Friendship Meetings with Staff Members of Chinese and Cuban Embassies

     Pyongyang, January 15 (KCNA) -- The International Department of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea separately arranged friendship meetings with staff members of the Chinese and Cuban embassies here at Pyongyang Koryo Hotel on Jan. 14 on the occasion of the New Year Juche 93 (2004). Present on invitation were Chinese Ambassador Wu Donghe and Cuban Ambassador Esteban Lobaina Romero and staff members of the embassies.
    Vice Department Directors of the WPK Central Committee Ji Jae Ryong, Kim Thae Jong, Pak Kyong Son and other officials concerned were also present there.
    Speeches were made there.
    The participants talked about the need to boost the friendly ties between the DPRK and those countries.

Rally for Dismantlement of GNP in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, January 15 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification, the Family Movement for Realizing Democracy and other organizations affiliated with the Reunification Solidarity reportedly held a rally for dismantlement of the south Korean Grand National Party in Youido, Seoul, on January 10. At the rally Permanent Representative of the Reunification Solidarity O Jong Ryol, Chairman of the Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration Yun Won Tak and other speakers branded the GNP as a pro-American sycophantic treacherous political party, corrupt forces and anti-reunification forces disturbing the implementation of the June 15 joint declaration.
    They called for making 2004 a year of driving the GNP and the U.S. out of this land for the reunification of the nation.
    After the rally the participants conducted propaganda activities in Youido, Yongdungpho and other areas.

Joint New Year Editorial Studied Abroad

     Pyongyang, January 15 (KCNA) -- A joint New Year editorial of the newspapers of the Party, the army and the youth league is being studied in different countries. A joint seminar of political parties, organizations and Juche idea study groups was held in democratic Congo on January 6.
    At the seminar the national chairman of the Genuine Lumumbist Patriotic Party read out the joint editorial and explained its major content.
    The chairman of the National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea, the general secretary of the People's Rally for Socialism and other speakers said the victory and achievements made by the Korean people in building a great prosperous powerful socialist nation last year in defiance of the U.S. threat and high-handed practices are all the victory of the idea and line, faith and pluck of leader Kim Jong Il.
    They extended firm support and solidarity to the Korean people in their efforts to gain a higher goal on the three fronts of politics and ideology, anti-imperialism and military affairs and economy and science this year.
    Meanwhile, reading sessions and explanation meetings on the joint editorial were held by the Nigerian Group for the Study of Kimjongilism, the Benin-Korea Amicable Association "Long Live Kim Jong Il, Supreme Leader" and companies of Thailand between January 5 and 7.
    At the reading session the chairman of the Nigerian Group for the Study of Kimjongilism said that the nuclear issue between the DPRK and the U.S. should be settled in a peaceful way through dialogue as pointed out in the joint editorial.
    The chairman of the Benin-Korea Amicable Association at the explanation meeting said that this year is the tenth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung's demise. He stressed that he would set a memorial period and conduct activities for introducing andpropagating the Juche idea founded by the President and his immortal exploits.

