Meeting for Remembering Exploits of President Kim Il Sung Held in Beijing

     Beijing, July 2 (KCNA) -- A meeting for remembering the revolutionary exploits of President Kim Il Sung was held in the Great Hall of People in Beijing on July 2 under the co- sponsorship of the China Association for International Friendly Contact and the Beijing Association for International Friendly Contact on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the demise of President Kim Il Sung. Shown at the meeting was a Korean film "We Will Hold the Fatherly Leader in Higher Esteem".
    Vice-president of the China Association for International Friendly Contact said that the President established the deep and warm friendly relations with the Chinese people in the course of the joint struggle against the Japanese imperialists and the U.S. imperialists and for the building of socialism and was deeply respected and loved by them.
    The heroic Korean people have made steady new achievements by the united efforts to build a great prosperous powerful nation despite all sorts of difficulties so as to carry out the will of the President under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea headed by Kim Jong Il, he said, adding that the people of China sincerely rejoice over them.
    Noting that the two countries are linked by the same mountain and river and the long-standing friendship between the two peoples is given continuity generation after generation, he expressed firm belief that the traditional friendship between China and Korea would steadily grow stronger under the care of General Secretary Hu Jintao and General Secretary Kim Jong Il.
    Families of Zhou Wei, Feng Songguang and Liu Xiaohua, families of those associated with the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, renewed their determination to positively contribute to the growth of the bilateral friendly relations so as to fulfill the will of the martyrs.

Russian Foreign Minister Arrives

     Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) -- Sergei Viktorovich Lavrov, foreign minister of Russia, arrived here today to visit the DPRK at the invitation of Paek Nam Sun, foreign minister of the DPRK. He and his party were met at the airport by Kung Sok Ung, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, officials concerned, Andrei Gennadievich Karlov, Russian ambassador to the DPRK, and staff members of his embassy here.

Meeting to Remember President Kim Il Sung Held in Russia

     Moscow, July 2 (KCNA) -- The Party for Peace and Unity of Russia sponsored a meeting to remember the revolutionary life and immortal exploits of President Kim Il Sung on July 1 on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of his demise. Sazhi Umalatova, chairperson of the party, in a report said that the DPRK has creditably embodied the idea and cause of the President for the past 10 years.
    The heroic Korean people have firmly defended socialism despite the vicious political, economic, military and diplomatic blockade of the U.S.-led allied forces of imperialism, she noted, adding: Thanks to the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il who glorifies the idea and cause of the President for all ages the idea and exploits of the President will be immortal.
    Recalling that world famous artistes sang songs praising the exploits and greatness of the President on the stages of the Pyongyang April spring friendship art festival, an annual event, speakers added that all these facts go to prove that the President performed great exploits for the justice and progress of humankind and global independence.

DPRK Government Does Its Best for Global Peace and Prosperity

     Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) -- The DPRK government does its best to ensure durable peace and stability on the Korean peninsula so as to contribute to the peace and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region and the rest of the world. DPRK Foreign Minister Paek Nam Sun said this at the ministerial-level meeting of the 11th ASEAN Regional Forum on July 2.
    He referred to the efforts of the forum to contribute to peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region through confidence building among member nations of the forum.
    Saying that the final goal of the DPRK is the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula, he said that confidence building between the DPRK and the U.S. is a precondition for the settlement of all the issues.
    The proposal for "reward to freeze", the measure of the first phase for package solution based on simultaneous action put forward by the DPRK at the 3rd round of the six-party talks, is the basic way of settling the nuclear issue between them.

Talks between DPRK and Russian Foreign Ministers Held

     Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) -- Talks took place between DPRK Foreign Minister Paek Nam Sun and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Viktorovich Lavrov, at the Mansudae Assembly Hall today. At the talks, both sides expressed satisfaction over the relations between the two countries developing on good terms and exchanged views on the need to boost the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries and a series of issues of common concern including international issue.
    Present at the talks on the DPRK side were Kung Sok Ung, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, and officials concerned and on the opposite side were members of the Russian foreign minister's party, Andrei Gennadievich Karlov, Russian ambassador to the DPRK, and staff members of his embassy here.
    The talks proceeded in a friendly atmosphere.

Wreath Laid before Liberation Tower

     Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Viktorovich Lavrov, laid a wreath before the Liberation Tower on July 4. Attending there were Kung Sok Ung, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, officials concerned, the party of the foreign minister, Andrei Gennadievich Karlov, Russian ambassador to the DPRK, and members of his embassy here.
    Lined up at the tower were the honor guards of the Korean People's Army.
    The wreath was laid before the tower in the name of the foreign minister amidst the playing of wreath-laying music.
    The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of the martyrs of the Soviet Army.
    They went round the tower.

