Orders, Medals and Certificates of Honorary Titles Awarded to Kim Jong Il on Display

     Pyongyang, June 21 (KCNA) -- The orders, medals and certificates of honorary titles leader Kim Jong Il received from different countries and international organizations have been comprehensively displayed at the International Friendship Exhibition on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of his start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. On display at the International Friendship Exhibition in a chronological order are nearly 400 orders, medals and certificates of honorary titles awarded to him by political parties, states, governments, parliaments, establishments, organizations and international organizations in the last more than two decades since the 1980s.
    Exhibited there are orders, medals and academic degrees, certificates of honorary titles and medals of various fields including philosophy, politics, sociology, economics and pedagogy conferred upon him by many countries, regions and international organizations in high recognition of his outstanding political qualification and extraordinary leadership ability in the 1980s.
    Orders, medals and certificates of honorary titles awarded to him include certificates of honorary leaders and honorary chairmen conferred upon him by different political parties with boundless reverence and absolute trust in him who has defended the destiny of socialism with his great Songun politics.
    "Kiettikhoun Order" of Laos, "Order of Great Cross" of Niger, "Republic Order of Necklace" of Egypt, "Great Order of Independence" of Equatorial Guinea, "Order of Democracy" of Colombia and other highest orders awarded to him by different countries clearly prove his high international prestige and noble personality as a great man.
    Also displayed there are orders, medals and certificates of honorary titles awarded to him on more than 50 occasions in celebration of his birthday in February, the significant international holiday common to humankind. They include "Gold Star Order of Peace" of Mongolia, Marshal Zhukov Medal of Russia, certificate of honorary leader of the People's Party of Costa Rica, certificate of honorary citizen of Kampala City of Uganda, certificates of honorary academician and doctor of the International IT Academy and certificate and medal of honorary professor of Chiclayo University of Peru Also seen there are certificate of "Special Guest," the highest title of Cavdare City of Lara State of Venezuela, awarded to him though it is the practice to present it only to prominent figures who personally visited the city, and the medal and certificate of the Moscow Committee of War Veterans conferred upon him for the first time since its institution.
    Among the exhibits are the Russian medal "The 50th anniversary of the victory in the great Patriotic War (1941-1945)," the Portuguese medal marking the 500th anniversary of the discovery of the continent, the medal commemorating the 125th anniversary of the International Telecommunication Union, certificates of honorary citizens and honorary guests of honor awarded to him by famous cities of different countries, certificates of honorary academicians, professors and doctors presented to him by scores of well-known universities and scientific research institutions. They reflect the desire of the world progressives to hand down his exploits forever together with their commemoration days.

40th Anniversary of Kim Jong Il's Start of Work Observed Abroad

     Pyongyang, June 21 (KCNA) -- Celebration meetings, round-table talks and explanation meetings were held by the Revolutionary Socialist Party of Peru, the Revolutionary Communist Party of Britain (Marxist-Leninist) and the Socialist Unionist Party of Syria, in Rome of Italy, Basel of Switzerland and at a company of Indonesia from June 11 to 13 on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK). The general secretary of the Revolutionary Socialist Party of Peru and other Peruvian political party leaders in their speeches at a meeting said the WPK could be strengthened into a powerful and dignified invincible party entirely thanks to the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il and, under his Songun policy, the Korean People's Army and people with their united strength were bravely countering the U.S. styling itself the "only superpower" in the world.
    The president of the Group of Dialectical Materialists of Italy said at a meeting that the socialist cause and the cause of Korea's reunification pioneered by President Kim Il Sung were being successfully carried forward by Kim Jong Il with his clairvoyance and iron will.
    The general secretary of the Socialist Unionist Party of Syria in his speech at a round-table talk stressed that under Kim Jong Il's leadership the WPK and the Korean people were advancing today in the van of the anti-imperialist struggle, adhering to the steadfast principle and brave stand against the U.S. arbitrariness and vicious maneuvers of aggression.
    Congratulatory messages and letters to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the meetings.

Kim Jong Il's Work Published in Romania

     Pyongyang, June 21 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il's famous work "On Some Questions in Understanding The Juche Philosophy" was published in booklet by the Datina Publishing House of Romania on June 16. The work, brought out on April 2, Juche 63 (1974), gives comprehensive answers to theoretical and practical questions arising in developing the Juche philosophy including the fundamental characteristics of the Juche philosophy, the Juche-based outlook on man, the Juche-based view of the world and scientific understanding of independence.
    Written in the preface of the booklet are the words: "The Juche idea will be everlasting with the august name of its founder President Kim Il Sung by the outstanding ideological and theoretical activities of His Excellency Kim Jong Il, the great leader of the Korean people."

