U.S. Responsible for Threat to Peace

     Pyongyang, November 24 (KCNA) -- U.S. Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld let loose the rigmarole that the purpose of the six-way talks was to seek "a diplomatic way" to forestall any threat from the north Korean side to the Korean peninsula, its region and the rest of the world. Rodong Sinmun in a signed commentary today dismisses this as a sophism prompted by the sinister intention to justify the nuclear arms buildup of the U.S. and reinforce the leverage for international pressure on the DPRK and interference in its affairs to invent a pretext for military invasion of it.
    It goes on:
    It is none other than the U.S. which is chiefly responsible for the threat to peace in the Korean peninsula, its region and the rest of the world. More than 20,000 pieces of nuclear weapons are piled up in the U.S. nuclear arsenals. As if they were not enough, the U.S. is putting spurs to the development of such mass destruction weapons as smaller nukes and germ weapons.
    What the U.S. imperialists pursue are aggression and war for world supremacy.
    The U.S. intends to build up international public opinion on the "threat" from the DPRK through the six-way talks and, under this pretext, seek and round off the method of stifling it.
    This is what it calls "diplomatic way." This means a new war of aggression on the DPRK.
    The purpose of the U.S. is to stifle the DPRK at any cost by a nuclear war and other means with international "diplomatic support."
    The U.S. should stop trumpeting about "threat" from the DPRK and make a political decision to drop its hostile policy to stifle it.

DPRK Women Boxers Prove Successful

     Pyongyang, November 24 (KCNA) -- DPRK women boxers won 6 gold, 2 silver and 1 copper medals, thus coming first in the team standing at the 2nd Asian Women's Boxing Championships held in New Delhi from November 19 to 22. People's Sportswoman Ri Jong Hyang, Merited Sportswoman Pak Kyong Ok, Kim Kwang Ok, Yun Kum Ju, Kang Kum Hui and Kim Chol Ok carried away gold medals by placing first in the 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 57kg, 60kg and 70kg category matches respectively.
    Meanwhile, Ha Son Bi placed second in the 54kg match and Kim Hye Yong in the 63kg match and Ri Jong Sim came third in the 66 kg match.
    The championships drew more than 70 ace women boxers from 9 countries and regions of Asia.

Withdrawal of U.S. Troops from S. Korea Demanded

     Pyongyang, November 24 (KCNA) -- As all the countries and nations desire independence, peace and social progress, the withdrawal of the U.S. troops from south Korea has become a demand of the era and the nation and a bounden duty of the United States, says Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article. It goes on:
    The U.S. imperialist aggression force's presence in south Korea is a product of the U.S. aggressive policy toward Korea and a leftover of the era of the Cold War and the present era no longer allows this presence.
    The historic June 15 North-South Joint Declaration serves as a milestone of national reunification in the 21st century as it put an end to the north-south relations of antagonism and confrontation and opened a new chapter of national alliance and cooperation. The core of the joint declaration is to settle the issue of reunification by the concerted efforts of our nation.
    And the main spirit of the declaration is "By our nation itself".
    Our nation is bringing about a stirring reality in the course of joining efforts in this spirit. Koreans from all walks of life are taking the road of reunification and patriotism. Air and sea routes and land transport are used for exchange and cooperation between them while the blood ties of the nation are being rejoined. The whole world is supporting and hailing our nation's ties of reconciliation, cooperation and unity.
    It is only the United States that is working hard to stem the trend of the times. Not pleased with the joint declaration, the U.S. is obstructing its implementation by every possible means.
    The U.S. moves are unanimously denounced by the Koreans as they go against the times, history and their desire. No Korean would allow the U.S. domination and interference in his country. There is no reason for the U.S. troops to remain in south Korea now that the north and south are working hard to achieve independent reunification by the concerted efforts of the nation.

