Millions of people visit revolutionary museum

     Pyongyang, December 25 (KCNA) -- An endless stream of servicemen and working people from all walks of life in the DPRK is visiting the revolutionary museum of the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces. The museum comprehensively shows the army-based revolutionary feats of Kim Jong Il and conveys long the history of the three generals of Mt. Paektu in leading the army building. It opened on January 19, Juche 76 (1987).
    According to the data available, the visitors to the museum numbered over 3,646,500 for the past 15 years.
    While visiting the museum, the servicemen and the working people vowed to glorify the era of the army-based policy led by Kim Jong Il, the great and illustrious commander born of heaven, bearing deep in mind the great pride and honor of making the revolution guided by him.

Sports tournament for "Osandok Cup" closes

     Chongjin, December 24 (KCNA) -- The sports tournament for "Osandok Cup" which opened on Dec. 10 on the occasion of the 85th birth anniversary of Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese war woman hero, was closed. Men and women players of the Amnokgang Sports Group placed first in the basketball matches among teams of the group A by playing a fast game.
    Men players of the sports group of the Chollima Steel Complex and women players of the sports group of South Hamgyong Province respectively came first in the basketball matches among teams of the group B.
    A closing ceremony of the tournament took place at the North Hamgyong Provincial Gymnasium on Dec. 24.
    Jong In Chol, vice-chairman of the Korean Physicial Culture and Sports Guidance Commission, made a speech at the ceremony.

Anti-U.S. movement called for

     Pyongyang, December 25 (KCNA) -- Yun Ki Jin, chairman of the south headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification (Pomchonghakryon), in an appeal on Dec. 22 reportedly called upon the South Korean youth and students to turn out in an all-out anti-U.S. struggle. Recalling that what the U.S. troops have done in South Korea is nothing but killing, plunder and rape, the appeal noted that the people are turning out in the anti-U.S. struggle to put an end to the disgraceful colonial history.
    If all Koreans are to escape a nuclear disaster it is necessary for the youth and students to exert all efforts to shatter the U.S. moves to unleash a nuclear war against the north and increase their role in encouraging all the people to turn out in the struggle to force the U.S. troops to withdraw from South Korea, said the appeal.
    The appeal called upon the youth and students to devote their patriotic enthusiasm to the joint struggle of Pomchonghakryon, the all-out anti-U.S. struggle under the uplifted banner of the anti-U.S., anti-war and anti-nuke struggle and thus bring about a bright future of the nation in 2003.

U.S. hostile policy toward DPRK denounced

     Pyongyang, December 25 (KCNA) -- The Federation of Workers, the Democratic Youth Union and the Dar Al Talia Publishing House in Lebanon released a joint statement on Dec. 16, denouncing the united states for its moves to stifle the DPRK. Recalling that the U.S. singled out people's Korea as part of an "axis of evil" and threatened to make a preemptive nuclear attack on it, the statement said that any attempt of a un member country, fancying itself as a great power, to crush other member country by arms should be eradicated.
    All the UN member countries should respect each other with equal rights and make joint efforts to promote peace and security among them, it stressed.

Worldwide criticism of U.S. gets stronger

     Pyongyang, December 25 (KCNA) -- The international community is becoming increasingly critical of the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK and warning it of its adverse consequences. Foreign policy analysts and personages in different countries are unanimous in their views that the U.S. loud-mouthed fiction of North Korea's "nuclear program" and its assertion that dialogue with Pyongyang is possible only after it scraps its "nuclear program" are aimed to put the Korean Peninsula under its control and create a favorable atmosphere and conditions for carrying out its strategy to dominate Asia.
    The Finnish Kominform News Agency in an article posted on its internet homepage dismissed North Korea's "nuclear suspicion" as a pretext invented by the Bush administration to mount a military attack on it. It called on the international community to closely follow the moves taken by the U.S. after groundlessly kicking up a nuclear racket.
    Harising Khang, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in a statement said that what the U.S. truly seeks in raising a hue and cry over North Korea's "nuclear issue" is to destroy the economy of the DPRK and stifle its socialism.
    The Dec. 13 issue of the British newspaper Guardian in an article on the situation on the Korean Peninsula said that such world-stunning announcements made by North Korea as its declaration on resuming the operation of its nuclear facilities and its statement accusing the U.S. of its operation to seize a DPRK ship carrying missile parts that ended in failure convinced the world how difficult it is to deal with the North Korean Government.
    North Korea is stunning its rivals stronger than itself in a do-or-die spirit, far from yielding to them, and winning victory by employing strategies and tactics more skillful than theirs. It also said that the U.S. and its allies might have miscalculated, quoting a military expert as saying that the outside world does not understand the psychology of North Korea and it will not bend its knees.
    Many other countries are warning bush, accustomed to superpower behaviour and seized with war fever, to behave with discretion, well aware of North Korea's attitude toward the U.S.
    Even the most conservative diplomats of the U.S. are criticizing Bush's policy, saying that a war with the DPRK is unimaginable and horrible consequences to be entailed in case North Korea burning with revengeful thought takes military actions compels the U.S. to reconsider the war option. Even a limited military attack on a nuclear power plant arouses apprehensions as the DPRK may regard it as a declaration of war, it added.