Federations under KCTU Call Strike

     Pyongyang, June 21 (KCNA) -- The Democratic Taxi Federation and the Federation of Metal Industry Trade Unions under the (south) Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) respectively called strikes on June 16, according to MBC of south Korea. The organizations demanded improvement of the taxi operation system, labor-management agreement when coordinating the structure, guarantee of the minimum wages, etc.
    Meanwhile, the KCTU declared June 16 day of the first all-out action and held large-scale meetings in Seoul and other major cities across south Korea.

Korean People's Struggle for Reunification Supported

     Pyongyang, June 21 (KCNA) -- J. K. Patel, director of the Indian Institute for the Foreign Policy, made public a statement on June 13 on the occasion of the 4th anniversary of the publication of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration. We express support to and solidarity with the Korean people in their struggle to achieve the independent reunification of the country, he stated.
    Noting that the June 15 joint declaration carries the steadfast will of leader Kim Jong Il to reunify the country as President Kim Il Sung, wished, he said dramatic developments have been witnessed in the movement for the reunification of Korea under the independent and all-embracing policy of Kim Jong Il and under his distinguished leadership.
    He went on:
    The June 15 joint declaration is a historic document which displayed all over the world the will of the Korean nation to solve the issue of reunification independently.
    However, the U.S. administration which dislikes the unity and reunification of the Korean nation is disturbing the implementation of the joint declaration, clinging to its hostile policy towards the DPRK.
    No force on earth can block the vigorous advance of the Korean nation to achieve the independent reunification under the banner of the historic June 15 joint declaration and the cause of Korea's reunification will certainly be achieved in the near future, he stressed.

U.S.Unilateral Pressure for DPRK's Dismantlement of Its "Nuclear Program" Blasted

     Pyongyang, June 21 (KCNA) -- As already reported the G-8 summit recently held in the United States adopted a "G-8 action plan on nonproliferation" which contains paragraphs demanding the DPRK accept CVID, asserting that its possession of nuclear deterrent is a violation of the international obligation. Rodong Sinmun Monday in a signed commentary says that this was prompted by the U.S. intention to force its unilateral will upon the DPRK in violation of the principle of justice, equality and impartiality in international relations.
    It goes on:
    The U.S. is chiefly to blame for the emergence of the nuclear issue between the DPRK and the U.S.
    It is the U.S. which reneged on its international obligation and wantonly violated the NPT. It should, therefore, dismantle nukes in a verifiable and irreversible manner. But the "advanced countries" kept mum about the U.S. nuclear-related crimes at the summit. By faking up such a document the U.S. and other countries sought to put pressure upon the DPRK to scrap its nuclear program first through "forced inspection" in a bid to stifle it as they did in Iraq.
    The paragraphs of the "document" dealing with the issue of the DPRK only provide with the DPRK ample justification to increase its defensive nuclear deterrent force with powerful catalyst.
    For a fair solution to the nuclear issue between the DPRK and the U.S. the countries concerned should demand the U.S. drop at once its hostile policy toward the DPRK proceeding from a correct standpoint and attitude The DPRK does not have any interest in other option but this nor expects it.
    The U.S. seems to claim that it alone has the "political vision" and "standards" to discern between right and wrong and can do everything and other countries should meekly follow its will. Such U.S.-style superpower logic and unilateralism will never work on the DPRK.

Pyongyang-Dandong International Bus Service Starts

     Pyongyang, June 21 (KCNA) -- A regular international bus service between Pyongyang and Dandong, China, has started. The first batch of buses left Changgwangsan Hotel in Pyongyang for Dandong at 8 a.m. on June 21.
    From June 22, buses will leave Pyongyang and Dandong simultaneously.
    The bus service is available every day except Saturday and Sunday. The buses offer necessary service and comfort to travelers.
    The bus line is operated by the Korea Ulrim Transportation Joint Venture Company and the Dandong, China, International Tourist Agency.

Kimjongilia Show Goes on Successfully

     Pyongyang, June 21 (KCNA) -- The Kimjongilia show, which opened in Pyongyang in celebration of the 40th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (June 19), is going on successfully. On display there are more than 15,000 Kimjongilia pots exhibited by 74 ministries, national institutions and armed forces units.
    Attracting particular attention of the visitors are the stands of servicemen which reflect their loyalty to Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il.
    Conspicuous on the stand of the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces is a portrait of Kim Jong Il against the background of the building of the WPK Central Committee and the blue sky over the country.
    It represents two red flags with two rotating crystal pots of Kimilsungia and some 610 Kimjongilia pots. It shows the strong will of the servicemen to win victory after victory under the leadership of Kim Jong Il, holding high the red flag on this land where the revolutionary history of President Kim Il Sung is being successfully carried forward.
    The stand is decorated by a small fountain.
    Marvelous is the stand of Ri Sang Ryol's unit of the Korean People's Army.
    It also presents 610 Kimjongilia pots portraying a flying flag bearing Kim Jong Il's portrait and, in its lower part, the building of the Party Central Committee.
    Another stand, which is flanked by a model of Jong Il Peak made with pumice stones of Mt. Paektu and a model of Kim Il Sung University made with various kinds of flowers, vividly shows Kim Jong Il's great life and exploits performed for the Party building.
    The Mansudae Art Studio's stand with 19 hexangular supporters represents beautiful Kimjongilia with blue leaves.
    The stand of the Bureau of Reception for Overseas Compatriots portrays a floral basket with Kimjongilia pots reflecting the people's best wishes to him who has been leading the WPK along the road of victory without any slightest deviation over the past 40 years.
    The show is full of ardent will of the Korean people to carry out the revolutionary cause under Kim Jong Il's leadership.

