Japan's Reckless Anti-DPRK Racket Assailed

     Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- The Japanese reactionaries' reckless moves to apply sanctions against the DPRK and put pressure on it only escalate their confrontation with the DPRK and drive the situation on the Korean peninsula to a grave phase. Rodong Sinmun today says this in a signed article. It goes on:
    These moves of Japan diametrically run counter to the DPRK-Japan Pyongyang Declaration in which both sides committed themselves to observe international law and stop doing anything threatening the security of the other side.
    The Japanese reactionaries are getting evermore zealous in their moves to lay an international siege to the DPRK, pursuant to the U.S. hostile policy toward it.
    The Japanese reactionaries have become more clamorous for economic sanctions at a time when the U.S. is set to stage five multinational exercises this year to lay an international siege to the DPRK. This is not just an accidental coincidence. Lurking behind the Japanese reactionaries' clamour for sanctions against the DPRK and pressure on it, is a sinister aim to fish in troubled waters, pursuant to the U.S. hostile policy toward it. It is their true intention to escalate the hostile moves against the DPRK and bring down its socialist system in line with the U.S. imperialists' policy to tighten the economic sanctions against Pyongyang and increase pressure upon it.
    The DPRK clarified more than once that it would regard any sanctions and blockade against it as a declaration of a war and would take corresponding measures for self-defence. However, the Japanese reactionaries are openly seeking to escalate sanctions and pressure against the DPRK. This can not be construed otherwise than a revelation of their deliberate and premeditated provocation intended to push the DPRK-Japan relations of confrontation to an extreme pitch of tension and launch a new war on the Korean peninsula.
    It is self-evident that if a war breaks out on the Korean peninsula it will spill over into Japan close to it.
    The Japanese reactionaries should bear in mind that they will meet inescapable consequences if they continue acting under the pulls and pressures of the U.S., their master, without any political principle and following its policy of sanctions and pressure against the DPRK.

Mongolian Organizations' Appeal Responded to in Peru

     Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- The Peruvian-Korean Institute of Culture and Friendship in a statement on March 18 fully supported the proposal of Mongolian organizations to hold a grand meeting in praise of the exploits performed by the three generals of Mt.Paektu in the area of the secret camp of Mt. Paektu in 2005 and build a monument to their greatness there. The statement noted that the institute expressed particular reverence and respect to President Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Suk,anti-Japanese war hero, and leader Kim Jong Il.
    The institute voices support and solidarity with the Songun policy of the DPRK and the June 15 North-south Joint Declaration which ensure peace, the statement added.

Anti-war Rally in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- A large anti-war rally of over 5,000 citizens and students was held in Seoul on March 20, one year after the start of the U.S. war of aggression on Iraq. Permanent representative of the National People's Solidarity Jong Kwang Hun, Chairman of the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions Ri Su Ho, Chairman of the south Korean Federation of University Student Councils Paek Jong Ho and others, addressing the rally, said that lurking behind the curtain of the additional troop dispatch to Iraq is a sinister plot of the U.S. and that the U.S. is seeking to unleash the second Iraqi war in the Korean peninsula, extremely aggravating inter-Korean showdown and tension.
    They demanded that the south Korean authorities immediately withdraw the disgraceful motion on additional troop dispatch to Iraq and all the U.S. troops go out of this land.
    A resolution read out at the rally noted that the U.S. is working hard to materialize its strategy for world supremacy under the pretext of guarantee for lives of young people in this land and that they would not stop their struggle before the plan for additional troop dispatch is cancelled.
    During the rally the People's Action against the Troop Dispatch and the preparatory committee for the Joint Action against War and for Peace conducted an all-people signature campaign against the troop dispatch to Iraq.
    After the rally the attendants staged a demonstration on march, distributing copies of literature among citizens.

Letter of Protest Sent to U.S. President

     Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- A letter of protest to the U.S. president was published on March 19 by the Khabarovsk Territorial Association of Korean Nationals in Russia denouncing the United States and the south Korean authorities for staging large-scale war maneuvers. The letter noted that the large-scale RSOI and Foal Eagle joint military exercises underway in south Korea are, to all intents and purposes, saber rattling aimed to make a preemptive nuclear strike at the DPRK.
    It continued:
    The U.S. already worked out a new nuclear war scenario titled "new operation plan 5026" and is perpetrating ceaseless aerial espionage against the northern half of Korea with strategic and tactical reconnaissance planes with different missions involved in order to put its war scenario into practice. The war maneuvers launched by it are designed to unleash a war of aggression on the Korean peninsula again.
    Should the United States ignites another Korean war, it will be held wholly responsible for its ensuing consequences, the letter warned.

