Work of Kim Jong Il Published in Mexico

     Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il's famous work "The Present Times and the Tasks Facing Young People" was published in pamphlet by the Mexican Workers' Party Publishing House on October 3. The pamphlet said in its preface that the famous work of Kim Jong Il was published on the occasion of the 58th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea.
    The work was made public on October 12, Juche 77 (1988).

Reception at DPRK Embassy in Havana

     Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- A reception was given at the DPRK embassy in Havana on October 2 on the occasion of the 77th birthday of Fidel Castro Ruz, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of its Council of State and the Council of Ministers. Present on invitation were members of the CPC Central Committee and officials of the Department of International Affairs of the party, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. And the DPRK ambassador and embassy officials were present.
    Speeches were made at the reception.
    The first vice-minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba in a speech said that the Cuban and Korean peoples established fraternal and comradely relations long ago and have struggled against U.S. imperialism, the common enemy.
    The U.S. imperialists have become more arrogant in their moves in recent years to lord it over in the world, he noted, and continued:
    Under this situation we should staunchly fight against the U.S. imperialists' moves for aggression and maintain the revolutionary principle, rallied close around the party and the leader.
    Our two peoples will further strengthen the solidarity based on the revolutionary principle in the future, too, as in the past so as to check and frustrate the U.S. imperialists' moves for aggression and achieve a great victory in the socialist construction.

Foreign Diplomats Visit Party Founding Museum

     Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- Officials in charge of cultural and friendly relations of different embassies in Pyongyang Tuesday visited the Party Founding Museum on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's election as general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 58th anniversary of the WPK. They looked round historic relics, being briefed on the fact that President Kim Il Sung founded the WPK after the country's liberation on the basis of the organizational and ideological foundation for the party founding and the revolutionary traditions provided by him in the days of the bloody
    anti-Japanese struggle and strengthened and developed the party into a strong party rooted among broad popular masses.
    That day they also visited the Monument to Party Founding.

Floral Basket Laid before Statue of Kim Il Sung

     Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- Officials in charge of cultural and friendly relations of different embassies in Pyongyang Tuesday laid a floral basket before the Statue of President Kim Il Sung on Mansu Hill on the occasion of the 58th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea. Libyan Secretary Hosts Reception

     Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- Ahmed Amer Al Muakkaf, secretary of the People's Bureau of the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya to the DPRK, arranged a reception Tuesday evening on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's election as general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 58th anniversary of the WPK. Present on invitation were Vice-president Yang Hyong Sop of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly and Chairman Ryom Sun Gil of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, Vice-minister Kung Sok Ung of Foreign Affairs and other officials concerned.
    The secretary in his speech said that the Korean people united close around leader Kim Jong Il have made steady progress in building a great prosperous powerful nation, adding that the friendly relations between Libya and the DPRK have steadily developed under the deep care of the leaders of the two countries.
    Yang Hyong Sop said that the friendly relations between the DPRK and Libya are strong ones as they were provided by President Kim Il Sung and Colonel Gaddafi and are developing under the deep care of Kim Jong Il.
    The Korean people will stand firm on the side of the Libyan Arab people in their energetic efforts to achieve the independent development and prosperity of the country under the leadership of Colonel Gaddafi, he said. .

World Public Protests S. Korea's Troop Dispatch Moves

     Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- Organizations of various countries strongly denounced the scheme of the south Korean authorities to dispatch combat troops to Iraq at the request of the U.S. The U.S. All Anti-Imperialists Wishing to Build Solidarity with the DPRK in its statement on Sept. 25 said it could hardly repress towering rage at the moves of the south Korean Grand National Party to massively dispatch troops to Iraq in order to plunge south Korea deeper into subjection to the U.S.
    The statement called upon the international leftist forces and all the people desirous of freedom to unconditionally support the righteous anti-U.S. resistance of the Korean people and the Arab people and demanded that the U.S. administration promptly stop mud-slinging at the DPRK, sign a non-aggression treaty with the DPRK and withdraw its troops from south Korea.
    Saying that the "nuclear issue" of the DPRK is as plain as noonday, the statement stressed that the global community should support the right of the DPRK to build its strong military deterrent without the slightest illusion about the U.S. which killed millions of Koreans.
    The British Association for the Study of the Songun Policy in letters of protest to the U.S. president and the south Korean leading authority on Sept. 25 strongly protested the moves to send south Korean combat troops to Iraq.
    On the same day, Alejandro Cao de Benos, chairman of the Association for Friendship with Korean People in Spain, in an open letter to the south Korean people said that the south Korean youth should look forward to a peaceful future of the reunified nation free from the colonial domination of the U.S. and not fall a worthless victim to the U.S. President Bush. Meanwhile, Polish and British personages in protest letters to the U.S. administration and the south Korean authorities condemned the scheme to dispatch troops to Iraq and urged the south Korean people not to support the U.S. criminal acts in Iraq but strive to drive the U.S. troops out of south Korea and achieve Korea's reunification.

