     Pyongyang, June 18 (KCNA) -- Ambassador Paul Beijer and other officials of the Swedish embassy here visited the Mt. Jongbang recreation ground located in North Hwanghae Province yesterday on the occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom of Sweden. Indians diplomats help Korean farmers

     Pyongyang, June 18 (KCNA) -- Ambassador Rich Pal Singh and diplomats of the Indian embassy here went to the DPRK-India Friendship Kalchon Cooperative Farm in Nampho city Tuesday to help farmers in weeding a maize field. During break they conversed and sang songs with farmers, deepening the friendship.
    The ambassador hoped that the DPRK under the wise guidance of Kim Jong Il would achieve greater progress and prosperity and the farmers register great success in agricultural production.

DPRK's determination to strongly react to U.S. hard-line measure reiterated

     Pyongyang, June 18 (KCNA) -- Now that the U.S. is making preparations for a military attack on the DPRK under the signboard of "dialogue", the latter is left with no option but to implement all necessary measures it has already declared, says Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary.
    It goes on:
    The U.S. insistence on "multilateral talks" is aimed to lay an international siege to the DPRK under the signboard of "dialogue" and stifle the DPRK by force.
    This is clearly evidenced by the fact that the U.S. asked countries around Korea to pressurize the DPRK and blustered that it would study the proposal for hard-line countermeasures and take the three-phase hard-line measure.
    The U.S. continued pressure on the DPRK to scrap its nuclear weapons program first is intended to contain it with ease after forcing it to disarm itself. The Iraqi war proved that disarmament leads to a war. Therefore, it is quite clear that the DPRK can never accept the U.S. demand that it scrap its nuclear weapons program first.
    The DPRK has already declared that it would regard any sanctions to be applied against it as a declaration of a war. The hard-line measures are not a monopoly of the U.S. If the U.S. takes the three-phase hard-line measure, the DPRK will strongly react to it from its first phase.
    The DPRK has the right to build up a nuclear deterrent force for self-defence, the commentary says, contending that it would exercise all its rights to avert a war, protect the sovereignty and security of the country and the destiny and dignity of the nation.

S. Korea's decision to introduce "Patriot 3" missile under fire

     Pyongyang, June 18 (KCNA) -- The South Korean military decided to introduce "Patriot 3" missile and proposed to increase "its defence spending". This is a clear indication that the South Korean authorities, yielding to the U.S. pressure, are toeing the U.S. policy to stifle the DPRK by force under the pretext of its "nuclear issue."
    Rodong Sinmun today says this in a signed commentary.
    It goes on:
    By deciding to introduce the missile the South Korean military emerged a force threatening stability in Northeast Asia and the countries around the Korean Peninsula.
    After making an about-turn in its stand with its tour of the U.S. as a momentum the south side is blindly following the intention of the Bush group, as it is unable to see any sinister aim lurking behind it. The proposed arms build-up lashes the north into fury.
    This move of the South Korean authorities is a rash act of going against the era of independent reunification in which the nation pools efforts and a gross violation of the June 15 joint declaration. The north can not tolerate the moves of the south Korean military for a war against fellow countrymen, going against the desire of the nation for national reconciliation and reunification.

Technical and Economic Information Centre

     Pyongyang, June 18 (KCNA) -- The Technical and Economic Information Centre under the branch institute of light industry of the Academy of Sciences takes an important position in the development of the light industry of the country. The centre, founded in Juche 52 (1963), is situated in Taedonggang district, Pyongyang.

2003 Grand Chorus for Reunification given

     Pyongyang, June 18 (KCNA) -- The "2003 Grand Chorus for Reunification" was reportedly held in Seoul on June 15 to celebrate the third anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration under the sponsorship of the committee for the promotion of the grand chorus for reunification of the headquarters for the promotion of the 2003 functions common to the nation. The performance of concert style opened again following the similar one given in 2001.
    The performance was appreciated by more than 4,000 people.
    Meanwhile, a reunification flower game of children of primary schools, schoolchildren's exhibition of postcards for reunification, schoolchildren's painting exhibition for reunification and a photo exhibition on non-governmental exchange between the south and the north were held around the square while the performance was underway.