U.S. Military Exercises Condemned

     Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the National Democratic Front of south Korea made public a statement on March 23,　castigating the U.S. and the south Korean bellicose elements for launching the frantic military exercises against the north,according to Kuguk Jonson Internet Site. The large-scale joint military exercises involving enormous armed forces, more than enough to undertake a war, prove that the　reckless U.S. war moves against the north have already entered a grave phase of practice, the statement said, and went on:
    　The NDFSK vehemently denounces the military exercise racket of the south Korean and U.S war hawks in the name of all the fellow　countrymen as a violent challenge to the desire and will of all the fellow countrymen and the world peace-loving people for detente　and peace in the Korean peninsula and an unpardonable criminal act negating dialogue, peace and reunification.
    　The U.S. should ponder over the consequences to be entailed by its reckless war moves against the north, immediately stop the　provocative joint military exercises and withdraw its troops, which have no justification for their presence in this land, without　delay.　
    　 The war maniacs of the military in this land should not run amuck, mindful that it is will precipitate their self-destruction to　join in the U.S. moves for a war of aggression, which will inflict nuclear holocaust upon all the fellow countrymen, swimming　against the spirit of the June 15 joint declaration.
    　The NDFSK, together with all the people who value the destiny of the country and the nation, will wage a more vigorous anti-U.S.,　anti-war struggle to resolutely foil the reckless war provocation moves of the south Korean and U.S. bellicose forces with national　cooperation under the banner of our nation-first spirit.

U.S. Sabre Rattling against DPRK Denounced

     Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- Rallies were held at the Pyongyang Thermal-Power Complex and Pyongyang College of Computer Technology yesterday to condemn the anti-DPRK war moves of the U.S. war maniacs. A statement of the spokesman for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland was read out at the rally at the complex to be followed by speeches.
    Speakers said that the RSOI and Foal Eagle joint military exercises launched by the U.S. and the south Korean warmongers are nothing but a test nuclear war and a preliminary war against the DPRK as they are aimed to make a preemptive attack on it.
    They bitterly assailed the warmongers for recklessly working to provoke a new war that would bring a horrible nuclear holocaust to the Korean nation.
    If the U.S. imperialists unleash a war of aggression at last, the Korean people will wipe out the aggressors to the last one with the invincible power built up under the banner of Songun and honorably defend the dignity and security of the nation, they stressed.
    At a rally held on the education ground of the Monument to Victory in the Fatherland Liberation War, students of Pyongyang College of Computer Technology on behalf of all the youth and students vehemently denounced the frantic nuclear war maneuvers launched by the U.S. imperialist aggressor troops as an open military provocation to deprive the students of the DPRK of their opportunity to study and quell the beautiful dream of the youth.
    Meanwhile, students of Pyongyang University of Medicine had a similar rally in front of the U.S. imperialists' armed spy ship "Pueblo" on March 24.

Japan Warned against Its Moves for Reinvasion of Korea

     Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- If Japan, oblivious of the lesson of history, launches reinvasion of Korea, toeing the line of the United States, the youth and students of Korea will courageously turn out in a sacred battle for revenge with arms reflecting the spirit of Mt. Paektu in hands and wipe out the hateful Japanese reactionaries at a single blow and thus give vent to the pent-up resentment of the Koreans. A spokesman for the Central Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League said this in a statement on March 25 40 years after the March 24 campaign against the criminal "talks" between south Korea and Japan held in south Korea under the back-stage wirepulling of the United States. The March 24 campaign was a just anti-imperialist patriotic struggle that fully demonstrated the nation's patriotic will and indomitable fighting spirit not to tolerate the Japanese militarists' moves for reinvasion and the sycophantic and treacherous forces' vicious anti-national behavior but to defend the dignity and sovereignty of the nation, he noted.
    He expressed belief that the south Korean youth and students would carry on their powerful anti-U.S. and anti-Japan resistance to foil foreign forces' moves for domination, interference, aggression and war and build a peaceful and prosperous reunified country with the same spirit and mettle as they displayed in their struggle to protect the national dignity and sovereignty 40 years ago.

Correct Settlement of Issue Related to "Comfort Women" Called for

     Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- The participants in the 600th Tokyo Wednesday demonstration for the settlement of the issue related to the "comfort women" for the imperial Japanese army sent a written request titled "We demand the earliest possible solution to the issue related to the 'comfort women'" to the prime minister and the foreign minister of Japan on March 17. The demonstration was staged in response to the call of 17 organizations of Japan including the "Peace Boat." Saying that the "comfort women" system enforced by the imperial Japanese army was a sexual slavery system based on discrimination against women and other nation as it was sponsored by the state of Japan, the written request denounced this as a violation of various international laws and crimes for which it should pay reparation.
    The fundamental principle for the settlement of the issue related to "comfort women" for the Japanese army is to restore the dignity and honor of the victims with the state responsibility and pay state reparation to them, it said, and went on:
    The assertion that the issue related to the "comfort women" came to an end despite the demand of the aged victims means causing double and treble damage to them.
    It strongly demanded the Japanese government sincerely undertake the work to relieve the victims of the state-sponsored crimes of their sufferings and take measures based on the state responsibility.

