Solidarity Message to Cuba

     Pyongyang, July 12 (KCNA) -- Choe Thae Bok, chairman of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, sent a message to Ricardo Alarcon de Quesada, president of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba, expressing solidarity with the Cuban people in their struggle against the new sanctions of the U.S. administration against Cuba that have entered into the stage of implementation. Fully supporting the July 1 statement of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba, the message strongly denounced once again the U.S. blockade aimed to stifle the Cuban revolution.
    With no tough sanctions can the U.S. deter the Cuban people from dynamically advancing along the road of socialism with the firm conviction of victory, rallied close around respected Fidel Castro and the Communist Party of Cuba, the message stressed.
    Reiterating full support and invariable solidarity with the Cuban people in their struggle to decisively shatter the new sanctions of the U.S. and defend the cause of socialism to the last, the message reaffirmed that the Korean people would as ever stand firm on the side of the fraternal Cuban people.

Greetings to Mongolian President

     Pyongyang, July 12 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, on July 10 sent a message of greetings to Mongolian President Natsagyn Bagabandi on the occasion of the 83rd anniversary of the victory of the Mongolian people's revolution. Expressing the belief that the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries will as ever continue to expand and develop in conformity with the mutual interests of the two peoples, the message wished the president and the people of Mongolia new achievements in their work for the prosperity of the country.

Greetings to President of Sao Tome and Principe

     Pyongyang, July 12 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, on July 9 sent a message of greetings to Frederique de Menezes, president of the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe, on the occasion of the 29th anniversary of its independence and the proclamation of the republic. The message expressed the belief that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries would grow stronger.

Probe into Truth behind GIs' Massacres Demanded

     Pyongyang, July 12 (KCNA) -- The All-People Committee for Probe into the Truth behind Massacres before and after the War and Reinstatement called a press conference in Seoul on July 8 protesting the postponement of the examination of integrated law on probing the truth behind massacres and urging its institution. A press release published at the conference said it became undeniable truth that GIs massacred civilians as U.S. official documents are being disclosed one after another to prove that these mass killings were organized crimes.
    Recalling that in the past the bereaved families of the victims and public organizations consistently demanded a probe into the truth behind the massacres but the authorities have concealed them, defying their demand, the press release urged the 17th-term National Assembly to immediately examine the law and institute it.
    Meanwhile, the South Headquarters of the Nationwide Special Committee for Probing the Truth behind GIs' Massacres issued a statement titled "We denounce U.S. massacres" on July 6.
    The statement recalled it was disclosed by a document of the U.S. navy archives that a U.S. naval ship bombarded refugees, killing them in cold blood in Songgol valley in Phohang city, North Kyongsang Province during the June 25 Korean war.
    The statement noted: The U.S. government, however, has remained indifferent and kept mum about such mass killings though they are proved by testimonies made by bereaved families of the victims and documents related to them without let-up. It has not been earnest in the work to probe the truth behind the massacres, far from making any apology to the bereaved families.
    The South Headquarters of the Nationwide Special Committee for Probing the Truth behind the GIs' Massacres urges the U.S. government to repent of the crimes it committed in violation of morality and human rights in the period and come out in the work to probe the truth at an early date, the statement stressed.

Solidarity with Struggle for Checking Troop Dispatch to Iraq Called for

     Pyongyang, July 12 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification on July 7 issued a statement in support of the struggle of workers for checking troop dispatch to Iraq. Recalling that the (south) Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) has been in an unabated struggle for the withdrawal of the decision on troop dispatch to Iraq under the slogan of the struggle against the United States and war since it held the second meeting for an all-out struggle on June 29 , the statement said this struggle is a manifestation of resistance against the U.S. dirty war of aggression and a patriotic action to prevent the recurrence of such tragedy as the murder of Kim Son Il .
    To struggle against troop dispatch is an issue of protecting the vital rights of the workers and, at the same time, an issue of protecting the nation's right to existence, the statement said, stressing that the youth and students declare they will struggle in firm solidarity with the KCTU in its all-out struggle for checking the troop dispatch to Iraq.

Pro-U.S. Remarks of S. Korean Ruling Party Chief under Fire

     Pyongyang, July 12 (KCNA) -- The Reunification Solidarity of south Korea in a commentary on July 8 denounced the chairman of the Uri Party for making reckless remarks during his U.S. junket, glaringly revealing his true colours as a pro-U.S. sycophant. In the United States he let loose a string of balderdash that his party's policy on diplomacy and security is just the same as the Grand National Party's and his visit was aimed to carry out the operation with a special mission to reinforce the south Korea-U.S. alliance.
    During the "presidential election" the chairman voiced opposition to the U.S. toeing diplomacy but he is now taking a double-dealing attitude, asserting that the anti-American sentiment of the people is undesirable from the stand of the ruling party, the commentary noted and continued:.
    The political forces going against the trend of social development toward independence, peace and reunification are bound to be sternly judged by the people anytime.
    It urged the chairman to pay heed to the true mindset of the people and respond to it before facing their strong resistance.

Kim Jong Il's Exploits Praised

     Pyongyang, July 12 (KCNA) -- Dilip Barua, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (Marxist-Leninist), made public a statement to the press on July 5 on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the demise of President Kim Il Sung. When the sad news that Kim Il Sung passed away was aired ten years ago, the world community was shocked, he said, adding: The people were seriously concerned over the destiny of Korea, with the President gone.
    But, thanks to the outstanding Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il who is identical to the President in idea, leadership and virtues, the Korean people have been able to defend socialism staunchly and open the prospect of a new victory in the building of a great prosperous powerful socialist nation today. The Korean people saw the President alive in the appearance of Kim Jong Il and felt the invariable leadership of the President in his energetic leadership.
    Taking advantage of this opportunity, we pay highest respect to Kim Jong Il who is guiding the Korean revolution with his Songun leadership and express the belief that the Korean people will make steady progress in the struggle for the building of a great prosperous powerful socialist nation and the independent and peaceful reunification of the country.

