Verdict of "not guilty" given to GI murderers flailed

    Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- Rallies of teachers and students were held at Kim Chaek University of Technology and Kum Song Middle School No. 1 on November 27 to denounce the U.S. military court for declaring not guilty the GIs who killed schoolgirls in South Korea. At the rallies speakers dismissed the U.S. Forces' arrogant action as an unpardonable insult to the Korean nation and bitterly condemned the GI killers on behalf of all teachers and students.
    They said:
    The GIs killed the schoolgirls in cold blood in broad daylight, but the U.S. military court declared them not guilty. This proves that the U.S. is the den of murderers and an empire of evil.
    Yet, these man-killers and chieftains of aggression are pulling up the DPRK after singling it out as part of an "axis of evil" and under the pretext of the nuclear issue. This is a brigandish act that can be committed only by the U.S. imperialists, the world's worst hooligans.
    They called on the youth and students aspiring after patriotism and justice to dynamically fight as the vanguard to drive the U.S. imperialists out of South Korea at an early date.

U.S. assailed for listing DPRK as terrorist state

     Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- The U.S. Department of Justice recently included the DPRK on its list of countries posing great danger of terrorism. In this regard Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary says:
    This is part of the U.S. vicious operation to tarnish the international prestige of the DPRK and stifle and isolate it at any cost.
    By launching this anti-DPRK campaign over "terrorism" the U.S. seeks to escalate its racket over the "nuclear threat from North Korea" in a bid to accuse the DPRK of being "a dangerous state" and a "rogue state" and isolate and stifle it at any cost.
    The U.S. seems to try to accuse the DPRK of being a dangerous terrorist state and justify its hostile policy to stifle the DPRK with nukes. But it is the height of folly.
    The DPRK clarified more than once that it has nothing to do with terrorism and is strongly opposed to it.
    No one will lend an ear to the U.S. absurd assertion about the "nuclear issue" and the "issue of terrorism" in the DPRK. This will only lay bare the U.S. brazen-faced and vulgar nature as a nuclear warmonger and a kingpin of terrorism.
    The U.S. should bear this in mind and behave itself.

All Koreans called upon to demand U.S. accept DPRK's proposal

     Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- The north and south of Korea should unite and pool their efforts to pave the way for peace and reunification and prevent the outside forces from bringing nuclear disasters to them, says Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article. Whether the Koreans pool their efforts or not under the present grave situation is a very important issue related to the destiny of the nation and the prospect of independent reunification, the article says, and goes on:
    The north and the south should not step back in the way of protecting the common interests of the nation and implementing the idea of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration.
    Cooperation between the compatriots in the north and the south is the way of tiding over the grave situation prevailing in the country and achieving its peace and reunification. The north and the south should reject the sycophancy and dependence on outside forces and achieve the cooperation between compatriots in the spirit of the joint declaration.
    The past two years have born witness to the fact that if the north and the south uphold the motto "by our nation itself", it is possible to achieve independence and peace and bring earlier national reunification.
    The north and the south should reject the "cooperation" with outside forces and pool the efforts of the nation from a patriotic stand to successfully overcome all trials and difficulties in their way.
    They have conditions enough to bridge over the present difficulties. The door of dialogue is open and they have good agreements reached between them.
    Organizations for reunification movement and patriotic people in the north and the south and overseas should solidarize and unite with each other, transcending differences of ideas and isms, and thus increase the might of the anti-U.S. patriotic forces thousand times.
    The DPRK proposal for concluding a non-aggression treaty between the DPRK and the United States is the best way of settling the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula.
    All Koreans should merge their voices demanding the U.S. positively respond to the DPRK proposal at an early date.

Spokesman for DPRK Ministry of Education denounces U.S. military trial

     Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the DPRK Ministry of Education released a statement on Nov. 27 denouncing the unlawful trial held by the military court of the U.S. 8th army command, at which a verdict of "not guilty" was given to GI criminals, who drove an armoured car over girl students of South Korea to death. The statement said:
    The killers who deserve severe punishment were declared not guilty. This is the true picture of the U.S. and its jungle law.
    The U.S. is exercising an extraterritorial right after illegally occupying South Korea. It keeps committing such monstrous crimes as of driving over, beating and firing Koreans to death as it pleases. Not satisfied with this, the U.S. has kicked up a nuclear racket to exterminate the Korean nation. The U.S. is an empire of killers and evil and the sworn enemy of the Korean people.
    The verdict of not guilty given to the GI murderers can not be construed otherwise than an open declaration that the U.S. would continue the killing of Koreans in the future, too, to reduce South Korea into a sea of blood.
    If the U.S. thinks GI killers of guiltless Koreans will go scotfree, this will be the height of folly.
    All the educational workers in the DPRK will as always extend compatriotic support and solidarity to the educators and people in South Korea in their struggle to force the U.S. imperialist aggressors to pay for the blood shed by the girl students and drive them out of South Korea.