Achievements in Researches into Cell and Gene Engineering

     Pyongyang, November 24 (KCNA) -- The Branch Academy of Cell and Gene Engineering under the Academy of Sciences of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has achieved many successes in researches. In recent years, they developed a method of virus-free potato tissue culture, a method of extensively propagating various species of saplings and a method of culturing gene extracted from human growth hormone in microorganism and separating and purifying it. They also made peroxidase and 19 other kinds of enzymes needed in researches into gene engineering.
    A progress has also been made in researches for cultivating transgenic plants, obtaining useful materials such as growth hormone from microorganism made in a way of gene engineering and deciding the base arrangement order of gene.
    The branch academy in Taesong District, Pyongyang, was founded in June Juche 80 (1991).
    It has departments specializing in researches into subdivided fields of cell and gene engineering and is fully equipped with up-to-date research facilities including a base arrangement analyzer.
    An average age of the researchers is 35 and 40 percent of the employees were honored with academic degrees or titles.
    The branch academy is directing great efforts to training experts and gathering information through manifold interchange with authoritative institutes of cell and gene engineering of different countries including Germany, Russia and China.
    Chief of the branch academy Ho Kwang Chun told KCNA that though its history is not long, it has fully demonstrated its ability by developing up-to-the-minute science and technologies.
    He is convinced that it will rank among the world's famous institutes of cell and gene engineering in the near future by concentrating on the training of experts and scientific researches.

Political Dialogue between DPRK and Swedish Delegations Held

     Pyongyang, November 24 (KCNA) -- A political dialogue between the delegations of the Foreign Ministries of the DPRK and Sweden took place here today. The dialogue discussed the issue of boosting the bilateral relations and other issues of mutual concern.

DPRK Foreign Minister Meets Swedish Delegation

     Pyongyang, November 24 (KCNA) -- DPRK Foreign Minister Paek Nam Sun today met and had a friendly talk with the delegation of the Swedish Foreign Ministry headed by its Director-general for Political Affairs Anders Liden. Present there were an official concerned and the Swedish ambassador to the DPRK.

Renovated Reconstructed Swedish Embassy Premises Opened

     Pyongyang, November 24 (KCNA) -- An opening ceremony of the renovated Swedish embassy premises here was held on the spot today. Invited there were Kung Sok Ung, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, and other officials concerned and diplomatic envoys and representatives of international organizations and members of the non-governmental aid organizations active in the DPRK.
    Also present were Ambassador Paul Beijer and staff members of the Swedish embassy here and members of the visiting delegation of the Swedish Foreign Ministry headed by its Director-general for Political Affairs Anders Liden.
    Anders Liden and Kung Sok Ung made congratulatory speeches at the ceremony.
    The ambassador hosted a reception on the occasion in the evening.

Anniversary of DPRK-China Agreement Marked

     Pyongyang, November 23 (KCNA) -- The DPRK Ministries of Foreign Trade and Culture arranged a reception at the People's Palace of Culture on November 22 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the conclusion of the agreement on economic and cultural cooperation between the governments of the DPRK and China. Present on invitation were Ambassador Wu Donghe and staff members of the Chinese embassy here.
    Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, and other officials concerned were also present.
    Speeches were made there.

Fair Settlement of Human Rights Issue Called for

     Pyongyang, November 23 (KCNA) -- The DPRK will make every effort to defend the sovereignty of the country, guarantee the genuine rights of the people in every way and ensure impartiality and objectivity in solving the international human rights issues. A DPRK delegate said this at the meeting of the 3rd Committee of the 58th UN General Assembly on November 17 when it was discussing the agenda item 117 "Human Rights Issue."
    Clarifying the stance of the DPRK for a fair settlement of the human rights issue worldwide and the protection and promotion of the human rights, he said as follows:
    First. The DPRK regards it as the primary task to respect the state sovereignty and guarantee vital rights, etc.
    Second. It considers it particularly important for guaranteeing human rights to thoroughly reject the politicization of human rights, double standards and selectivity.
    Third. It is necessary to pay due attention to guaranteeing the right to development in order to fully solve the world human rights issue.
    Referring to a chain of organized terrorist acts perpetrated by the right-wing gangsters against the organizations of all levels under the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) in its different parts at the tacit connivance and instigation of the government, he demanded Japan immediately stop the anti-Chongryon campaign.
    He said:
    It is serious human rights abuses to impose a unilateral view on value on other states and even force them to change their political system and way of life. It is imperative to pay attention to putting an end to the unilateral act of branding the countries pursuing independent politics as "violators of human rights."
    He underscored the need to give priority to the right to development, an inseparable factor of human rights, and take practical international measures to eradicate the poverty and write off the debts of the developing countries.
    The DPRK, a socialist state with the man-centered Juche idea as its guiding principle, considers it as a state policy to steadily promote the human rights of all the citizens in a responsible manner and its government has consistently maintained the stance of treasuring cooperation with the international community in the field of human rights, he said.

