Seminar on relations between DPRK and EU held in London

     Pyongyang, May 9 (KCNA) -- A seminar on the relations between the DPRK and the EU was held in London on May 2 under the sponsorship of the London Institute for International Strategic Studies of Britain. It was attended by the delegation of the DPRK Foreign Ministry led by Choe Su Hon, vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the DPRK charge d'affaires ad interim in Britain, Bill Rummell, deputy Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of UK, and its other officials concerned and members of the British parliament and the European parliament and figures of political and academic circles in Germany, France, Belgium and other countries and foreign diplomatic envoys in London.
    Speeches were made by the vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK and the deputy foreign secretary of UK at the seminar.
    Speeches were made on the subjects of "nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula", "international economic relations of the DPRK" and "prospects of the peace, stability and reunification of the Korean Peninsula." then questions were raised and views exchanged.

U.S. urged to give up its hostile policy toward DPRK

     Pyongyang, May 9 (KCNA) -- Neither U.S. threat nor blackmail can ever work or frighten the Korean people, said Ram Bilash Yadav who visited the DPRK at the head of a delegation of the young forces' forum of Nepal. He attributed the extremely tense situation on the Korean Peninsula and the ever-growing threat of a nuclear war there to the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK.
    The DPRK's withdrawal from the NPT was a resolute measure taken against the U.S. imperialists' nuclear racket, he said, demanding the U.S. respond to the just measures taken by the Korean people and immediately give up its hostile policy toward the DPRK.
    If the U.S. persists in its moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK, turning away from the just and principled stand of the Korean people, it will suffer another shameful defeat before the world, he warned.
    He went on:
    The U.S. had better not forget that the DPRK is quite different from Iraq.
    It is quite ridiculous for the U.S. to try to do harm to the Korean people who are demonstrating the might of the single-hearted unity more powerful than a nuclear weapon, true to the Songun policy of leader Kim Jong Il.
    The U.S. is well advised to behave itself, well aware of who is its opponent.

Kim Il Sung's exploits praised

     Pyongyang, May 9 (KCNA) -- J. K. Patel, department director of the Indian Research Institute for the Foreign Policy, in a statement released on May 2 on the occasion of the 67th anniversary of the Association for the Restoration of the Fatherland (ARF) praised President Kim Il Sung for his immortal exploits in achieving great national unity and carrying on the Korean revolution. The foundation of the ARF was a great exploit Kim Il Sung performed in pioneering and accomplishing the cause of the Korean revolution, he said, and continued:
    The historical experience gained by the Korean people during the long revolutionary struggle shows that only the outstanding leader representing the will of the whole nation and illumining its way ahead can achieve a great national unity.

Seminar on Kim Jong Il's Songun revolutionary line held

     Pyongyang, May 9 (KCNA) -- Officials of the Korean Democratic Women's Union held a seminar on leader Kim Jong Il's Songun revolutionary line here yesterday. Speakers said that President Kim Il Sung's idea and line of giving importance to arms, military affair constitute the foundation and the starting point of the Songun policy of the Workers' Party of Korea. Kim Jong Il has pursued the Songun policy to defend the outstanding military idea and immortal exploits of Kim Il Sung, glorify them on a new high stage and pave the way for a victory of the Juche cause, they noted, and stressed:

Rodong Sinmun on victory of Soviet Union in great patriotic war

     Pyongyang, May 9 (KCNA) -- The Korean people extend warm congratulations and greetings to the Russian people on the 58th anniversary of the victory of the soviet union in the great patriotic war, say papers here today. Rodong Sinmun says in a signed article that the existence, development, dignity and honor of Russia are historically linked with the brilliant victory of the former soviet union.
    The lesson of the war teaches that there should be only powerful might in order to win a victory of justice over injustice and a victory of peace over war, the paper notes, and goes on:
    A long time has passed since the war between the soviet union and Germany. But the old imperialist forces still remain in the world and the danger of aggression and war has not been removed.     The June 15 North-South Joint Declaration is a historic one as it helped usher in a new era of national unity, the era in which all the Koreans pool their efforts.

     Pyongyang, May 9 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today in an editorial calls for fully demonstrating the might of the single-hearted unity in hearty response to the calls of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. The single-hearted unity is Kim Jong Il's revolutionary philosophy and serves as a weapon more powerful than a nuclear weapon, the editorial says, and goes on:
    When the whole army is rallied around the headquarters of the revolution and all the people get united and share sweets and bitters with the leader to become a community linked with the same destiny can they achieve final victory of the revolution despite any storm and the worst adversity. Yun Ki Bok passes away

     Pyongyang, May 9 (KCNA) -- The Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of the Fatherland on May 8 issued an obituary of Yun Ki Bok, member of the WPK Central Committee, deputy to the SPA and Presidium member of the C.C., the DFRF. According to the obituary, Yun Ki Bok died of a long illness on May 8, Juche 92 (2003) at the age of 76.
    Born in Seoul on August 6, Juche 15 (1926), he has long devoted his all wisdom and energies to the strengthening and development of the WPK, the socialist economic construction, the consolidation of the socialist system of Juche and the independent and peaceful reunification of the country, holding important posts of the party and the state after the liberation of the country.
    He remained boundlessly loyal to the party and the leader to the last moments of his life.
    He was awarded Kim Il Sung order and many other state commendations for his distinguished services for the country and the people.

     Pyongyang, May 9 (KCNA) -- The Institute of Plant Resources under the Academy of Agricultural Science of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has developed a health drink for computer operators. The drink, with Saponin extracted from fruits of a tree as its main ingredient, has a good effect on the prevention of and recovery from fatigue.
    150 milliliters of the drink has been applied to each of several dozen computer operators twice a day for scores of days. The results show that the eye and mental strain has considerably been reduced. They say they do not feel tired though they operate computers for many hours.
