Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il's famous work "The Workers' Party of Korea Is the Party of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung" was brought out in booklet by the "Pravda-Press" Publishing House in Russia.
This work, published on October 2, Juche 84 (1995), serves as a great immortal programme for the party construction and activities as it reviewed with pride the glorious history of the WPK in which it paved a new road for building a revolutionary party in the era of independence and indicated a way of strengthening and developing the WPK to be an eternal party of President Kim Il Sung.
Anti-U.S. Struggle Called for
Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the National Democratic Front of South Korea issued a statement on May 18 in support of the joint appeal to the fellow countrymen in south Korea adopted by the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of the Fatherland and the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland, according to Internet site of Kuguk Jonson.
The appeal said that what is most outdated in south Korea is the U.S. military presence and colonial rule over south Korea, calling on all the political parties, groupings and people from all walks of life to rise up in actions to make 2005 which marks the lapse of 60 years since the U.S. occupation of south Korea as the year of forcing the U.S. troops to withdraw from south Korea and putting a definite end to its domination.
The spokesman fully supported the appeal made by the north, saying that it is arousing a lively response among the Korean people from all walks of life as it represents the desire and will of the people aspiring after the new, the trend and requirements of the times.
Recalling that the people have undergone indescribable shame, disgrace, damage and sacrifices due to the U. S. occupation and domination, he called upon all of them to turn out as one in the anti-U.S. struggle to give vent to their pent-up grudge and resentment against the U.S. and put an end to the U.S. domination and occupation of south Korea.

Anti-U.S. Cultural Function Held in S. Korea
Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) -- An anti-U.S. cultural function of youth and students was reportedly held at Chosun University in Kwangju on May 15 under the sponsorship of the Youth and Student Solidarity for the Implementation of the June 15 South-North Joint Declaration on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of the May 18 Kwangju Popular Uprising.
It was attended by at least 1,000 youth and students affiliated to the organization.
Speakers at the function said that the purport of the function was to achieve victory in the standoff with the U.S. in the wake of that in the 17th "National Assembly" election. They called on the youth and students to actively turn out in the struggle to realize national cooperation against the U.S.
The struggle to check the troop dispatch to Iraq is one to break the unequal "alliance" between south Korea and the U.S. and defend peace on the Korean peninsula, they noted, underscoring the need to focus efforts on this struggle for the present.

Appeal for Struggle to Realize National Cooperation against U.S.
Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration in south Korea reportedly made public on May 13 an appeal for struggle to realize national cooperation against the U.S. on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the publication of the June 15 joint declaration.
"Let's pave the way for independence and reunification with national cooperation!" This is the firm promise and will of our nation in 2004 marking the fourth anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration, stressed the appeal.
It called for greeting the fourth anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration with a nation-wide anti-U.S. resistance.
The entire nation should reject anti-national and anti-reunification south Korea-U.S. cooperation and realize national cooperation according to the great proposition of "by our nation itself" specified in the joint declaration, the appeal said, and pointed out:

