Japan denounced for blindly siding with U.S.
Pyongyang, May 26 (KCNA) -- The Japanese government in a "written answer" approved at its recent cabinet meeting blindly sided with the U.S. It asserted that "the U.S. carefully selected the targets of cluster bombs in consideration of their nature and strove to prevent civilians from falling victim to them." It means that the U.S. use of cluster bombs does not pose an international problem as they were dropped technically in the Iraqi war.
In this regard Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary says: This was nothing but Japan's shameful act of flattery and servile support for its master, the U.S.
The Japanese authorities are so obsessed with the idea of toeing the U.S. line that they took the lead in openly shielding the U.S. genocide, a target of the international community's condemnation.
It is obvious that it is a bad habit of Japan to blindly support and flatter the U.S. as a servant does his master.
The point at issue is for what Japan behaves so.
The Japanese authorities are keen to whip the charriot of overseas military aggression under the U.S. umbrella of "anti-terrorism" strategy. Japan's act of supporting and shielding the U.S. use of weapons of mass destruction indicates that it will leave no means untried for overseas aggression as the U.S. does.
But the Japanese authorities are well advised to bear in mind that if they continue acting blindly to the tune of the U.S. out of their senses, they will only meet a fatal fiasco.
Functions for friendship with DPRK held in Iran
Pyongyang, May 26 (KCNA) -- Opening ceremonies of a week of Iran-DPRK friendship and a Korean book, photo and handicraft exhibition were held in Teheran on May 20.
The general director for cooperation with foreign countries of the organization of culture and Islamic relations of Iran in a speech at the opening ceremony of the week of friendship said that the friendly DPRK government has long supported the just stand of Iran, pointing out that the friendly ties between the two countries provided by President Kim Il Sung, the great leader of the Korean people, and Khamenei, leader of the Islamic revolution of Iran, are favorably developing.
Then participants saw with great attention photos showing the revolutionary exploits performed by Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, their famous works, photos and magazines dealing with successes made in socialist construction of the DPRK and handicrafts.
They watched the Korean film "President of the Islamic Republic of Iran He Seyed Ali Khamenei's visit to our country".
South side's moves for confrontation with north flailed
Pyongyang, May 26 (KCNA) -- The secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland on Sunday issued information bulletin no. 840 condemning the south side for its moves for confrontation with the north.
Calling in question the fact that the national defence advisor of Chongwadae made remarks denying the system of the north a few days ago and then the foreign minister of South Korea told a silly story about the system, the bulletin noted:
It is no other than a knockabout farce to block the voice of denunciation daily mounting at home and abroad after the south side's pro-U.S., flunkeyist and humiliating visit to the United States, shirk from the responsibility for leading the inter-Korean relations to a confrontation and tarnish the prestige of the DPRK. and it is another open act of anti-north confrontation.
It cannot be interpreted as anything but another logic of a military way that the south side talked about "consideration of further steps" allegedly to find a peaceful solution of the "nuclear issue".
What is a way devoid of peace is only a non-peaceful way, a military way. And sanctions and blockade, a declaration of war against the north, are accompanied by a military way.
The south side can neither explain the grave reality with a few words nor avoid the responsibility for escalating the danger of a war on the Korean Peninsula and creating north-south confrontation.
The south side should not try to cover the truth with a poor excuse but recognize its wrongdoing and apologize to the nation.
The south side should know that if it resorts to the anti-north confrontation to lead the situation to extremes in cooperation with foreign forces in defiance of the repeated warnings of the north, the inter-Korean relations would be brought to naught and it would face an unimaginable disaster.
South Korean Solidarity of Peasants formed in S. Korea
Pyongyang, May 26 (KCNA) -- An inaugural ceremony of the South Korean Solidarity of Peasants was held in Seoul on May 19 with the attendance of the South Korean Federation of Peasants Associations and 8 other peasants' organizations.
The solidarity has been active after a preparatory committee for its inauguration was formed on March 24.
A declaration issued at the inaugural ceremony referred to the fact that the South Korean agriculture is in the crisis of bankruptcy due to the flunkeyist and traitorous agricultural policy of the authorities.
Saying that the present agricultural crisis is the problem of all people, not a matter of peasants only, it stressed that the solidarity would play its role in catapulting the flagging agriculture.
Repeal of bills on "emergency" demanded
Pyongyang, May 26 (KCNA) -- The Alliance of South Koreans in Japan for Democracy and Unification, the South Korean Youth League in Japan and other organizations under the South Korean Residents Association in Japan on May 15 released a joint statement demanding Japan repeal the bills allegedly intended to cope with "emergency" which causes Asian people's apprehension and worry about its conversion into a military power and overseas dispatch of the "self-defence forces".
The joint statement referred to the dangerous nature of the bills, noting that the bills which passed through the house of representatives of the diet are war laws intended to attack somebody.
The Koreans in Japan still remember all forms of suppression and persecution by the Japanese authorities they experienced on the eve of the June 25 war more than 50 years ago and the on-going "anti-north campaign" in Japan reminds them of those times, it said, and stressed:
What the Japanese government and diet should do is to respect the sovereignty of other nations and develop friendship with them and seek a peaceful solution to all issues through dialogue with the DPRK, not favoring the hostile policy of the United States.