KCNA Assails Reckless Remarks of Japan's LDP Heavyweight

     Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- Abe, secretary general of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan, is busy making unsavory remarks against the DPRK. He at a press conference on October 3 asserted that it is necessary to discuss some issues including the revision of the law on the management of foreign exchange in a way to help solve the abduction issue, expressing his intention to examine the economic sanctions to be imposed upon the DPRK, according to Nihonkeizai Shimbun.
    It is improper for a heavyweight of the ruling party to talk about "sanctions" against a sovereign state. He might know this well in view of his present status and his political career deeply involved in the DPRK-Japan relations.
    It is not the first time that he let loose a string of vituperation against the DPRK.
    When he was holding the post as the deputy chief Cabinet secretary, he, referring to the abduction issue, asserted that the early repatriation of all family members of the victims is a precondition for the normalization of the relations." Such stand of the government and the party will remain unchanged in the future too, he added.
    He even did not bother to utter such provocative remarks that even if eight members of the families of the abducted Japanese are allowed to visit Japan the curtain of the abduction issue should not be lowered and Japan should not meet any demand for compensation.
    As far as the abduction issue, which Abe raises as a signboard to win his political popularity, is concerned, it is an issue that has already been solved with the publication of the DPRK-Japan Pyongyang Declaration as a momentum.
    Abe visited Pyongyang at that time as an official member of the Japanese side's delegation. His act of snubbing this can not be construed otherwise than a deliberate act to hamstring the implementation of the declaration.
    All facts suffice to prove that Abe is a typical ultra-nationalist who is obsessed with the ambition for militarization and fascistization for reinvasion as he has persistently negated the innumerable crimes Japan committed against Korea, instead of admitting, apologizing and compensating for them.
    Abe should clearly face up to Japan's past history and behave with discretion if he is interested in the political future of Japan and the improved relations between the DPRK and Japan even a bit.

Invincible Workers' Party of Korea

     Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- October 8 is the 6th anniversary of the election of leader Kim Jong Il as the general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea. Celebrations Held

     Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- Meetings of agricultural workers and members of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea and workers and members of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea were held on Oct. 6 and 7 to celebrate the 6th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's election as general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea. The meetings heard reports of Chairman Ryom Sun Gil of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea and Chairman Sung Sang Sop of the Central Committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea, which were followed by speeches.
    The reporters and speakers said Kim Jong Il's election as general secretary of the WPK was a historic event guaranteeing the vigorous advance of the WPK and the revolution and the eternal prosperity of the motherland.
    Kim Jong Il put forward the unique Songun idea and has strengthened and developed the WPK into a powerful revolutionary party of the Songun era and indicated a bright road of vigorously pushing forward the building of a great prosperous powerful socialist nation, foiling the imperialists' moves to stifle the DPRK, they noted.

Anniversary of Kim Jong Il's Election as WPK General Secretary Observed

     Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il's election as general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea on October 8, Juche 86 (1997) was a historic event that opened a bright prospect of the Party and the revolution, say papers today in editorials dedicated to the day. Rodong Sinmun says that his election provided a sure guarantee for strengthening and developing the Party into an eternal Juche-type revolutionary party and accomplishing the Songun revolutionary cause that started on Mt. Paektu.
    Noting that he is a peerless statesman who has led the Korean revolution to victory with his outstanding political ability, the paper goes on: The past six years of his activities are recorded as an immortal epic as he has developed the Party into a strong political organization steering the Songun era.
    It is a historic feat he has performed for the past 6 years that he has intensified the work to imbue the whole Party and society with the Songun idea as required by the prevailing situation and the new higher stage of the Juche-oriented revolution and consolidated the single-hearted unity of the revolutionary ranks at a new level.
    All the servicepersons and people should become staunch fighters upholding his idea and prestige and self-blasting soldiers defending the security of the headquarters at the risk of their lives and remain true to his Songun idea and leadership.

