This is a military move targeted against the DPRK, CNN added.

U.S. hostile policy toward DPRK lambasted
Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- A rally was held in Moscow on Jan. 24 to denounce the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK and support the Korean people in their just struggle.
The first vice-chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, the leader of the socio-political movement "Russia's Breakthrough" and other speakers accused the Bush administration of working hard to stifle the DPRK under the pretext of the non-existent nuclear issue.
The U.S. persistent and vicious hostile policy toward the DPRK is now being totally frustrated as it is led by Kim Jong Il possessed of iron will and outstanding far-sightedness, they noted, and continued:
It is a daydream for the U.S. to dare mount a nuclear attack on the dignified and powerful DPRK and force it to give in.
They strongly demanded the bush administration negotiate with the DPRK on an equal and fair footing without delay.
That day a meeting took place in Komsomolsk-on-Amur to support the DPRK Government's statement.
KPA servicemen vow to step up combat preparations
Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- The servicepersons of the three services of the Korean People's Army are renewing their firm resolution to become one-beats-a-hundred fighters under the slogan "Let the entire army step up the preparations for a life-and-death battle against the U.S. imperialists" they are fully determined to wipe out the arrogant U.S. aggressors and achieve great victory once an order comes from supreme commander Kim Jong Il.
This confidence was manifested by rallies of servicemen in different units of the KPA.
The rallies were held in response to the call made by the servicemen on Mt. Taedok on the forefront for effecting collective innovations in rounding off the combat preparations holding higher the slogan "a-match-for-a hundred" put up by President Kim Il Sung.
An appeal to the servicepersons of the KPA three services adopted at a rally held by servicepersons on Mt. Taedok was read out at the rallies to be followed by speeches.
Speakers said that the reckless and arrogant moves of the U.S. imperialists to stifle the DPRK prompt the KPA, the army based on justice and patriotism, to wage a life-and-death battle with the U.S.
Noting that the implementation of the slogan "a-match-for-a hundred" guarantees invincible might of the revolutionary army of Mt. Paektu and its sure victory, they called for intensifying the training to devotedly protect the leader as the servicemen on Mt. Taedok do.
The entire defence line of the country is impenetrable and the anti-U.S. struggle is sure to be crowned with victory as long as there is the one-beats-a-hundred revolutionary army led by Kim Jong Il, they declared.
Vietnamese Ambassador hosts reception
Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- Vietnamese Ambassador to the DPRK Do Thi Hoa hosted a reception at the embassy on Thursday on the occasion of the birthday of Kim Jong Il.
Addressing the reception, she said that Kim Jong Il, born of severe tempest, is carrying forward the revolutionary cause of Juche pioneered by President Kim Il Sung to lead the Korean revolution to victory.
She continued:
The fraternal people's army and people of Korea have achieved many successes in the building of a powerful socialist nation and in the movement for independent and peaceful reunification of the country.
The traditional relations of friendship between the two parties, two governments and two peoples of Vietnam and Korea were provided by Kim Il Sung and President Ho Chi Minh and the relations have consistently developed amid the deep concern of Kim Jong Il and leading officials of Vietnam.
Yang Hyong Sop, Vice-President of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, in a speech said that the birth of Kim Jong Il, as son of guerillas on Mt. Paektu, a holy mountain of revolution, was a great fortune of the Korean people blessed with illustrious leaders and generals generation after generation for the first time in the 5,000-year history of the nation and a historic event that opened a bright future for accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche.
The Korea-Vietnam friendship provided by Kim Il Sung and Ho Chi Minh has developed century after century and Kim Jong Il's meeting with President Tran Duc Luong on a visit to the DPRK in May last year serves as a new landmark in further developing the traditional friendship to meet the requirements of the new century, he said.
He wished the Vietnamese people greater success in their work to build prosperous socialist Vietnam, following the last instructions of Ho Chi Minh.
KCNA urges U.S. to respond to direct talks with DPRK
Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- The U.S. was reported to have persistently peddled its assertion that the issue of the DPRK should be discussed at "multilateral talks" involving five permanent members of the UN Security Council.
The DPRK is strongly opposed to this assertion as it is aimed at evading the U.S. responsibility for the nuclear issue and using it as a leverage for international pressure on the DPRK.
The nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula is, in essence, a product of the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK.
The noisy anti-DPRK nuclear racket kicked up by the U.S. is intended to charge the DPRK with "nuclear weapons development" and thus mislead the world public opinion in a bid to isolate and stifle it at any cost.
Pursuant to the hostile strategy to stifle the DPRK, the U.S. is blatantly challenging the DPRK's efforts for peace and straining the situation on the peninsula, driving the DPRK-U.S. confrontation to an extreme pitch of tension.
The U.S. is, therefore, responsible for removing the main threat to the DPRK's sovereignty and right to existence.
Despite this hard reality, the U.S. is working hard to flee from its responsibility under the signboard of "multilateral talks".
This is clear from the fact that the U.S. sent "special envoys" to a number of countries to hold bilateral and multilateral security meetings, clamouring for international "coordination" and "cooperation" after peddling its assertion that the DPRK should scrap its "nuclear program" before dialogue. This is nothing but a sinister design to put the DPRK in an international siege.
It is the only best solution to the nuclear issue for the DPRK and the U.S. to have direct talks on an equal footing.
These talks alone will help settle the hostile relations between the two countries and peacefully and fairly solve the nuclear issue in the interests of the two peoples in conformity with the trend of the development of international relations.
Kimjongilia blooms in Korea
Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- Kimjongilia has come into full bloom in all parts of the country with the 7th Kimjongilia Show to be opened in Pyongyang on February 12.
The Ministry of the People's Armed Forces, the Ministry of People's Security, the State Planning Commission and other institutions are now ready to present flowers to the show.
A large number of families throughout the country are cultivating Kimjongilia in spite of cold weather.
The flower bred by a Japanese horticulturist Motoderu Kamo after two decades of efforts has been propagated and cultivated in Korea since February Juche 77 (1988).
There are hundreds of Kimjongilia greenhouses in the country.
The flower has also been cultivated in tens of countries.
In May 1991, the flower was awarded the gold medal and special prize in the 12th International Flower Show held in Bratislava, the Slovakia.
U.S. premeditated military moves for aggression lambasted
Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- The U.S. Department of Defense is thinking about sending an aircraft carrier to the waters off the Korean Peninsula in the wake of the deployment of carrier Kitty Hawk.
The U.S. Secretary of Defense ordered 24 B-52 and B-1 bombers to get ready to move to Guam island to "support" the U.S. troops stationed in South Korea in order to cope with "emergency on the Korean Peninsula." The U.S. command in South Korea ordered thousands of U.S. officers and men to extend their stay in South Korea even after the expiry of their service term.
This is an "urgent measure" taken allegedly to cope with a "contingency."
In this regard Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary says:
These moves are a blatant challenge to all Koreans in the north and the south who seek a peaceful solution to the nuclear issue as they indicate that the U.S. intention to stifle the DPRK by force has become clearer.
The United States is the author of the nuclear issue. It is claimed that it would not start a war against North Korea in a bid to soothe the public opinion at home and abroad concerned about the crisis, while contemplating about an adventure to invade the DPRK.
This goes to prove that the United States has no intention to peacefully settle the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula and its nuclear row is aimed to get a pretext to stifle the DPRK.
The U.S. is resorting to military means to implement its hostile policy to destroy the system in the DPRK. This situation compels the DPRK to take due precaution and a counter-measure.
The United States is well advised to stop at once such dangerous military campaign, bearing in mind that its war against the DPRK will be hopeless.
U.S. hit for bolstering its armed forces around Korean Peninsula
Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland issued a statement on Feb. 6 denouncing the United States for its moves to massively beef up its armed forces around the Korean Peninsula.
Recently the U.S. Defense Department decided to move more than 2,000 airforce personnel and 24 "B-52" and "B-1" bombers to Guam island under the pretext of "support" to the U.S. Forces in South Korea.
It also additionally deployed ten odd fighter bombers and u-2 reconnaissance planes in units of the U.S. Forces in South Korea and Japan and decided to dispatch another aircraft carrier Carlvinson to the waters off the Korean Peninsula under the pretext that carrier Kitty Hawk on standby in the waters may join the Iraqi war.
