On its gazebo he was briefed on the branch farm and acquainted himself with the details of its construction and production, having a bird's-eye view of it.
He highly praised the feats of the farmers, saying it is very laudable that such good farm was built in the period of ordeals.
Our servicemen, workers and farmers have created wealth of eternal value in different parts of the country by displaying their persevering will, confident of the future even in the period of the "arduous march" and forced march when they were hard pressed for everything, he noted, saying: these signal achievements to be recorded in history are a demonstration of the strong spirit of our people in which they have worked hard to build a powerful and prosperous nation, valuing the socialist system as their lives.
Leader Kim Jong Il went round a milk processing room and other places to learn about in detail the production of animal products and their procession, and praised the farmers' efforts.
What is most important in increasing animal products is to solve the breed problem and place the breeding on a scientific and technical basis, he said, advancing highly important tasks that would serve as a guideline in further developing stockbreeding.
Being informed of this year's farming situation on the co-op farm, he referred to the problems arising in steadily raising the grain yield.
On the same day, he dropped in at the house of discharged soldier Jo Jong Yon, leader of the rabbit sub-work team of the branch farm.
After having a cordial talk with Jo and his wife to learn about their work and life and their children's study as their parents would do, he went to the kitchen to acquaint himself with the production and use of methane gas there.
All the houses can produce methane gas with ease if they follow Jo's example, he said, stressing that a brisk mass movement should be launched to introduce cultured and economic methane gasification.
Accompanying him were secretaries of the WPK central committee Kim Kuk Thae and Kim Ki Nam and others.
