DPRK delegate on Palestinian situation

Pyongyang, August 11 (KCNA) -- The tenth extraordinary session of the UN General Assembly on the Palestinian situation should take practical measures to stop Israel's repressive moves and ensure the legitimate national rights of Palestinians and other Arab peoples. The DPRK delegate clarified this stand at the session on August 5, condemning Israel for its arrogant military attacks on the national authority of Palestine.
Attributing Israel's actions such as use of armed force to the patronage and backing of a specified country, he said the United Nations should make sustained efforts to settle the regional disputes in a peaceful way and prevent all forms of intervention and unreasonable pressure on other countries.
    He continued:
Israel must promptly stop its terrorism against civilians and barbarous military aggression and other actions, which are wrecking regional peace and security in violation of international humanitarian law, withdraw its forces from Kuds and other Palestinian territory and all other occupied Arab territories and come out to the peace negotiations with Palestine at once. On this occasion, the DPRK delegation extends full support and solidarity to the just cause of the Palestinians to defend their legitimate national rights including the right to establish an independent state as well as to other Arab nations in their struggle for a fair solution to the mid-east problem, he concluded.

1,000-member declaration published in S. Korea

Pyongyang, August 11 (KCNA) -- The Catholic Measure Committee For the Correct Solution Of the Case Of Killing of Schoolgirls By the U.S. Armored Car reportedly issued a 1,000-member declaration on Wednesday demanding the just settlement of the case. The declaration charged that the U.S. Forces' side took an arrogant attitude towards the demand for the transfer of jurisdiction, asserting that the accident occurred while GIs were on duty and there was no precedent of giving up jurisdiction. It accused the Defense Ministry and the prosecution authorities of south Korea of supporting the stand of the U.S. Forces.
Noting that this behaviour clearly indicates the growing inequality and master-servant relations between the U.S. and South Korea, the declaration demanded the U.S. and the south Korean authorities totally revise the shackling status of forces agreement.

Those calling for U.S. Forces' continued presence in S. Korea assailed

Pyongyang, August 11 (KCNA) -- The headquarters of the people's movement for the withdrawal of U.S. troops reportedly said that those calling for the U.S. troops' continued presence in south Korea should be condemned as an enemy of the Korean nation. The organization in a special statement Wednesday questioned why politicians including Ri Hoe Chang are siding with the U.S. Forces who refuse to transfer criminal jurisdiction though GIs deliberately drove an armoured car over schoolgirls to death and for what Chosun Ilbo is. The statement equated the quasi-peace activists calling for the continued presence of the U.S. troops in south Korea with the same criminals.
We should clearly show the U.S. Forces and their followers what will happen when we get angry, statement warned, noting that the headquarters declared a war against the U.S. Forces.
In the evening at least 300 students affiliated to the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils staged a surprise demonstration at an intersection in front of the Lotte department store in Seoul, denouncing the U.S. troops for their murder case.

S. Korean prosecution's investigation results under fire

Pyongyang, August 11 (KCNA) -- Several south Korean organizations in their statements and written opinions issued on August 6 denounced the prosecution's investigation results patronizing the GI killers, according to Yonhap News from Seoul. The headquarters of the movement for stopping GIs' crimes in a statement accused the prosecution of announcing the investigation results in which it asserted that the accident caused by the GIs' armored car was chiefly attributable to communication jamming. The statement expressed resentment at this flunkeyist and servile attitude.
Recalling that the prosecution glossed over the case through a perfunctory investigation without proper verification on the spot and the authorities have been busy covering up the GIs' crime, the statement urged the government to keep silent if it is not in a position to speak for the public opinion.
The bar association for a democratic society in a written opinion on the investigation results of the prosecution held that the investigation results were too insufficient to clear a lot of suspicions including a doubt as to how the armoured car could move from its unit to the scene of incident if the communication jamming was the main cause of the accident.
The organization underlined the need to conduct a thorough-going reinvestigation into the GIs involved in the murder including on-spot verification, urging the U.S. forces to give up criminal jurisdiction.
