GNP's moves to cook up "law on special inspection" flailed

     Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- The South Korean Grand National Party, complaining about the authorities' decision on concluding the investigation into the "special inspection of remittance to the north," is now having a confab to cook up a new "law on special inspection" and submit it to the "National Assembly" in a bid to extend the period of investigation on the basis of the report presented without the approval of the authorities. In this regard Rodong Sinmun carries a signed commentary today.
    The confab betrays the GNP's criminal intention to make a mockery of the mindset of the South Koreans and drive the north-south relations to a catastrophic phase. Lurking behind this is a base purpose to relate the case in question with the historic north-south summit meeting and find fault with it, the commentary says, and goes on:
    The far-fetched insistence of the anti-reunification elements only reveal their political and moral vulgarity and treacherous nature as they are jealous of the participants in the historic June 15 event and hamstring the north-south relations.
    The GNP is a group of traitors who were opposed to the north-south summit meeting from the outset. It is making desperate efforts to hurt the historic Pyongyang summit and the June 15 Joint Declaration even today when their great vitality is expressed in creating an atmosphere of reconciliation and reunification.
    For its traitorous nature and deep-seated bad habit of speaking ill of others, the GNP had to drink bitter cups in the past "presidential elections."
    Those who betray the nation and read the face of foreign forces, going against the trend of the times are bound to meet a stern punishment and denunciation by the nation and history.
    The GNP should immediately stop its moves to cook up a new criminal "law on special inspection" against the mindset of the South Koreans demanding the conclusion of the investigation.

Rodong Sinmun on U.S. defeat in Korean war

     Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- The Korean war of aggression started by the U.S. imperialists in June 1950 was a brigandish war as it betrayed their bellicose and brutal nature as aggressors and plunderers. Rodong Sinmun today says this in a signed article. It goes on:
    On the basis of the careful preparations made by the U.S. imperialists to start the Korean war, regarding it as an important part of the efforts to invade the continent, stifle socialism and implement their strategy for world domination, started armed invasion of the young DPRK on June 25, 1950.
    During the war they hurled at least two million troops into it and used over 20 billion U.S. dollars as military spending and more than 73 million tons of war materiel in the war.
    They, however, could not bring the Korean army and people to their knees. The enemy sustained a shameful defeat in the three-year war.
    Though half a century has passed since the ceasefire of the war that brought only death and disgrace to the boss of imperialists, the U.S. imperialists are persistently working to invade the DPRK, oblivious of the lesson taught by history. And their moves have reached their height today.
    It is the doctrine of aggression of the U.S. imperialists that in order to dominate the world they should conquer Asia and in order to bring Asia under their control they should swallow up Korea. On the basis of this doctrine they are making last-ditch efforts to start a war, while putting unprecedented military pressure upon the DPRK.
    But they will never succeed in their ambition to carry out their strategy for world domination at the sacrifice of the Koreans. If the U.S. imperialists provoke another Korean war at any cost the DPRK will mete out a thousand-fold punishment to the aggressors.

Korean books presented to Jordanian political parties

     Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- A ceremony of presenting Korean books to the National Action Front Party and the National Democratic People's Movement of Jordan was held in Amman on June 19. The DPRK Ambassador conveyed books including famous works of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and books "Leader Kim Jong Il and Songun Policy" and "The Army of the DPRK" to the general secretaries of the above said parties.
    Tariq Ahmad al Khayali, General Secretary of the National Action Front Party, after receiving books said that Kim Jong Il has conducted tireless ideological and theoretical activities to perform exploits to be specially recorded in the history of human thought and scientifically proved the validity and vitality of socialism.
    The immortal Juche idea, which was founded by Kim Il Sung and is being developed and enriched by Kim Jong Il, serves as a guiding idea for the global cause of independence and commands absolute sympathy of progressive humankind, he said.
    Mahmud al Nuwaihi, General Secretary of the National Democratic People's Movement, said that he would widely disseminate works and books among the leadership and members of the party so that they may earnestly learn from the experience gained by the Workers' Party and people of Korea in their struggle.