Strengthened Cooperation with UNESCO Stressed

     Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- The DPRK government will further strengthen cooperation with UNESCO and all its member states, true to its foreign policy based on the idea of independence, peace and friendship, to positively contribute to international efforts for world peace, declared the head of the DPRK delegation on October 3, speaking at the 32nd meeting of the General Conference of UNESCO. The DPRK in recent years has made enormous efforts to decisively raise the quality of education and the level of up-to-date science and technology to meet the requirements of the era of IT industry in the new century according to its policy of attaching importance to education and science while treasuring and preserving well cultural legacies of the nation and national tradition, he said.
    Affirmatively appreciating the activities of UNESCO in the last period under review, he urged the organization to pay due attention in its plan for the new period to finding a more practical and concrete way to ensure fairness and balance in its overall work such as cooperation among its member states and, especially, to increasing the abilities of the developing countries.
    He expressed the belief that UNESCO would fulfil its responsibility and role as an intellectual organization in accomplishing the common cause of humankind for peace, development and equality in the new period, too.
    Noting that the solution to the nuclear issue between the DPRK and U.S. stands out as a matter of greatest urgency for peace and security of the Korean peninsula, the region and the rest of the world, he said: It is a consistent stand of the DPRK government to settle the nuclear issue peacefully through dialogue and negotiations.
    The DPRK government and people will implement the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration to the end to achieve national reconciliation, unity and reunification and contribute to peace and security of the region and the world, he stated.

Seminars Held in Different Countries

     Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- Seminars were held at the Indian International Center, the Romanian Communist Party and the Quito Group for the Study of Man-centered Juche Philosophy of Ecuador on September 30 and October 1 on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's election as general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 58th anniversary of the WPK. Om Prakash Mantri, secretary general of the Asian Regional Committee to Support Korea's Reunification, said at a seminar that the road of victory and glory covered by the WPK bears footmarks of President Kim Il Sung, and the feats made by the WPK and its might and high dignity are unthinkable apart from him.
    The WPK unswervingly preserves its character and mission as a party defending the demands and interests of the working class and the popular masses and fighting to realize their independence, he noted.
    Alexandru Pantagi, chairman of the Central Committee of the Romanian Communist Party, at a seminar highly praised Kim Jong Il who has defended socialism and opened a phase of dramatic turn in accomplishing the cause of the country's reunification by putting forward the original Songun policy embodying the Juche idea to cope with the imperialists' vicious moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK.      Pyongyang, 8 de octubre (ATCC) -- Abe, secretario en jefe del Partido Democratico Liberal de Japon, no cesa de proferir palabras malsanas contra la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea. Segun el periodico "Nihon Keizai Shimbun", en una conferencia de prensa del dia 3 Abe, al exponer la intencion de revisar la sancion economica hacia la RPDC dijo: "Hay que discutir los problemas que contribuyan a solucionar el problema de secuestro incluyendo la enmienda de la ley de control de divisas".
    Tanto a la luz de su oficio actual como a la vista de su antecedente politico que tiene que ver con las relaciones Corea-Japon el sabra con suficiencia que sera un acto injusto el que un miembro ejecutivo del partido en poder hable de la "sancion" contra un Estado soberano.
    En el pasado el no ceso de proferir palabras hostiles a Corea.
    En los ultimos tiempos fungiendo de subdirector del Secretariado del Gabinete dijo que "Es la condicion preliminar de la normalizacion de las relaciones diplomaticas devolver pronto todos los familiares de los danados" y declaro que "el gobierno y el partido mantendran invariablemente en el futuro esta posicion".
    Menciono: "tambien en el caso en que se de permiso a la visita a Japon de 8 familiares de los japoneses danados del secuestro no debe dar conclusion al problema del secuestro ni aceptar la demanda sobre la indemnizacion de cualquier indole".
    El "problema del secuestro" que el porta para ganarse la popularidad politica fue solucionado completamente por la publicacion de la Declaracion Corea-Japon de Pyongyang.
    Abe fue un miembro oficial de la delegacion japonesa que en aquel tiempo visitaba a Pyongyang. Ahora finge desconocerlo con el intento de estorbar intencionalmente la ejecucion de dicha declaracion.
    Los hechos arriba mencionados demuestran que ese tipejo es un ultranacionalista representativo que en vez de reconocer los crimenes de Japon cometidos en el pasado contra Corea y de hacer disculpa e indemnizacion por ello esta cautivado por la ambicion de la militarizacion y fascistizacion para la nueva agresion.
    Si Abe tiene una pizca de interes en el futuro politico de su pais y las relaciones con Corea debe darse clara cuenta de la historia pasada y actuar con prudencia.

