Japan hit for its reckless remarks

Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- Shortly ago, the Japanese government said that it would help the United States by taking charge of aerial espionage on the DPRK during the Iraqi war. Pursuant to this, the Japan Defense Agency decided to set up a "headquarters of emergency measure" and use an aerial alert and control plane of its air "self-defense force" for intensifying "alert and watch" on the DPRK.
Minju Joson on Tuesday in a signed commentary terms this a reckless move of those seized by extreme hostility toward the DPRK. The commentary goes on:
Aerial espionage against a sovereign state is an act of encroaching upon its sovereignty.
The Japanese reactionaries decided to take upon themselves aerial espionage against the DPRK in a sinister bid to take advantage of the present complicated and tense situation for realizing their invariable ambition.
There exist between the DPRK and Japan the deep-rooted hostile relations, a product of the crime-woven past of Japan.
The hearts of the army and the people of the DPRK are always burning with the determination to force Japan to pay for its past crimes a thousand times.
The DPRK is fully capable of doing so. But it is exercising patience out of maximum magnanimity. It is as clear as noonday that Japan will get nothing by provoking the DPRK.
Yet, the Japanese reactionaries are zealously following the U.S. moves to militarily stifle the DPRK. This will only precipitate their self-destruction.
If they persist in their reckless moves to reinvade Korea, backed by the U.S., they will have to pay dearly for this.

U.S. escalates espionage flights against DPRK in March

Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- The U.S. imperialist warhawks committed more than 220 espionage flights against the DPRK in March. Many strategic and tactical reconnaissance planes of various missions were involved in them.
RC-135 strategic reconnaissance plane spied on areas deep in the DPRK and its major military targets on the east coast while U-2 high-altitude strategic reconnaissance plane and RC-135 strategic reconnaissance plane photographed strategic targets of the DPRK and spied on them by using electronic devices.
E-3 plane commanded pursuit assault planes and fighter bombers and spied on military targets of the DPRK in the fore-frontal areas. EP-3 electronic reconnaissance plane flew above the east and west coasts searching underwater. RC-12 and RC-7B tactical reconnaissance planes spied on the frontal and coastal line areas.
Meanwhile, the U.S. imperialists carried out aerial war exercises under the simulated conditions of a war against the north as part of Foal Eagle and Rsoi war exercises in March.
They transferred more than 50 strategic reconnaissance planes, refueling tankers, electronic jamming planes, special operational planes, pursuit assault planes and fighter bombers from the U.S. mainland and overseas bases to South Korea to be involved in these exercises for a war of aggression. They also mobilized a F-117 stealth fighter bomber in a drill to attack land targets, supported by E-3 control plane. And they hurled F-117 stealth and F-16 fighter bombers into a drill of getting familiar with topographical conditions and a drill of supporting the front.
The aerial war exercises were a very dangerous mobile exercise intended to secure the command of air by the U.S. air force, increase the capability of its preemptive attack and contain the DPRK at an initial stage in case of "contingency."
The aerial espionage and war exercises go to clearly prove that the U.S. is going to invade the DPRK at the end of the Iraqi war.

KCNA refutes anti-DPRK bill adopted at U.S. Congress

Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- The U.S. continues interfering in the internal affairs of the DPRK, talking about its "suppression of religion" and "human rights issue." The U.S. not only groundlessly accused the DPRK of "suppressing religion" but adopted a "bill on the human rights in North Korea" at congress and referred it to the UN commission on human rights recently. The DPRK strongly protests against these actions.
The U.S. is citing the "nuclear issue" and "religious and human rights issues" in the DPRK, fictions, as pretexts to increase pressure upon the DPRK and launch a military attack on it. Such crafty trick can never be tolerated.
The people of the DPRK are single-heartedly united as a big harmonious family because religious freedom and human rights are fully guaranteed by law. With nothing can the U.S. justify its groundless accusation against the DPRK and it will only invite condemnation of unbiased world public.
As the international community is unanimous in denouncing the U.S. over its religious and human rights issues the U.S. is not in a position to fault other countries over those issues.
The U.S. has, indeed, the poorest human rights record. In the U.S. murder is committed once in every 24 minutes, rape once in every 5 minutes and violence once in every 18 seconds.
The U.S. human rights abuses are clearly evidenced by its war moves for carrying out its strategy to dominate the world.
Its wars against Islamic Afghanistan and Iraq are a clear proof of its typical religious and human rights abuses as it regards heretics as a group of satans on the basis of Christian fundamentalism.
It is universally known that an infringement upon the sovereignty of a country by a military attack is the gravest violation of human rights of its people.
The U.S., which is killing innocent people after violating the sovereignty of Iraq, is faulting other countries, behaving as if it were a human rights judge. How brazen-faced and ridiculous it is.
The Korean people, deeply aware of the superiority of Korean-style socialism chosen by themselves and regarding it as their life and soul, are increasing the self-defensive capacity by all means.
The DPRK will certainly frustrate the U.S. military moves to stifle it and protect the socialist system to the last.

