Russian foreign minister leaves
Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) - Russian foreign minister Igor Sergeyevich Ivanov left here for home Monday after visiting the DPRK at the invitation of the DPRK government.
Leaving together with him were vice-minister of foreign affairs A.P. Losyukov and other companions.
The guests were seen off at the airport by DPRK vice-minister of foreign affairs Kung Sok Ung, officials concerned, Russian ambassador to the DPRK A.G. Karlov and his embassy officials.
Russian foreign minister interviewed
Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) - The visiting Russian foreign minister, Igor Sergeyevich Ivanov held a press conference here on Monday.
He expressed heartfelt thanks to Kim Jong Il, Chairman of the National Defense Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, for paying particular attention to them.
He said he had an audience of Kim Jong Il, was entertained to a dinner and enjoyed the mass gymnastic and artistic performance Arirang.
He went on:
When Chairman Kim Jong Il received me, I conveyed a personal letter of President Putin to him.
The letter reflects the firm will of the Russian side to implement all the agreements reached at the summit talks held in Pyongyang and Moscow in 2000 and 2001.
At the talks held this time, the two sides estimated with satisfaction the bilateral relations successfully developing in accordance with the firm will of Putin and Kim Jong Il, the supreme leaders of the two countries.
The sides have identical or similar views on cooperation in political, economic, cultural and other fields and on its future.
They expressed satisfaction with mutual cooperation in the international arena and exchanged views on the situation on the Korean peninsula.
When discussing the situation on the Korean peninsula, the DPRK side expressed its willingness to continue inter-Korean dialogue and stressed that the issue of Korean reunification should be solved in accordance with the June 15 joint declaration.
Responding to questions raised by reporters, he said:
During my Pyongyang visit, Kim Jong Il had very sincere and elaborate talks with me.
He has a good knowledge of all issues including bilateral relations and international matters. He gave his clear-cut view on them.
We are boosting bilateral cooperation in the international arena and taking many joint steps in the Asia-Pacific region, in particular.
Cultural exchange is also going well.
With a legal foundation already laid for economic cooperation, the two countries are willing to cooperate with each other in economic field and now exerting efforts for this purpose.
We take this opportunity to hope the Korean people will successfully attain their goal.
Main idea of present era
Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) - Korea is blessed with a great idea which enjoys unanimous support and sympathy from the world progressives.
It is the immortal Juche idea fathered by President Kim Il Sung.
The Juche idea, based on the philosophical principle that man is the master of everything and decides everything, convinces the popular masses that one is responsible for one's own destiny and shows them a correct way of carving out their own destiny by themselves.
The Juche idea has fully proved its validity and vitality through over half a century of the Korean revolution and the world revolutionary people's anti-imperialist struggle for independence.

Korean women respected in society
Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) - The Korean women are enjoying a dignified life with the same social position and rights as the men's and are respected as a flower of the country, happiness and life.
Pak Sun Hui, chairwoman of the central committee of the Korean Democratic Women's Union, said this in a press interview on the occasion of the anniversary of the law on sex equality.
The promulgation of the law on July 30, Juche 35 (1946) enabled the Korean women to be free to participate in social activities with the same rights as the men's, she added.
The law, made up of nine articles, is a programme for the women's emancipation that brought about a radical turn in the social position and destiny of the Korean women.
In order to substantially and comprehensively guarantee equal rights for men and women, the state has built excellent public health and service establishments, nurseries and kindergartens across the country.
Therefore, all the women are provided with all necessary for social activities by the state.

