Book "Korea, Bright Star In The East" issued in Turkey

Pyongyang, September 2 (KCNA) -- Book "Korea, Bright Star in the East" was published in Turkey. It was authored by a Turkish writer and editor of the magazine teachers' world. The book consists of a preface, six titles such as "historical background" and "switchover to socialism" and 50 sub-titles.
Carried in it are photos of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il and photos introducing the DPRK. Among them is a photo of the Tower of the Juche Idea.
The author in the book elaborates on immortal feats Kim Il Sung performed in defeating the Japanese and the U.S. imperialists and building Korean socialism. The Korean people hold him in high esteem as the father of the nation with ardent yearning for him, he says.
The book introduces in detail the advantages of the socialist education in the DPRK, attributing the true picture of the DPRK as a land of learning to the wise leadership of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

GNP accused of inciting inter-Korean confrontation in sports

Pyongyang, September 2 (KCNA) -- South Korea's Grand National Party (GNP) has asserted that the north and south of Korea should carry their own flags in the forthcoming Pusan Asiad. This is an unpardonable anti-national deed of opposing national unity and reunification and inciting confrontation between "two states" even in international sports games. Such assertion is very dangerous as it is intended to use sports for political propaganda. The secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland said this in its information bulletin no. 824 on Sunday.
The north and south of Korea have already agreed that their teams will enter together the places of the opening and closing ceremonies of the Pusan Asiad with the unified flag. The agreement is now enjoying full support of all the fellow countrymen and the world public as the affirmative agreement inspires the Koreans with the desire for national unity and reunification, the bulletin noted, and further said:
However, the GNP alone is dead set against the agreement, claiming that "there is apprehension that sports might be used for political propaganda" and "the north side's demand has been accepted unilaterally." this reveals its dark intention to spoil the mounting atmosphere for dialogue and cooperation between the north and south of Korea.
As for the agreed joint entry of the two sides in the Pusan Asiad, it is not only in accord with the basic spirit of the June 15 inter-Korean joint declaration but also is quite natural as there is a precedent already set in previous international games.
Nevertheless, the GNP is seeking to kill the north-south agreement and put the games in turmoil with an anti-national, anti-reunification logic. It is, indeed, a group of villains who do not hesitate to do anything to gratify their greed for power.
It is as clear as noonday that if such a group comes to power, the inter-Korean relations would be driven into a danger.
The GNP should promptly stop inciting division and confrontation among the fellow countrymen.

Kim Jong Il's high prestige

Pyongyang, September 2 (KCNA) -- The DPRK, though small in its territory and population, has demonstrated its dignity as a powerful socialist country, because it holds Kim Jong Il in high esteem, says Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article. It goes on:
The prestige of Kim Jong Il represents that of the DPRK because he has firmly defended the dignity and sovereignty of the country and the nation and led the global cause of socialism to victory by successfully enforcing his army-based policy.
Korea was subjected to all sorts of maltreatment and insult under the yoke of colonial slavery because it had a weak army in the past. But the DPRK is demonstrating its might as a dignified powerful country which fully exercises its sovereignty in the international arena, meeting the challenge of the imperialists, who style themselves the only superpower in the world, with the might of the army-based policy.
Kim Jong Il has turned the DPRK into a dignified independent powerful state that no formidable enemy can dare provoke, foiling all the moves of the imperialists with the army-based policy, the most effective political mode in the world history of politics. These are the immortal feats performed by him on behalf of the country and its people.
The DPRK is widely known as an example of socialism and as a fortress of socialism as it is the country where the desire of humankind has come true.
The revolutionary spirit cherished by Kim Jong Il represents the spirit of the red flag and his lifelong mission is to accomplish the cause of socialism.
In the period of trial when socialism collapsed in various countries, he published famous works including "Socialism is a Science", clearly proving the validity of the cause of socialism and injecting fresh energy into the world socialist movement.
As the DPRK is led by Kim Jong Il, the brilliant commander of Mt. Paektu and the outstanding leader of the cause of socialism in the present era, it is shining as Kim Jong Il's Korea which enjoys the highest international prestige in the world.

Our kindergarten has introduced an educational method suitable to the children's mind to give a systematic and regular artistic education.
We disseminate rhythmic exercises among children to help them have a proper violin-playing posture and teach execution in comparison with matters and phenomena."

Its many graduates are active at the merited choir of the Korean People's Army, the national symphony orchestra and other artistic groups as promising musicians.

Socio-historical principles of Juche idea

Pyongyang, September 2 (KCNA) -- The Juche idea clarifies the Juche outlook on social history and man-centred socio-historical principles. The socio-historical principles elucidated by the Juche idea indicate by what cause and strength society, part of the world, changes and progresses and what should be done to advance history and develop society.
The subject of history is the popular masses.
Human history is characterized by the working masses' struggle for independence and history progresses and social movement is caused by their creative activities.
The historical materialism of Marxism formulated the principle that social existence defines social consciousness and, on this basis, clarified that social history, too, is governed by the universal laws of the material world.
However, this materialistic conception of history fails to prove that the social movement has its own peculiar laws which are different from those of the material world and that social movement is caused and developed by the peculiar laws. The Juche outlook on history overcomes the shortcomings of the preceding socio-historical outlook and expounds the peculiar laws of the social movement with the popular masses as its subject, establishing perfect philosophical understanding of the development of society and its movement.
The socio-historical outlook clarifies the characteristics that the social movement is developed by the volitional action and role of the subject, which is different from the motion of nature.
On this basis it makes clear the socio-historical view and stand-point.
The social historical outlook centering on the popular masses indicates the basic principles of the struggle to carve out their destinies for the first time in the history of human philosophical thinking and the way of struggle for social change and progress.

U.S. brigandish logic refuted

Pyongyang, September 2 (KCNA) -- The U.S. asserts that other nations' efforts to increase their capability for self-defense should not be allowed, while threatening others with massively stockpiled nuclear weapons and means of delivery and scooping up a ridiculous amount of money through arms sale. Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary describes this assertion as brigandish logic.
    It says:
The U.S. is chiefly responsible for the development and proliferation of missile technology.
This view was expressed in connection with the paper titled ballistic missiles and missile defense in Asia published recently by an expert on Asian affairs of the Carnegui International Peace Foundation of the United States and the new sanctions imposed by the U.S. on the DPRK, timed to coincide with it.
The paper alleged that north Korea might have already deployed over 100 Rodong no. 1 missiles with most of the Japanese territory within their range, and that the north's development of ballistic missiles would be accelerated in the future as well as the proliferation of missile technology would be increased.
    This is sheer nonsense.
The DPRK's missile program poses no problem as it is for a peaceful purpose.
The U.S. is now even talking about a preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK after singling it out as its "principal enemy" and part of an "axis of evil."
It is quite natural for the DPRK to increase its capacity for self-defence to cope with the assault.
Lurking behind the U.S. accusation against the DPRK over its missile issue is a sinister intention to justify the establishment of the Missile Defense System which is censured not only by its allies but people inside the U.S. and find a pretext to push it forward in real earnest.
The DPRK remains undeterred by any U.S. military pressure and economic sanctions. it will increase its capacity for self-defence with redoubled courage under the banner of the army-based policy.
The U.S. is well advised to properly know who is its opponent and stop foolish acts.
