Pyongyang declaration signed by Mexican political party

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- The Socialist Party of Mexico signed the Pyongyang declaration "Let us defend and advance the cause of socialism." Delegates to a meeting of the national preparatory committee of the 2nd congress of the party on May 25 deliberated on a report of its chairman about the fraternal relations between his party and the Workers' Party of Korea, the present world situation and achievements the Korean people made in socialist construction by embodying the Juche idea which was founded by President Kim Il Sung and is being developed and enriched by Kim Jong Il and adopted a political decision.
    The decision quoted the full text of the Pyongyang declaration, saying the socialist party of Mexico signs it in reflection of the firm will to defend and advance the socialist cause.

U.S. arms buildup plan under fire in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- A press conference was reportedly held in front of the building of the "Ministry of National Defense" of South Korea on June 4 under the co-sponsorship of the council for national reconciliation and independent reunification, the people working for peace and reunification and the headquarters of the movement for the return of the U.S. military base in Ryongsan, protesting against the U.S. arms buildup plan and its demand for increased defence expenditure and calling for the immediate return of the U.S. military base in Ryongsan, etc. Kim Chong Il, executive chairman of the council, said that the U.S. intention to establish a military domination over the Korean Peninsula indicates its plan to impose economic and military burden on the South Korean people and spark a war crisis.
    At the end of the conference a letter of protest was conveyed to the ministry.
    Meanwhile, co-chairmen Im Chan Gyong and Ri In Su of the headquarters of the People's Movement for the Withdrawal of the U.S. Forces in a statement on June 5 demanded the U.S. cancel its arms buildup plan and withdraw its forces from the Korean Peninsula.

Police violence protested in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- The participants in the grand candlelight procession for national independence and peace against war reportedly held a rally in Phaju, Kyonggi Province, protesting against police violence. They had been on anti-U.S. actions since May 13, demonstrating around U.S. military bases. As they intended to head for a combined drill ground of the U.S. forces in Phaju, the riot police resorted to violence, blocking their way. Not content with it, it committed such an intolerable act as trampling underfoot the photos of sin Hyo Sun and Sim Mi Son.
    At the rally a member of the All-People Measure Committee for Sin Hyo Sun and Sim Mi Son, Schoolgirls Killed By a U.S. Armored Car, said that police violence is an act of chilling the atmosphere mounting in the run-up to functions to commemorate the June 13 tragedy.
    The chairman of the General Student Council of the University of Foreign Studies said that the upcoming memorial service to mark the first death anniversary of schoolgirls on June 13 would mark an opportunity of demonstrating the will of youth and students to have the South Korea-U.S. status of forces agreement revised and the U.S. forces withdrawn from South Korea.
    Meanwhile, they held a memorial service for the schoolgirls at the place where they were killed.

British diplomats visit Mt. Jongbang Recreation Ground

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- Ambassador David Arthur Slinn and officials of the British embassy here visited the Mt. Jongbang Recreation Ground in North Hwanghae Province on June 10 on the occasion of the official birthday of the queen of the UK, its National Day. Being briefed on the fact that Mt. Jongbang has turned into a famous scenic spot and peculiar cultural recreation ground for the people under the warm loving care of Kim Jong Il, they looked round the Jongbang Tea House, an angling site, the Songbul Temple built in 898 and other places.

Reception given by Russian Consul General

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- Arkady Ravrov, Russian Consul General to Chongjin, hosted a reception Tuesday evening on the occasion of the National Day of Russia. Present on invitation were Choe Ki Dok, vice-chairman of the North Hamgyong Provincial People's Committee, and officials concerned.

Message to all Koreans supported

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- The Western Regional Federation of Koreans in the United States issued a statement on June 2 in support of the message to all Koreans published by the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of the Fatherland and the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland. Referring to the content of the message, the statement expressed full support for it.
    Powerful military deterrent force of the north is the most just one implanting national pride into all the Koreans and ensuring peace on the Korean Peninsula, the statement said.
    All the Koreans in the north and the south and overseas should unite as one and conduct a vigorous anti-war, anti-U.S. movement so as to frustrate the nuclear war moves of the bush administration, the statement said, calling upon the 70 million fellow countrymen to do so.

