Rodong Sinmun on Bush's secret order
Pyongyang, December 1 (KCNA) -- Recently U.S. President Bush issued a secret order to the U.S. special-ops troops to destroy arms supply lines of the DPRK, Iran and Iraq.
Rodong Sinmun today describes the order is an open declaration of war against the DPRK, an evidence that the frantic campaign mounted by the U.S. over "nuclear threat from North Korea" is a very reckless and dangerous one.
The news analyst says:
The secret order makes clearer what the U.S. seeks in dismissing the DPRK-proposed conclusion of a non-aggression treaty with the U.S. and trying to disarm the DPRK under the pretext of "threat from weapons of mass destruction."
The U.S. seeks to provoke a war against the DPRK and takes action to this end.
More dangerous, the order came when the U.S. efforts to stifle the DPRK over nuclear threat have gone to the extremes.
The DPRK cannot remain a passive on-looker to the grave situation.
Retaliation for "retaliation" and total war for "total war" -- this is a principle constantly maintained by the DPRK and its countermeasure for self-defense.
If the U.S. encroaches upon something belonging to the DPRK even a bit, the DPRK will consider it as the start of preemptive attacks and respond to it with determined and strong military countermeasure.
The DPRK has strength, means and practical will to respond to any mode of military operations. If they are displayed, the U.S. will feel regrettable for its action that will lead to its self-destruction.
Over 170 U.S. espionage flights
Pyongyang, December 1 (KCNA) -- The U.S. imperialists made more than 170 espionage flights against the DPRK in November involving high-altitude strategic reconnaissance planes, commanding planes, aircraft for special operations and tactical reconnaissance planes, according to military sources.
About 08:05 on Nov. 28 U-2 made shuttle flights over 120 km west of Tokjok islet, Phochon and 40 km east of Sokcho for hours for espionage on in-depth objects of the DPRK.
Almost every day Yankees called out RC-12 and RC-7B for espionage over posts and military establishments of the DPRK side in the military demarcation line.
In another development, in November they staged an anti-DPRK aerial war exercise in the sky over South Korea involving at least 1,700 fighters of all sorts from overseas and South Korean bases.
All the espionage flights and war gamble are dangerous as they came at a time when the Yankees tighten their offensive posture to attack the DPRK.
Verdict of not guilty flailed
Pyongyang, December 1 (KCNA) -- The U.S. imperialist aggressor troops in South Korea held what they call a trial to give verdict of not guilty to those who committed killings against humankind, which is an intolerable mockery and insult to the Korean people, says Rodong Sinmun today in a by-lined commentary.
The news analyst says:
In June last GIs in South Korea drove an armored car over two schoolgirls to death in broad daylight, but the U.S. military in South Korea described the killings as an "accident in the performance of official duty" and has not yet made an apology, far from punishing the killers.
It is a disgrace and tragedy to the Korean people that such aggressor troops are present in South Korea. With the Yankees in South Korea in the new century the people are suffering from such humiliation and the dignity and sovereignty of the nation are violated.
The realities call upon the Koreans to turn out in a more vigorous anti-American struggle to get rid of the disgrace of the nation and take their revenge on the Yankees in the name of Hyo Sun and Mi Son.
National unity called for
Pyongyang, December 1 (KCNA) -- The present situation urgently calls upon all the Koreans to turn out in a vigorous struggle to decisively check and frustrate the criminal moves of the U.S. imperialists to provoke war against the DPRK which is designed to infringe upon right to existence and sovereignty of the nation.
Rodong Sinmun today says this in a signed article.
It goes on:
No political party, organization, politician and businessman will not be affected by the imminent war. When a war breaks out in this land, it will bring big sacrifice and damage to all the Koreans in the north and the south.
In order to frustrate the aggression and war moves, all the fellow countrymen in the north, south and overseas should get united into one.
The north and the south solemnly vowed to achieve peace and reunification of the country with the united efforts of the nation in the June 15 joint declaration.
Flunkeyism and dependence on outsiders should be thoroughly rejected in the struggle to frustrate the aggression and war moves of the Yankees through the united efforts of the nation.
The army-based policy is not only for the DPRK. It is a patriotic policy to preserve dignity, security and interests of the whole nation including South Koreans. It also serves as a treasured sword of justice to deal a telling blow to aggressors infringing upon national sovereignty and right to existence.
