KCNA flails decision of Japanese Supreme Court
Pyongyang, April 2 (KCNA) -- The Supreme Court of Japan on March 25 ruled that there is no need for the Japanese government to compensate the former comfort women, thus turning down the 1998 Simonoseki suit which admitted Japan's state responsibility and compensation for them.
By rejecting the suit which had been left unsettled for 5 years, Japan laid bare before the international community its true colors as a hideous criminal.
Japan forced more than 200,000 Korean women into sexual slavery for the Japanese imperial army in the past. This was the most despicable, merciless and hideous crime in human history.
The supreme court which claims to represent the state called Japan by law went so shameless and irresponsible that it asserted before the international community that there is no need to compensate the former comfort women. This only betrays the moral vulgarity of Japan and the mean nature of Japanese politics in the 21st century.
For the past half a century since the end of the pacific war Japan has made neither apology nor compensation to the Korean women in the north and the south, the biggest victims.
We can not but express our bitterest indignation and wrath against the Japanese court which made such a shameless decision.
It is a well-known fact that the un and various other international organizations convicted Japan of violating international law, terming the sexual slavery committed by imperial Japan as a state-sponsored organized rape and asserted the Japanese government's responsibility to make compensation for it.
However, Japan has not responded to those just demands and advices but gone to the lengths of dismissing the suit, thus adding to the crimes it committed by violating the rights and dignity of sexual slaves.
The reality goes to clearly prove that Japan has no willingness to redress its crime-ridden past.
Japan is well advised to properly handle the issue of the comfort women for the Japanese imperial army, clearly understanding that it can not become a full-fledged member of the international community unless it redeems its past crimes.
Kim Jong Il's army-based policy praised in Russia
Pyongyang, April 2 (KCNA) -- A seminar on Kim Jong Il's army-based policy was held in Moscow on march 25 on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of his election as Chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission.
Sazhi Umalatova, chairwoman of the Party for Peace and Unity of Russia, said in a report at the seminar that Kim Jong Il has wisely guided the DPRK with his extraordinary wisdom, a resolute stand and outstanding leadership.
Noting that it is Kim Jong Il's political philosophy that neither peace nor sovereignty and prosperity of the country would be thinkable without its army, she stressed that thanks to his army-based policy the Korean People's Army has grown to be a strong army which is so fully prepared ideologically and morally and equipped with such modern weapons that it can emerge victorious in any confrontation with imperialists.
The whole world has recognized the validity of his army-based policy and history will always praise him as the greatest statesman and most outstanding leader, she stated.
Speakers said that his army-based leadership is wise in that he has trained the KPA as a strong army in the world and achieved the single-hearted unity of the party, state, army and people.
Noting that thanks to his army-based policy the destiny of the Korean nation and socialism is firmly defended and the DPRK is taking a wide avenue of building a powerful nation, they added that the army-based policy is, therefore, a perfect mode of socialist politics and independent politics.
A message of greetings to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the seminar.
Unreasonable involvement in U.S. anti-DPRK campaign assailed
Pyongyang, April 2 (KCNA) -- Some forces of the international community are joining the U.S. in its moves to increase its pressure upon the DPRK over its nuclear issue.
Claiming that North Korea is the next target of the U.S. attack when its Iraqi war is over, they described the just measures taken by the DPRK as regards the nuclear issue of the Korean Peninsula as a violation of the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and urged it to accept inspection.
In this regard Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary says:
The DPRK pulled out of the nuclear non-proliferation treaty as a legitimate self-defensive measure under the situation where the supreme interests of the state were seriously threatened.
It was a very just measure for the DPRK which values its sovereignty as its life and soul to react to the U.S. brigandish demands with the toughest stand.
The U.S. is now insisting on the multilateral talks and pressurizing upon the DPRK to accept inspection, doggedly opposing its constructive proposal for the conclusion of a non-aggression treaty between the DPRK and the U.S.
Those assertions of the dishonest forces of the international community are little short of giving a shot in the arm of the U.S. keen to unleash a nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula.
Those with a cool-headed and lucid view on the developments should carefully approach the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula and exercise their influence on the U.S. to make a political decision to opt for the DPRK-U.S. direct negotiations and the conclusion of the non-aggression treaty as early as possible.
U.S. saber-rattling against DPRK flailed
Pyongyang, April 2 (KCNA) -- The situation on the Korean Peninsula is reminiscent of an eve of a war as the U.S.-South Korea joint war exercises are at their height. They are an all-round test military operation to mount a preemptive attack on the DPRK and a dangerous play with fire aimed at the second Korean war.
Rodong Sinmun today says this in a signed article.
The danger of these war exercises is increasing as they are under way at a time when the DPRK and the U.S. are standing in an acute confrontation over the nuclear issue and the bush group is kicking up an unprecedented nuclear racket against the DPRK after sparking the second nuclear crisis on the Korean Peninsula, the article notes, and goes on:
The current joint war maneuvers are a preliminary military operation, a test war to shift the theatre of a "war against terrorism" to the Korean Peninsula.
The U.S. intends to ignite the second Korean war and make it a most destructive and disastrous war. This is clearly evidenced by the number of operational equipment and combat capacity involved in the maneuvers.
The U.S. massed its armed forces of aggression around the Korean Peninsula, claiming that North Korea should not be allowed to have access to nukes and the military option is the best.
The U.S. bellicose forces have pushed ahead with the manufacture of smaller nuclear weapons under a plan to turn the Korean war into a nuclear war.
A special operation group of the CIA went to the lengths of conducting a secret training to destroy the DPRK's nuclear facilities.
There should be no compromise with the U.S. imperialists but it is imperative to fight them out.
The army and the people of the DPRK will mercilessly wipe them out if they unleash a new war of aggression against it.