Pro-U.S. Traitor's Outbursts Blasted

     Pyongyang, November 23 (KCNA) -- Choe Pyong Ryol, representative of the "Grand National Party" of south Korea, addressing a recent meeting of the permanent steering committee of the party, asserted that the south Korean government should accept the U.S. stand to continue using 270,000 phyong of land in Ryongsan even after the transfer of its military base from it. In this regard Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary dismisses this as a pro-U.S. traitorous remark unprecedented in the history of south Korean politics.
    The U.S. is hellbent on realizing its strategic purpose and interests, utterly indifferent to the dignity and interests of the south Korean people as regards the transfer of its forces' base in Ryongsan, the commentary notes, and goes on: This notwithstanding, the pro-U.S. traitors including Choe Pyong Ryol came out to unconditionally yield to the demand of the U.S., their master, and are acting a spokesman for it far from reacting against its outrageous behaviour.
    Choe's group is going reckless to serve and please the U.S. as regards the issue of additional dispatch of troops to Iraq and the issue of the transfer of the U.S. forces' base in Ryongsan, the biggest pending issue between south Korea and the U.S.
    Choe Pyong Ryol is known to be a guy ready to do anything in the U.S. interests. That was why he did not bother to let loose such pro-U.S. outbursts threatening and reproaching the south Korean authorities for expressing "discordant" views on the issue of the transfer of the U.S. forces' base in Ryongsan and protecting the prestige and interests of his master.
    His behaviour is little short of the treachery of "the five traitors of 1905" who sold off the country to the Japanese imperialists early in the last century.
    Immeasurable is the damage done by Choe's group to the people in south Korea and all other Koreans. A poisonous herb should be rooted out in time.

All Koreans Urged to Remain True to Idea of "By Our Nation Itself"

     Pyongyang, November 23 (KCNA) -- The movement of all the Koreans for reconciliation, cooperation and reunification is one for reunifying the country independently in the spirit of "By our nation itself," the main content of the historic June 15 joint declaration. Rodong Sinmun today says this in a signed article. It goes on:
    The historic Pyongyang meeting and the publication of the June 15 joint declaration ushered in a new historic era, the era of independence and reunification, in which the Koreans work hard to achieve reconciliation, cooperation and reunification by their concerted efforts.
    "By our nation itself", the idea of national independence and the great unity of the nation, helped significantly bolster the desire of all the Koreans for national independence and great unity and bring about events unprecedented in the north-south relations and the movement for reunification.
    The whole of Korea is swept by a nationwide movement for unity and reunification thanks to the idea of "By our nation itself", a great banner of patriotism, unity and reunification.
    This stirring reality clearly proves that the movement for national unity and independent reunification has become a trend of the times which no force can stem.
    The movement for reconciliation, cooperation and reunification is making steady progress despite all sorts of challenges and obstructions of outsiders and anti-reunification forces. This is a clear indication that nothing can hold in check the Korean nation's movement for independent reunification.
    A grave situation is prevailing on the Korean peninsula and the movement for improved north-south relations and independent reunification facing a grave challenge due to the U.S. moves to stifle the DPRK and ignite a new war. But nothing can stop the dynamic advance of the fellow countrymen for independent reunification.
    All Koreans are called upon to firmly uphold the idea of "By our nation itself", a great proposition for independent reunification, and embody it to the letter.
    They will decisively meet challenges from inside and outside and accelerate the dynamic advance for independent reunification with fresh conviction and optimism under the banner of "By our nation itself," concludes the article.

