KCNA Blasts Japan for Its Abduction of Koreans

     Pyongyang, February 22 (KCNA) -- Japan is talking much about the "abduction" by someone in a bid to mislead the international community with the second round of six-way talks at hand. Its loudmouthed "abduction" is a crafty trick pertaining to Japan to lay an artificial stumbling block in the way of the talks and cover up its true colors as the kingpin of abduction.
    In the past century Japan committed such an extra-large crime against humanity as abducting and forcibly drafting at least 8.4 million Koreans. It has not yet reflected on its past crimes. Of late it went to the lengths of abducting at least 20 DPRK citizens in the Korea-China border area to take them to Japan.
    Worse still, the "fund for the relief of north Korean refugees" which is to blame for the abduction is trying to justify its criminal abduction as a "humanitarian aid" as it has become a controversy.
    The allegation that the crime contrary to international law and the DPRK laws is "humanitarian aid" is a burglary logic that cannot go down with anyone and it cannot but be a target of denunciation by the international community.
    What is serious is the fact that formal officials of the Japanese government are actively defending the crime of the fund by asserting that it is the duty of the government to protect the victims to the abduction and promote their safety.
    While talking much about the already settled issue of the abduction year after year, Japan is keeping mum about its own abduction. This shows what an extent its moral vulgarity and shamelessness have gone to.
    Japan is not in a position to slander the DPRK over the issue of abduction.
    Japan has detained five persons who went to Japan for a hometown visit in violation of the promise made between the governments of the DPRK and Japan.
    It itself should be called into question as it is an abduction.
    Japan's abduction is, in the final analysis, a government-sponsored one, which is a complete perfidy to the DPRK-Japan Pyongyang Declaration.
    Japan should ponder over the consequences entailed by the reckless abduction and send the DPRK citizens back at once.

Peasants' Rally Held in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, February 22 (KCNA) -- The "National Peasants' Solidarity" sponsored a rally of peasants from across south Korea in Seoul on February 16 to check the ratification of the free trade agreement at the "National Assembly". The rally was held in front of the building of the "National Assembly" and attended by at least 1,400 peasants. The speakers at the rally charged that the government and the political camp are driving 4 million peasants to death.
    Stating that the conclusion of the free trade agreement precisely means the collapse of the Korean agriculture, they declared that they would fight against the authorities forcing the sacrifice upon the peasants.
    That day, the peasants, enraged at the news that a "motion on ratification of the free trade agreement" was passed through the "National Assembly," formed a demonstrators' column and tried to enter the building of the "National Assembly," shouting that the struggle has not been ended.
    When the security authorities called combat police out to suppress them, the peasants battled the police, shouting the slogan "Let's advance into the building of the corrupt National Assembly."
    Then the participants gathered again to declare that the passage of the motion on ratification of the free trade agreement through the "National Assembly" is null and void and warned that they would wage a campaign to vote down those "assemblymen" who approved the motion in the "general election."

Hanchongryon Issues Statement against Troop Dispatch

     Pyongyang, February 22 (KCNA) -- Paek Jong Ho, chairman of the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon), was reported to have issued a statement titled "Those who sold out the nation will be made to pay for it" on February 13. February 13 will be recorded in the history of the nation as a day of disgrace, the statement said, branding those "national assemblymen" who approved the motion on the troop dispatch to Iraq to meet the U.S. demand as flunkeys who were steeped in pro-Yankeeism to the marrow of their bone.
    Troop dispatch to the war of aggression and increased cooperation with the U.S. in its war would escalate the war crisis on this land, the statement noted, saying that Hanchongryon calls upon all the south Koreans to wage a more vigorous struggle against the troop dispatch to redeem the nation's disgrace and protect the well-being of the nation.
    Hanchongryon will never forget the national humiliation but certainly force "national assemblymen" who caused it to pay a very high price for it, the statement warned.

Japan Urged to Renounce Hostile Policy toward DPRK

     Pyongyang, February 22 (KCNA) -- 11 Mexican political parties and organisations including the Popular Socialist Party on February 13 issued a joint statement to urge the Japanese government to immediately withdraw the "amendment to the law on foreign exchange," make an apology and compensation to the Korean people for the crimes committed by Japan in the past and give up its hostile policy toward the DPRK. The statement said that the passage of the amendment through the lower house of the Diet on January 29 is an all-out challenge to the DPRK and it is no more than hysterics of those bereft of reason.
    The organisations for friendship with the Korean people in Mexico and Mexican political parties express full support for the struggle of the Korean people against Japan's moves to intensify the hostile policy toward the DPRK, it said.
    It expressed the conviction that the Korean people will win a new victory in their efforts to protect the sovereignty and dignity of the country in the face of the nuclear threat on the part of the U.S. and countries following it.