U.S. Nuclear War Moves under Fire

     Pyongyang, January 15 (KCNA) -- The U.S. is now knee deep in secretly beefing up and improving the equipment of its forces in south Korea by massively shipping there weapons of latest types tested in actual wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, notes Rodong Sinmun in a commentary today. The news analyst goes on:
    The ill-boding military move of the U.S. irrefutably proves that it is hastening preparations under a scrupulous plan for a nuclear war to stifle the DPRK by strength behind the curtain of "negotiated settlement of the nuclear issue." This conflicts at every point with the will of the DPRK for peace and its sincere efforts for a negotiated settlement of the nuclear issue between the DPRK and the U.S. and is a grave challenge to peace and reunification on the Korean peninsula. This is a clear proof that the U.S. intention to ignite the second war of aggression on this land has reached a grave practical stage.
    It is not a hypothesis but reality that the U.S., intensifying moves of military aggression with massive shipment of ultra-modern weapons into south Korea, might venture a preemptive strike at the DPRK, encouraged by its "battle gains" in Afghanistan and Iraq, hating the latter as a thorn in its flesh.
    It would be the height of folly if the U.S. thought that it could bring the army and people of the DPRK to its knees by military threat and invasion as it did in other countries and regions. The DPRK will as ever react to the U.S. "doctrine of strength" with toughest action in order to defend the country's sovereignty and right to existence and peace and security on the Korean peninsula.
    The U.S. should not act rashly in the grip of illusion but drop its hostile policy toward the DPRK, stop arms buildup for aggression and withdraw from south Korea all its aggression forces without delay.
    All the Koreans will fight the U.S. in unity, not tolerating its attempts to impose a nuclear holocaust upon them and thus demonstrate their true merit to the aggressors and defend peace of the country and security of the nation.

Papers Call for Countering U.S. "Logic of Strength" with Strength

     Pyongyang, January 15 (KCNA) -- The U.S. asserted what happened in some countries including Iraq would give a lesson to someone and went to the lengths of urging other countries to follow their "example." In this regard papers here today in signed articles say that it is the only way of protecting the sovereignty and dignity of each country and nation and global peace under the present situation to counter the U.S. "logic of strength" with strength.
    Rodong Sinmun observes:
    It is an urgent and important task and vital demand common to humankind that values independence and peace to frustrate the U.S. "logic of strength".
    What merits a special attention in the U.S. "logic of strength" is that the U.S. is working hard to realize its ambition to dominate the world through nuclear blackmail and nuclear war, taking advantage of the absence of any rival that can challenge it in the arms race and nuclear arms buildup.

Friendship Meeting at Russian Embassy

     Pyongyang, January 15 (KCNA) -- Andrei Karlov, Russian ambassador to the DPRK, arranged a friendship meeting at his embassy here on Jan. 14 on the occasion of the New Year Juche 93 (2004). Present on invitation were Minister of People's Security Choe Ryong Su, Lieutenant Generals Ri Yong Il and So Chun Bong and other generals and officers of the ministry.
    Staff members of the embassy were present.
    The participants in the meeting looked round photographs showing immortal exploits performed by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il in boosting the DPRK-Russia friendship.
    Then they appreciated a DPRK documentary film showing Kim Jong Il receiving a message of greetings and a gift presented by Russian President V.V. Putin.
    Speeches were made there.
    They deepened friendly feelings, stressing the need to boost the friendly and cooperative relations between the DPRK and Russia which are growing stronger under the deep care of Kim Jong Il and V. V. Putin.

Unquenchable Trend for Reunification Movement

     Pyongyang, January 15 (KCNA) -- It is the will of the entire Korean nation to achieve the peace and reunification of the countrythrough national cooperation. No force can hold in check this irresistible aspiration of the nation. Many remarkable events have taken place on the Korean peninsula since the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, a milestone forreunification, was published in 2000. Among them are the August 15 National Rally for Peace and Reunification, pro-reunificationrallies of people of different social strata and the reconnection of railway lines and roads on the east and west coasts of Korea.
    Cooperation and exchange between the north and the south have been carried on without interruption despite the interference of outside forces and anti-reunification acts of the flunkeys and traitors.
    The atmosphere of confrontation, antagonism and distrust has been removed and the movement for independence and reunification has reached a new stage of development. It owes to the concerted efforts of the entire nation under the idea "by our nation itself".
    Nevertheless, the U.S. imperialists have committed all manner of misdeed to arrest the favorably developing reconciliation of the Korean nation and its reunification movement.
    They are pushing ahead with aggression designs including "operation plan 5030," an anti-north nuclear war scenario, in full earnest, while instigating the pro-U.S., ultra-right conservatives of south Korea to obstruct the development of the inter-Korean relations.

