Probe into truth behind GIS' killings demanded
Pyongyang, July 13 (KCNA) -- Civic and public organizations including the "All-People Measure Committee for Middle-School Girls Sin Hyo Sun and Sim Mi Son Killed by the U.S. Armored Car" and the Bar Association for a Democratic Society had a grand joint meeting of the people in Seoul on July 9, according to a news report.
The meeting heard a report and testimonies made by bereaved family members. A joint statement was released there.
The statement charged that though nearly a month has passed since the killings a thorough probe into the truth of them has not yet been made and a legal action has not been taken against the criminals.
Noting that this tragedy was attributable to the "unequal South Korea-U.S. relations historically built and institutionalized" and the South Korea-U.S. "status of forces agreement", the statement demanded Bush's open apology, a total reinvestigation into the killings of Jon Tong Rok and girl students and a legal action against killers, the closure of U.S. military bases and the revision of the "agreement".
War outcries of Ri Hoe Chang and his party assailed
Pyongyang, July 13 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the National Democratic Front of South Korea released a statement on July 8, condemning the "Grand National Party" group for escalating its moves for confrontation with the DPRK in the wake of the recent armed clash in the West Sea, according to Seoul-based radio Voice of National Salvation.
The statement said:
The "GNP" group does not bother to falsify the fact and claim that "a war should not be ruled out." This is intended to escalate the inter-Korean confrontation in a bid to nullify the June 15 joint declaration, chill the growing desire of the South Korean people for independence against the U.S., alliance with the north and reunification and achieve their political ambition for domination.
The group should face up to the trend of the times and the mind-set of the people, stop acting rashly, apologize for their crimes and immediately quit the political arena.
The NDFSK will join all the people in opposing and rejecting the U.S. and Ri Hoe Chang's group and struggling to the last to achieve the independent reunification, the cherished desire of the nation, under the banner of the June 15 joint declaration.
U.S. Forces'-brazen-faced behaviour assailed
Pyongyang, July 13 (KCNA) -- The secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland yesterday issued information bulletin no. 819 denouncing the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces for patronizing the two GIS who drove an armoured car over two girl students to death.
Recalling that the u.s. forces announced on July 8 that they could not hand over the two American killers to the South Korean side under the absurd pretext of "threat to their safety," the bulletin said:
This once again clearly shows the extreme arrogance and impudence of the U.S. troops in South Korea.
The U.S. Forces side's patronage of the criminals patently proves that they feel neither guilty nor responsible for the killings and are keen only on extraterritorial acts, looking down upon the South Korean people and maltreating them, it noted, and continued:
It is unbearable national disgrace that the South Korean people who have experienced all sorts of misfortune and pain due to the U.S. troops for over half a century are trampled down by their jackboots and fall victim to their brutality in this century, too.

The deputy Prime Minister said that Norodom Sihanouk often recalled that Kim Il Sung liberated the country and turned the DPRK into a powerful country and Kim Jong Il achieved great success in the cause to build up and defend the country, inheriting Kim Il Sung's cause, and always remembered the great benevolence and solicitude shown by them for him.
U.S. Forces urged to accept investigation into murder
Pyongyang, July 13 (KCNA) -- The South Korean News Agency Yonhap News denounced the U.S. Forces for rejecting the prosecution's investigation into the murder of South Korean schoolgirls by GIS.
The two killers were summoned by the Uijongbu branch of the Seoul district prosecutor's office on July 8 but refused to accept investigation for the reason of the "threat to their personal safety," it said. It also quoted the U.S. Ambassador to South Korea as saying on July 9 that those related with the incident would be put on trial in the way of the U.S.
One can see the sameness of the American viewpoint from the two facts, it said. That means "South Korea should stand aside, leaving the case at the U.S. discretion."
With such an attitude the U.S. Forces side wants to make a pretext for avoiding investigation, it said, and urged it to honestly accept the investigation and take the blame for the murder.