Provincial Branch of Vietnam-Korea Friendship Association Formed

     Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) -- The inaugural ceremony of the Hau Giang Provincial Branch of the Vietnam-Korea Friendship Association and its 1st meeting were held in the provincial seat on November 16. Present there were the chairman of the association, the chairman of the Vietnam-Korea Friendship Club, political and public figures and people from all walks of life in the province.
    A draft of the branch statute was made public and a report on the future activities of the branch was made at the meeting.
    Public figures made congratulatory speeches.
    The vice-chairman of the Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee in his speech said that the friendly relations between Vietnam and the DPRK were provided and fostered by President Kim Il Sung and President Ho Chi Minh. He noted that the DPRK extended disinterested strong material and moral support and cooperation to Vietnam in the past and the Vietnam people would never forget it.
    The meeting elected the executive board of the branch and adopted a resolution.

Former Unconverted Long-Term Prisoner Kim Jong Ho Passes Away

     Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) -- Former Unconverted Long-Term Prisoner Kim Jong Ho died of the whole body malfunction of all-internal organs caused by hard tortures at a prison in south Korea on Nov. 21, Juche 92 (2003) at the age of 87. According to the obituary of his death published on Friday, he was born in Kimchon City, North Kyongsang Province on August 2, 1916 and wandered about in a foreign country, experiencing sorrows of a ruined nation during the period of the Japanese imperialists' military occupation.
    Only after President Kim Il Sung liberated the country he could lead a true human life in the homeland.
    He worked at local and national institutions right after the liberation of the country and during the Fatherland Liberation War and he devoted himself to the cause of national reunification after the war.
    He firmly defended his revolutionary faith in the Party and the leader and principle as a member of the Workers' Party of Korea while braving severe punishment and appeasement for his "ideological convert" for over 30 years after he was unfortunately arrested by enemies while struggling for national reunification.
    Thanks to the historic June 15 joint declaration he was embraced by the Party. He had since remained faithful to the Party to the last moment of his life with a single heart to repay to the benevolent care of leader Kim Jong Il.

KCNA Blasts Rumsfeld's Vituperation

     Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) -- U.S. Defense Secretary Rumsfeld reportedly slandered the DPRK as an "evil country" and an "evil regime" again during his Asian visit. It is nothing surprising that Rumsfeld talked such nonsense as he put Hitler into the shade in man-killing and war hysteria.
    But we can never pardon him for malignantly slandering our dignified and inviolable political system whether he is a political dwarf, human scum or hysteric.
    His hands are stained with the blood shed by so many people.
    He is, indeed, a human butcher and fascist tyrant who puts an ogre to shame.
    It was none other than Rumsfeld who set out the theory of "preemptive nuclear attack," massacred innocent people in every part of the world and hurled GIs into the Iraqi war and other abysses of death. Wherever he went he sparked aggression, war and horrible disaster.
    It is ridiculous of such a war fanatic to talk about evil and other country's policy.
    It is tragedy that he does not know he himself is a kingpin of evil.
    Such vituperation was let loose by Rumsfeld known to play a major role in shaping the politics of the U.S. administration at a time when Bush is talking about "written security assurances" to the DPRK. This goes to prove that the "security assurances" are nothing but a farce to deceive the DPRK.
    This also clearly proved that the Bush group remains unchanged in its wolfish design to unleash a new war on the Korean peninsula at any cost, far from opting to co-exist with the DPRK in peace, and its inveterate denial of the DPRK system.
    If his vituperation represents the stance of the Bush administration, it can not but cast a doubt about the prospect of the six-way talks but only reinforces the conviction that there is no other way but to stand in confrontation with the U.S. to the end.
    And this compels us to approach with vigilance the true intention of the Bush administration clamoring for a "peaceful settlement" of the nuclear issue.
    The wrong way of thinking and sinister intention of the U.S. bellicose forces to detain us in the conference room and focus on mounting a preemptive nuclear attack on us behind the curtain clearly prove the justice of our decision to increase our nuclear deterrent force.