S. Korean Security Authorities' Inhuman Suppression under Fire

     Pyongyang, February 22 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification (Pomchonghakryon) reportedly issued a statement on Feb. 18 denouncing the south Korean security authorities' inhuman crackdown upon a group of south Korean students congratulating Yun Ki Jin, chairman of the south headquarters of Pomchonghakryon, and Hwang Son, spokeswoman for the Solidarity of Youth and Students for the Implementation of the June 15 South-North Joint Declaration, on their wedding ceremony at Duksung Women's University on February 15. The inhuman crackdown left many wounded. Yun has been on the wanted list for six years on the charge of the violation of the "Security Law" and Hwang has already received a police summon.
    The statement dismissed it as a never-to-be-condoned act for riot police to enter a wedding place.
    Tears shed by Yun and Hwang today will help other Koreans harden their will to fight for a reunified country, the statement said, calling for abolishing the SL standing in the way of national cooperation and withdrawing the label of "enemy-benefiting" from Pomchonghakryon.

Japanese Imperialists Hit for Fabricating "Korea-Japan Protocol"

     Pyongyang, February 22 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today runs a signed article one hundred years after the Japanese imperialists fabricated a brigandish "Korea-Japan protocol" on February 23, 1904 in a bid to realize their military occupation and rule over Korea. The article describes the protocol as a product of the pressure of the Japanese imperialists.
    It cites detailed materials to prove that the protocol was a product of the violence, pressure and threat on the part of the Japanese imperialists.
    The protocol was a criminal document of aggression that provided a "legal guarantee" for the military occupation of Korea under the signboard of "protection," it says, and goes on:
    The Japanese imperialists secured a springboard to make Korea their virtual colony through the brigandish protocol.
    They, basing themselves on it, rigged up "Five-Point Treaty of 1905" and fabricated "Korea-Japan Annexation Treaty" in 1910 to annex the territory of Korea.
    Shunning the historical facts, the Japanese government is insisting on the "lawfulness" of those treaties.
    Worse still, the right-wing reactionary forces of Japan assert that Korea-Japan annexation was chosen by Koreans and Japan agreed with various countries of the world.
    From the beginning of the year the Japanese chief executive visited the "Yasukuni Shrine" and insisted on the dominium over Tok Islet, betraying the militaristic ambition for reconquest.
    The Japanese reactionaries are seriously mistaken, however.

    The Japanese reactionaries should put an immediate halt to the shameless distortion of history and honestly apologize and thoroughly compensate to the Korean people for their past crimes.

Pak Pong Ju Meets Delegation of European Parliamentary Assembly

     Pyongyang, February 22 (KCNA) -- Pak Pong Ju, premier of the DPRK Cabinet, met and had a conversation with a delegation of members of the European Parliamentary Assembly from political parties led by Jacques Santer, former president of the European Commission, at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on Sunday.

Work of Kim Jong Il Published in Cuba

     Pyongyang, February 21 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il's work "Socialism Is a Science" was published in pamphlet by the Gecit Publishing House of Cuba on Feb.12. This work, published on November 1, Juche 83 (1994),clarifies that Korean-style socialism based on the socialist theory of Juche is most scientific and viable socialism and clearly explains principled matters arising in defending socialism.

Japan's Revision of "Law on Foreign Exchange" Rebuffed

     Tokyo, February 19 (KNS-KCNA) -- Un Jong In, secretary general of the Association of Young Korean Workers in Commerce in Japan in a statement dismissed the "amendment to the law on foreign exchange" railroaded through the Japanese Diet as an unpardonable challenge to the DPRK and an infringement upon the human rights of the Koreans in Japan. Japan's revised "law on foreign exchange" is an inhuman act of preventing the Koreans in Japan from getting in touch with their relatives in the homeland and threatening the lives of the compatriots engaged in trade with the DPRK, he said.
    He strongly demanded Japan improve its relations with the DPRK through dialogue, not through pressure and sanctions and the Japanese government implement the DPRK-Japan Pyongyang Declaration at an early date to establish the friendly relations with the DPRK.

