CPRF Calls for Checking S. Korean Additional Troop Dispatch to Iraq
Pyongyang, June 29 (KCNA) -- The Secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland (CPRF) Monday released information bulletin No. 874 with regard to the evermore open pressure put by the United States on the south Korean authorities to force them to additionally dispatch troops to Iraq after the murder of a south Korean civilian abducted by an Iraqi resistant force.
U.S. President Bush at a "joint press conference" on June 22 openly demanded that the south Korean authorities send additional troops to Iraq.
And the deputy secretary of State and deputy secretary of Defense at the Senate Arms Services Committee on June 25 made threatening remarks demanding the south Korean authorities dispatch additional troop to Iraq as planned.
This is an intolerable challenge to the south Koreans and the entire Korean nation resolutely opposing the U.S. war of aggression in Iraq and its pressure for additional troop dispatch to Iraq, says the information bulletin, adding: This throws a more revealing light on its criminal scheme to drive out south Korean young people to the Iraqi battlefield at any cost as bullet-shields for the U.S. troops.
To dispatch troops to Iraq in obedience to the U.S., the bulletin goes on, is a very unreasonable act going against the aspiration and desire of the entire Korean nation and the peace-loving people of the world and an unpardonable treachery against the nation which would force misfortunes and sacrifices upon the fellow countrymen and invite a war to the Korean peninsula in cooperation with the U.S. in its unilateral policy of aggression.
The south Korean people from all walks of life should decisively frustrate the criminal troop dispatch to Iraq, well aware that if the additional troop dispatch to Iraq were carried into practice by force by the U.S. and its followers, it would bring a more miserable result than the case of Kim Son Il, and should turn out more bravely in the righteous anti-U.S. struggle to put an end to the U.S. military occupation and colonial rule over south Korea.
U.S. Urged to Meet DPRK's Just Demand
Pyongyang, June 29 (KCNA) -- The All India Indo-Korean Friendship Association, the Indian Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification and the Asian Regional Committee to Support Korea's Reunification made public a joint statement in New Delhi on June 24 on the occasion of the (June 25-July 27) month of anti-U.S. joint struggle.
The statement said that June 25 was the day when the U.S. ignited the Korean war 54 years ago and July 27 was the day when the Korean people won the war after defeating the U.S. imperialists 51 years ago.
The Korean people won the great victory in the war thanks to the outstanding strategy and commanding art of President Kim Il Sung and the struggle waged by them united close around the President, the statement noted, adding:
The U.S. imperialists keep straining the situation on the Korean peninsula, persistently resorting to the aggressive moves for mounting a preemptive attack on the DPRK, far from drawing a lesson from the last Korean war.
The U.S. should replace the Korean Armistice Agreement by a peace agreement, immediately withdraw from south Korea its armed forces of aggression and weapons of mass destruction including nuclear weapons and accept the DPRK's just demand for settling the nuclear issue according to the principle of "reward for freeze."
The statement called upon all the peace-loving people in the world to conduct an international campaign to this end.

The deputy governor of Pokino City in an address made at an opening ceremony of the Korean photo, book and handicraft exhibition said that Russia and the DPRK are friendly neighbors sharing the same border and have maintained friendship and cooperation through history. He reiterated his will to steadily boost the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.
The director of the above-said Thai company at a film show noted that Kim Jong Il has wisely led the Korean and world revolutions for over 40 years, adding: We will always support the Korean people.
The director of the above-mentioned Indonesian company said that the film helped him know well how strong the Korean people and the WPK rallied close around Kim Jong Il are.

It drew 224 pupils from over 36 countries.
Its participants competed in speaking Russian, the introduction of their countries and culture, and composition.
All the DPRK pupils each got 50 marks in speaking.
In the introduction of their countries and culture and composition they successfully represented the noble ideological and mental spirit and high level of knowledge of the DPRK pupils by successfully introducing in fluent Russian the validity and vitality of the Songun politics, the brilliant culture of Korea, the stirring reality of the country where the drive to build a great prosperous powerful nation is now underway and their dream and future.
At the contest Hong Won Jik was awarded a certificate of the top prize and a medal.
Certificates of the first prizes and medals went to Pae Kyong Il, Han Un Byol, Kim Un Yong, Ho Won Il, Pak Yu Song and Kim Kui Hyang.