Korean Wrestling Tournament for "Grand Bull Prize" under Way

     Pyongyang, June 21 (KCNA) -- The second round of the "Grand Bull Price" National TV Korean Wrestling (Ssirum) Tournament of Working People on the occasion of the lunar May 5th, a folk holiday, is going on at Pyongyang Indoor Stadium amid public interest. At the tournament, which began on the 20th of June, 60 players selected in provincial (city) matches competed in an open-weight and knock-out way.
    Competing at the matches held on the 21st were the 30 selected players and Ri Jong Chol of North Phyongan Province who distinguished himself in the first round of the tournament.
    Players from Pyongyang and North Phyongan and North Hamgyong provinces proved successful at the second day matches.
    The fans raised cheers rocking the stadium, dancing mask dance and other dances whenever players showed wonderful techniques.
    The matches of those above sixty also took place amid a thunderous hand-clapping of the spectators.
    The tournament continues.

KCNA Assails Japan's New Laws for Militarization and Overseas Invasion

     Pyongyang, June 21 (KCNA) -- Seven laws related to emergency and a bill banning the portcall of specified foreign ships were adopted at the session of the House of Councilors of Japan on June 14. This merits serious attention as it is a provocative act of destabilizing peace and stability of Asia and seriously infringing upon the sovereignty of the DPRK in particular.
    The Japanese right-wing conservative forces adopted three laws related to emergency last year including the law for coping with armed attack. The recent adoption of the seven laws finally brought to completion the adjustment of the laws related to emergency aimed at providing a legal and institutional guarantee for their revival of militarism and reinvasion.
    By adopting the seven laws the Japanese right-wing conservative forces have strengthened Japan's military alliance with the U.S. and paved a wide avenue for overseas aggression. This has reduced to a dead document the "Peace Constitution" which bans Japan's exercise of the right to collective self-defence and the right of belligerency.
    The Japanese right-wing conservatives have become more undisguised recently in their moves to institute a new constitution aimed at the revival of militarism and overseas expansion.
    This is clearly proved by the fact that the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan included "the institution of the new constitution" in the draft amendment to be made to its "programme" on the occasion of its 50th founding anniversary which will fall on November 2005 and set forth the constitutional revision as its supreme task. They call for deleting paragraph 2 of article 9, a core article of the "Peace Constitution", which bans Japan's possession of armed forces, defining the "Self-Defence Forces" as an army and claiming the right to self-defence.
    In fact, for the Japanese aggression forces the "Peace Constitution" has been a stumbling block in their way of legislating on the militarization of the state system.
    Therefore, the right-wing conservatives of Japan have so far rendered the constitution defunct little by little and have already declared the areas around the Korean peninsula as the theatre of their operation under the pretext of coping with emergency in its surrounding areas.
    What matters is that they have chosen the DPRK as the target of their constitutional revision.
    The final adoption of the law banning the portcall of specified foreign ships is aimed to strangle the DPRK economically.
    With nothing can the Japanese right-wing conservative forces justify their unsavory acts of going against the positive trend towards the improved relations between the DPRK and Japan noticeable in the wake of the talks between the top leaders of the two countries on May 22.
    The right-wing conservatives of Japan should not run wild, well aware that Japan's revival of militarism and overseas expansion will only lead it to its self-destruction.

DPRK Delegation to Six-party Talks Leaves

     Pyongyang, June 21 (KCNA) -- A DPRK delegation led by Kim Kye Gwan, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, left Pyongyang Monday to participate in the third round of the six-party talks on the nuclear issue between the DPRK and the U.S. to start in Beijing from June 23. It was seen off at the airport by Kim Yong Il, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, officials concerned, Russian Ambassador to the DPRK Andrei Karlov and Minister-Councilor of the Chinese embassy here Guan Huabing.