Kim Yong Nam Meets Russian Foreign Minister

2005-2006 Plan of Exchange between For. Ministries of DPPK and Russia

     Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) -- A 2005-2006 plan of exchange between the foreign ministries of the DPRK and the Russian Federation was signed at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on July 4. Present at the signing ceremony on the DPRK side were Foreign Minister Paek Nam Sun, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Kung Sok Ung and officials concerned and on the opposite side were Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Viktorovich Lavrov, his party, Russian Ambassador e. p. to the DPRK Andrei Gennadievich Karlov and staff members of his embassy here.

Floral Basket Laid before Statue of President Kim Il Sung

     Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Viktorovich Lavrov laid a floral basket before the statue of President Kim Il Sung standing on Mansu Hill on July 4. Present there were the party of the foreign minister, Andrei Gennadievich Karlov, Russian ambassador e. p. to the DPRK, and staff members of his embassy.

Kim Jong Il Receives Head of Russian Dance Company

     Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, received Elena Scherbakova, head of the visiting State Academic Moiseyev Folk Dance Company of Russia, on Friday. Present there was Andrei Karlov, Russian ambassador e.p. to the DPRK.
    The head of the dance company presented a gift to Kim Jong Il.
    He expressed thanks to this and warmly welcomed the visit of the company to the DPRK. He had a warm talk with her.
    He had a photo session with the artistes of the company.

Kim Jong Il Enjoys Art Performance Given by Russian Dance Company

     Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, enjoyed an art performance given by the visiting State Academic Moiseyev Folk Dance Company of Russia on Friday. He was accompanied by Jong Ha Chol and Kim Ki Nam, secretaries of the Central Committee of the WPK.
    Among the audience were Elena Scherbakova, head of the dance company, Andrei Karlov, Russian ambassador e.p. to the DPRK, and staff members of the embassy here.
    The company put on the stage colorful numbers including Russian dances "Summer" and "Seamen's Dance Yablochko", an Estonian dance, an Azariyan dance and a Polish dance.
    The performers truthfully represented the optimistic life, national emotion and detailed aspects of Russians and various other nations.
    They clearly showed the appearance of the dance company with a long history and tradition through a high level of representation.
    The performance closed with chorus "The Song of Friendship" created by the company.
    It was acclaimed by the audience.
    Kim Jong Il sent a floral basket to the artistes congratulating them on their successful presentation.

Russian FM Calls for Package Solution to DPRK-U.S. Nuclear Issue

     Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov in an interview with Russian pressmen appreciated the results of the third round of the six-party talks on the nuclear issue between the DPRK and the U.S. as a "good omen," according to ITAR TASS on July 1. He said.
    What is important is to reach a final agreement. We have proceeded from the point of view that there should be a package solution such as the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula and a security guarantee.
    The talks proved that they should go in the direction of seeking a package solution step by step. Its first phase is to make a reward for the freeze of the nuclear program. The agreement can be made only when the talks keep seeking a package solution, not going through only a phase.
    We have advocated a package solution since the outset and all the countries have now recognized it.

National Photo Exhibition Opens

     Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- A national photo exhibition opened with due ceremony at the People's Palace of Culture Friday to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the demise of President Kim Il Sung. On display at the exhibition hall are over 160 photos showing the immortal revolutionary feats the President performed for the country, the revolution, the times and humankind and his brilliant revolutionary life and the exploits leader Kim Jong Il performed by opening a new history of the cause of perpetuating the leader's memory.
    Seen in the centre of the hall is a portrait of the smiling President.
    Such photos as "Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung, Outstanding Thinker and Theoretician" deal with the ideological and theoretical exploits of the President who founded the immortal Juche idea, thus ushering in the era of independence and clearly indicating the road to be followed by humankind.
    Displayed in the hall are photos including "Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung Inspecting Military Parade of Korean People's Army from Tribune of Honor," "Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung Announcing Political Programme at First Session of DPRK Supreme People's Assembly" and "Respected Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung and Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il Guiding 6th Congress of Workers' Party of Korea."
    Also on display there are photos showing the noble image of the President who made tireless efforts for the country's reunification and the accomplishment of the cause of global independence.
    Visitors can see photos such as "Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il Guiding Work to Build Kumsusan Memorial Palace into Sacred Temple of Juche on Spot" and "Supreme Commander of Korean People's Army Comrade Kim Jong Il Receiving Bouquet Carrying Boundless Reverence of Servicepersons during His Visit to Post under Pine Trees."