U.S. arms buildup plan blasted

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea in a statement on June 10 warned that the United States' announcement of a new "plan" for beefing up its armed forces in South Korea under the tense situation on the Korean Peninsula where the nuclear stand-off between the DPRK and the U.S. is inching close to the brink of explosion may trigger off an all-out war. He went on: The DPRK is a country of working people and is the best and viable society where the headquarters of the revolution, single-hearted unity and socialism represent a community linked by the same destiny.
    The DPRK having this might beyond compare in the world is so powerful as to neutralize any "rapid deployment unit" and "precision guided weapons" of the U.S. forces and deal a merciless blow at the U.S. nuclear fanatics keen on aggression and war.
    The U.S. should not forget a bitter lesson it drew from the miserable defeat it suffered in the 1950s in face of the Korean people, but stop at once its reckless arms buildup precipitating its self-destruction.
    The powerful deterrent force built up by the working people of the DPRK will firmly defend the peace of the county and security of the nation from any aggression and military attack and deal a merciless deadly blow at the provokers.

Seminar on Kim Jong Il's Songun revolutionary line held

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- Trade union officials of the DPRK held a seminar on leader Kim Jong Il's Songun revolutionary line here on June 10. At the seminar speakers said that the essence of Kim Jong Il's Songun policy is to defend security of the country and the revolutionary gains by strengthening the People's Army as an invincible revolutionary armed forces and build up the driving force of revolution and conduct all activities for socialist construction in a revolutionary and militant manner with the People's Army as a core and a main agent.

Press conference related to June 13 Memorial Service held in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- A press conference was reportedly held in front of the U.S. embassy in Seoul on June 3 under the sponsorship of the People's Preparatory Committee for Commemorating the First Death Anniversary of Hyo Sun and Mi Son (June 13). It was aimed to declare a period of commemorating the anniversary and propose simultaneous candlelight processions in the south, the north and abroad.
    The press release published at the conference said that June 13 would be a day of achieving independence and peace of the nation and a day of preventing the recurrence of brutal killing of Koreans by GIs in this land, saving the nation from the threat of war on the Korean Peninsula and realizing national unity for independence and peace by the concerted efforts of the Korean nation.
    The press release pointed to the orientation of the all-people action which calls for fixing an intensive memorial period from June 2 to 12, observing the day of action of members of the preparatory committee from all walks of life in this period and holding simultaneous candlelight rallies on June 13, etc.
    It also referred to the plan to erect a monument to the two schoolgirls in the place in Yangju county, Kyonggi province where the murder took place and a tower to the candlelight procession at the intersection of Kwanghwamun in Seoul.

Japanese authorities' action against DPRK passenger boat assailed

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Korean Marine Transport Committee in a statement on June 10 denounced the anti-DPRK action of the Japanese authorities to suspend the call of ship "Mangyongbong-92" at a Japanese port. He said:
    The ship has fulfilled its humanitarian task to ensure repatriation and visits of Koreans in Japan to their homeland according to the agreement reached between the two Red Cross organizations of the DPRK and Japan and contributed to boosting the friendship between the two peoples.
    What the ship has transported was either exports which were allowed by the Japanese law and which went through Japanese custom inspection or humanitarian aid materials and, therefore, there is nothing suspicious.
    As they found it impossible to legislate on restrictions on the port call of "Mangyongbong-92" the Japanese authorities came out with what they called "inspection of equipment," a ridiculous plot.
    When the Japanese authorities raised this issue all of a sudden, they sought a sinister aim to suspend the service of the ship under any pretext which they failed to do so on the strength of the existing law.
    Their action to bar the ship's service and block visits of Koreans in Japan to their homeland is, in essence, a sort of pressure and sanctions against the DPRK.
    The Japanese authorities should ponder over the serious consequences to be entailed by their unreasonable obstruction to the service of the ship "Mangyongbong-92" if it would mean a start of "sanctions" against the DPRK as claimed by the U.S. and its followers.