Struggle against troop dispatch mounts in S. Korea

Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- Struggle against the passage of a "motion calling for troop dispatch" to the Iraqi war through the "National Assembly" was reportedly held in Seoul on Mar. 28. Disclosing the aggressive and brutal nature of the Iraqi war, they repeatedly demanded the withdrawal of the plan to dispatch troops to the war.
Meanwhile, workers in the field of transportation affiliated to the South Korean confederation of trade unions drove large trucks and taxis, staging a shuttling honking demonstration near the building of the "National Assembly."
The participants of a meeting expressed their will to continue their action till the "motion calling for troop dispatch" has been withdrawn.
48 farmers' organizations including the South Korean Federation of Peasants Associations had a press conference and joined in the struggle against the troop dispatch. 12 organizations including the Citizens Federation For Economic Justice held a citizens' rally in protest against the invasion of Iraq and for the withdrawal of the plan for troop dispatch.
The struggle against the troop dispatch also mounted high at universities.
The General Student Council of Yonsei University held a rally at the campus and released a statement opposing the troop dispatch. That day the General Student Councils of Seoul National University and Ehwa Woman's University conducted an opinion poll on student strike against the troop dispatch.
Leading members of the joint action for peace against war grouping over 700 civic and social organizations held a press conference in front of the building of the "National Assembly" on Mar. 26 demanding the complete withdrawal of the "motion calling for troop dispatch" to the Iraqi war.
The Seoul district federation of university student councils made public a statement titled "the national assembly, stop handling the motion for troop dispatch to the Iraqi war, an act of flunkeyism and submission to the U.S." on Mar. 28.

KCNA blasts Japan's reckless call for "preemptive attack"

Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- Ishiba, director general of the Defence Agency of Japan, reportedly called for a "preemptive attack on the missile launching site" on March 30 during his South Korea visit, raising a hue and cry over the DPRK's missile launch. His outcry is a serious infringement upon the sovereignty of the DPRK and can not but touch off bitter anti-Japanese sentiment among the Korean people as it undisguisedly revealed Japan's attempt to mount a preemptive attack upon the DPRK.
As already clarified by the DPRK more than once, the DPRK's production and deployment of missiles are aimed at increasing its self-defensive capability. This can in no way be a threat to those countries which do not attack it.
Nevertheless, Japan cried out for a preemptive attack on the DPRK over its "missile threat". Such behavior of Japan clearly suggests what a dangerous phase its wild ambition to reinvade Korea has reached.
The Japanese bellicose forces' talk about "preemptive attack" is by no means fortuitous. This is clearly evidenced by the recent escalated military moves of Japan against the DPRK.
The Japanese reactionaries recently launched a spy satellite targeted against the DPRK by using a large carrier rocket H-2A.
Legal arrangements are being made to decide on necessary formalities to intercept ballistic missile, etc.
The Japanese authorities and political circles are becoming increasingly assertive that if North Korea launches a missile, it should be intercepted or new "sanctions" be taken. And military hardware is being deployed in the waters off the Korean peninsula to monitor and intercept the missiles launch. The Japanese bellicose forces' call for a preemptive attack upon the DPRK came against this backdrop. This is a development posing a serious threat to the DPRK.
What merits a serious attention is that Japan is acting a shock brigade in carrying out the U.S. strategy of preemptive attack on the DPRK, zealously following the U.S. moves to stifle it.
Japan's chiming in with the U.S. call for a preemptive attack on the DPRK is aimed to spark "U.S.-led second Iraqi war" on the Korean Peninsula and fish in troubled waters.
All this goes to clearly prove that Japan, still regarding the DPRK as its enemy, is refusing to redeem its past crimes and watching for every chance to reinvade Korea in gross violation of the spirit of the DPRK-Japan Pyongyang Declaration calling on both sides to refrain from threatening each other.
The DPRK has self-defensive capacity strong enough to beat back any enemy's preemptive strike at a single blow.
Japan is well advised to behave with discretion, well aware that its preemptive attack on the DPRK will only lead to its self-destruction.