Thanks to the steel-like self-defensive military power built under the army-based policy the peace has been ensured on the Korean Peninsula and the South Koreans have lived in peace under the DPRK's self-defensive umbrella.
Only when the fellow countrymen in the north, the south and overseas devotedly uphold the patriotic army-based politics in firm unity, the U.S. imperialists' arrogant and criminal policy of aggression on the DPRK will go busted.
Anti-U.S. rallies held in S. Korea
Pyongyang, December 1 (KCNA) -- Rallies were held all at once in 17 regions of South Korea including Seoul on Nov. 30, denouncing GIs for the murder of the two schoolgirls, according to the CBS of South Korea.
2002 solidarity rally was held in a park at university quarters, Seoul by members of the South Korean People's Solidarity for National Independence, Democracy and Right to Existence and students of the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils, at least 4,000 in all.
After the rally, over 2,000 members of the solidarity marched up to Jongmyo park from university quarters.
Prior to the rally, more than 100 students in Seoul and Kyonggi Province vowed to wage a struggle against the U.S. troops that gave the verdict of not guilty to the GI killers and had collective hair cutting with due ceremony.
U.S. unilateralism criticized
Pyongyang, November 30 (KCNA) -- Minju Joson today in a signed commentary says it is the strong public opinion on the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula that the issue should be solved through dialogue between the DPRK and the U.S.
The commentary goes on:
It is attributable to the U.S. policy to stifle the DPRK with nukes that the two countries stand in such sharp confrontation over the nuclear issue.
But for the U.S. policy to stifle the DPRK with nukes the nuclear issue would not have arisen between the DPRK and the U.S.
Nevertheless, the U.S. is busy with the false propaganda that the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula occurred owing to the DPRK's "nuclear program".
But, this only reveals its sinister nature.
If the U.S. is truly concerned for settling the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula, it should, first of all, opt for removing its threat to the DPRK's sovereignty and right to existence.
If the U.S. has no will to threaten the DPRK there is no reason for the former not to legally assure the latter of non-aggression.
As the world opinion asserts, the U.S. pressure and unilateral demand upon the DPRK can never help settle the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula.
The DPRK is closely watching the attitude of the U.S., the commentary concludes.
Revolutionary opera "The Flower Girl" staged 1,300 times
Pyongyang, November 30 (KCNA) -- 30 years have passed since the premiere of the revolutionary opera "The Flower Girl" adapted from the immortal classic "The Flower Girl."
It has been staged more than 1,300 times before workers, peasants, youth and students and working people from all other walks of life and foreigners and overseas compatriots and millions of people have enjoyed it.
As it teaches the truth that the exploited and oppressed should turn out on the road of struggle and revolution in order to carve out their destiny, the revolutionary opera has gripped the hearts of the people for its ever-increasing attraction and vitality.
The opera is based on the profound seed theory that a flower girl selling flowers out of sorrow and filial piety eventually comes out in a struggle and revolution. it raises a serious socio-political issue that any devotion and sympathy can't save the destiny of the poor including the family of Kottbun in a society where exploitation and oppression prevail.
Watching the opera, the audience grasps the truth that the people of a stateless nation and deprived of sovereignty are more dead than alive and only when they set out on the road of revolution to fight can they defend the sovereignty of the nation and enjoy a genuine life as an independent people.
The opera was staged in many countries including China, Japan, France, Italy and Algeria nearly 170 times, evoking a lively response among foreigners.
Joint organization against U.S., war and nukes holds rally
Pyongyang, November 30 (KCNA) -- The joint organization against the U.S., war and nukes grouping the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils, the south headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification, the Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration and the headquarters of All-People Movement for the Withdrawal of the U.S. Troops reportedly held a rally in Seoul on Nov 23 to implement the June 15 joint declaration and demand the conclusion of the DPRK-U.S. non-aggression treaty.
A declaration read out at the rally said that a peaceful solution to the nuclear issue is to conclude a non-aggression treaty between North Korea and the U.S. and urged the latter to accept the proposal for concluding the treaty and get out of this land taking with it its nuclear weapons.
Prior to the rally, students distributed anti-U.S., anti-war and anti-nuke literature to citizens and held a photo exhibition on the killing of schoolgirls.
KCNA assails dishonest behavior of Japanese right-wingers
Pyongyang, November 30 (KCNA) -- The right-wing reactionary forces of Japan are now getting evermore undisguised in their anti-DPRK moves.
