Rally for national reunification held in S. Korea
Pyongyang, July 14 (KCNA) -- The solidarity for implementing the South-North Joint Declaration reportedly held a rally for national reunification in Chongwon, North Chungchong Province, on July 6 and 7.
The participants vowed to dynamically turn out in the struggle to implement the June 15 Joint Declaration.
A resolution adopted at the rally called for focusing all efforts on the anti-U.S., anti-war and anti-nuke struggle, frustrating the plot of the pro-U.S. conservative forces to ditch the declaration and escalating the movement for implementing it.
Noting nobody can block all the fellow countrymen's grand march for reunification under the uplifted slogan "Let's reunify the country by the concerted efforts of our nation," the resolution called on all the people to make this a fruitful year in the efforts for the country's reunification.
Bush's apology demanded
Pyongyang, July 14 (KCNA) -- The headquarters of the All-People Movement for the Withdrawal of the U.S. Troops reportedly demanded an apology of Bush, who is chiefly to blame for the two girl students killed by a U.S. armored car, and the withdrawal of the U.S. troops from South Korea.
Setting out a slogan for its actions, the South Korean organization on July 11 called for driving the U.S. troops, a group of killers, out of South Korea, reunifying the country by the concerted efforts of the Korean nation and implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration.
The slogan called for a coup de grace to the Joson Ilbo newspaper and Ri Hoe Chang's Grand National Party, which are patronizing the U.S. troops.
Meanwhile, the art troupe of the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils created a song "May you return to life to become flowers" in commemoration of the two victims and posted it together with its musical note on its Internet homepage.
U.S. history woven with aggression and plunder
Pyongyang, July 14 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Sunday in a signed article says that the U.S. nature of aggression and plunder still remains unchanged.
The 50 stars on the U.S. flag provide a glimpse of its history of aggression and plunder, the article says, and goes on:
All the wars carried out by the U.S. imperialists against other countries are all those of aggression and plunder.
Finding it is no longer possible to dominate, rule and plunder other countries in a forcible way, they are now employing a more concealed and crafty way in exploitation and plunder of the countries.
Typical of it is exploitation and plunder through multinational companies. The U.S. transnational companies have invested in developing countries undergoing economic woes under the pretext of "aid" and squeezed a profit of four or five dollars, even 10 dollars per one dollar.
The U.S. is also escalating exploitation and plunder through "loan."
Besides, under the cloak of "joint development" and "technical cooperation" it is expanding its interests by taking a grasp of the major economic sectors of developing countries.
The world progressives should clearly know the U.S. imperialists' nature and wage a staunch struggle against aggression and plunder to make the new century free from exploitation and plunder, domination and subjugation.
Anniversary of Kim Jong Il's work on national reunification marked
Pyongyang, July 14 (KCNA) -- The fellow countrymen in the north, south and overseas should join in the efforts to implement the North-South Joint Declaration based on the three principles of national reunification.
Rodong Sinmun Sunday says this in a signed article devoted to the 30th anniversary of the publication of leader Kim Jong Il's work "Let Us Struggle Resolutely To Implement The Three Principles Of National Reunification".
The work discloses the reactionary nature of the anti-reunification elements rejecting the implementation of the July 4 Joint Statement, explains the validity and significance of the three principles -- independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity -- and clarifies all issues regarding their implementation.
The article notes that the last 30 years clearly proved the validity, significance and vitality of the ideas and theories formulated in the work.
First of all, the work serves as precious, historic wealth because it implants consciousness of national independence in the fellow countrymen, it says, and continues:
National independence is a banner of the struggle all the Koreans should uplift, as the reunification issue in Korea spawned by foreign forces and the U.S. imperialists have occupied a half of the country and stood in the way of its reunification.
The historic inter-Korean summit meeting in Pyongyang and the publication of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration are a brilliant result of Kim Jong Il's idea of national independence.
The work is a banner that provided a practical foundation of national reunification to the fellow countrymen and inspires them to turn out in the efforts for the reunification.
All the fellow countrymen who love the country and the nation and wish for national reunification should firmly unite under the banner of the three principles of national reunification and the June 15 Joint Declaration and smash the U.S. imperialists and South Korean anti-reunification elements' moves of confrontation and war.