Kim Jong Il Inspects KPA Unit

     Pyongyang, January 15 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers'Party of Korea and chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, inspected KPA Unit 943. After being briefed on the history of the unit, he dropped in at the operation command room to hear a report about the unit's performance of duty from its commander.
    He set forth important tasks which would serve as guidelines in increasing the unit's combat capability in every way, greatly pleased to learn that all the officers and men of the unit are performing their guard duties in a responsible manner with high vigilance and they have fully prepared themselves as a-match-for-a-hundred fighters who have acquired high combat technique and capability by thoroughly implementing the WPK's training-first policy.
    Then he took warm care of the servicepersons' living, looking round servicemen's hall, education room, bedroom, mess, washroom,subsidiary food store, outdoor resting place and other places of the unit and seeing the calligraphy works created by soldiers.
    He moved on to a kitchen where he saw a variety of food prepared by an officer of the unit and his wife for soldiers and praised them for their sincerity towards them.
    Noting that "a day for soldiers" is observed at all units as a widespread movement, he added this is a trait which can be noticed in the KPA only which has achieved perfect unity between officers and men and between superiors and inferiors based on revolutionary comradeship.
    He had a photo session with servicepersons of the unit.
    He was accompanied by KPA Generals Ri Myong Su, Hyon Chol Hae and Pak Jae Gyong and Ri Yong Chol, first vice department director of the WPK Central Committee.

     Pyongyang, 15 de enero (ATCC) -- El Dirigente Kim Jong Il, Secretario General del Partido del Trabajo de Corea, Presidente del Comite de Defensa Nacional de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea y Comandante Supremo del Ejercito Popular de Corea inspecciono la Unidad No. 4428 del EPC. Le acogieron sobre el terreno los comandantes de la Unidad.
    Tras recibir el parte de recibimiento, el Comandante Supremo se entero de los detalles del estado de cumplimiento del deber de la Unidad.
    Se mostro muy satisfecho de que los militares de la Unidad, a traves de los incesantes ejercicios combativos y politicos, se armaron firmemente con los metodos de combates militares autoctonos del PTC y defienden fidedignamente la linea de defensa de la patria con el noble sentimiento patriotico de salvaguardar firmemente con las fuerzas armadas la patria socialista y presento las tareas programaticas que sirven de guia en la labor para reforzar la combatividad de la Unidad.
    El Comandante Supremo recorrio la Casa de Militares, la sala de educacion, el dormitorio, el comedor, el bano, el deposito diario y otros lugares para prodigar profunda atencion a la labor y la vida de los militares.
    Se mostro muy regocijado de que la Unidad, al materializar estrictamente el metodo de administracion de la unidad al estilo de la Guerrilla Antijaponesa, llego a disponer de instalaciones de cultura, educacion e intendencia, en particular, los comandantes de la Unidad atienden cordialmente como a sus consanguineos a los soldados, y los elogio altamente por sus esfuerzos. Luego de enterarse de la produccion para autoconsumo de la Unidad senalo la necesidad de esmerar la organizacion de esta labor conforme a las condiciones zonales para asegurar la vida alimentaria mas abundante a los militares e indico en detalle los medios para el particular.
    Al senalar que la preparacion de las excelentes condiciones de vida para los soldados es una labor importante para fortalecer la combatividad, subrayo la necesidad de que los miembros de mando presten siempre profunda atencion a la labor de abastecimiento. Al expresar gran esperanza de que en el futuro tambien los militares de la Unidad realicen grandes hazanas en los puestos de defensa de la patria, les dio como recuerdo binoculos, ametralladora y fusil automatico y se fotografio junto a ellos.

