GI crimes condemned
Pyongyang, December 8 (KCNA) -- An America-visiting group of the All-People Measure Committee for Sin Hyo Sun and Sim Mi Son, Girl Students Killed By a U.S. Armored Car, went on an all-night hunger sit-in strike in front of the White House on Saturday, according to KBS of South Korea.
When the group was not allowed by the White House to hand a letter of protest to President Bush, it decided to go on an all-night hunger sit-in strike until the next day.
The group released an "article to people" on the spot expressing its will to seek a fundamental solution to the issue of GIs' crimes, declaring that the behaviour of the U.S. Government playing a trick through a stop-gap measure can never be pardoned.
Prior to this, the group called a press conference at the U.S. National Press Club to disclose the injustice of the murder of girl students and inequality of the South Korea-U.S. Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA).
According to Yonhap News of South Korea, the group held an exhibition of photos on the killing of the two girl students in front of the White House on December 5 and staged a silent demonstration.
Prior to this, the group paid a protest visit to the U.S. Department of Defense and met the South Korean delegation staying in the U.S. to participate in the South Korea-U.S. annual security consultative meeting, urging it to demand the U.S. side declare the U.S. military court's deceptive verdict of not guilty given to the GI killers invalid, transfer the jurisdiction to the South Korean court to punish the criminals, totally revise the sofa, etc.
After the demonstration the group again held a photo exhibition for Koreans in Virginia state.

Kurt Ebert, director of the board of the International Institute of the Juche Idea who is a professor of the university, was elected chief of the society.
At the ceremony he underscored the need to study and introduce the Juche idea founded by President Kim Il Sung and developed and enriched by General Secretary Kim Jong Il through scientific lectures and colorful functions, work hard to increase the ranks of adherents to the Juche idea and strengthen the solidarity with the Korean people.
A message of greetings to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the ceremony.
Defeat of Ri Hoe Chang in election called for
Pyongyang, December 8 (KCNA) -- The youth and students department of the central committee of the National Democratic Front of South Korea released an appeal on Dec. 5 calling on the youth and students in South Korea to defeat Ri Hoe Chang in the presidential election, according to Seoul-based radio Voice of National Salvation.
Noting that Ri's coming to power would bring about the second IMF crisis, the appeal said that if such a cold wind blows, youth in their twenties and thirties will be its victims before any others.
Diehard anti-reunification element for confrontation Ri Hoe Chang's seizure of power would spark a nuclear war to exterminate the whole nation, reduce the June 15 joint declaration to a dead document and the youth and students who want to live as the first generation after the country's reunification will fall victim to it before any others, the appeal said.
If second fascism rises after Ri comes to power, democracy on this land would be mercilessly trampled down and the youth and students be bound to chain again.
Emergency meeting of civic organizations held in Pusan
Pyongyang, December 8 (KCNA) -- An emergency meeting on the situation of representatives of over 70 civic organizations in Pusan was reportedly held on Dec. 5 to demand a total nullification of a verdict of not guilty given to GI criminals, punishment of them, Bush's open apology and overall revision of "South Korea-U.S. Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA)".
The meeting decided to hold different functions denouncing the U.S. troops for giving a verdict of not guilty to the GI criminals who drove an armored car over the two girl students, killing them.
The meeting decided to hold an "all-people meeting on the situation for a total nullification of the deceptive trial giving a verdict of not guilty, punishment of GI murderous criminals, Bush's open apology and overall revision of "SOFA" on Dec. 14.
And it declared a week of all-people action for four-point demand, and decided to hold functions for "day of students action", "day of youth action", "day of labor action", "day of women's declaration" and "day of men of culture and artists action" and conduct a declaration movement and propaganda activities.
U.S. Defense Secretary's reckless remarks under fire
Pyongyang, December 8 (KCNA) -- Minju Joson today in a signed commentary dismisses the groundless accusation made by U.S. Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld against the DPRK as sheer sophism revealing his wild design to stifle the DPRK.