U.S. Arms Buildup in S. Korea Condemned

     Pyongyang, February 21 (KCNA) -- The U.S. Group for the Study of Songun Politics sent a letter of protest to the Bush administration on January 31 as regards the U.S. shipment of military equipment into south Korea impeding the improvement of inter-Korean relations. The letter vehemently condemned the foolish moves of the Bush administration to ignite a war of aggression against the Korean people.
    The letter said that as shown by the unjustifiable U.S. war of aggression on Iraq it has become clear again that the U.S. is the very one that unleashed the Korean war in the past. The letter warned that the U.S. will sustain a defeat in Iraq as it did in the Korean war.
    The DPRK has put forward rational and realistic proposals for peaceful reunification from long ago, but the U.S. imperialists continue to turn them down in an effort to justify their military colonial domination over south Korea, the letter said, stressing: The DRPK has a legitimate right to have any weapons including nuclear deterrent force.
    The letter accused the U.S. of turning away from the just proposal of the DPRK regarding the nuclear issue and extended solidarity to the anti-U.S.,anti-Bush struggle of the National Democratic Front of South Korea and the south Korean people.

KCNA Blasts U.S. Smear Campaign against DPRK

     Pyongyang, February 21 (KCNA) -- The United States is persistently spreading a false rumor about the "transfer of nuclear technology" to the DPRK by a Pakistani scientist in a bid to make the story about Pyongyang's "enriched uranium program" sound plausible. The February 12 issue of the New York Times again carried misinformation that a Pakistani nuclear expert visited the DPRK more than 10 times at the end of the 1990s to help it in the technology of developing nuclear weapons based on enriched uranium. The story about the "enriched uranium program" much touted by the U.S. is nothing but a whopping lie. The US ultra- neo-conservatives fabricated it after having a confab for more than 10 days in the wake of U.S. presidential envoy Kelly's Pyongyang visit in October 2002.
    The story is nothing but a poor burlesque orchestrated against this backdrop.
    What matters is why the U.S. styling itself "the world's only superpower" has worked so desperately for years to paint the non-existent and unverifiable "enriched uranium program" as truth.
    Lurking behind it is an ulterior intention to make the international community believe it, scour the interior of the DPRK on the basis of legitimate mandate in a bid to disarm it just as the U.S. did in Iraq and justify its brigandish demand that Pyongyang scrap its nuclear program first at the upcoming six-way talks.
    It is a trite method of the Bush administration to fabricate false information and violate the sovereignty of independent states under that pretext. The U.S. can not exist without plot-breeding and conspiracy. It is clearly proved by the Iraqi war.
    It is by no means fortuitous that foreign news reports quoted the parties concerned as saying they have never transferred nuclear technology to the DPRK. According to the British Financial Times, the Pakistani president officially stated that Pakistan purchased missiles, not nuclear technology from the DPRK.
    The DPRK's self-reliant nuclear power industry and its nuclear deterrent force for self-defense were indigenously developed and perfected by scientists and technicians of the DPRK.
    The DPRK was compelled to change the purpose of its nuclear power industry based on graphite-moderated reactors and possess a nuclear deterrent force for self-defence with a firm determination because the U.S. nuclear threat increased as the days went by and the outbreak of a dangerous war of aggression became imminent.
    The U.S. smear campaign once again forced the army and the people of the DPRK to keenly realize what a just measure it took to build a nuclear deterrent force for self-defence by its own efforts.

Moves for Additional Troop Dispatch to Iraq under Fire

     Pyongyang, February 21 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of the Fatherland issued a statement on Feb. 20 accusing the south Korean "National Assembly" of approving the "motion on additional troop dispatch to Iraq," stirring up a great sensation at home and abroad. Driving young and middle-aged people of the same blood into a war of aggression at a time when it is publicly recognized that the Iraqi war ignited by the U.S. is an unilateral war of aggression that cannot be justified with anything is an unpardonable anti-national crime and a wanton violation of justice and peace, the statement said, adding:
    The misbehavior of the pro-U.S. sycophantic traitors of south Korea who are yielding to the U.S. demand against the people's will clearly proves that if the U.S. brings a dark cloud of war against the DPRK to hang over the Korean peninsula under the pretext of the nuclear issue, they will join it without hesitation.
    The statement called on the south Korean people from all walks of life to turn out as one in a vigorous nationwide struggle to oppose and reject the aggression, interference, strong-arm and highhanded practices of the U.S. that brings misfortune and disasters to the Korean people and resolutely frustrate the moves of the pro-U.S. sycophantic traitors for additional troop dispatch to Iraq.

