National Seminar Held in Thailand
Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- A national seminar on the Juche idea was held in Thailand on Feb. 11 on the occasion of the birthday of leader Kim Jong Il and the 30th anniversary of the proclamation of the programme for modeling the whole society on the Juche idea.
Songchit Pullarp, chairman of the Organization for the Study of the Juche Idea of Thailand, in his report at the seminar said they were recalling with deep emotion the great exploit Kim Jong Il performed by formulating the revolutionary idea of President Kim Il Sung as an integral system of idea, theory and method of Juche on the occasion of the birthday of Kim Jong Il and the 30th anniversary of the proclamation of the programme for modeling the whole society on the Juche idea.
Noting that Kim Jong Il created the original Songun politics based on the Juche idea, thus defending the dignity of the country and the sovereignty of the nation and leading the building of a great prosperous powerful nation to victory, he said he would actively disseminate the most just and advantageous Juche idea among the Thai people and apply it to practice.
Then followed speeches titled "On the Juche idea", "The reality of Korea in which the Juche idea is embodied", "The Songun politics and the Juche idea of Korea" and "The Juche idea and the social development".
Work of Kim Jong Il Published in Russia
Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il's famous work "Respecting the Forerunners of the Revolution Is a Noble Moral Obligation of Revolutionaries" was published in pamphlet by the Paleya Publishing House of Russia on February 12.
The work, brought out on December 25, Juche 84 (1995), says that to respect the revolutionary forerunners is the demand of the revolution and the noble moral obligation of revolutionaries. The work clarifies the principled matters arising in establishing the moral traits of respecting the revolutionary predecessors and developing sound moral and obligatory relations between the people.
Passage of Amendment to Law on Foreign Exchange in Japan Condemned
Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- An enlarged extraordinary meeting of the Central Committee of the Czechoslovak Communist Party was held in Prague on February 11 as regards the passage of an "amendment to the law on foreign exchange" through the Japanese House of Representatives.
Participants in the meeting charged that Japan is posing a great danger to peace and stability in the Korean peninsula, Asia and the world by recently worsening the DPRK-Japan relations to the extreme, whose typical example is the fact that the Japanese reactionary rulers passed the amendment through the House of Representatives on January 29.
The Japanese reactionaries, they said, have been disqualified not only to have a bilateral contact with the DPRK but to participate in the six-way talks slated for the end of February owing to their reckless hostile policy toward the DPRK.
At the meeting General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Czechoslovak Communist Party Miroslav Stepan made public a statement.
He stressed in the statement that Japan's amendment is a grave infringement upon the sovereignty of the DPRK to isolate it in the international arena by taking advantage of the U.S. hostile policy toward the DRPK, a frantic violation of the international law and a vicious challenge to the DPRK-Japan Pyongyang Declaration.
He said the Czech progressive public considers that the DPRK should unconditionally prevent Japan from having any bilateral contact with it and participating in the forthcoming six-way talks.
Kim Jong Il Praised
Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- Elena Scherbakova, head of the MoiseyevState Academy Folk Dance Troupe of Russia on a visit to the DPRK, was interviewed by KCNA at Yanggakdo International Hotel on Feb. 18 before its departure from here.
Referring to her great honor of being received by leader Kim Jong Il, she said that he spared time to see the performance given by the troupe despite the pressure of his work to administer all affairs of the country.
She went on:
The troupe came to Korea with its program comprising peculiar and colorful numbers prepared with all sincerity to join the Korean people in significantly celebrating his birthday.
Kim Jong Il is known to Russia as a distinguished leader wisely leading the Workers' Party of Korea, the army and the people.
Kim Jong Il, chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, is a dear friend of the Russian people and a genius of arts.
He has always taken deep care of the troupe and bestowed great benevolence upon it each time it visited the DPRK.
We will always keep this kindness in mind.
The troupe will as ever conduct more vigorous art activities to contribute to the development of the Russia-DPRK friendship carrying with it the warm feelings of friendship of the Russian people towards the Korean people.
Measures for Ending Discrimination against Part-time Workers Urged in S. Korea
Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- The (south) Korean Confederation of Trade Unions issued a statement on Feb. 14 demanding the authorities take immediate measures for the withdrawal of the part-time work system.
In that early morning Pak Il Su, worker of Hyundai Heavy Industries Co.,Ltd., committed self-immolation after leaving behind a testament calling for the abolition of part-time work, the statement said, adding: It can not but feel pity and pain when seeing the wretched plight of the part-time workers.