More Rallies Held to Mark Day of Struggle against U.S. Imperialism
Pyongyang, June 29 (KCNA) -- Mass rallies have been held in different parts of Korea to mark "June 25, the day of struggle against the U.S. imperialists".
On June 28 mass rallies took place in Jagang, North Hamgyong and Ryanggang provinces.
The chairmen of the provincial people's committees and representatives of various social strata, addressing the rallies, said the U.S. imperialists, who had ceaselessly committed aggression on and pillage in Korea down through history, ignited a war on June 25, 1950, with massive armed forces and military hardware to nip the DPRK in the bud.
They recalled with towering rage that the U.S. imperialists during the war dropped an average of 18 bombs on each square km of the northern half of Korea, reducing everything to debris and brutally murdered tens of thousands of Korean people by chemical and biological weapons alone in gross violation of human ethics and morality and international law.
The U.S. imperialists, far from drawing a proper lesson from their miserable defeat in the Korean war, are deploying Patriot missiles and other latest military equipment in south Korea, posing more undisguised military threat to the DPRK, while putting it on the list of "members of the evil axis" and "terrorism-sponsoring countries", the speakers said.
No force on earth can match the DPRK as long as there are our single-hearted unity mightier than nuclear weapons and the strong revolutionary army of Mt. Paektu which has been strengthened into a powerful defending force of the revolutionary cause of Juche, the speakers said, sternly warning that if the U.S. imperialists provoked another war of aggression, tens of millions of avengers in this land would sweep them, the chieftain of crimes, off the earth to the last man.
At the mass rallies held in North Phyongan, South Hwanghae and South Hamgyong provinces on June 27, the speakers stated that if the U.S. imperialists dared ignite the second Korean war in defiance of warnings, the heroic Korean People's Army soldiers and people led by the illustrious commander of Mt. Paektu would rise up like a giant and wipe them out, wreaking the vengeance ranking deeply in their hearts.
U.S. Forces' "Reduction" Termed Arms Build-up
Pyongyang, June 29 (KCNA) -- There are a series of new U.S. military moves in south Korea such as the cutback of its forces there and the stepped-up relocation of its base.
The U.S. announced an "arms build-up plan" calling for spending 11 billion dollars to fill "the gap" caused by the "reduction" of its forces and is massively shipping ultra-modern weapons and war means into south Korea.
Minju Joson Tuesday in a commentary in this regard observes: Lurking behind these moves is a sinister aim to improve the qualitative capability of the U.S. forces in south Korea in keeping with the changed environment in a bid to further strengthen its domination over south Korea and its vicinity.
It is the ulterior design of the Bush bellicose forces to isolate and stifle the DPRK militarily and thus deter other powers from expanding the sphere of their influence in Northeast Asia and meet the U.S. strategic interests, the commentary notes, and goes on:
The U.S. "reduction" of its forces is aimed at converting its forces in south Korea into aggressor armed forces with high maneuverability and striking power capable of directly carrying out the strategy of a preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK.
It is as clear as noonday that the arms build-up stepped up under the signboard of "troop cutback" would only further increase the danger of war in Korea.
If the U.S. sincerely hopes for peace and detente on the Korean peninsula, it should not deceive the world public with its talk about "reduction" but pull its forces out of south Korea to the last man.
U.S. Report on "Flesh Traffic" Accused
Pyongyang, June 29 (KCNA) -- The United States recently published what it called "report on flesh traffic". In this report the United States let loose sheer sophism that the DPRK is a "source of flesh traffic" and "it does not have even the lowest standards to combat flesh traffic." In this regard Rodong Sinmun today says in a signed commentary:
The U.S. talk about the DPRK's "flesh traffic" reminds one of a thief crying "Stop thief!" The U.S. is not qualified to talk about the "issue of flesh traffic".
The U.S. is the root cause of human traffic and chiefly responsible for it.
Undisguised flesh traffic of contemporary form is now going on in back streets of the U.S. in broad daylight.
GIs' man-killings and savage torture and maltreatment of prisoners in Iraq, Afghanistan and Guantanamo glaringly reveal the true colors of the U.S. as a kingpin of human traffic and the world's worst violator of human rights.
Not content with hurling all sorts of vituperation at the DPRK, the U.S. pulled up it even over the issue of "human traffic". This mean mud-slinging can be done only by the U.S. imperialists ill-famed for plot-breeding and steeped in bitterness towards the DPRK to the marrow of their bones.