It, formed in May Juche 47 (1958) for the first time in Korea, is based in the Pyongyang International Cinema House.

Pyongyang, May 26 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il visited a newly built refined salt factory on May 9, Juche 87 (1998).
Watching salt being produced at the factory, he said he was very happy to see snow-white refined salt.
After tasting the salt, he said that its taste was very good and that his wish to provide the people with fine soy and salt had come true.
He then solved all issues arising in updating the production processes and attaining a high and steady rate of production at the factory.
South side urged to keep faith
Pyongyang, May 26 (KCNA) -- The behavior of the south side before and after the 5th meeting of the north-south committee for the promotion of economic cooperation arouses the north's apprehension as to whether the issues arising in implementing the June 15 joint declaration can be settled as required by the nation and in its interests. Rodong Sinmun today says this, commenting on the meeting which was opened here on may 23.
The news analyst observes:
At the meeting the head of the north side's delegation expressed deep concern over the fact that the south side in the "joint statement" published with the U.S. agreed with "further steps" which the world people interpreted as a blockade and military attack and worried about. If this actually happens to spark confrontation, the relations between the north and the south will be put at the lowest ebb and this will bring disasters to the south side, too, he added.
The south side, however, created complexities at the meeting and delayed the discussion, talking about "clarification." Who on earth is committed to clarify and apologize?
It was very disappointing that the south side behaved like a guilty party filing the suit first.
What was alarming was that the south side did not bother to spread misinformation about the meeting, quoting an anonymous "high-ranking official of Chongwadae" even before the meeting came to an end. This clearly proves how perfidious and uneasy the south side was.
The south side should think over its improper acts of going against the idea of "by our nation itself," the basic spirit of the June 15 Joint Declaration.
Rodong Sinmun on calls of WPK
Pyongyang, May 26 (KCNA) -- "Let Us Decisively Smash the U.S. Imperialists' Reckless Nuclear Racket and Moves for the Provocation of a New War with the Concerted Efforts of All the Fellow Countrymen Upholding the Slogan of Anti-U.S. Independence," one of the calls of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea issued on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the DPRK, is a very just and realistic militant slogan that conforms with the requirements of the prevailing situation and the desire of our nation, says Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article.
Referring to the fact that the U.S. is seeking to achieve its criminal purpose with the policy of strength, aggravating confrontation and tension between the north and the south, the paper says: the prevailing situation requires the whole nation to smash the U.S. imperialists' moves against the DPRK with its concerted efforts under the slogan of anti-U.S. independence.
It goes on:
The U.S. is intensifying blackmail on the DPRK, building up public opinion in a bid to isolate it politically. Lurking behind it is an ulterior intention to block the unity of the north and the south and justify a war of aggression on the north by convincing the international community that the north is a "nuclear criminal".
The whole nation should unite close under the banner of "by our nation itself" as specified in the June 15 Joint Declaration.
It is clear that confrontation on the Korean Peninsula comes between the whole Korean nation and the U.S. that is why all the fellow countrymen should conduct a vigorous anti-U.S., anti-war and peace drive to frustrate the U.S. imperialists' frantic nuclear racket and moves for the provocation of a new war with the firm independent stand that our nation should pool mind and efforts by itself and keep step with each other however hard the U.S. may threaten.