Withdrawal of "Motion on Impeachment" Demanded

     Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- A statement was issued on March 17 by the General Association of Koreans in China in protest against the passage of the "motion on impeachment against the president" through the south Korean "National Assembly". The passage of the "motion on impeachment" through the NA was a political rebellion staged by a handful of political quacks in quest of their party interests, in disregard of the will of the people, the statement noted, adding that it glaringly revealed the backwardness of south Korean politics.
    Noting that the United States is to blame for this, the statement continued:
    The U.S. manipulation of the right-wing conservative forces of south Korea to hatch a plot for "impeachment" dates back to October last year.
    We bitterly denounce such political gangsterism committed by the "Grand National Party" and conservative forces in south Korea,
    servants of the U.S., against the will of the south Korean people as railroading the illegal "motion on impeachment against the president" through the NA under the U.S. manipulation and strongly demand them immediately withdraw it.

Functions Held Abroad

     Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- A meeting, a lecture, etc. took place in Democratic Congo from March 13 to 17 on the occasion of the Day of the Sun and the 11th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's assumption of office as chairman of the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Speakers at functions said whenever they commemorate the Day of the Sun they remember the noble life of President Kim Il Sung and his immortal exploits with deep emotion, adding that the exploits he performed by founding the immortal Juche idea and indicating to humankind the most correct way of hewing out their destiny would shine long along with human history.
    The great vitality of the Songun policy of Kim Jong Il has been clearly proved by the fact that the DPRK has bravely countered the ceaseless provocation of the imperialists, they noted, and continued: His Songun policy greatly encourages the world progressives desirous of a new independent and peaceful world.

Architectural Festival in Pyongyang

     Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- The Fourth May 21 Architectural Festival, which was opened on March 23 at the People's Palace of Culture, is going on until Friday, the 50th anniversary of the Korean Union of Architects. The festival has been visited by a large number of people including local architects and foreigners.
    It, participated in by young dignified and promising architectural designers and technicians from designing institutes and scientific and educational institutions of the architectural field throughout the country, is unprecedented in scale and in the modernization level of designing.
    Presented to the festival were more than 300 drafts including "Arirang", "Cradle" and "Fragrance" and some 40 designing programs.
    The festival is divided into a prize contest of designs of dwelling houses in towns and rural communities, a prize contest of designs of town and rural districts and a contest of architectural designing programs.
    The participants in the festival have informed each other of and exchanged the achievements and experience they have gained in the efforts for implementing the architectural ideas of the Workers' Party of Korea.
    The displays will be estimated through amateurs' consideration, experts' consideration and state consideration.
    The festival is an important occasion in further developing the nation's architectural designing to meet the requirements of the new century.

Kim Jong Il Inspects KPA Unit

     Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, inspected KPA Unit 916. He was saluted on the spot by the commanding officers of the unit.
    He acquainted himself with the performance of the unit's duty.
    He dropped in at the room devoted to the unit's history, conducted by the commander of the unit. Seeing the records showing the glorious path covered by the unit, he stressed that the unit should lead all the servicepersons to uphold and glorify its fighting tradition. Going round the servicepersons' hall, a military lecture room and a political lecture room, he got familiar in detail with the study of military technology and political and ideological education among the servicepersons.
    He highly praised the successes made by the officers and men of the unit, greatly pleased to see them trained as one-match-for-a-hundred fighters capable of wiping out any formidable enemy through intensive training.
    It is very good to train all soldiers as fighters strong in ideology and faith, he said, adding that the trait of giving importance to ideology is a peculiar feature and tradition of the KPA which has won one victory after another, weathering out tempest of the revolution, with the strength of idea for the last 70 odd year.

Degree of Doctor of Linguistics Awarded to Chinese Correspondent in DPRK

     Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- Zhao Jiaming, chief correspondent of the Bureau of the Chinese People's Daily in Pyongyang, was awarded the degree of doctor of linguistics of the DPRK for having made a great contribution to the improvement of the translation level and skill by systematizing the grammatical study of the Korean-Chinese contrastive translation. An awarding ceremony was held at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on Friday. The decision of the State Commission for Conferring Degrees and Titles of the DPRK was read out and a certificate and medal for the degree of doctor of linguistics were awarded to him.

RPDC: actos de condenacion a los belicistas yanquis

     Pyongyang, 26 de marzo (ATCC) -- El Complejo Termoelectrico de Pyongyang y el Instituto Superior Tecnologico de la Cibernetica de Pyongyang efectuaron el dia 25 actos para denunciar severamente las maniobras de guerra de los belicistas estadounidenses contra la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea. En el acto del Complejo se dio lectura a la declaracion del vocero del Comite por la Reunificacion Pacifica de la Patria (CRPP) e intervinieron varias personas.
    Los oradores apuntaron que el "ejercicio combinado de refuerzo para el tiempo de guerra" y el simulacro "Aguilucho" que libran los belicistas estadounidenses y surcoreanos son una guerra de ensayo nuclear y la preliminar para dar el primer golpe a la RPDC y condenaron categoricamente tales maniobras imprudentes de los maniacos de guerra tendentes a acarrear tremenda catastrofe nuclear a la nacion coreana.
    Si los yanquis por fin desencadenan la guerra de agresion, los coreanos, al poner de pleno manifiesto el invencible poderio del Songun (priorizacion militar), aniquilaran a todos los agresores y salvaguardaran dignamente la seguridad y la dignidad de la nacion, subrayaron ellos.