Japan Urged to Return Abducted Korean Citizens

     Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) -- As already reported, some members of the Japanese right-wing organizations made their ways to Korean-Chinese border areas and secretly took to Japan at least 20 Japanese spouses, Korean returnees from Japan and their families who were residing in the DPRK. This incident is cursed by the international community as a serious abduction case violating international law, the DPRK law and laws of a third country and Japan as it was prompted by a sinister political purpose.
    Hiroshi Kato, head of the "Fund for Relief of North Korean Refugees" directly involved in this case, is describing its criminal act as a "humanitarian aid" in a bid to evade its responsibility under international law.
    This is a far-fetched assertion of a criminal which can convince nobody.
    It is already known to the world that in last November he was arrested and put into custody by the Chinese Public Security authorities for kidnapping Korean citizens but was deported later.
    It is really surprising that he is still talking about "humanitarianism" to cover up the crime though the truth behind the case has been clearly probed.
    In saying so, he is trying to tarnish the DPRK's genuine humanitarianism. This is the height of folly.
    Explicitly speaking, the DPRK government has provided governmental or non-governmental organizations, political parties, public organizations and individuals of every country with all conditions for rendering humanitarian aid in any capacity irrespective of bilateral relations, their political tendencies and positions.
    In case of Japan, the DPRK government has provided it with all legitimate conditions for rendering humanitarian assistance through such channels as remittance through banks and post offices, shipping service, etc. It is also allowing Japanese Korean women to visit their hometowns as desired by them.
    Thanks to the DPRK government's magnanimous humanitarian measures governmental or non-governmental organizations and individuals of many countries including those hostile toward the DPRK are participating in humanitarian aid programs.
    But it is only this right-wing organization in Japan that is disregarding the legitimate channel provided for humanitarian aid and resorting to operations to abduct individual citizens of the DPRK in DPRK-China border areas, dividing their harmonious families and barring them from hearing from each other.
    Families and relatives of those abducted to Japan are now living in uneasiness and horror over the fate of their loved abductees.
    Is it true "humanitarianism"?
    What should not be overlooked is that the recent abduction was committed at the connivance and instigation of the Japanese government.
    The Japanese media have already reported that at least 20 above-said victims had come to Japan after receiving visas from the Japanese Foreign Ministry.
    And Chief Cabinet Secretary Fukuda said that it was the government's duty to protect and promote their security and expressed his willingness to examine support for them, a clear proof that the government is behind this incident.
    The Red Cross organizations of both countries are getting in touch with each other to alleviate the sufferings of the abductees and their families.
    Article 2 of the nationality law of the DPRK stipulates that any DPRK citizen is entitled to receive political and legal protection of the DPRK irrespective of abode.
    The Japanese side should investigate and sternly punish the criminals who abducted the DPRK citizens and return them to their families without delay.

Stop to Move to Enact "Law on Combating Terrorism" Demanded

     Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) -- The Reunification Solidarity of south Korea reportedly issued a statement entitled "Stop plotting to enact the law on combating terrorism aiming to go back to the Cold War and oppressive system" on Nov. 13. The statement said that the handling of a "bill on combating terrorism" at the "Intelligence Committee of the National Assembly" is a pro-American act to follow the U.S. policy of "anti-terrorism" in a bid to make oppressive mechanism, which shows how persistently the conservative forces are resorting to the Cold War way of thinking.
    On the same day the People's Solidarity for Abolition of the "Security Law" made public a statement and charged that the "law on combating terrorism" is an evil law against democracy to suppress the struggle for vital rights of workers, peasants and other people and their activities for social democratization.
    Those "national assemblymen" who took the lead in enacting the "law on combating terrorism", a product of submission to the United States, will face strong protest of the people, the statement said.