The U.S. bellicose forces are well advised to behave with discretion, properly understanding who is its opponent, the commentary warns, and goes on:
He told a whopping lie recently that the DPRK is the world's biggest exporter of missile technology and a country threatening the world.
It is the trite method of the U.S. bellicose forces to groundlessly pull up others in a bid to attain their sinister aim.
The U.S. is not entitled to talk about the "nuclear threat" and the "missile threat" from someone. The U.S. has exported missile technology and lots of missiles to its allies and those countries subservient to it under the name of "joint research" and "military assistance," raking up huge profits.
Not content with this, The U.S. has accelerated the development of new types of missiles by spending an exorbitant amount of fund in a bid to establish the Missile Defense System (MD) aimed at its global military domination.
Nevertheless, the U.S. is shameless enough to accuse the DPRK of being the world's biggest exporter of missile technology. This is intended to divert elsewhere the people's attention focused on its frantic moves to establish the MD.
The reckless anti-DPRK smear campaign launched by the U.S. bellicose forces in a bid to achieve their sinister aim only once again lays bare their criminal nature.
If they persistently try to stifle the DPRK by force of arms, they will be held entirely accountable for all its ensuing consequences.
Japan urged to redress its past crimes
Pyongyang, December 8 (KCNA) -- Japan should reflect on its past crimes, feel responsible for them and meet the demand of human conscience on the lapse of 61 years since the start of the Pacific War, says Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article.
It goes on:
The Japanese reactionary forces should not forget the lesson taught by the Pacific War.
More than half a century has passed after the defeat of the Japanese imperialists. But Japan has not sincerely and clearly redressed its past crimes. This is quite contrary to human conscience calling for the liquidation of its past wrongs.
Japan is obliged to redress the crimes committed against Korea in the past. This is the focal point in owning its responsibility for the past aggression and war crimes.
The DPRK-Japan Pyongyang declaration was adopted as a result of Japanese Prime Minister Koizumi's visit to the DPRK.
This marked a landmark event as it meant a new start of the history of the DPRK-Japan relations. Japan's redress for its crimes is the core of the DPRK-Japan Pyongyang declaration and the master key to normalizing the DPRK-Japan relations.
Nevertheless, the dishonest forces and right-wing forces in Japan are hamstringing the implementation of the declaration from a negative stand on it. They are projecting such secondary and unessential matters as the issue of several kidnapped persons.
They did not bother to let loose provocative war outcries that the Japan-U.S. joint military drills are aimed to deter North Korean aggression and "Japan may fight a war against it under the pretext of its nuclear issue.
Confrontation and war will only lead Japan to ruin.
Anti-U.S. struggle unabated in South Korea
Pyongyang, December 7 (KCNA) -- People from all walks of life conducted dynamic anti-U.S. struggle in Seoul on Thursday, according to South Korean CBS.
That day the freight transport workers' union and the confederation of taxi drivers' unions comprising over 45,000 unionists staged a demonstration in front of the U.S. embassy, sounding horns all at once. They decided to hold such horn blaring demonstration every Thursday.
The South Korean Confederation of Trade Unions conveyed a protest letter on behalf of 1.3 million workers to the U.S. embassy, demanding U.S. President Bush's personal apology, the revision of the shackling South Korea-U.S. Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA), etc.
The organization declared that it would firmly solidarize with the all-people measure committee for Sin Hyo Sun and Sim Mi Son, girl students killed by a U.S. armoured car, in the future.
The unionists of the trade union of Hyundai Motors decided to hold a rally demanding the revision of SOFA at lunchtime.
Women's organizations actively joined in the anti-U.S. struggle.
On the same day 21 women's organizations including the Federation of Women's Organizations, the sisterhood society and the South Korean Women's Trade Union held a function demanding the revision of sofa on the opposite side of the U.S. embassy.
In the wake of catholic and Christian events Buddhists began a function demanding the U.S troops apologize for the killing of the girl students, etc.