DPRK to put spurs to increasing its nuclear deterrent force for self-defence

     Pyongyang, June 18 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry today issued the following statement: The United States is conducting a psychological warfare and a blockade operation against the DPRK in real earnest.
    The U.S. is engrossed in a mean smear campaign to tarnish the image of the system in the DPRK, groundlessly charging it with drug smuggling, counterfeiting of money, suppression of religious freedom, exodus of refugees, human traffic, training of computer hackers and arms sale, etc.
    At the same time, it is barring the routine service of DPRK-flagged trading vessels under various pretexts. this hostile act is, in fact, little short of sea blockade against the DPRK.
    No matter how desperately the U.S. may try to cover up these moves, they are, in the final analysis, acts of scrapping the armistice agreement, a declaration of war and a war action in view of their nature.
    Some countries are joining the U.S. in its hostile acts against the DPRK. Japan is getting more zealous than any other countries though it committed crimes against the Koreans in the past.
    However, such plot and blockade will never work on the DPRK as it has a great Songun policy and the strong single-hearted unity.
    In fact, no country in the world so strictly bans the drug smuggling, counterfeiting of money, human traffic and other unethical acts as the DPRK.
    Any contention that the DPRK may secretly sell nuclear substance and missiles to terrorist groups is a mockery of its firm stand against terrorism.
    The DPRK government's policy on arms export allows only strictly legal deal in weapons to meet proper requirements of sovereign states for defense.
    The U.S. reckless false propaganda against the DPRK is to serve the sinister political aim to justify its listing of those countries that court its displeasure as members of an "axis of evil" and seek any justification for its attempt at the "regime change" in the countries.
    The U.S. is talking about multilateral talks.
    But it is becoming clear that the U.S. loudmouthed multilateral talks are not aimed to settle the nuclear issue peacefully but to cover up its moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK.
    Dialogue and pressure can never go together.
    The U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK has reached its height, it is using the multilateral talks as a smokescreen to cover up a war without gunfire and Washington is defying the unanimous demand of the international community that the U.S. and the DPRK refrain from provoking each other, a demand raised after the Beijing talks held in April last, thus unilaterally straining the situation.
    This situation compelled the DPRK to discard any expectation for multilateral talks proposed by the U.S.
    The DPRK once again clarifies that it has the right to immediately retaliate against any physical hostile act regarded as an act of ditching the armistice agreement and a declaration of a war.
    The DPRK will put further spurs to increasing its nuclear deterrent force for self-defence as a just self-defence measure to cope with the U.S. strategy to isolate and stifle the DPRK the danger of which is increasing with each passing day.

Meeting celebrates anniversary of Kim Jong Il's start of work at C.C., WPK

     Pyongyang, June 18 (KCNA) -- A national meeting was held at the April 25 House of Culture today to celebrate the 39th anniversary of Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. Jong Ha Chol secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, made a report.
    He said that Kim Jong Il created a history of peculiar progress in building a revolutionary party and built man-centred socialism for nearly 40 years of his revolutionary activities at the C.C., the WPK.
    Thanks to his experienced leadership the WPK has grown to be a revolutionary party, most organized and disciplined, and has become a guide and protector of the people which looks after the destiny of the popular masses in a responsible manner, the reporter said, and continued:
    During the arduous days of his Songun revolutionary leadership Kim Jong Il clarified the revolutionary truth that the army precisely means the party, the state and the people and, on this basis, has pursued the party policy, considering the people's army as a main force and the hard core of the revolution. This is a shining exploit he performed in paving the unique way for building the revolutionary party.
    Our single-hearted unity is a weapon of the revolution more powerful than a nuclear weapon and the strength of the party, the army and the people rallied close around the leader with one will and one purpose is invincible.
    All the party members, officers and men of the KPA and people should unite closer around Kim Jong Il, strengthen their single-hearted unity around the headquarters of the revolution in every way and firmly consolidate the revolutionary ranks as the pure Songun revolutionary ranks that share idea, intention and destiny with him.
    Steadily strengthening the KPA politically and ideologically and in military technique provides a sure guarantee for our people to always emerge victorious in the fierce political and military showdown with imperialism and firmly defend the country, the revolution and socialism.
    All the domains and units should exert primary efforts to strengthen the KPA and consistently carry through the party's policy of putting all the people under arms and turning the whole country into a fortress.

