to justice.
They are well advised to know that with nothing can they conceal their true colors as the enemies of peace, criminals keen to start a nuclear war.

KCNA assails U.S. "National Security Strategy"

Pyongyang, June 22 (KCNA) -- High ranking officials of the U.S. administration including Bush and Cheney are vying with each other to clamor about the conception of "preemptive attack." Timed to coincide with this, a spokesman for the administration formally disclosed that the u.s. is working out a new "national security strategy," the keynote of which is to mount "preemptive attacks on hostile states." This was an undisguised revelation of the U.S. criminal intention to amend the basic principle of "containment and deterrence" advocated by it in the international political and diplomatic arenas for over half a century since the end of the second world war and identify the "national security strategy" based on the conception of "strength" with its basic national policy.
This is arousing great apprehension among the international community as it is an extremely reckless and anachronistic move to stifle the anti-imperialist independent countries by force of arms and put the world under its control.
The new strategy means, in essence, a strategy to dominate the world as it pleases because it is aimed to contain sovereign countries opposed to its arbitrary practices, contain big powers that may emerge its rivals and put them under its control.
The U.S. is considering "anti-terrorism war" as a major lever for realizing the strategy.
What should not be overlooked is that the U.S., while feigning ignorance of its crimes committed as the kingpin of international terrorism, is escalating the "anti-terrorism war," after listing independent sovereign countries as "hostile countries sponsoring terrorism" although they have nothing to do with terrorism.
The U.S. is handling many international issues in favour of it, turning the international community's criticism of "terrorism" to evil account, and interfering in the internal affairs of the sovereign states as it pleases.
U.S. hawkish elements are vociferating about "preemptive attack" on the DPRK after groundlessly labelling it as part of an "axis of evil", "terrorism sponsor" and "hostile nation." This is intended to vitiate the hard-won atmosphere of peace on the Korean Peninsula and render again the political and military situation there tense.
The issue of ensuring peace on the Korean Peninsula is a crucial issue related to peace and stability in the world, to say nothing of the Asia-Pacific region. It, therefore, cannot but affect the world political situation.
It is as clear as noonday that the U.S. "national security strategy" based on "preemptive attack" will increase the danger of a new war worldwide.
The U.S. is well advised to face up to the trend of the times toward peace and drop its reckless doctrine of war for hegemony.

U.S. troops' murder of S. Korean girls under fire

Pyongyang, June 22 (KCNA) -- The secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland (CPRF) released information bulletin no. 818 on June 21, denouncing the U.S. imperialist aggression troops for driving an armored car over South Korean young school girls to death. The bulletin says:
The recent crime is a thrice-cursed atrocity which can be perpetrated only by the U.S. military occupiers who consider the lives of South Koreans to be ephemeral.
More than half a century-long history of the U.S. imperialists' occupation of South Korea is characterized by aggression, plunder and bloody genocide as they cruelly insulted and murdered South Koreans irrespective of age and sex, regarding them as colonial slaves.
The CPRF secretariat vehemently denounces the U.S. imperialist aggressors, the sworn enemy of the Korean people, for blocking peace and reunification of Korea and perpetrating bloody murder of people and plunder while lording it over South Korea.
The U.S. imperialists are resorting to all sorts of tricks to evade the responsibility for the murder of girl students Sin Hyo Sun and Sim Mi Son with a far-fetched assertion that victims are to blame for the accident. But the U.S. can by no means shirk the responsibility for the deliberate murder of passers-by young students by an armored car.
The ever-mounting anti-U.S. struggle of South Korean people is an eruption of their resolute will to pardon the U.S. new war provocation moves, murder and robbery no longer and not to be colonial slaves.
The U.S. should clearly see the will of the Korean nation, make apology and compensation for the immeasurable crimes committed against the Korean people for more than half a century and immediately pull all its murderous equipment and aggression troops out of South Korea.

2nd anniversary of June 15 North-South Joint Declaration marked

Pyongyang, June 22 (KCNA) -- The 2nd anniversary of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration was commemorated by Koreans in the U.S., according to a news report. The council of Koreans in the United States for implementing the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration in an appeal on June 15 said that the joint declaration is a landmark common to the nation for national reunification and co-ordinates of hope for leading the 70 million fellow countrymen to a prosperous future and that the implementation of the joint declaration helps accomplish the cause of reunification.
It is not smooth to implement the joint declaration owing to the anti-reunification forces obstructing it, the appeal said, adding:
National reunification would surely be achieved if the nation gets united.
Meanwhile, Koreans in the U.S. held various functions including a "Reunification Music Concert for the Implementation of the June 15 Joint Declaration" and a "Reunification Festival for Commemorating the 2nd Anniversary of June 15 Joint Declaration" in New York, Washington and other places.