In recent years white cranes have appeared on fields in Ryongyon and Ongjin counties, South Hwanghae Province. More than 250 white cranes have been seen on the west coast and some 150 on the east coast.
Over the past four years 5,000-7,000 swans have come to Korea on a yearly average. some 120 swans spent the last winter near the west sea barrage and 450 in lake Kumsan.
Over the past ten years five white and black storks have been found on the east coast and 36 on the west coast.
Groups of about ten black storks have spent winter in Tongpho-ri, Kangryong county, South Hwanghae Province, over the past two years.
According to surveys made by the institute of conservation of nature and management of resources under the biological branch of the academy of sciences, more than 180 species of rare birds live in Korea. Among them are those belonging to gaviidae and didapper, and eagles and white-bellied black woodpeckers.

Flag and posters for Kimilsungia festival produced
Pyongyang, April 2 (KCNA) -- The flag to be hoisted at the Kimilsungia Festival and posters for the 5th Kimilsungia Festival have been produced.
Depicted on the central light blue panel of the flag are the globe and the Korean map and Kimilsungia, the immortal flower, in full bloom above them.
The flag is 2 meters long and 1. 1 meters wide.
The flag symbolizes the fact that the festival to be held on the occasion of the Day of the Sun is festival of flowers wishing the immortality of President Kim Il Sung as it significantly commemorates his birth anniversary and Kimilsungia is in full bloom all over the world amid the warm blessings of all the people.
Posters bear slogans "The Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung Will Always Be With Us" and "Let Us Revere The Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung For Ages" and letters "Commemoration Of The Day Of The Sun" and "The 5th Kimilsungia Festival".
Among those posters are the one depicting Kim Il Sung's native home at Mangyongdae and Kimilsungia and the other about the Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Exhibition, the venue of the festival, and the immortal flower.
The posters say the festival will be held from April 11 to 21, Juche 92 (2003).
U.S. sinister intention to stifle DPRK blasted
Pyongyang, April 2 (KCNA) -- The Bush group let loose a spate of bellicose remarks that they do not rule out the use of force and the U.S. Forces present in South Korea would prove even more powerful deterrent force against the north, again painting the DPRK as a "rogue state".
In this regard Minju Joson today in a signed commentary says:
This is a clear indication that the bush group pursues an adventurous design as regards the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula.
The U.S. increasing pressure upon the DPRK over its nuclear issue is very similar to what happened in Iraq. It is the comment of the world public that the U.S. is set to spark the second Iraqi crisis on the Korean Peninsula.
The U.S. seeks to solve the nuclear issue by force of arms.
This compels the DPRK to do its utmost to legitimately defend itself from the U.S. military threat. It is the best way of averting a war and defending the sovereignty and dignity of the country and the nation to cope with the U.S. military threat on its own initiative and by its own efforts. This is a serious lesson taught by the developments in Iraq.
The DPRK will bolster its self-defensive military power under the uplifted banner of the army-based policy no matter what others may say and smash any provocation of aggressors at a single blow.

proceder injusto