Gobierno de RPDC fortalecera cooperacion con la UNESCO y todos sus miembros

     Pyongyang, 8 de octubre (ATCC) -- El gobierno de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea fortalecera tambien en el futuro la cooperacion con la Organizacion de las Naciones Unidas para la Educacion, la Ciencia y la Cultura (UNESCO) y todos sus miembros segun el ideal de politica exterior de la independencia, la paz y la amistad contribuyendo asi activamente a los esfuerzos internacionales por la paz mundial. Subrayo asi el dia 3 el jefe de la delegacion de la RPDC en el 32o periodo de sesiones de la asamblea general de la UNESCO.
    El jefe de la delegacion se refirio a que en los ultimos anos, segun la politica de dar importancia a la ensenanza y la ciencia, la RPDC presto gran fuerza a elevar decisivamente la calidad de la ensenanza y el nivel de ciencia-tecnica de punta de acuerdo con la demanda de la epoca de la industria de informatica del nuevo siglo y a mantener el patrimonio cultural nacional y las tradiciones folcloricas.
    Evaluo positivamente las actividades del periodo pasado de la UNESCO y senalo que en el plan del nuevo periodo esta debe hacer mas realista y minucioso el medio para asegurar la imparcialidad y el equilibrio de la labor de la organizacion en su conjunto incluida la asistencia a sus miembros paises y en particular se debe prestar debida atencion al fortalecimiento de la capacidad de los paises en vias de desarrollo en las actividades de esta organizacion.
    Expreso esperanza de que la UNESCO eleve tambien en el nuevo periodo su responsabilidad y papel de entidad intelectual en la realizacion de la causa comun de la humanidad por la paz, el desarrollo y la igualdad.
    La solucion del problema nuclear entre la RPDC y EE.UU. se presenta como tarea apremiante para preservar la paz y la seguridad de la Peninsula Coreana, la region y el mundo, dijo el jefe de la delegacion y subrayo que solucionar por via pacifica mediante el dialogo y negociaciones el problema nuclear es la invariable posicion del gobierno de la RPDC.

Invencible Partido del Trabajo de Corea

La competencia se efectuo por 4 tiempos entre los equipos "Athae" de la parte Norte y "Asan" de la Sur de ambos sexos.Presenciaronla el viceprimer ministro del Consejo de Ministros Kwak Pom Gi, Ri Jong Hyok, vicepresidente del Comite Coreano por la Paz de Asia y el Pacifico (CCPAP), An Kyong Ho, vicepresidente del Comite por la Reunificacion Pacifica de la Patria, Jo Ui Suk, vicepresidente del Comite de Direccion de Deportes de Corea y otros funcionarios, asi como trabajadores de distintos sectores de la ciudad de Pyongyang y los miembros del grupo para la ceremonia de la parte Sur presidido por Kim Yun Gyu, director de la Firma Hyundai y Asan de Sudcorea.
    Con anterioridad se efectuo la interpretacion con ritmos de la banda femenina de instrumentos de viento. Tambien, durante el partido se ofrecio la funcion de varias piezas entre otras las de danza y acrobacia.
    El equipo masculino "Athae" y el femenino "Asan" salieron vencedores.
    Al termino de la competencia Ri Jong Hyok y Kim Yun Gyu dieron recuerdos a los jugadores de ambos equipos .