Spokesman for DPRK Foreign Ministry blasts U.S. publicized "flesh traffic"

     Pyongyang, June 17 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry today gave the following answer to the question raised by KCNA as regards the accusation made recently by the U.S. against the DPRK over the issue of "flesh traffic": On June 11 the U.S. State Department, referring to the flesh traffic in various countries in a "report on flesh traffic," made an unreasonable accusation against our country, too, asserting that it is a source of flesh traffic and it has taken no measure to combat it.
    The U.S. has so far cited all sorts of issues including terrorism, human rights abuse, drug trade and suppression of religion to pull up our country. And this time it went to the lengths of groundlessly charging the DPRK with "flesh traffic" in a bid to defile its system and increase pressure upon it.
    This is one more despicable charade which can be orchestrated only by the U.S. ruling quarters steeped in the hostility towards the DPRK to the marrow of their bones.
    By nature "flesh traffic" is something that can occur only in the American society where the fin-de-siecle tendency based on the money-is-everything principle and the jungle law prevails.
    When looking back on human history, the United States is the country with the poorest human rights record as it has grown rich because of slave trade for several centuries after it was built as a result of genocide.
    It is, therefore, the height of folly for the U.S. to talk about a sort of "flesh traffic".
    Such social ills are unimaginable under our socialist system under which the whole country has become a big family and the leader, the party and the masses are singleheartedly united.
    This notwithstanding, the U.S. fabricated the issue of "flesh traffic" to attack the dprk.
    This is an indication that the anti-DPRK racket kicked up by the U.S. while internationalizing the nuclear issue and putting its "blockade operation" against Pyongyang into practice has reached a senseless and reckless phase.
    There is an increasing number of refugees and flesh traffic and all other crimes and social evils are rife in various dispute-torn regions of the world.
    This is a product of the policy of war pursued by the Bush administration against humanity in a bid to realize its wild ambition for world supremacy.
    It is an already known fact that the U.S. intelligence bodies made sustained sinister attempts to kidnap inhabitants in border areas of our country and take them to neighboring countries and they are under open debate even at congress.
    Desperate efforts of the U.S. to topple our social system will only touch off stronger resentment at the Bush group and harden our people's determination to resolutely defend our socialist system.

Kim Jong Il gives field guidance to stock farm

     Pyongyang, June 17 (KCNA) - General Secretary Kim Jong Il Tuesday gave field guidance to the Kyenam Stock Farm built by South Hwanghae Province. He was accompanied by first vice department directors Ri Yong Chol and Ri Je Gang and vice department director Mun Myong On of the Central Committee of the WPK. The farm covers more than 5,000 hectares of mountain fields in the Kyenam area of Sinwon county.
    It has several stock-breeding branches and agricultural branches.
    On the observation platform he was briefed on the farm and enjoyed a bird's-eye-view of it.
    After acquainting himself in detail with its construction and a livestock production, he noted with great satisfaction that party members and working people in the province have built such a good farm of which they can be proud.
    This proud success made by the working people in the province is a striking demonstration of our people's indomitable revolutionary spirit of braving any trials and difficulties and a clear proof of the validity and vitality of the WPK's policy on developing stock breeding on a large scale, he said.
    He familiarized himself in detail with livestock production and its processing, making rounds of barns crowded with goats, rabbits and pigs, a dairy, milk processing factory and other places.
    Noting that the farm can rapidly increase livestock production as it is located in a good place and has a large area of pasture, he underscored the need to make a sufficient use of these favorable conditions to turn it into a large-scale stock-breeding center.
    He also noted that in order to build up the farm under a long-term plan it is necessary to make several small reservoirs to create abundant water resources and undertake its expansion project in a bold and big way and, at a same time, decisively increase the number of nanny goats.
    What is most important in the stock breeding, too, is to raise animals of good stock, he said, underlining the need to implement the WPK's policy of bringing about a radical turn in raising breeding stock to the letter.
    He called for putting the livestock raising and tending on a scientific and technological basis in order to increase its production.
    He proposed a task to be fulfilled to create a reliable fodder base.
    Recalling that modern stock-breeding bases including cattle farms, goat farms and chicken farms built in various areas are now mass producing meat, eggs and milk products for the people he gave an earnest instruction to make sustained great efforts for the development of stock breeding and realize as early as possible the life-long wish of President Kim Il Sung to make a new history in which meat is provided to them.