His self-immolation is not a suicide but a "social murder" by company owners who are increasing the number of part-time workers in quest of their profits and forcing them to lead a sub-human life and do slave labour and by the "government" which has not taken any measure for them, merely talking about the protection of part-time job.
For the "government" and company owners to leave the part-time job as it is is a grave criminal act as it is aimed to hurt the humanity of workers and worsen the social inequality and widen the gap between the rich and the poor.
The confederation will not overlook the incident but create an organization to take measures and fight till the day the part-time workers are able to lead a life as human beings.
Immediate Dissolution of GNP Urged
Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- The South Korean Federation of UniversityStudent Councils on Feb. 12 reportedly issued a statement titled "Dissolve the Grand National Party Protecting Scandals and Taking Money by Truck".
Recalling that the "motion on releasing" So Chong Won, former representative of the GNP, was railroaded through the "National Assembly" at its plenary session on Feb. 9 by unsigned secret vote and So, kingpin of corruption, was "greeted" by "assemblymen from the GNP" upon his release, it said:
The remarks of Choe Pyong Ryol, representative of the GNP, that his party would return the illicit fund by selling the party building were clearly exposed to be a deceptive ruse and the GNP confirmed once again its true nature as a party of taking money by truck and protecting scandals.
The first way of preventing corruption is to immediately dissolve the GNP.
It should give full accounts of its irregularities and corruption and dissolve itself at once.
It called on all the people to join efforts to immediately dissolve the GNP and hold "the elections to the 17th National Assembly without it" for a clean policy, a new policy.
National Seminar in Nigeria
Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- A national seminar on the subject "the Sunof the 21st century" was held in Abuja, Nigeria, on Feb. 10 on the occasion of the February holiday.
The chairman of the Nigerian National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea in his report said leader Kim Jong Il is a genius of ideology and theory and distinguished statesman and practician who has comprehensively developed and enriched the Juche idea founded by President Kim Il Sung, adding Kim Jong Il's extraordinary political ability is displayed these days with added clarity.
He went on:
In the days of grim tests when other countries would have collapsed tens of times Kim Jong Il pursued the Songun policy to firmly defend the sovereignty of the country and socialism. This policy is a great driving force that helped bring unimaginable brilliant successes in the cause of the country's reunification and in foreign policy.
The secretary general of the committee in his speech said in the DPRK led by Kim Jong Il all the people are leading a happy life, benefiting by free medical care and free education, with the Juche idea coming into bloom in realities. The Korean people single-heartedly united around him are carrying through their just demand despite persistent moves of the "only super power" to stifle the DPRK.
The chairman of the Nigerian Group for the Study of the Juche Philosophy in a speech expressed his resolution to deeply study and disseminate Kim Jong Il's Songun policy and the Juche idea.
A message of greetings to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the seminar.
Title of Honorary Professor Awarded to Kim Jong Il
Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- The title of honorary professor of the "Gor King - Erdene" Institute of Teachers was conferred upon leader Kim Jong Il on occasion of the his birthday.
Written on the certificate are the following words: The title of honorary professor of institute has been awarded to Marshal Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, according to a decision of the Science Council of the Institute of Teachers.
A ceremony was held at this Institute on Feb.16 on this occation.
Floral Basket to Kim Jong Il
Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) - Lansana Conte, president of the Republic of Guinea, sent a floral basket to the DPRK embassy in Conakry on Feb. 13 to congratulate leader Kim Jong Il on his birthday.
The chief of Protocol of the Presidency placed the floral basket before the portraits of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il at the embassy.
On the occasion the chief of Protocol said to most significantly celebrate the birthday of Kim Jong Il is a traditional jubilee not only of the Korean people but of the Guinean people.
I had the greatest honor of presenting the floral basket to Kim Jong Il on his birthday upon the authorization of the president, he said, and sincerely wished Kim Jong Il good health and success in the work.
Reception given by Libyan Diplomatic Envoy
Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- Secretary of the People's Bureau of the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya here Ahmed Amer Al Muakkaf hosted a reception at the Taedonggang Club for the Diplomatic Corps on Wednesday evening on the occasion of the birthday of leader Kim Jong Il and the 30th anniversary of the proclamation of the programme for modeling the whole society on the Juche Idea.
Present there were Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Su Hak, minister of Public Health, Ryom Sun Gil, chairman of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea and officials concerned.

Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il received gifts from Kenichi Ogami, secretary general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea, and a delegation of the Japanese Society for the Study of Kimilsungism on the occasion of his birthday.
The gifts were separately handed to an official concerned by Kenichi Ogami and Masaharu Ueki, secretary general of the Japanese society who is leading the visiting delegation.

Israel Urged to Stop Construction of "Security Barrier"
Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry gave the following answer to a question put by KCNA on Feb. 19 as regards Israel's illegal construction of a "security barrier" in the self-governing area of Palestine:
Israel's large-scale construction of the "security barrier" in the self-governing area of Palestine presents itself as a serious issue in dispute between Arab countries and Israel, causing concern not only among countries in the region but the rest of the world. It is referred even to the International Court of Justice.
The construction of the barrier pushed forward by Israel under the pretext of "combating terrorism" defying international law is an illegal act of intruding into the Palestinian area and seriously violating Palestinians' right to existence.
The DPRK supports the initiative of Palestine and other Arab countries to bring this issue for discussion at the International Court of Justice and demands Israel immediately stop the illegal construction of the barrier.

Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- February 19 is the 30th anniversary of the proclamation of the programme of modeling the whole party and society on the Juche idea in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

National Seminar Held
Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- A national seminar the Juche idea was held at the People's Palace of Culture today to mark the 30th anniversary of the proclamation of the programme for modeling the whole society on the Juche idea.
Present at the seminar were Choe Thae Bok and Jong Ha Chol, secretaries of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, and other officials.

"New Operation Plan 5026" under Fire
Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- Spokesmen for working people's organizations of the DPRK today issued statements denouncing the United States for working out the "New Operation Plan 5026" and entering into the stage of its practice.
A spokesman for the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea dismissed the plan newly drawn out by the U.S. imperialists as an adventurous and dangerous plan for a nuclear war which is aimed to take surprise and preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK by the U.S. troops stationed in south Korea and the armed forces around the Korean peninsula at any time.
He branded the war moves of the U.S. behaving without discretion to attack the DPRK behind the curtain of the six-way talks while talking about "dialogue" and "peaceful settlement" of the nuclear issue on the Korean peninsula as a vicious challenge to the patient efforts of the DPRK for peace and an unpardonable crime of trampling down upon the will and desire of the peace-loving people of the world.

A spokesman for the Central Committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea said that the reality vividly shows that there is no change in the Bush administration's policy for aggression against the DPRK and that its loudmouthed "negotiation" is nothing but a camouflage for aggression and war. Rusia: obra de Kim Jong Il en folleto
Pyongyang, 19 de febrero (ATCC) -- La editorial Paleya de Rusia dio a luz el dia 12 en folleto la obra clasica del Dirigente Kim Jong Il "Tratar con respeto a los precursores de la revolucion es un sublime deber moral de los revolucionarios", publicada el 25 de diciembre del 84 (1995) de la Era juche.
La obra aclara que tratar con respeto a los precursores de la revolucion es una demanda de la revolucion y un sublime deber moral de los revolucionarios y dilucida los problemas de principios que se presentan para el establecimiento de un ambiente moral de tratar con respeto a los precursores de la revolucion y para el desarrollo de las relaciones de noble obligacion moral entre los miembros de la sociedad.
Rodong Sinmun llama a enarbolar la bandera de la idea Juche