U.S. invariable ambition for world supremacy

Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- The United States, regardless of protest of many governments and people of the world, started a war against Iraq. The military operation, ignoring the United Nations, is a war of aggression backed by no proper reason. It, which has reduced international law into dead wood, eloquently shows how arrogant the U.S. imperialists are in their high-handed practice for world supremacy.
They, basing themselves on jungle law, invaded Dominican Republic in 1965, Grenada in 1983, panama in 1989 and other small and powerless countries.
Until 1990 they used armed forces 137 times in the Latin American and Caribbean regions.
They have conspired against presidents of sovereign states, interfered in the internal affairs of the countries and even used armed forces for their unreasonable demand and purpose.
They have also imposed all kinds of sanctions on the anti-American countries and unhesitatingly made military attacks on them.
Their aggressive and predatory nature has remained unchanged.
The present U.S. administration's reckless policy of war makes the Korean people feel again that they should not make the slightest concession to the imperialists but fight the aggressors and win victory.
The U.S. imperialists are now trying to inveigle the international community into putting pressure on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea under the pretext of its non-existent "nuclear development program".
The nuclear crisis caused by them on the Korean Peninsula is fraught with a danger of nuclear war.
The Korean people are keeping a close eye on the U.S. imperialists' war preparations against the DPRK, fully prepared to cope with them.

Folk songs, dances renewed

Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- Folk songs "Hwanghaesan Tharyong", "Bird Tharyong" and "Nurigae Tharyong" and folk dances "Sanjo Dance", "Tune and Dance" and "Sorceress Dance" have been renewed to suit national characteristics and aesthetic sense of the time. The Korean Institute of National Music and Dance already renewed more than 400 folk songs including "Yangsando", "Spinning Wheel Tharyong" and "Ryonggangginari", and a lot of folk dances including "Hoe Dance".
The institute has also compiled such books as "Complete Collection of Korean National Music" and "Collection of Treatises on Songs of Enlightenment Period".

Complete history of `Pyongyang construction out

Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- The Pyongyang City People's Committee compiled book "Complete History of Pyongyang Construction" vols. 11 listed as a national treasure. The book deals with a historical course in which Pyongyang known as one of the cradles of human civilization and the birthplace of Tangun nation has demonstrated the dignity and wisdom of the nation with architecture and construction, going through all stages of social development.
Vol. 1 of the book gives comprehensive knowledge of the history, culture and geography of Pyongyang. It deals with historic study of Pyongyang from primitive, ancient and middle ages and the period before the liberation of the country, legends about Pyongyang, the origin of names of places, common sense, natural monuments and what people from all walks of life said of monumental edifices.
From vol. 2 to vol. 10, the book comprehensively and systematically deals with the historical course in which Pyongyang was built into a modern city under the wise guidance of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il.
The book stresses that the appearance of Pyongyang as a socialist capital city of Juche and a city of bliss is ascribable to the grandiose plan and dynamic leadership of Kim Jong Il, a great master of architecture.
Vol. 11 of the book tells at length how successfully he led the work to build the Kumsusan Memorial Palace as the supreme temple of Juche in the period of the "arduous march" and the forced march unprecedented in history, thus opening up a great history of Pyongyang construction, the history of accomplishing the cause of perpetuating the memory of the president.
Choe Tok Sun, department director of the Pyongyang City People's Committee, said that in the course of compiling the book, he keenly realized that Pyongyang, the capital of Juche Korea, remains shining and greater victory and glory are in store for it as the Korean people hold Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in high esteem as the great genius of construction.

Rodong Sinmun calls for implementing Kim Il Sung's intention

Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- Building a powerful nation was President Kim Il Sung's noble patriotic cause and intention in his lifetime. subordinating everything arising in the revolution and construction to the prosperity of the country was the firm stand consistently maintained by him in the whole period of the revolutionary struggle. Rodong Sinmun today says this in an editorial.
It calls on all sectors and units to materialize the noble patriotic intention of the president through vigorous efforts to carry out his last teachings.
By a powerful nation we mean a powerful nation of Juche now being built on the basis of his idea and line, the editorial says, and goes on:
He provided a solid foundation for prosperity in the era of the Workers' Party of Korea, converting misfortune into a blessing, adversity into favorable conditions, with his iron will and tested leadership.
His grand plan for the building of a powerful nation is being successfully materialized by Kim Jong Il, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is shining as Kim Il Sung's dignified Korea where his patriotic intention has become a brilliant reality.
We should solve all the issues arising in achieving the prosperity and development of the country the way the president did and give full play to the Korean nation-first spirit and firmly preserve the Juche character and national character in all fields.
We should take the single-hearted unity of the army and people around the headquarters of the revolution as the best means of building a powerful nation.
We should regard the army-based idea and policy as a starting point of the party, state and military activities and a basis of socio-economic life and build up strong military strength and state economic power to meet the need of the era of the army-based policy.
The editorial calls for effecting a great turn on all fronts building a powerful nation through a bold offensive this year, the 55th anniversary of the DPRK.