Appeal to All People in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) -- The Information Department of the Central Committee of the National Democratic Front of South Korea issued an appeal to all the people on November 20, according to the Internet site of the "Kuguk Jonson." The appeal said:
    The whole political camp has been plunged into chaos with the disclosure of irregularities of political parties in illegally plundering business funds for the 16th term "presidential election" and people's denunciation of corrupt statesmen is bursting out in south Korea.
    The indignation of the people at the south Korean Grand National Party, a rare party of thieves and a party of mafia, is skyhigh. The GNP is threatening prosecution, denying investigation and framing up a "law on special investigation into scandals of persons close to the president" with "counter-fire operations." This is a shameful act of political gangsters.
    The Democratic Party is turning its back on the chief executive and joining hands with the GNP which has been its enemy. This base political conspiracy of the party is an unpardonable enemy-benefiting act of encouraging the GNP and the ultra right-wing conservative forces which are seeking the revival of military dictatorship by putting down progressive and democratic forces.
    The appeal called upon people of all strata and civic and public organizations to turn out in the struggle to do away with all pro-American right-wing conservative forces including the GNP, a den of evil doing and crimes and create a true democratic and political atmosphere.
    It also called upon the popular masses to form an anti-U.S. and anti-GNP front and come out in the struggle to liquidate the corrupt politics.
    It called upon all the democratic and patriotic forces to powerfully struggle till they achieve genuine independent and democratic politics.

Congratulations to Mauritanian President

     Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, sent a congratulatory message to Maaouiya Ould Sid Ahmed Taya, president of Mauritania, on November 20. The message warmly congratulated him on his reelection as president, wishing him success in his work.

Greetings to Lebanese President

     Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Friday sent a message of greetings to Emile Lahoud, president of Lebanon, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of its independence. The message sincerely wished the president and people of Lebanon greater success in their work for the stability and prosperity of the country.

White Paper Discloses More GI Massacres in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) -- The Nationwide Special Committee for Probing the Truth behind the GIs Massacre issued a joint white paper (6) on November 21 dealing with part of the reinvestigated materials on the atrocities committed by the U.S. troops stationed in south Korea between 1960 and 1961. The paper says:
    GIs committed man-killing and violence against south Koreans in a more barbarous and cruel manner in the 1960s.
    From the night of February 12 to dawn of Feb. 13, 1960 seven GIs belonging to Company B of the U.S. engineer unit No. 44 arrested Kong Jin Su and six others residing in Jungang-dong,
    Pusan City for no reason and took them to their unit. There GIs stripped the Koreans naked and threw them into a dent and mercilessly hit them with rifle butts and clubs. As if it were not enough with this, GIs robbed them of wristwatches and money valuing at 12,000 south Korean hwan, their clothes and all other belongings and booted them out of the unit naked. This was "Waegwan lynch incident" that was made public on February 24, 1960 issue of World Daily and which infuriated the south Koreans.
    Innumerable are atrocities committed by GIs against Koreans as evidenced by the following cases recorded in April alone.
    GIs shot to death or seriously wounded Korean passers-by for fun. These crimes were committed by a first sergeant belonging to Tank Unit No. 40 of the U.S. 7th Division on April 20, a private belonging to Company C of the U.S. Infantry Battalion No. 19 of the U.S. 4th Guided Missile Command on April 25 and a platoon sergeant belonging to Company B of the U.S. 8th Armored Regiment of the First Armored Division on April 29.
    At around 10 p.m. on May 15 a recruit belonging to Company C of Reconnaissance Battalion No. 1 of the U.S. Armored Regiment No. 9 demanded Ri Jong Hun residing in Pangchuk-ri, Kwangthan-myon, Phaju County show him an ID card and shot him to death on the spot for the mere reason that it was written in Korean. This clearly proves the true colours of GIs as most heinous man-killers, plunderers and destructors.
    On February 7, 1961 an air force officer of the U.S. imperialist aggression troops and three others took away a camera from Kim Kun Thaek, journalist who was in Kimpho Airport for news coverage, for no proper reason, threatened him with carbine rifles, beat him for more than one and half hours, thus putting him in a critical state. They even tore his clothes off. On February 13 a GI private madly drove a truck over 24-year-old Pae Su Hyon on a bike, in a road in Sakson-ri, Thaean-myon, Sosan County, South Chungchong Province, thus putting his cranial bone to rupture and killing him on the spot.
    In Pusan GIs hang upside down a worker from a crane for the mere reason that he did not obey them and drowned him in water while in Phyongthaek, Kyonggi Province GIs drove a crane car over six people passing by thus killing them all.
    A private belonging to the Communication Company No. 581 of the U.S. imperialists madly drove a car, killing O Sun I, 5, who was playing on the roadside in daytime on May 27 and a driver of U.S. troops belonging to the U.S. Engineer Battalion No. 44 drove a car at breakneck speed, hitting and killing Ji Yong Jun, 6, who was playing near the roadside of Samchong-dong, Woegwan-up, Chilgok County on June 5. These facts clearly show the ogrish nature of the GIs who do not regard the south Koreans as human beings.
    The incident of women's hair cutting in Tonduchon that took place on January 2, 1960 was a typical example that showed how savagely GIs gang-raped south Korean women, young and old, regarding them as objects to satisfy their carnal desire.
    The U.S. troops disclosed their true colors as aggressors by plundering and destroying the properties of the south Korean people.
    The Korean nation will force the U.S. imperialist aggression forces to pay for their crimes committed in south Korea without fail and take a thousand-fold revenge upon them, the joint white paper concluded.