S. Korean Organizations Demand Abolition of SL
Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) -- Student organizations of south Korea reportedly made public statements on May 14 in demand of a stop to the suppression of patriotic students and abolition of the Security Law.
The Southern Kyonggi Provincial Federation of University Student Councils in a statement said that it is a grave challenge going against the times and history to have walked away Jong Jae Uk, chairman of the 11th-term south Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon), at a time when the desire for democracy and independence is growing higher than ever before.
Jon Wi Bong, chairman of the Pusan and South Kyongsang Provincial Federation of University Student Councils, in a statement, referring to the fact that 25 deputies to Hanchongryon were arrested this year, charged that it is no more than the last desperate efforts of the conservative forces and the security authorities to restore the antiquated evil law.
The National Woman Student Representatives Council in a statement stressed that the government authorities should immediately stop the suppression of patriotic students and that youth and students would not stop their struggle before the SL, an evil law of the times, is abrogated.
The Reunification Solidarity of south Korea issued a statement on May 14 in demand of the abolition of the SL and the release of Jong Jae Uk, chairman of the 11th-term Hanchongryon.
The statement stressed that the era of reunification cannot be brought without repeal of the law inflicting only damage on many people and that the poisonous herb called the Security Law should be uprooted without fail.
Kwangju Popular Uprising Marked in S. Korea
Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) -- Functions took place in Kwangju on May 16 on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of the May 18 Popular Uprising, according to a news report.
Members of the (south) Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon), the (south) Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and the Reunification Plaza and other organizations, former unconverted long-term prisoners and citizens, at least 1,000 in all, visited the "May 18 National Cemetery" in Mangwol-dong, Kwangju to honor the memory of the victims.
Drawing the attention of the participants were literary and art pieces prepared by members of Kwangju and South Jolla Provincial Society of Writers Advocating National Literature and a 518 meter-long large poster on the theme of the May 18 uprising 24 years ago drawn by students of primary, middle and high schools.
A marathon race to inherit the spirit of May 18 also took place there under the co-sponsorship of Hangyore and MBC.
The South Headquarters of the Nationwide Special Committee for Probing the Truth behind GIs' Massacres sponsored a meeting to indict the U.S., the chieftain of the Kwangju massacre, in Kumnam Street that afternoon.
The participants in the meeting watched a video tape on which hearings in citizens' courts held in the past to try chieftains of the May 18 massacre are recorded and an indictment was read out there.
The indictment said: According to a judgment made at the May 18 Citizens' Court we will refer the U.S. to the international court to be held in Europe this fall so as to wrest an open apology and compensation from the U.S. which killed Kwangju citizens in cooperation with the military dictatorial regime and retake the sovereignty of the nation.
Then a people's rally for inheriting the spirit of the May 18 Popular Uprising on the occasion of its 24th anniversary was held with at least 2,000 people attending.
The speakers at the rally underscored the need to achieve genuine reunification by implementing the June 15 joint declaration and inheriting the spirit of the May 18 popular uprising.
At the rally Paek Jong Ho, chairman of Hanchongryon, read out a resolution which called upon all the people to turn out in a struggle to force the U.S. troops to withdraw from south Korea, bring home those units dispatched to Iraq, foil the hostile policy toward the north, realize peaceful reunification, protect the right to food, oppose economic aggression and win the people's right to existence, etc.
Diverse information service and art performances took place in different parts of Kwangju City that day. They included an exhibition of photos showing GIs' crimes, a display of literature demanding the revocation of the decision on the troop dispatch to Iraq, a meeting for sending peace postcards, a rally of city and provincial citizens, a show of a film on the theme of the May 18 uprising, an exhibition of photos on the uprising and a 2004 drama on resistance.
Friendly Meeting with Young Chinese
Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) -- A friendly meeting of officials of the Central Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League and members of a delegation of Chinese youth officials was held at the Central Youth Hall Wednesday.
Present at the meeting were Secretary Kil Chol Hyok and other officials of the Central Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League and members of the Chinese delegation led by Erkanjiang Tulahong, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China.
Speeches were followed by a performance of stage pieces by the Central Youth Art Propaganda Team.
The participants informed each other of the activities of their organizations, exchanged their successes and experiences and chatted about the need to strengthen ties between the youth organizations of the two countries, deepening sentiments of friendship.
Rodong Sinmun on Pullout of U.S. Forces from South Korea
Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) -- The U.S. imperialists' policy of dominating south Korea must be terminated and the occupation forces be withdrawn from there if things old are to be removed from there and the desire of the people for a new policy, a new system and a new life is to come to reality, says Rodong Sinmun in a signed article today.

The occupation of south Korea by the U.S. forces for nearly 60 years has been a history of aggression in which south Korea has been tightly bound in bondage to the U.S. The U.S. has used its forces present in south Korea as a means of keeping that area totally dependent on it, standing against the DPRK, blocking the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea and holding in leash the independent development of the Asian people.
South Korean society has become more dependent and human rights and democracy have been wantonly violated by the U.S. military bases and the U.S. imperialist aggression troops present there.
All and sundry operational plans of the U.S. imperialists who make the second Korean war a fait accompli are criminal designs to carry into practice their aggression on the DPRK at any cost by relying on their military bases and aggression troops in south Korea.
The historic June 15 joint declaration put an end to the inter-Korean relations marred by antagonism and confrontation and opened a new chapter of national cooperation. The U.S. imperialists, displeased with the joint declaration itself, have tried by hood or by crook to throw high hurdles in the way of its implementation.
Their policy of dominating south Korea by force of arms is denounced by all the Koreans as it is an anachronistic criminal policy against history and the Korean nation.

GIs Crimes in South Korea under Fire

Artificial Intelligence Program Developed
Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) -- The Academy of Koryo Medical Science of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has developed an artificial intelligence computer program "Koryo Medicine". It has been introduced to clinical practice.
The program helps cure such incurable and chronic diseases as diabetes, impotence, chronic bronchial asthma, hypertension, liver cirrhosis and hematologic disorders. The accuracy of diagnosis by the program and the rate of treatment according to it are very high.
It supports diagnosis and treatment with tongue diagnosis, automatic analysis of pulsation, prescriptions of Koryo medicine, acupuncture and moxibustion and acupuncture time and survey of treatment efficacy organically combined with each other.
Different from previous diagnosis programs, it classifies those suffering from the same disease according to their constitution and cause of disease.
Anybody can use it if he or she has a common medical knowledge because it is convenient for use.
The "Koryo Medicine" program has divided experience and theories made in the field of Koryo medicine into 27,000-odd principles.
U.S. Should Wake from Foolish Dream
Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) -- The Bush administration is resorting to a hectic tongue-wagging, using a profusion of words about "an earliest possible resumption of the six-party talks" and "fruitful talks" as if it were concerned about the settlement of the DPRK-U.S. nuclear issue through dialogue.

The United States did not have the least intention to solve the nuclear issue through dialogue from the beginning. Its noisy talk about "dialogue for a solution to the nuclear issue" is intended to create a favorable condition for the realization of its invariable design to stifle the DPRK.
This malicious design of the U.S. is not confined to the nuclear issue. All the U.S. campaigns against the DPRK over the "missile issue," "human rights issue" and so on are an open manifestation of its premeditated and intentional acts to isolate and stifle the DPRK.