New thermistor developed

     Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- The Physical Institute of Kim Hyong Jik University of Education has developed a new type of thermister. The thermister is made of semiconductor thermo-resistant porcelain the raw material of which is abundant in the country.
    It is highly sensitive to temperature and its production cost is very low.
    Its rated resistance is 1-30 kilohms, utility temperature 20 degrees below zero-100 degrees above zero, ballast voltage 1.5-3 volts and permitted electric current below 50 milliampere.
    New thermisters have been introduced in production processes of basic foodstuff factories, hatching processes of chicken farms: grain-humidity-measuring instruments, refrigerators for home use, etc.
    The demand for the thermister is on a steady increase for its good quality and wide application.

Anti-U.S. and anti-war struggle called for

     Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- It is a pressing task before the Korean nation to prevent the danger of war and defend the peace on the Korean peninsula at present, says Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article. It goes on:
    The situation on the Korean peninsula has reached the worst crisis as the U.S. imperialists have pushed their moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK to extremes. If a war breaks out on the Korean peninsula owing to the reckless military provocations of the U.S. imperialists, it will spill over into a nuclear war.
    As the Korean peninsula stands at the crossroads of war or peace, the entire Korean nation is responsible for defending peace and preventing a war.
    It is possible to defend the peace on the Korean peninsula and the security of the nation only when all the fellow countrymen in the north, the south and abroad turn out in the anti-U.S. and anti-war struggle as one. In order to prevent the danger of war before the nation and defend the peace of the country and the security of the nation at present all the Koreans should lift high the banner of the June 15 Joint Declaration and increase the might of national cooperation in every way.
    It is a key issue in protecting the peace on the Korean peninsula and the security of the nation to fully support the patriotic Songun policy.
    A powerless nation has no right even to complain about aggressors' flagrant infringement upon its dignity and sovereignty. This is the tragic reality today when unilateralism and high-handed practices are rampant.

Anti-U.S. rally held in Sinchon county

     Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- A revenge-vowing rally of young servicemen of the Korean People's Army took place in Pamnamu (chestnut) valley, Wonam-ri of Sinchon county on June 25 on the occasion of "June 25, the Day of Struggle Against the U.S. Imperialists." It was attended by general Ryo Chun Sok, lieutenant general Sim Sang Dae and other generals and officers, youth league officials and young soldiers of the three services of the Korean People's Army. They laid bouquets before the tombs of 400 mothers and 102 children.
    The speakers said that the u.s. imperialists killed peaceable people, one fourth of the population of Sinchon county and brutally murdered at least 4.2 million innocent Koreans in all parts of the country during the fatherland liberation war.
    Sinchon left a bloody lesson that illusion about the class enemy means death, they stressed, adding that if they are captivated by illusion about the enemy and peace, they can hardly defend their dignity and destinies.
    Saying that the hair-trigger situation in which a new war may break out any time is prevailing in Korea and the second Korean war is becoming a reality, they called on all the young servicepersons to step up their preparations for a decisive battle with the U.S. imperialists in a do-or-die spirit.
    A resolution to vow revenge was adopted at the rally.

Greetings to Slovenian Prime Minister

     Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- Hong Song Nam, Premier of the DPRK cabinet, set a message of greetings to Anton Rop, Prime Minister of Slovenia, on the occasion of its Independence Day. Sincerely wishing the prime minister great success in his responsible work for the economic development of the country, the message expressed belief that the traditional friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries would continue to develop on good terms.

     Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- Hong Song Nam, Premier of the DPRK cabinet, sent a message of greetings to Ivica Racan, Prime Minister of Croatia, on the occasion of its National Day. Russian delegation leaves

     Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- The delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church headed by Archbishop Kliment, first vice-chairman for foreign affairs, left here today after participating in the ground-breaking ceremony of an orthodox monastery in pyongyang. It was seen off at the airport by chairman of the committee of the Korean Orthodox Church Ho Il Jin and Russian Ambassador to the DPRK Andrei Karlov.
    During its stay in Korea the delegation visited Mangyongdae, the Tower of the Juche Idea, the International Friendship Exhibition, the Monument to the Three Charters for National Reunification, the Liberation Tower and other places.

Head of delegation of Russian Orthodox Church interviewed

     Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- Archbishop Kliment, first vice-chairman for foreign affairs who is heading the delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church, was interviewed by KCNA on June 25. He said that he was pleased with the successful ground-breaking ceremony of an orthodox monastery in Pyongyang, adding that brief as his stay in Korea was he was deeply impressed to see the reality of the DPRK.