Greetings to Lebanese Prime Minister

     Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) -- Pak Pong Ju, premier of the DPRK Cabinet, sent a message of greetings to Rafik Hariri, prime minister of Lebanon, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of its independence. The message sincerely wished him and people of Lebanon greater success in their work to defend the sovereignty of the country and achieve progress and prosperity.
    Foreign Minister Paek Nam Sun sent a similar message to Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigrants Jan Obeid.

Boxeadoras coreanas ganan 6 medallas de oro

     Pyongyang, 24 de noviembre (ATCC) -- Las pugilistas de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea conquistaron 6 medallas de oro, 2 de plata y una de bronce en el 2o Campeonato Asiatico de Boxeo Femenino, efectuado del 19 al 22 del mes en curso en Nueva Delhi, India, y asi ocuparon el primer lugar en la clasificacion general por paises. La Deportista del Pueblo Ri Jong Hyang y la Deportista Benemerita Pak Kyong Ok adquirieron las medallas de oro en las pruebas de categorias de 48 y 50 kilos y las boxeadoras Kim Kwang Ok, Yun Kum Ju, Kang Kum Hui y Kim Chol Ok las conquistaron en las disputas de divisiones de 52, 57, 60 y 70 kilos, respectivamente.
    Por otra parte, Ha Son Bi y Kim Hye Yong se clasificaron la segunda respectivamente en las categorias de 54 y 63 kilos y Ri Jong Sim, tercera en la categoria de 66 kilos.
    Al presente campeonato asistieron mas de 70 boxeadoras calificadas procedentes de 9 paises y regiones de Asia.

Entidades de paz publican declaracion conjunta

     Pyongyang, 24 de noviembre (ATCC) -- El Consejo Mundial de la Paz y otras organizaciones por la paz de 17 paises, entre ellas, el Consejo Mexicano de la Paz, el Consejo Norteamericano de la Paz, el Consejo Aleman de la Paz, el Consejo Congoleno de la Paz y la Organizacion Panindia de la Paz y Solidaridad publicaron el dia 17 una declaracion conjunta en la cual exhortaron a las fuerzas del mundo amantes de la paz a participar activamente en la labor para prevenir la guerra y lograr la paz y la reunificacion en la Peninsula Coreana. La declaracion senala:
    EE.UU. utiliza el problema nuclear en el malsano proposito politico para aislar y aplastar la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea y realizar la estrategia hegemonica en la Peninsula Coreana y el resto del Nordeste Asiatico.
    El problema nuclear debe ser solucionado por el metodo de dialogo en los principios de la accion simultanea deslinados a concertar un confiable tratado de no agresion y eliminar a la vez todas las preocupaciones de ambas partes.
    El encargado principal de la reunificacion de Corea es el pueblo coreano y las fuerzas extranjeras no tienen ninguna razon para intervenir en el respecto. Apoyamos todas las iniciativas de la RPDC para la reunificacion independiente y pacifica del pais.
    Proponemos la convocacion de una conferencia internacional por la paz y la reunificacion en la Peninsula Coreana y exhortamos a todas las entidades y las personalidades amantes de la justicia y la paz a participar en esta conferencia internacional y expresar su apoyo y solidaridad con la lucha del pueblo coreano por defender la soberania, la seguridad y la paz del pais.