DPRK quite different from Iraq

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today carries a commentator's article in connection with the lapse of 10 years since the DPRK-U.S. New York joint statement was published. The U.S. pressure upon the DPRK over its nuclear issue and reckless moves to start a nuclear war have gone beyond the danger line since the end of the Iraqi war, the article says, and goes on:
    The U.S. is well advised to clearly understand that the DPRK is quite different from Iraq.
    The DPRK is an ideologically and politically and militarily strong power. It considers the most viable Songun policy, the single-hearted unity and the self-reliant national defence power as its lifeline. It has its own operation plan, strategy and method of strike.
    The psychological warfare, "precision strike", "surgical operation strike" and "preemptive strike" are not a monopoly of the U.S.
    The DPRK is ready to retaliate against the "precision strike", "surgical operation strike" and "preemptive nuclear attack".
    Any "nuclear umbrella" and "missile shield" will prove ineffective in face of the DPRK's powerful strike. The U.S. vicious psychological warfare and "shock and terror operation" will never work on the DPRK.
    A war is neither a sports match nor an amusement game. It is a life-and-death battle.
    If a new Korean war breaks out, it will be quite different from the Iraqi war which can not be considered as a real war.
    The U.S. invasion of the DPRK in the 21st century would lead to a new world war. If the Bush bellicose forces ignite the second Korean war at any cost in the new century, oblivious of the historical lesson and warnings, they will know what a real war is like and only death and doom will await the aggressors.
    They will only hear the American dirge on the Korean Peninsula.

Day of Withdrawal of U.S. Military Bases from Libya observed

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- Minju Joson today dedicates a signed article to the Day of the Withdrawal of the U.S. Military Bases from Libya. The article says:
    The withdrawal of the U.S. military bases from Libya was a historic event that clearly proved that no force on earth can defeat a people who value the sovereignty and dignity of their country and nation and struggle to defend them.
    The United States still keeps its aggression forces in different parts of the world, staging various military exercises to strain the regional situation and realize its ambition for world domination.
    This indicates that the U.S., seized with its wild ambition for supremacy, is forgetting its bitter lesson of history.
    The U.S. forces' presence overseas, a product of the cold war, is now rejected as an outdated reactionary policy contrary to the trend of the times towards independence.
    The United States should face up to this trend and pull at once its forces out of South Korea and other parts of the world.

U.S. senior officials' remarks under fire

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- Laporte, commander of the South Korea-U.S. combined forces, in a lecture said that investment in the fighting power of the South Korean army should be made in step with the U.S. "arms buildup plan" and, earlier, U.S. deputy Defence Secretary Wolfowitz who visited South Korea stressed the "need" to increase defence budget of South Korea at a round-table talk with "members of the National Defence Committee of the South Korean National Assembly." Minju Joson today in a signed commentary says that their remarks are little short of pressure upon South Korea to invest a lot of funds in modernizing the South Korean army in step with the "arms buildup plan" and a war propaganda inciting it to confrontation with the north.
    It goes on:
    The U.S. imperialists are forcing South Korea to increase "defence budget" in a bid to make the South Korean army a modern and elite force with the tax paid by the sweat of the South Korean people's brow and use it as the cannon fodder of a war.
    Lurking behind the U.S. demand for increased defence budget is a sinister intention to sell more weapons to South Korea for great profits.
    The demand betrays the worldly mind of robbers.
    The U.S. imperialists are advertising as if the investment is needed for "deterrent force against the north", but it is a deceptive trick to mislead public opinion.
    They should no longer resort to a vicious trick, drop their reckless attempt to ignite a new war in Korea and get out of South Korea at once.