U.S. hit for blocking inter-Korean exchange
Pyongyang, December 7 (KCNA) -- Prof. Kang Jong Gu at Dongguk University reportedly released an article on the U.S. purpose in blocking the inter-Korean exchange.
When the project of clearing mines in the Demilitarized Zone was kicked off in September, the commander of the U.S. 8th army asked the South Korean "Minister of Defence" to hold off the project of reconnecting the rail and road links and early in October instructed a high-ranking officer of the South Korean army concerned to "drag on the project", the article said.
The article asked whom this land belongs to and why outsider dares to instruct Koreans. It went on:
Why do the politicos and media on this land insist that the South Korea-U.S. cooperation should be placed before anything else for more than 50 years, even if the U.S. violates the sovereignty.
The U.S. is keen to isolate and stifle the north under the pretext of its nuclear issue.
As the U.S. attempt to kill North Koreans is designed to kill all the Koreans, the countermeasure is to foil the attempt by the concerted efforts of all the Koreans in the north and the south and for all of us to join in the struggle to this end.
That is the only way for me, my families, the people in the north and all other Koreans to remain alive.
U.S. accused of standing in way of Korea's reunification
Pyongyang, December 7 (KCNA) -- The DPRK National Reunification Institute released a white paper on Dec. 6 accusing the U.S. of more desperately blocking peace and reunification of Korea.
The U.S., displeased with the adoption of the historic June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, has worked hard to hamstring its implementation, the paper said, adding:
Upon hearing the news that the Pyongyang meeting of the top leaders of the north and the south had been scheduled under the April 8, 2000, inter-Korean agreement the U.S. blamed the South Korean authorities for not having a prior consultation with it.
But the historic Pyongyang summit resulted in the publication of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, a programme for the country's reunification in the new century, which calls for achieving the independent reunification of the country by the concerted efforts of the Korean nation.
The Bush ruling quarters officially informed the South Korean authorities of their intention not to allow them to have any contact and exchange with the north without their approval, complaining that the meeting between the north and the south without the U.S. consent is a serious development that should not be overlooked.
As soon as the bush administration emerged, it, in fact, ditched the DPRK-U.S. Agreed Framework and escalated its anti-DPRK campaign, singling out the DPRK as part of the "axis of evil" and a "rogue state" .
On June 6, 2001, U.S. President Bush issued the so-called "U.S. policy toward the DPRK" the keynote of which is the "DPRK's improvement of its compliance with the Geneva Agreement related to its nuclear activities including its past nuclear activities", "regulations to verify the DPRK's missile development", "reduction of its conventional military equipment", etc.
The "report on the nuclear posture" presented to U.S. Congress by the U.S. Defense Department said that in case of emergency, the U.S. Forces may use nuclear weapons against the DPRK and it is necessary to develop nuclear weapons of the next generation capable of destroying underground facilities in that case and it is also necessary to abrogate the nuclear test ban treaty to this end.
This goes to clearly prove that the Bush administration is set to openly mount a preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK, discarding even the signboard of "blockade and deterrent strategy" put up by the successive U.S. administrations.
Recently, Bush ordered the special units of the U.S. Forces to "destroy the channels of North Korea and other countries for the supply of weapons" under the pretext of the nuclear issue, thus revealing more saliently its attempt to invade the DPRK.
This tells that the U.S. military plot to attack the DPRK has reached the phase of its realization.
The Bush administration is working hard to derail at any cost the inter-Korean economic cooperation and the construction of light-water reactors and the supply of heavy oil under the DPRK-U.S. Geneva Agreement, claiming that these provide the DPRK with a leverage to survive economically.
When the project of reconnecting the rail and road links made brisk headway under an agreement and the clearing of mines in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) reached its final stage between the north and the south, the U.S. urged the north and the south to submit a list of their members to the "UN Forces Command," unreasonably faulting their crossing of the portion of the DMZ under the control of the north and the south for mutual verification according to the bilateral agreement.
By adopting the decision to stop the supply of heavy oil to the DPRK on Nov. 14 the Bush administration ditched the only article of the DPRK-U.S. Agreed Framework, which has been in the process of implementation.