With nothing can the United States ever realize its ambition to isolate and stifle the DPRK.
The U.S. would be well advised to address the serious issue of human traffic at home, instead of making a nonsensical talk about the DPRK's "human traffic."
Upholding Banner of Independence against U.S. Called for
Pyongyang, June 29 (KCNA) -- The cause of national reunification that has reached a new historical stage calls for holding higher than ever before the banner of independence against the United States. In order to achieve sovereignty, the life and soul of the nation, and put strong impetus to the reunification movement the Korean nation should advance along the road of independence against the U.S. without fail. Rodong Sinmun today says this in a signed article.
It goes on:
Nothing is more foolish than calculating that the U.S. which split the Korean nation will make a present of reunification to it. To struggle for independence against the U.S. leads to patriotism and reunification.
In the past century when struggles were waged to liberate Korea anti-Japanese actions meant patriotism but at present the anti-U.S. struggle to reunify the country represents patriotism.
It is a bitter lesson taught by the history of the national reunification movement that the Koreans' movement for national reconciliation, unity and the reunification of the country can not but undergo pain and twists and turns as long as the U.S. imperialists stay in south Korea.
The key to the victory in the struggle for independence against the U.S. lies in the unity of the whole nation.
There exists on the Korean peninsula only the structure of the Korean nation's confrontation with U.S. now that all Koreans are working hard to achieve national reconciliation, unity and the reunification of the country by their concerted efforts under the banner of the Korean nation-first.
The policy of the Bush administration to isolate and stifle the DPRK remains unchanged and it is becoming more undisguised in its moves to bring the DPRK to its knees by force and dominate it.
All Koreans in the north and the south and overseas are the driving force in the struggle for independence against the U.S.
Even U.S. dangerous nuclear weapons will be useless when all Koreans join efforts and conduct a vigorous joint struggle to frustrate the U.S. moves for confrontation and war against the reunification of Korea.

The message extended warm regards and congratulations to the president on his recent successful operation and best wishes for his earliest possible recovery.
KCNA Dismisses Japanese Right-wing Conservatives' Anti-DPRK Moves as Anachronistic
Pyongyang, June 29, (KCNA) -- The Japanese right-wing conservative forces are contemplating the use of the "law banning the portcall of specified foreign ships" as a means to threaten the DPRK in the wake of its adoption at the Diet.
Abe, secretary general of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan, said recently that he expected the government to "make an effective use of the law as a diplomatic card for the settlement of the abduction issue" in an attempt to put pressure upon the DPRK.
This is an anachronistic act to reduce the DPRK-Japan Pyongyang Declaration to a dead document and block the implementation of the declaration come what may.
The third paragraph of the declaration says both sides affirm that they will abide by international law and will not do any act threatening each other's security. According to the paragraph, Japan is committed to refrain not only from putting any economic pressure upon the DPRK and enforcing any measure for blockade against it but deliberately posing any threat to the DPRK's economic life and throwing any hurdle in its way.
From this point of view the "law banning the portcall of specified foreign ships" targeted at the DPRK's ship Mangyongbong-92 totally runs counter to the DPRK-Japan Pyongyang Declaration which calls on the DPRK and Japan to observe international law and refrain from threatening each other's security.
What merits a more serious attention is that the Japanese right-wing conservative forces not only spearheaded the drive to adopt such anti-DPRK law but are openly calling for the use of the law as a leverage to put pressure upon the DPRK, raising a hue and cry over the "abduction issue".
As far as the "abduction issue" is concerned, the DPRK has already sent the families of the five abductees to Japan. It is making every sincere effort to help Soga and her husband Jenkins and their daughters reunite, taking their intentions into consideration.
The Japanese right-wing conservative forces, however, are invoking such anti-DPRK law, in disregard of its sincere efforts.
This can not be construed otherwise than a move to isolate and suffocate the DPRK at any cost under the pretext of the "abduction issue".
These indiscreet moves of those forces indicate that they are still toeing the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK, displeased with the atmosphere of improving the relations between the two countries created in the wake of the recent DPRK-Japan summit. The reckless hostile anti-DPRK moves of those who are steeped in the spirit of kowtowing to the U.S. to the marrow of their bones are bound to go bust as they are unjustifiable.
They had better behave themselves, pondering over the grave consequences to be entailed by their acts.