The Defence Agency of Japan seeks to push ahead in real earnest with a joint research into the Missile Defence System with the United States at a time when the outcry that "Japan may fight a war with North Korea" is heard in Japan. And the commanding general for the ground self-defence force stationed in the western part of Japan has justified the Japan-U.S. joint military exercises as "ones to deter North Korean attack."
This bellicose behavior of Japan is arousing the DPRK's vigilance as it is a very dangerous move that may bring the military situation on the Korean Peninsula and its surrounding areas to the brink of a war.
These ill-boding military moves in Japan prompt the DPRK to feel deep apprehension about the fact that Japan's reinvasion policy, which had been persistently pursued over the past years, is reviving today.
The point at issue is the behavior of the Japanese right-wing reactionary forces quite contrary to the desire of the Korean and Japanese peoples to settle the unpleasant past between the two countries, solve the pending issues and establish fruitful political, economic and cultural relations.
Such deliberate and intentional, dishonest remarks made by those forces greatly threatening the peace and security of the DPRK can never be justified with anything.
What cannot be overlooked is the fact that they are hellbent on war moves to realize the strategic intention of the United States which is strengthening "international cooperation" in a bid to disarm the DPRK under the pretext of its "nuclear issue".
This is an expression of their cunning attempt to fish in troubled waters by acting a shock brigade to carry out the U.S. reckless strategy based on preemptive nuclear strikes and currying favor with it. The United States is now insisting on its assertion that the DPRK should scrap its "nuclear program" first, while turning down the latter's fair and aboveboard proposal for the conclusion of a non-aggression treaty between the two countries in a bid to bring the DPRK to its knees at any cost.
The Korean people and army are watching the anti-DPRK moves in Japan with heightened vigilance and making full readiness to counter them.
Now that Japan is zealously joining in the U.S. policy to isolate and stifle the DPRK, there is no need for the DPRK to show such magnanimity as maintaining moratorium on missile test fire any longer so as to clear security concerns of Japan.
The right-wing bellicose forces of Japan should not act rashly, clearly mindful that the Korean people's army and organs concerned of the DPRK are increasingly assertive for the reconsideration of the moratorium.
S. Korean authorities' anti-reunification action under fire
Pyongyang, November 30 (KCNA) --The South Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and the Federation of South Korean Trade Unions reportedly issued a joint statement on Nov. 21 denouncing the South Korean authorities for blocking the exchange and cooperation between workers of the north and the south.
The statement recalled that representatives of workers of the south and the north when they were attending the August 15 National Reunification Rally held in Seoul in August decided to hold the first round of the "meeting of representatives of workers of the south and the north for national reunification" in Pyongyang from Nov. 23 to 26.
But the government authorities at the instigation of the U.S. blocked their Pyongyang visit, far from rendering cooperation to the two trade unions in their efforts to achieve peace and reunification, the statement noted, and continued:
If they had the slightest will to implement the June 15 joint declaration, the declaration of independence and the great unity of the nation, they would not hamstring the efforts of the workers and other civilians and organizations for peace and reunification and bow to the undisguised call for war and confrontation.
We will dynamically advance along the road of exchange, cooperation and solidarity and the great national unity between the workers of the south and the north under the uplifted banner of the June 15 joint declaration.
Rodong Sinmun on army-based policy
Pyongyang, November 30 (KCNA) -- The people's army and people of Korea will certainly build a powerful socialist nation of Juche on this land holding aloft the banner of the army-based policy under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il, says Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article.
It goes on:
The army-based policy is an invincible banner to guarantee the struggle of the Korean people to build a powerful nation by increasing self-defensive military capacity in every way.
It is the historical truth that with the line of attaching importance to arms and military affairs a country, though small, can become a power and demonstrate the dignity of the nation.
The Korean people defended their idea, cause and system and opened a turning phase for building a powerful nation in the period of the "arduous march" and the forced march. The credit for this goes to strong arms. The prestige and might of the country were so great that no enemies could dare to undermine them. It is attributed to the great army-based policy.
There will be no change in the revolutionary stand to keep arms ahead of anything else, come what may, and build a powerful nation.
The army-based policy is a sure guarantee to strengthen the driving force of the building of a powerful nation and to give full play to its might. It is a motive force of creation and leap to bring miracles on all fronts.
The spectacular miracles and signal achievements in this land are unthinkable without the leading and vanguard role of the Korean People's Army.