Funciones artisticas por el 19 de junio

     Pyongyang, 21 de junio (ATCC) -- Las funciones artisticas por el 40 aniversario del inicio del trabajo del Dirigente Kim Jong Il en el Comite Central del Partido del Trabajo de Corea tuvieron lugar en el Gran Teatro de Pyongyang, la Casa Central de la Juventud, el Palacio Cultural del Pueblo, los Palacios de Ninos y Escolares de Mangyongdae y de Pyongyang. Las presenciaron Kim Yong Nam, presidente del Presidium de la Asamblea Popular Suprema y otros cuadros directivos del partido, el Estado y el ejercito.
    En el Gran Teatro de Pyongyang se ofrecio la funcion conjunta de musica y danza de los artistas del Conjunto Artistico Mansudae y del Conjunto Operistico "Mar de sangre".
    Los ejecutantes pusieron en las escenas el solo de trompeta y coro "?Donde esta el querido general?", la imperecedera obra maestra clasica, el conjunto instrumental femenino "Sentimos nostalgia por su caluroso afecto", el cuarteto femenino y trio de instrumento de viento de bambu "En mi patria se oye la cancion por doquier" y otras piezas que describen tono alto la gran alegria y felicidad que experimenta el pueblo al acoger el glorioso dia de enaltecer al gran hombre legendario del Paektu.
    Se resonaron las canciones de las 5 operas revolucionarias junto con las escenas operisticas.
    Los artistas del Grupo de Propaganda Artistica Central Juvenil al actuar en la Casa Central de la Juventud elogiaron altamente las inmortales hazanas del Dirigente Kim Jong Il quien fortalecio y desarrollo el PTC en el glorioso Partido del Presidente Kim Il Sung y escribio la historia de gran viraje en el cumplimiento de la causa revolucionaria del Juche.
    Los espectadores quedaron muy conmovidos al presenciar el conjunto instrumental "Nilriri del Songun", la danza femina en grupo "La azalea de Cholryong" y otras que traducen el caluroso sentimiento de agradecimiento y veneracion de nuestro pueblo al Dirigente quien con la direccion mediante el Songun (priorizacion militar) exalto a todo el mundo la dignidad y el honor de la nacion y trajo el periodo de gran prosperidad de la patria.

    Los ejecutantes describieron vividamente los aspectos alegres de los ninos de todo el pais que en el regazo caluroso del mariscal Kim Jong Il crecen fuertemente como encargados futuros de la epoca del Songun.

Exhibicion de Kimjongilias

     Pyongyang, 21 de junio (ATCC) -- Esta montada en esta capital la Exhibicion de Kimjongilias por el 19 de Junio, dia en que se cumplen los 40 anos desde cuando el Dirigente Kim Jong Il comenzara a trabajar en el Comite Central del Partido del Trabajo de Corea. Mas de 15 mil Kimjongilias que son flor del Sol, expuestos por 74 ministerios, organos centrales e instituciones de las fuerzas armadas, llaman particular atencion de los visitantes. Estos detienen sus pasos ante las flores de los demostradores que reflejan el juramento de los militares de vivir eternamente en calidad de camaradas eternos del Comandante Supremo en la revolucion mediante el Songun (priorizacion militar).
    En el mostrador de flores del Ministerio de las Fuerzas Armadas Populares se ve el retrato del Comandante Supremo Kim Jong Il, de pie con el edificio del CC del PTC y el cielo claro a su fondo, las dos macetas de cuarzo con Kimilsungias abiertas a plenitud, y mas de 610 unidades de esta flor describiendo 2 banderas rojas. Esto demuestra la absoluta conviccion y voluntad de los militares de ganar la victoria siempre bajo la direccion del Dirigente y con la bandera roja en alto en esta tierra donde transita eternamente la historia revolucionaria del Presidente Kim Il Sung.
    El pequeno surtidor agranda la fascinacion del mostrador.
    Se salta a la vista tambien el mostrador de la Unidad de Ri Sang Ryol del Ejercito Popular de Corea en el que mas de 610 flores del Sol describen una bandera con la efigie del Dirigente y, abajo con esta a su fondo, el edificio del CC del PTC. La maqueta del pico Jongil hecha con piedra pomez del monte Paektu, y la de la Universidad Kim Il Sung hecha tridimensionalmente con diversas flores demuestran vividamente con el metodo simbolico la gran vida del Dirigente y sus hazanas de construccion del partido.
    El mostrador de la Direccion del Recibimiento a los Coreanos en Ultramar y los demas describen cesto de flores de votos con Kimjongilias traduciendo la unanime aspiracion del pueblo coreano a rendir maximo homenaje al Dirigente quien durante los 40 anos ha conducido el PTC por el unico camino de la victoria sin desviacion alguna.
    En todos los mostradores de la Exhibicion se notan palpablemente la firme conviccion y decision del pueblo coreano de recorrer hasta el fin el largo camino de la revolucion bajo la direccion del Dirigente.