Russian Embassy Officials Visit National Fine Art Exhibition

     Pyongyang, February 21 (KCNA) -- Ambassador Andrei Karlov and staff members of the Russian embassy here visited the national fine art exhibition celebrating February 16, the birthday of leader Kim Jong Il, on February 20. They looked round with deep emotion the paintings showing the immortal exploits Kim Jong Il performed in glorifying the dignity and honor of Kim Il Sung's Korea and implementing the human cause of independence with his extraordinary political ability and the features of the army and people of Korea demonstrating heroic feats in the struggle to build a great prosperous powerful nation under the Songun policy of the Workers' Party of Korea.
    The ambassador wrote in the visitor's book that through the visit he deeply felt once again the deep respect of the Korean people for Kim Jong Il.

Japan's Base Anti-DPRK Campaign Assailed

     Pyongyang, February 21 (KCNA) -- The Japanese reactionaries are escalating their anti-DPRK ruckus, talking a lot about effective sanctions and pressure upon the DPRK and its international isolation. Japan's call for "sanctions" and "pressure" under the absurd pretext will only disclose before the world its moral vulgarity and despicable true nature. Rodong Sinmun says this in a signed commentary today.
    It goes on:
    Recently Japan adopted it as its state policy to apply sanctions against the DPRK by passing the amendment to the law on foreign exchange through its Diet, a law which provides for unilaterally applying sanctions against the DPRK without any UN resolution or international agreement. This is a reckless anti-DPRK hostile act intended to lead the DPRK-Japan relations of hostility and confrontation to the extreme pitch of tension. The Japanese reactionaries should know that if they brandish the old stick of "sanctions" and "pressure" put in their hands by the U.S., toeing its line, it will entail serious consequences.
    Japan still remains the sworn enemy of the Korean people. The Japanese reactionaries' increased frenzy will only add to its crimes. This would be little short of putting Japan's security in jeopardy of their own accord.
    Japan is greatly mistaken if it calculates it can wrest something from the DPRK by escalating sanctions and pressure upon it with the six-way talks at hand.
    The Japanese reactionaries should behave with reason, not forgetting the saying as you sow, so shall you reap.

Korean Players Give Good Account of Themselves at 10th ASC

     Pyongyang, February 21 (KCNA) -- Korean players gave a good account of themselves at the 10th Asian Shooting Championships held in Malaysia from February 10 to 18. Merited sportsman Kim Hyon Ung gained a gold medal with 667 points in the men's individual event of 50m pistol shooting, People's sportsman Kim Jong Su with 684 points in men's individual event of 10m air pistol shooting and Kang Un Byol with 575 points in women's individual event of 25m sports pistol shooting (junior).
    And Ri Hyang Sun came first in women's individual event of 10m air pistol shooting (junior), Kim Su Ok in women's individual event of 50m rifle 60-bullet prone shooting (junior) and Kim Kwang Hyok in men's individual event of 10m air rifle shooting (junior).
    The Korean shooters fetched a total of 6 gold medals at the championships.

Foreigners Visit DPRK Embassies

     Pyongyang, February 21 (KCNA) -- Prominent figures of different countries paid congratulatory visits to the DPRK embassies in their countries on the occasion of February 16, the birthday of leader Kim Jong Il. High-ranking officials of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea including its secretary general paid a congratulatory visit to the DPRK embassy in Malabo on Feb. 10.
    On the occasion the secretary general warmly congratulated Kim Jong Il on his birthday on behalf of President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, founder and chairman of the party, and all its party members, sincerely wishing the fraternal Korean people success in their efforts for socialist construction and peaceful reunification of the country.
    On Feb. 8 the chairman and the members of the Taekwon-do Association of Bangladesh made a congratulatory visit to the DPRK embassy in their country to present a floral basket before the large statue of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and pay tribute to them.
    On Feb. 5 the chairman of the Congolese Group for the Study of Juche Philosophy in Marien Nguabi University visited the DPRK embassy in his country to lay a floral basket before the portraits of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and pay tribute to them.