S. Korean organizations protest false trial

     Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- Several organizations of South Korea recently launched campaigns all at once to denounce the U.S. military court's arrogant act of giving a verdict of "not guilty" to GI criminals. The All-People Measure Committee for Sin Hyo Sun and Sim Mi Son, Girl Students Killed By a U.S. Armored Car on Nov. 25 launched a two million-strong signature campaign for holding a civilian trial of the murder case and conducted it among passers-by.
    The anti-U.S. Women's Society conducted a signature campaign denouncing the verdict of not guilty given to the GI criminals and hosted a photo exhibition on the killing of school girls in Myongdong, Seoul.
    The demand for punishing the GI criminals at the South Korean court was unanimously made by civic and public organizations in Pusan at a press conference, at a citizens rally in Kwangju and rallies in Taejon, Chunchon and Kunsan.
    Meanwhile, the co-executive chairmen and the executive members of the measure committee held a joint emergency meeting on Nov. 25 at which they released a people's action program including 7 points such as waging cyber-demonstrations against the White House, the U.S. Defense Department, the U.S. embassy and the U.S. Forces command in South Korea and organizing the day of struggle of people from all walks of life.
    14 citizens organizations including the citizens' solidarity for democratic society, the South Korean Federation of Women's Organizations, the Green Federation, the Women's Society for Peace and the Environment Movement Association on the same day called a joint press conference of civic organizations to denounce the verdict of not guilty given to GIs in South Korea who killed girl students by an armored car and demand the revision of the South Korea-U.S. status of forces agreement.

     Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- The four-way bookkeeping method is Korea's scientific and cultural heritage. It, developed in Songdo (Kaesong), the capital of Koryo, at the end of the 14th century, was widely used by the Korean people in economic activities in old times.
    Songdo, a major commercial city, was not only the center of the development of the commodity-money relations but also an international trade market.
    At that time, business activities were conducted on the basis of unified state currency and coins appeared, making it possible to account the management property with money. The double-entry bookkeeping method was invented under such conditions.
    According to the method, the whole of property was called Pongcha, the whole of money-making sources Kupcha, all the expenses and losses in business activities Sobi (consumption) and the whole of sale profits and interest on loan Riik (profits).
    The double-entry bookkeeping method was developed with the four ways as the basic means of bookkeeping.
    The method, created by the Korean people for the first time in the world, is a pride of the Korean nation.

Anniversary of LPDR marked

     Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- A friendly gathering was held at Korea-Laos Friendship Pyongyang Chongryu Middle School yesterday to mark the 27th anniversary of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. Present on invitation were Ambassador Chanpheng Sihaphom and other diplomats of the Lao embassy here.
    The gathering was also attended by officials concerned and teachers and students of the school.
    After looking round educational facilities of the school, the participants saw an art performance given by the students and conversed with each other, deepening the friendship.

Pine islets off Hongwon

     Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- There are three scenic islands off Hongwon county, South Hamgyong Province. They, caused by a crustal movement, are of great scientific significance.
    They are 15-30 metres above the sea level.
    According to historical data, they were low hills. But they turned into islets when the east coastal areas of Korea were surbmerged in the third period of the Cenozoic era.
    The rims of the granite-gnesis islets have been eroded by seawater to become precipitous cliffs.
    The islets have been called "pine islets" from old times because many pine trees have grown there despite of heavy sea wind.
    Many species of fish and shellfish are living around the islets.
    The three bridges were built to link the shore with an islet and islets with each other for convenience of holiday-makers. The islands are well preserved as natural products of the country.

Letter of protest to U.S. President

     Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- Martin Lotscher, chairman of the Swiss Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification, on Nov. 21 sent a letter of protest to U.S. President Bush. The United States should bear in mind that the DPRK will not disarm itself and no threat will bring the DPRK to its knees, it noted, and went on: The U.S. decision to stop the supply of heavy oil to the DPRK is an action of ditching the DPRK-U.S. Agreed Framework (AF) and the delayed construction of light water reactors is a violation of the AF.
    It is a legitimate right of the DPRK, a sovereign state, to posses nuclear weapons and more powerful ones than them for its self-defence to cope with the U.S. violation of the AF and its nuclear threat.
    The U.S. insolent demand that the DPRK "scrap its nuclear program" before dialogue is nothing but a plot to bring the DPRK to its knees.
    The United States should stop the new war moves at once and conclude a non-aggression treaty with the DPRK as proposed by it.
    The committee bitterly denounces the U.S. for its war moves threatening the DPRK and supports all the measures taken by the DPRK for self-defence.

U.S. and Japanese anti-DPRK moves under fire

     Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- A joint statement condemning the United States and Japan for their anti-DPRK moves was released on Nov. 21 by the Jordanian Workers' Communist Party, the National Action Front Party of Jordan, the Arab Committee for Solidarity with the Korean People and Support to Korea's Reunification, the Arab Center for the Study of Independent Idea in Jordan and the Arab leadership of the International Front against Zionism. The statement stressed that the vicious moves of the U.S. and Japan to strain the situation on the Korean Peninsula under the pretexts of nuclear and other issues go to prove that the unfriendly policies of those countries toward the DPRK remain unchanged. It denounced the hostile policy of the U.S. and Japan toward people's Korea and the Korean people as an insult to humankind and strongly urged them to stop the provocation.
    It expressed belief that the DPRK leadership and people would staunchly struggle to protect its interests and Asian and world security and peace.

     Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, President of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, today sent a message of greetings to Alfred Moisiu, President of Albania, on the National Day of his country. Expressing belief that the relations between the two countries would develop on good terms in the future, the message wished him success in the work for stability and prosperity of the country.