Public Presentation on Greatness of Kim Il Sung Held

     Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- The Ministry of the People's Armed Forces sponsored a public presentation on the greatness of President Kim Il Sung at the April 25 House of Culture on Friday on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of his demise. Vice-Marshal of the Korean People's Army Jo Myong Rok, director of the General Political Department of the KPA, KPA Vice-Marshal Kim Yong Chun, chief of the General Staff of the KPA, KPA Vice-Marshal Kim Il Chol, minister of the People's Armed Forces, and KPA General Pak Jae Gyong presented their papers under the respective titles: "The respected Comrade Kim Il Sung was a great father of the people who devoted his whole life to them with the idea of believing in the people as in Heaven as his maxim," "The respected Comrade Kim Il Sung was the great illustrious commander who pioneered our revolution with arms and led it to one victory after another," "The respected leader Comrade Kim Il Sung was a world political elder who made an immortal contribution to the implementation of the human cause of independence with a noble internationalist obligation " and "The respected Comrade Kim Jong Il is a peerlessly great man who accomplished the cause of perpetuating the memory of the leader for the first time in history."
    They recalled the fact that thanks to the President's policy of worshipping and respecting the people there came into being in this land people-centred socialism of Korean-style where the people became the master of society and everything serves them and a new society for the people where their desire became a brilliant reality.
    In the whole course of building a new country and carrying out the socialist cause the President devoted all his wisdom and energies into the work to fully prepare the People's Army politically and ideologically and in military technique, build an independent modern defence industry and turn the whole country into an impregnable fortress, they noted, adding: As a result no aggressors dared provoke it.
    Referring to the fact that the President led the world progressive people to the road of independence, shouldering upon himself their destiny and future, they said that he set out the main strategy of the world revolution to save the non-aligned movement from a crisis, set store by his close relations with foreign friends in the sense of noble internationalist obligation and showed invariably profound love and benevolence for them.
    They called on all the servicepersons to hold Supreme Commander of the KPA Kim Jong Il in higher esteem and strive harder to build a great prosperous powerful nation and bring earlier national reunification under his Songun revolutionary leadership as befitting soldiers and disciples of the President in order to honor the pledge they had made before his bier.

Governor of Russian Maritime Territory Donates Fund to Constr. of Church in DPRK

     Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- Sergey Mikhailovich Darikin, governor of the Maritime Territory of the Russian Federation, sent an aid fund to the construction site of the Jongbaek Church. The fund was conveyed to an official concerned Friday by the Russian ambassador e.p. to the DPRK.

Greetings to CARICOM Meeting

     Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- Pak Pong Ju, premier of the DPRK Cabinet, sent a message of greetings to the 25th meeting of heads of governments of the CARICOM member nations. In the message he noted that he is pleased with the fact that the meeting of heads of governments of the CARICOM member nations will be held amid great interest and expectation of the people in the region. CARICOM has registered many successes in the work to strengthen the integration and unity among its member nations and achieve the regional prosperity in conformity with their needs and aspiration, he noted, and went on:
    The member nations are promoting the regional political stability and economic integration on the principle of mutual respect and unity after setting out a common strategy to cope with the unjust interference and arbitrary practices of big powers against the region. This is duly appreciated by the international community.

     Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, on July 1 sent a congratulatory message to Olafur Ragnar Grimsson on his reelection as president of the Republic of Iceland. Rusia: Comite de Recordacion a Kim Il Sung

     Pyongyang, 3 de julio (ATCC) -- Quedo constituido el 28 de junio en Moscu el comite de recordacion al camarada Kim Il Sung, gran Lider. La resolucion adoptada en el acto constitutivo anuncia que el Comite lo preside Vladimir Tolstikov, presidente de la Asociacion Rusa por la Amistad y Cooperacion Cultural con la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea, y lo integran mas de 10 personalidades de distintos sectores.
    El documento subraya que el Comite organizara acto de recordacion sobre la vida revolucionaria e inmortales hazanas revolucionarias del Presidente, exhibicion de fotos, proyeccion filmica y otras actividades alusivas al decimo aniversario de su fallecimiento.

     Pyongyang, 3 de julio (ATCC) -- Quedo constituido el 21 de junio en Lima el Comite Preparatorio Peruano de Recordacion al Presidente Kim Il Sung. Como presidente del Comite fue electo Alberto Moreno, secretario general del Comite Central del Partido Comunista del Peru (Patria Roja).
    El Comite fijo del 21 de junio al 20 de julio como periodo de recordacion y decidio efectuar acto de recordacion, simposio, conferencia, proyeccion filmica, exhibicion de fotos y otras actividades.