European Parliamentary Assembly Delegation Here

     Pyongyang, February 21 (KCNA) -- A delegation of members of the European Parliamentary Assembly from political parties led by Jacques Santer, who is former president of the European Commission, arrived here today.      Pyongyang, February 21 (KCNA) -- A government economic delegation of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea led by Kim Kwang Rin, chairman of the State Planning Commission, left here today to participate in the 15th meeting of the DPRK-Libya Joint Committee. CC del FDRP condena aprobacion de proyecto de envio de efectivos a Irak

     Pyongyang, 21 de febrero (ATCC) -- El vocero del Comite Central del Frente Democratico para la Reunificacion de la Patria (FDRP) publico el dia 20 una declaracion referente al hecho de que en estos dias el "proyecto de envio adicional de los efectivos a Irak" aprobado por la "Asamblea Nacional" del Sur de Corea produce gran escandalo en el pais y en el extranjero. El documento senala:
    Tal proyecto de lanzar a los jovenes y adultos como inmolacion de la guerra iraqui adoptada precisamente cuando el mundo reconoce que esta desatada por los EE.UU. fue una guerra de agresion unilateral e injustificable, constituye un intolerable acto criminal antinacional y una flagrante violacion a la justicia y la paz.
    Las fuerzas proyanquis del Sur de Corea, al nadar contra la corriente mundial antiyanqui y antibelica, cometieron, bajo el pretexto absurdo de "alianza" e "intereses nacionales", un imperdonable crimen antinacional como el de empujar a los compatriotas a la trampa cavada por los EE.UU. Hoy en dia, los EE.UU., al decir que "Irak es seguido del Norte de Corea", elaboraron el "nuevo plan de operacion 5026", nuevo guion de guerra de agresion a Corea, y se entregan con rabia a los preparativos de guerra de agresion al Norte de Corea trasladando al Sur de Corea gran numero de equipos militares de punta probados en las guerras de Irak y Afganistan,.

Grupo de EE.UU. denuncia aumento armamentista en Sur de Corea

     Pyongyang, 21 de febrero (ATCC) --En relacion con el hecho de que EE.UU., estorbando la mejora de las relaciones Norte-Sur, introduce equipos belicos en el Sur de Corea, el Grupo de Estudio de la Politica de Songun (priorizacion militar) (GEPS) de EE.UU. envio el dia 31 de enero una carta de protesta a la administracion Bush. La carta denuncia severamente las imbeciles maniobras belicas de la administracion Bush encaminadas a desatar la guerra de agresion contra el pueblo coreano.
    Como demuestra la injustificable guerra iraqui desencadenada por EE.UU., se hizo evidente que el fautor de la pasada guerra coreana es EE.UU., senala la carta y advierte que este pais sufrira la derrota tambien en la guerra iraqui, como lo habia sufrido en la guerra coreana.
    Hace mucho tiempo, la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea presento proposiciones racionales y realistas para la reunificacion pacifica.
    Pero los imperialistas norteamericanos siguen rehusandolas para justificar su dominacion colonial militar sobre el Sur de Corea, apunta la carta y subraya que la RPDC tiene el legitimo derecho a poseer armas de toda indole, en particular, la fuerza de detencion nuclear.

     Pyongyang, 21 de febrero (ATCC) -- En los ultimos dias, Estados Unidos, a fin de dar credulidad a su teoria del "plan de uranio enriquecido" de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea, divulga con teson una absurda opinion sobre la "transferencia de tecnologia nuclear" por un cientifico pakistani. El dia 12, el periodico New York Times volvio a lanzar una desinformacion de que en la decada de 1990 un cientifico nuclear de Pakistan visito en mas de 10 ocasiones la RPDC para brindar apoyo en materia de la tecnologia de desarrollo de armas nucleares por el uranio enriquecido. Esta teoria de EE.UU. no pasa de ser una grosera demagogia infundada. Es un producto de la vil conspiracion de los neoconservadores extremistas al cabo de mas de 10 dias posteriores a la visita a Corea de Kelly, enviado especial del presidente norteamericano en octubre de 2002.
    Tambien, el presente rumor de la "transferencia de la tecnologia nuclear" por el cientifico pakistani no pasa de ser una farsa armada en tal sentido.
    Entonces, ?porque EE.UU. que se autodenomina "unica superpotencia" invento tal rumor fantastico sobre el "plan de uranio enriquecido" increible e inverificable y recurre desesperadamente durante varios anos a tal juego para darle credulidad?