Many industrial fine art works created

     Pyongyang, December 25 (KCNA) --A large number of industrial fine art works have been created in Korea. According to data available, some 1,750 brand and packing designs, hundreds of designs of industrial goods and architectural and environmental decoration designs have been created this year as required by the new century and the modern aesthetic taste of the people. They are Juche-based, national and very useful.
    The industrial fine art centers of the machine-building domain have created "Huichon Lathe No. 5", "Huichon Lathe No. 10", "Kusong Lathe 125-160" and other designs of machines.
    The outside shape and internal decorations of passenger cars made at the Kim Jong Thae Electric Locomotive Plant on the basis of new designs suit the travelers' fancy and feelings and serve their convenience.
    The light industrial fine art production of the ministry of light industry has drawn more than 2,100 designs of goods, brands and packing including those of a bottle of basic foodstuff and its brand.
    In particular, designs of various kinds of clothes, shoes, household utensils and daily necessities are very popular for the high degree of their artistic quality and practical use.
    The Paektu Museum, Chonji Health Complex and other public buildings and dwelling houses in Samjiyon were built on the basis of new architectural and decoration designs to suit the features of the area and modern aesthetic taste of people.
    The Yonggwang Street in Pyongyang is now taking a new look on the basis of peculiar industrial fine art designs.

Fine liquid glass developed

     Pyongyang, December 25 (KCNA) -- The company of industrial technology under the academy of sciences of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has made fine liquid glass which has a good property and can be used widely. Its main ingredient is natural quartz. With 99.98 percent of purity, it is as fine as the best one in the world.
    The glass has a very little amount of iron but a strong adhesive strength. It, mixed with various kinds of inorganic paints, is good materials to paint ironware and structures to keep them from being rotten.
    It is effective in considerably expanding the serviceable life of ship equipment that is always under water or gets damp. The newly developed glass is now being used widely in the textile, chemical and other industrial sectors of the country.

Commemorations held

     Pyongyang, December 25 (KCNA) -- A music and dance performance "We will uphold with arms the great brilliant commander pursuing the army-based policy" was given by the Korean People's Army song and dance ensemble at the April 25 House of Culture on Dec. 24 on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of Kim Jong Il's assumption of the KPA Supreme Commandership. Leading officials of the Workers' Party of Korea, the state and the army, chairpersons of the friendly parties and overseas compatriots enjoyed the performance.
    The performers highly appreciated Kim Jong Il's dynamic army-based revolutionary leadership and immortal exploits through various numbers including a female trio with male Pangchang "Our General is Best" and a male solo with male Pangchang "The Red Ridge Chol".
    Also put on the stage were numbers reflecting the unshakable faith and determination of the army and people to wipe out any aggressors at a single blow and promote the cause of building a powerful nation and national reunification under the army-based revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Il.
    Meanwhile, a dancing party of youth and students in Pyongyang was held on the same day.

U.S. piracy against DPRK trading cargo ship assailed

     Pyongyang, December 25 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary brands the piracy committed by the U.S. imperialists against the DPRK trading cargo ship Sosan on routine voyage in the open sea on Dec. 10 as an unpardonable infringement upon the sovereignty of the DPRK, an independent state. The commentary goes on:
    They committed inhuman outrages against the DPRK trading cargo ship after seizing it by force of arms under an absurd pretext. This goes to prove that they are the kingpin of international piracy, the world's worst violator of human rights and moneygrubbers keen on looting valuables.
    With nothing can the U.S. justify such state terrorism and piracy against the DPRK.
    The U.S. should apologize for its high-handed piracy against the DPRK and properly compensate the ship and its crew for all mental and material damage done to them.
    If the U.S. continues behaving dastardly in a bid to evade its responsibility for the crime, it will stand more disgraced and isolated internationally.

Anniversary of Kim Jong Il's work marked

     Pyongyang, December 25 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Wednesday dedicates an article to the 7th anniversary of Kim Jong Il's work "Respecting the Forerunners of the Revolution is a Noble Moral Obligation of Revolutionaries." The work, published on Dec. 25, Juche 84 (1995), clarifies it is a noble moral obligation and a duty of revolutionaries to respect forerunners of the revolution.