KCNA assails U.S. psychological war against DPRK
Pyongyang, May 26 (KCNA) -- Some media of the United States and South Korea recently spread a false report that scientists of the DPRK, who are now on their routine duty, sought "asylum." they have already reported without any ground that a man no longer alive sought "refuge."
The DPRK announced that it was carrying out the work of processing spent fuel rods at the final stage. But they argued that this report was misinterpreted or not confirmed.
They went to the lengths of telling a lie that the DPRK could not but come out to the Beijing talks as china kept the oil pipe blocked for three days. As this propaganda did not sound plausible they are these days bringing up again non-existent issues of the DPRK's "counterfeit money" and "drug trafficking," their trite tricks, in a bid to fool the world community.
We have already clarified that the rumor about "exile of vice-department director Kil Jae Gyong" was a sheer lie.
The same is true of the recent report that "20 nuclear scientists of the DPRK sought asylum in the United States and other countries via China."
All the scientists of the DPRK are strong in revolutionary faith. They are devotedly working for the building of a great prosperous power. They can't do such a thing as they are ideologically ready to share the same destiny with their socialist homeland to the last.
As far as the issue of reprocessing spent fuel rods is concerned, the DPRK made it clear on April 18 that it was successfully carrying out the work of reprocessing over 8,000 spent rods at the final stage.
However, dishonest forces argued this was misinterpreted and not confirmed. Such allegation reminds one of the ostrich policy.
Their talk about "oil pipe" does not deserve even a passing note as it is a sheer fabrication invented to drive a wedge between the DPRK and China in the development of relations.
The same is true of "counterfeit money" and "drug trafficking".
The above-mentioned practices are strictly prohibited under our socialist system.
All the rumors spread by plot-breeders of the united states, styling itself the only superpower of the world, and South Korea are no more than a sinister trick to tarnish the image of the dignified DPRK, find a pretext to impose international sanctions and blockade on it and cause psychological unrest in its society in a bid to break the singlehearted unity of the DPRK.
The U.S. considers the psychological war very important in the U.S. hostile moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK over the "nuclear issue."
The U.S. claims that it achieved "success" in the Iraqi war through a deceptive, hypocritical and cunning psychological war, something it could hardly gain by use of hi-tech weapons.
It seeks to use this method against the DPRK.
But such psychological war of the U.S. is not workable in the DPRK where the people are singleheartedly united, though it could work in the Iraqi war.
The U.S. should make a switchover in its hostile policy toward the DPRK, a key to removing the confrontation between the two countries over the nuclear issue, at an early date, far from trying to undermine our system through such war as foolish an act as sweeping the see with a broom.

The driving force of the revolution means an integral whole of the headquarters, the party, the army and the people.

como ya hemos dado a conocer, presentamos en las conversaciones de beijing un nuevo y audaz medio idoneo para eliminar a la vez las preocupaciones de la rpdc y ee.uu., partes interesadas del problema nuclear partiendo del pesado sentido de responsabilidad y la posicion de buena voluntad de detener, cueste lo que cueste, la guerra y lograr la paz y la estabilidad duraderas en la peninsula coreana.

lanzaron informacion torcida, al involucrar incluso a un tercer pais, que la rpdc se vio obligada a participar en las conversaciones de beijing puesto que china dejo tapado tres dias el oleoducto. al no poder lograr su objetivo con ella vuelven a portar un supuesto "problema de los billetes falsificados" y "el problema de las drogas" de la rpdc con miras a convencer a la sociedad internacional.

la guerra psiquica ocupa una importante posicion en las maquinaciones de ee.uu. encaminadas a aislar y aplastar la rpdc acusando a esta del "problema nuclear".
ee.uu., diciendo que a traves de la guerra psiquica enganosa e hipocrita logro en la guerra iraqui un "exito" que no podia alcanzar ni con las armas de tecnologia de punta, trata de aplicarla tal como es a la rpdc.
debe dejar de crear caos en el seno de nuestro pais a traves de tal guerra psiquica y debe cambiar lo mas pronto posible su politica hostil a la rpdc.