This is an extremely dangerous military move that can be seen only on the eve of a war or in the wartime, the statement said, and went on:
It is indisputable that as long as the U.S. Forces remain in South Korea, neither peace nor security can be ensured on the Korean Peninsula nor can the Koreans live in peace.
The grave situation where there is the real danger of a new war created by the U.S. imperialists on the Korean Peninsula goes to more clearly prove that there exists on the peninsula only confrontation between the Korean nation and the United States.
If the U.S. moves to bolster aggression troops are unchecked, the whole land of Korea will be reduced to ashes and the Koreans will not escape horrible nuclear disasters.
All the Koreans in the north, the south and abroad should turn out as one in the struggle to check and frustrate the U.S. arms buildup, clearly mindful that the more aggression troops the U.S. imperialists deploy in South Korea, the greater misfortune and pain the Korean nation will suffer.
Bush's anti-DPRK vituperation under fire
Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- Bush came under fire by a signed commentary of Rodong Sinmun today for speaking ill of the political system in the DPRK and groundlessly accusing it of developing nuclear weapons and deceiving the world in his recent "state of union address" dealing with the U.S. national policy.
The commentary goes on:
Bush termed the system in the DPRK a sort of "oppressive regime". This is an intolerable mockery of the Korean people, a brazen-faced interference in its internal affairs and a blatant challenge to justice.
His reckless remarks only go to prove that he is a political imbecile bereft of any political vision and awareness of the times and, at the same time, a despicable swindler.
The DPRK does not deceive the world nor blackmail the U.S. to put it in panic as claimed by Bush.
The Bush regime is the most repressive regime in the world and it is the U.S. which is putting humankind in the greatest nuclear panic in the world.
The arsenals in the U.S. have a stockpile of more than 20,000 nuclear weapons. Not content with this, the U.S. keeps developing and producing new type of nuclear weapons.
It is brigandish standards applied by the U.S. to groundlessly term those countries which incur its displeasure "repressive regimes."
The Korean people will never remain a mere onlooker to the U.S. moves to topple the socialist system in the DPRK.
The DPRK will never allow anyone to infringe upon its sovereignty and the dignity and its political system.
The army and the people of the DPRK will do everything they can to defend their socialism.
Japan's concealment of plutonium under fire
Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- A lot of plutonium was reported to have been missing from Japan recently despite international supervision and control, arousing deep concern of the international community. In this regard a spokesman for the DPRK General Department of Atomic Energy released a statement on Friday.
The statement said:
206kg of plutonium reported to be missing is enough to make 25 nuclear bombs.
As regards this incident the Japanese authorities have not yet clarified the cause of their missing and whereabouts.
The Japanese authorities which claim that they have honestly received nuclear inspection have nothing to say except asserting that such a large amount of plutonium went "missing all of a sudden."
This does not stand to reason.
This is not understandable, given the fact that the "supplementary protocol to follow up the safeguards agreement" which calls for reinforcing the inspection regulations of the past has been in force in Japan since December of 1999.
This incident reminds one of the abnormal incident in which 70kg of plutonium which had not been reported to the IAEA was discovered at the Tokai Nuclear Fuel Factory in Japan, 1994, stunning the world.
The frequent cases of concealing plutonium in Japan go to prove what a dangerous phase Japan's nuclear weaponization, a matter of serious concern of the international community for many years, has reached.
What is arousing suspicion surrounding this incident is the attitude of the United States and the IAEA.
The U.S. and the IAEA which have been so vociferous about the nuclear activity of the DPRK for peaceful purposes are moving heaven and earth to calm down the international criticism and concern over the disclosed case of concealing plutonium in Japan.
Even the director general of the IAEA has come out to defend Japan for no reason over this incident, saying that it thinks the nuclear substance has not flown from the factory to elsewhere.
All facts go to clearly prove that the U.S. and the IAEA are applying double standards in handling the nuclear issue to achieve their political purpose.
The nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula now getting serious day by day is a product of the U.S. hostile policy towards the DPRK and the double standards and partial attitude of the IAEA, its cat's paw.
The double standards applied by the U.S. and the IAEA in dealing with the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula and the nuclear issue of Japan only make the settlement of the issues more difficult.