U.S. urged to reexamine its policy of confrontation with DPRK

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- Though ten years have passed since the publication of the DPRK-U.S. New York joint statement, no article of the statement has been implemented but the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula has got more serious and the DPRK-U.S. hostile relations have been further bedevilled. Rrodong Ssinmun today says this in a commentator's article.
    The United States is entirely to blame for this, the article says, and goes on:
    The situation on the Korean Peninsula has reached the extreme pitch of tension contrary to the expectation of the people owing to the perfidious, self-righteous and unilateral act of the U.S. that has scrapped the statement and pursued a hostile policy to stifle the DPRK.
    The core of the joint statement calls on both sides to refrain from using force including nuclear weapons against each other or threatening each other with such force and respect each other's sovereignty and not interfere in each other's internal affairs.
    However, the United States has persisted in its anti-DPRK moves in wanton violation of such article and basic spirit of the statement. The U.S. policy to isolate and stifle the DPRK has reached the climax after the emergence of the bush regime, in particular.
    The Bush belligerent group's listing the DPRK as part of an "axis of evil" and the target of its nuclear attack is an undisguised violation of the DPRK-U.S. joint statement and the DPRK-U.S. Agreed Framework and a blatant threat and nuclear blackmail against the sovereignty of the DPRK.
    It is known well that in October last year the U.S. regime sent a special envoy of its president to the DPRK to pose an ultimatum-like threat to Pyongyang over "concerns" and spark the second nuclear crisis on the Korean Peninsula. The U.S., in collusion with IAEA, its puppet and henchman, has put international nuclear pressure on the DPRK and made an offensive to disarm it and, at the same time, unilaterally suspended even the supply of heavy oil to the DPRK pursuant to the simultaneous action of the AF. In view of such grave situation the DPRK made a bold decision to withdraw from the NPT in order to protect the sovereignty and dignity of the country and the nation. This was a self-defensive countermeasure to cope with the u.s. hard-line policy to stifle the DPRK and the unreasonable behavior of the IAEA toeing the U.S. line.
    The right of decision is not a monopoly of the U.S. but it also resides with the DPRK.
    The U.S. belligerent forces are blustering that North Korea is the next target to eliminate weapons of mass destruction" after Iraq.
    The U.S. attempts to bring the nuclear issue of the DPRK to the United Nations again in a bid to have a justification for mounting a preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK and igniting the second Korean war. It is working with blood-shot eyes to destabilize and destroy the DPRK through a vicious psychological warfare as it did in the Iraqi war.
    It was the U.S. that ditched the north-south joint declaration on denuclearization and derailed its process on the Korean Peninsula.
    The present worst development compels the DPRK to build up a powerful war deterrent force to defend itself.
    It has its own operational plan, war method and strike mode.
    Any "nuclear umbrella" and "missile shield" will prove ineffective in face of the DPRK's powerful strike. The U.S. vicious psychological warfare, "shock and terror operation" will never work on the DPRK.
    The U.S. aggressors will hear only the American dirge on the Korean Peninsula.
    The U.S. can never flee from the responsibility for the grave situation on the Korean Peninsula. The U.S. is well advised to get cool-headed and ponder over the ensuing catastrophic consequences, if the present situation will lead to a war, and reexamine and rectify its futile policy of nuclear pressure and confrontation towards the DPRK.
    Everything will depend on how the U.S. will make a switchover in its attitude and policy. The DPRK will closely follow the U.S. attitude and do what it should do.

New veterinary vaccines developed

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- Scientists of the veterinary institute under the academy of agricultural science of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea have developed new vaccines strong in immunity. The newly developed vaccines have proved highly efficacious.
    Among them are salmonella enteritidis, swine erysipelas vaccine, rabbit trichophyton vacterine, rabbit pasteurellosis, rhd mixed vacterine and inactive newcastle disease vaccine for ostrich.
    If salmonella enteritidis is injected to a duck, it will completely kill paratyphoid and ensure immunity from virus for ten generations. Swine erysipelas vaccine guarantees over 98 percent of immunity.
    The efficacy of rabbit trichophyton vacterine is over 98 percent. Only an inoculation is enough to immunize rabbit from diseases forever.
    Rabbit pasturellosis and rhd mixed vacterine is efficacious for preventing pasteurella multocida and bordetella.
    The immunity period of the inactive new castle disease vaccine for ostrich is more than one year and the rate of immunity is nearly 100 percent.

Kim Jong Il provides field guidance to fish farm

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) - General Secretary Kim Jong Il on June 10 provided field guidance to the fish farm of the fish breeding company managed by Ra Hyo Jin. The farm has creditably carried out the militant tasks proposed by the leader while visiting it several times. As a result it newly built a pond for fast fish growth, a pond for fish breeding depending on river water and a circular pond for breeding fries and put a room for hatching fish eggs on a modern basis, thus laying a firm material and technological foundation for massively raising freshwater fish.

    nuestra republica es el mundo de la clase obrera y nuestra sociedad es la mas ventajosa y vital en que la direccion de la revolucion, la unidad monolitica y el socialismo constituyen una comunidad del destino.
    nuestro invencible poderio exhibira una gran fuerza de explosion incomparable con la "unidad de rapido desplazamiento", "bomba dirigida de precision" de las tropas norteamericanas e infligira un duro castigo a los maniacos nucleares de ee.uu. cautivados por la ambicion de la agresion y la guerra.
    ee.uu. no debe olvidar la amarga leccion de la decada de 1950 en que, al cabo de jactarse de "supremacia" en el mundo habia sufrido una amarga derrota ante el pueblo coreano y debe poner inmediato fin a su imprudente aumento armamentista que adelanta su autodestruccion.
    la poderosa fuerza de detencion fisica preparada por la clase obrera de corea defendera la paz del pais y la tranquilidad de la nacion frente a la agresion y el ataque militar de toda indole y dara un despiadado y demoledor golpe a los provocadores.