All this proves that U.S. attempt to halt the construction of light-water reactors under the pretext of "nuclear suspicion" and the like after stopping the supply of heavy oil to the DPRK is not attributable to someone's "nuclear issue" but a product of the Bush administration's hostile policy toward the DPRK to stifle and economically subjugate the DPRK.
All these facts indicate that the U.S. is chiefly to blame for blocking peace, reunification, security and prosperity of the Korean Peninsula.
Letter of protest to Bush handed to U.S. Ambassador to S. Korea
Pyongyang, December 7 (KCNA) -- Assemblymen under the Measure Committee for Status of Forces Agreement from the South Korean Democratic Party visited the U.S. embassy in Seoul on December 3 and handed to the ambassador a letter of protest to Bush against the killing of two schoolgirls, according to KBS of South Korea.
The letter, signed by 21 assemblymen from the Democratic Party, demanded personal apology of President Bush for the incident, nullification of a verdict of not guilty given to GI criminals, transfer of jurisdiction, the revision of South Korea-U.S. Status of Forces Agreement, etc.
U.S. criticized for failing to implement AF
Pyongyang, December 7 (KCNA) -- Seleznyov, speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, at a press conference in Tokyo, Japan, on December 3 called for denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and accused the U.S. of failing to fulfill its obligation to the DPRK, according to Itar-Tass.
He said that the U.S. did nothing, failing to implement its obligation to provide two light water reactors to the DPRK for production of electric power in return for the DPRK stop of its nuclear program.
S. Koreans lodge protest in New York
Pyongyang, December 7 (KCNA) -- An America-visiting group of the All-People Measure Committee for Sin Hyo Sun and Sim Mi Son, Girl Students Killed By a U.S. Armored Car, was reported to have had an interview with a radio of Korean residents in New York on Dec. 3.
Han Sang Ryol, heading the group, said in detail how the girl students were killed and gave accounts of people's protest and crimes committed by U.S. troops stationed in South Korea over half a century.
As regards the murder case the South Koreans demand Bush's open apology, reinvestigation into the truth behind the case, the transfer of jurisdiction, the punishment of those responsible and the revision of the unequal South Korea-U.S. Status of Forces Agreement, he said.
The group talked with the former U.S. Secretary of Justice.
After signing his name to a document of an all-people signature campaign for the murder case of middle school girls by a U.S. armored car, the former secretary said that any status of forces agreement representing only the interests of one side would always be a stumbling block to peace. I have never seen the right of freedom and sovereignty in any countries where foreign forces are present, he said, adding that it is quite natural for the foreign troops to pull back.
The group also had an interview with U.S. Methodist priests.
Meanwhile, Korean residents in the U.S. joined the group in protesting.
Radio Korea, a radio of Korean residents in the U.S., broadcast in detail about widespread anti-U.S. struggle in South Korea.
Struggle against U.S. war moves called for
Pyongyang, December 7 (KCNA) -- The Society for Cooperation among Koreans in Germany and the European regional headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification on Dec. 1 adopted a letter calling upon the fellow countrymen in the north and south of Korea and overseas to turn out in the struggle against the war moves of the United States.
The letter said:
The U.S. troops have brought the Korean people unbearable sufferings and misfortune since the very day of their occupation of South Korea.
The United States is pushing the situation on the Korean Peninsula to the brink of a war after dubbing the DPRK part of an "axis of evil" and a "target of its preemptive nuclear attack."
It is the duty and the right of the Koreans in the south and the north and overseas to turn out as one to check and frustrate the U.S. attempt at "preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK."
It is truth that any Korean in the north and the south and overseas can not do otherwise in this struggle.
All the fellow countrymen should be responsible for making a proud history.
We once again call upon the fellow countrymen to respond to this appeal of history and join in the anti-war, anti-nuke struggle to defend the sovereignty and dignity of the nation.
We will decisively shatter any war moves of the United States and implement the June 15 joint declaration and thus achieve the cause of peaceful reunification.