The women have invariably advanced along the road of patriotism, overcoming difficulties in the "arduous march" and the forced march.
Particularly, Dr. Hyon Yong Ra made alloy material and contributed to putting the electronic industry of the country on a high-tech basis, a patriotic farmer Pak Ok Hui succeeded in treble cropping in a northern mountainous area and marathon queen Jong Song Ok demonstrated the spirit and indomitable stamina of the Korean nation to the world. U.S. is chiefly to blame for nuclear threat
Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) - The United States, viewing the DPRK as the main threat, has taken "measures" to protect its mainland from potential terror.
Recently, U.S. State Secretary Powell and the U.S. Ambassador to Seoul said north Korea, listed as part of the "axis of evil," is a specified state which should be dealt with serious apprehension and the world's biggest exporter of missiles and missile techniques which fosters arms races in several regions.
Rodong Sinmun Monday in a signed commentary says their remarks were aimed to cover up the criminal colors of the U.S. as the world's biggest producer of nuclear weapons and missiles and as the very one who proliferates them worldwide, sparking a nuclear arms race.
Recalling that the U.S., possessed of a large number of nuclear warheads, is working hard to establish the missile defense system and stage a test-fire of missile interceptor, the commentary says that due to the U.S. moves the global peace and security are exposed to grave threat and a fear of a new arms race is hovering above the world.
The U.S. can never cover up its true colors as the very one responsible for nuclear threat, the production and proliferation of mass destruction weapons and all sorts of evils, the commentary concludes.
All-people memorial period proclaimed
Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) - The All-people Measure Committee for Sin Hyo Sun and Sim Mi Son, Schoolgirls Killed by U.S. Forces' Armored Car held a press conference in front of the U.S. embassy in Seoul on July 26, according to a news report.
In a press release the organization said that the south Korean people are indignant at the arrogant and deceptive attitude taken by the U.S. forces since the murder was committed, demanding they abandon the criminal jurisdiction at once and bush make an official apology to the Korean people and totally revise the unequal south Korea-U.S. Status of Forces Agreement.
It proclaimed the all-people memorial period from July 27 to august 3 and made public an action program for the period.
It said that it would hold the memorial service on the 49th day of death in front of the Seoul city office on July 31 and, at the same time, launch a cyber demonstration against the U.S. embassy and the White House and form a delegation to stage a sit-in strike.
DPRK agricultural experts praised
Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) - Guinan President Lansana Conte, when visiting the Koba farm together with the Guinean minister of agriculture on July 19, said that crops ruled good at the farm with the help of experts of the DPRK dispatched by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.
DPRK agricultural experts are assisting the farm.
Saying he was pleased to see rice doing good at the farm this year, the Guinean President added that such good crop could not be seen in any other parts of Guinea.
He extended his wholehearted thanks to Kim Jong Il who has sincerely helped Guinea in its agricultural development.
Party, state officials visit Taehongdan county
Taehongdan, July 28 (KCNA) - Party and state officials and the senior officials of the ministries and national institutions visited the monument to the victorious battle in Musan area and several places in Taehongdan county on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of state-run farm No. 5.
At the monument they placed bouquets and made deep bows before the statue of President Kim Il Sung before looking round the monument, being briefed on it.
Then they went round several places of the county including a village of ex-soldiers, a pig farm and a potato field of workteam No. 6 of the Hongam farm and the potato institute of the Academy of Agricultural Science.
Through the visit, they were firmly convinced of a successful building of a powerful nation of Juche.
Solidarity with Korean people expressed
Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) - The Genuine Lumumbist Patriotic Party and the People's Rally for the Socialism of Democratic Congo released a joint statement on July 23 in the month of international solidarity with the Korean people.
The statement said that they were watching the U.S. trying to provoke a new war against the DPRK behind the scene of dialogue. It also said the U.S.-south Korea-japan triangular military alliance was the Asian version of the NATO and the target of the alliance was the DPRK and other independent countries of Asia.
It continued:
The U.S. troops should be withdrawn from south Korea unconditionally.
All the political parties in the world that signed the Pyongyang declaration should send material and moral support to the Workers' Party and people of Korea in their efforts to defend the sovereignty of socialist Korea and the dignity of Kim Il Sung's nation and drive foreign forces out of south Korea.
The statement called for supporting the army-based policy of leader Kim Jong Il.
U.S. forces in under fire
Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) - The Joint Measure Committee for Solution to the Issue of Jon Tong Rok, victim to high-tension line of U.S. forces in south Korea, held a meeting in front of the back gate of the U.S. second division on July 24 to commemorate him on the 49th day of his death and denounce the U.S. forces, according to a news report.
Ri Jong U, a section chief of the committee, denounced the U.S. troops for having not only killed Jon but murdered Mi Son and Hyo Sun. It means carrying out the will of the deceased not to allow the reoccurrence of the U.S. troops' crime on this land, he added.
The representative of the headquarters of the Citizens' Movement for Making Kyonggi Province Free from U.S. Military Base vowed to make ceaseless efforts to get the U.S. forces withdrawn from south Korea and make the land of south Korea free from U.S. forces' crime.
Rev. Hong Kun Su in a memorial address said that the U.S. troops' who killed Jon Tong Rok, Mi Son and Hyo Sun, should leave south Korea.
They ended the meeting with the "Song for withdrawal of U.S. forces from south Korea."
New stamps issued
Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) - New stamps "monument to the three charters for national reunification" and "Ryongmun cavern" were issued in the DPRK recently.
The first one was issued on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of President Kim Il Sung's clarification of the three principles of national reunification (May 3, 1972). It depicts two enthusiastic and cheerful Korean women in national costumes, their arms stretching out to uphold the symbol of the three charters.
Its size: 56 mm x 37 mm. quantity: 10,000 (perf.) and 500 (imperf.).
A sheet of stamps on "Ryongmun cavern" consists of stamps "a squid in Phungnyon section," "stacks of bumper crops in Phungnyon section," "large-scale chandelier in Kwangmyong section," "Jong Il Peak in secret camp in Mt. Paektu section," and a label "stone falls in Manmul section".
These vividly depict the spectacular scenery presented by myriad-shaped stalactites formed over a long period due to the drop of subterranean water and dissolution of lime.

Greetings to Moroccan King
Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) - Kim Yong Nam, President of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, sent a message of greetings to King of Morocco Mohamed the Sixth on the occasion of its national day.
The message wished the King and people of Morocco bigger success in their work to achieve progress and prosperity of the country and consolidate the territorial integrity.