Maniobras de provocacion de guerra nuclear de EE.UU. en etapa temeraria

     Pyongyang, 15 de enero (ATCC) -- El periodico Rodong Sinmun inserto el dia 15 un comentario individual condenando a EE.UU. que en estos dias se entrega a aumentar y renovar en secreto los armamentos de sus tropas ocupantes del Sur de Corea introduciendo en gran medida en esta parte las armas de punta que fueron probadas en las guerras de agresion a Irak y Afganistan. El comentario senala:
    Estos movimientos militares insolitos demuestran fehacientemente que ese pais americano acelera de manera planificada los preparativos de guerra nuclear para aplastar con la fuerza la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea detras de la cortina de la "solucion del problema nuclear mediante las negociaciones".
    Indudablemente, esto es un acto que contraviene enteramente a la voluntad pacifica y los esfuerzos sinceros de la RPDC dispuesta a solucionar el problema nuclear con EE.UU. mediante el dialogo y un desafio grave a la paz y la reunificacion de la Peninsula Coreana y demuestra claramente que el intento de EE.UU. de provocar de todas maneras en esta tierra la segunda guerra de agresion llega a la grave etapa practica.
    EE.UU., inspirado por los "exitos en las guerras" de Afganistan e Irak, puede dar primer golpe a la RPDC considerandola como espina clavada en su ojo. Esto no es una hipotesis sino la realidad.
    Si EE.UU. piensa que podra doblegar con la amenaza e invasion militares al ejercito y el pueblo de Corea como en otros paises y regiones, eso es una estupidez.
    En el futuro tambien como lo hicimos hasta la fecha, responderemos siempre con sobredureza a la "teoria de la fuerza" de EE.UU. para defender la soberania y el derecho del pais a la existencia y preservar la paz y la seguridad de la Peninsula Coreana. Esta superpotencia, presa de una ilusion vana, no debe actuar temerariamente sino abandonar su politica hostil a Corea y su aumento armamentista, y retirarse de inmediato del Sur de Corea con todas sus fuerzas armadas.

Varios paises estudian editorial conjunto de periodicos de Corea

     Pyongyang, 15 de enero (ATCC) -- En varios paises estudian y divulgan el editorial conjunto de los periodicos del partido, el ejercito y la juventud publicado con motivo del Ano Nuevo 2004. En el Congo Democratico tuvo lugar el dia 6 un simposio conjunto de los partidos politicos, las entidades y las organizaciones para el estudio de la idea Juche.
    El presidente nacional del Partido Patriotico Lumumbista Autentico dio lectura al editorial conjunto y explico su contenido principal.
    El presidente del Comite Nacional para el Estudio de la Idea Juche, el Secretario General de la Reunion Popular por el Socialismo y otros oradores senalaron que el ano pasado el pueblo coreano logro una victoria y exitos en la construccion de una gran potencia socialista frustrando tajantemente la amenaza y arbitrariedades de EE.UU., lo cual se debe enteramente a la idea y el lineamiento, la confianza y la audacia del Dirigente Kim Jong Il, y expresaron firme apoyo y solidaridad con la lucha del pueblo coreano por conquistar este ano la meta mas alta en los 3 frentes: la politica y la ideologia, el antiimperialismo y los asuntos militares, la economia y la ciencia.
    Por otra parte, el Grupo de Estudio del Kimjongilismo de Nigeria, la Asociacion de Amistad "Viva el General Kim Jong Il" en Benin y varias empresas de Tailandia efectuaron entre los dias 5 y 7 cenaculos de lectura y de explicacion sobre el citado editorial conjunto.
    El jefe del Grupo de Estudio del Kimjongilismo de Nigeria, en el cenaculo de lectura, senalo que el problema nuclear entre Corea y EE.UU. se debe solucionar ciertamente por via pacifica a traves del dialogo, como senala el editorial conjunto.
    El presidente de la Asociacion de Amistad "Viva el General Kim Jong Il" en Benin, en el cenaculo de explicacion, dijo que el 2004 es el ano en que se cumplen los 10 anos desde cuando fallecio el Presidente Kim Il Sung, y preciso que ellos definiran el periodo de memoria al Presidente y desarrollaran dinamicas actividades para dar a conocer ampliamente la idea Juche creada por el Presidente y sus inmortales hazanas.