EE.UU. es fautor principal que perturba la paz

     Pyongyang, 24 de noviembre (ATCC) -- El diario "Rodong Sinmun" inserto el dia 24 un comentario individual condenando al secretario de Defensa norteamericano Rumsfeld, quien dijo que el proposito de 6 conversaciones reside en buscar un "medio diplomatico" de modo que no surja "cualquier amenaza de la parte del Norte de Corea" a la Peninsula Coreana, la region de su contorno y el resto del mundo. El comentarista senala en particular:
    El rumor de "amenaza" de la RPDC que difunde Rumsfeld es un sofisma para justificar el aumento armamentista nuclear de EE.UU. y tomar el pretexto de agresion militar a la RPDC ampliando la presion internacional y la palanca de intervencion contra esta.
    El fautor principal que perturba la paz de la Peninsula Coreana, la region de su contorno y el resto del mundo es justamente EE.UU..
    Este pais tiene mas de 20 mil armas nucleares en su arsenal. No satisfecho de eso, da aun mas espuelas al desarrollo de las armas de exterminio masivo incluyendo miniartefactos nucleares y armas biologicas.
    EE.UU. persigue solo la agresion y la guerra para la hegemonia mundial. Pretende internacionalizar la "amenaza" de la RPDC a traves de las conversaciones de 6 partes y buscar el metodo para aplastar la RPDC bajo tal pretexto. Esto es precisamente el "metodo diplomatico" de que habla EE.UU., lo que significa una nueva guerra de agresion a Corea. EE.UU. planea aplastar a toda costa la RPDC con la guerra nuclear y otros medios bajo el "apoyo diplomatico" internacional.
    EE.UU. debe dejar de hablar de la teoria de "amenaza" de la RPDC y debe tomar la decision politica de renunciar su politica hostil y de aplastamiento a la RPDC.

"Rodong Sinmun" condena al representante del "Partido Hannara"

     Pyongyang, 24 de noviembre (ATCC) -- Hace unos dias, el representante del "Partido Hannara" del Sur de Corea Choe Pyong Ryol aparecido en el "comite de gestion permanente del partido" armo alboroto insistiendo en que las autoridades surcoreanas deben aceptar la propuesta de EE.UU. de seguir utilizando 270 mil phyong (un phyong equivale a 3, 3058 metros cuadrados) de entre la tierra de base de Ryongsan de las tropas norteamericanas, aun despues de ser trasladada esta base. El periodico "Rodong Sinmun" en un comentario individual del dia 23 lo califica de un acto pro yanquis, nunca visto en la historia politica del Sur de Corea, y continua:
    En estos dias EE.UU., con respecto al traslado de su base militar de Ryongsan, actua desesperadamente por realizar su objetivo estrategico e interes sin hacer caso de la dignidad y los intereses del pueblo surcoreano.
    Sin embargo, Choe Pyong Ryol y otros traidores pro yanquis, en lugar de asestar contraofensiva a la arbitrariedad de los yanquis, obedecen a ciegas a su amo EE.UU. y sirven de vocero de los gringos.
    En cuanto a los problemas pendientes entre el Sur de Corea y EE.UU., que son el envio adicional de efectivos surcoreanos a Iraq y el traslado de la mencionada base, Choe Pyong Ryol y sus compinches actuan locamente por adular y lisonjear a su amo EE.UU.
    Por esta razon, Choe Pyong Ryol, quien esta dispuesto a sacrificar todo lo suyo para los yanquis, pronuncio palabras repugnantes para amenazar a las autoridades surcoreanas, que expresan discordancias en relacion con el traslado de la base militar norteamericana de Ryongsan, y para defender de todas maneras el honor y los intereses de su amo.
    Este disparate de Choe es igual que el acto de los "5 traidores de Ulsa (1905) que al principio del siglo pasado vendieron nuestro pais al imperialismo japones.
    Choe Pyong Ryol y sus compinches causan innumerables danos al pueblo surcoreano y toda la nacion coreana. Hay que arrancar de raices la hierba venenosa.