U.S. Scheme of Naval Blockage Flailed

     Pyongyang, July 12 (KCNA) -- The Bush group of the United States, steeped to the marrow of its bone in dominationism and hostile feelings against the DPRK has invented a hundred and one leverages in its desperate efforts to realize its criminal designs. The Bush group abruptly came out with Regional Marine Security Initiative (RMSI) seeking naval blockade in the Strait of Malacca and other regions under the pretext of "anti-terrorism" at the recent meeting of defense officials of the Asian Regional Forum discussing the security problem of the Asia-Pacific region.
    In this regard Rodong Sinmun today says the so-called RMSI brought forward by the U.S. is intended to mislead and fool world opinion and it reveals the self-righteousness and unilateralism peculiar to it for gratifying its sinister interests by seizing control on global sea routes by trampling upon the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the regional countries.
    If it got clutches on the Strait of Malacca, an international sea route, the U.S. would be able to largely control worldwide trade transactions and, furthermore, have military and political influences on strategic vantages and many countries. Herein lies the chief aim of the U.S. in bringing forward what it calls RMSI, the news analyst notes, and continues:
    The main target of the U.S.-advocated RMSI is the DPRK. The United States is seeking to cut off and block economic and trade dealings between the DPRK and other countries and isolate and stifle the DPRK by seizing a military reign on the Strait of Malacca and controlling and restricting the navigation of the ships of various countries to the DPRK and DPRK ships through the strait.
    The United States is mistaken. The self-righteousness, arbitrariness and unilateralism of the U.S. work no more with the present world, but is rejected everywhere. The United States should give up the anachronistic scheme of naval blockade.

Kim Il Sung's Demise Anniversary Commemorated

     Pyongyang, July 12 (KCNA) -- Meetings to remember President Kim Il Sung, special lectures, lectures, DPRK photo exhibitions and film shows were held in Tajikistan, Britain, Germany, Bulgaria, Thailand, Denmark, Democratic Congo, Iran, Uganda, Kyrgyzstan, Peru, Malaysia, India, Indonesia and Equatorial Guinea and by the Secretariat of the Pan-African Movement from June 30 to July 4 on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of his demise. Shodi Shabdolov, chairman of the Communist Party of Tajikistan, in a speech at a meeting said Kim Il Sung was always among the people in the last decade even after he passed away, adding that the Korean people have followed him as they would do their fathers and are holding in high esteem leader Kim Jong Il, who is identical to the President, entrusting all their destinies to him.
    Maria Nikiforova, secretary general of the Bulgaria-Korea Friendship Association, in a speech at a meeting praised Kim Il Sung as the genuine popular leader and distinguished leader of the progressive people as he devoted all his life to the country and the people and the cause of global independence.
    The chairman of the National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea of Democratic Congo in a special lecture said that in the last decade the Korean people have made energetic efforts to thoroughly implement the last instructions of the President, adding that Kim Jong Il is the successor to his cause.
    Referring in detail to the fact that Kim Jong Il has successfully led the building of a great prosperous powerful socialist nation with his unique Songun politics, the chairman stressed that thanks to Kim Jong Il the history of the President will be everlasting.
    The general secretary of the Central Committee of the Peruvian Communist Party in a lecture titled "Exploits Performed by President Kim Il Sung for Human Cause of Independence" said that the President founded the guiding idea in the era of independence and set an example in the struggle for independence, stressing he always lives in the hearts of the world people for his immortal exploits performed for the human cause of independence.
    Chango Machyo, senior advisor to the presidency of Uganda, in his address at an opening ceremony of the week of photo exhibition highly praised the President as the great leader who is always remembered by the world progressives for his great contribution to the independence and development of Africa.
    Meanwhile, Niombi Tembo, chairman of the Kampala City Committee of the National Movement of Uganda, issued a statement on July 5 on the same occasion.
    In the statement he referred to the immortal exploits performed by the President for the Korean people and humankind. The Day of the Sun is significantly commemorated in many countries every year and the ranks of followers of the Juche idea are expanding as the days go by, he noted.

Rodong Sinmun Observes 110th Birth Anniversary of Kim Hyong Jik

     Pyongyang, July 12 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Monday dedicates one whole page to an editorial article reviewing the immortal exploits of Kim Hyong Jik, an indomitable revolutionary fighter, on the occasion of his 110th birth anniversary. Kim Hyong Jik was a peerlessly great man who was the first to set forth the idea of true nationalism in Korea, the editorial article says, and continues:
    He propounded the idea of "Aim High" and, basing himself on it, put forward the idea of true nationalism which would really save the country and the nation.
    The idea of "Aim High" is a revolutionary view of life for finding true worth of life and happiness in the struggle for the motherland and the nation and the indomitable revolutionary spirit that the liberation of the country must be won at any cost by fighting generation after generation, if necessary.
    The idea of true nationalism set forth by him is run through with the steadfast idea of liberation against the Japanese imperialists and of the building of a civilized country, the idea of national independence and unity and the idea of love and respect for the proletarian masses.
    By carrying on energetic activities for anti-Japanese education and enlightenment of the masses and for winning comrades, he trained core elements and laid a broad foundation among the masses and, on this basis, founded the Korean National Association in Pyongyang on March 23, Juche 6 (1917).
    The association put forward the theory of war for liberation as its main stratagem and the anti-Japanese armed struggle as its target.
    On this basis, Kim Hyong Jik proved the historical inevitability of the proletarian revolution at the Chongsudong meeting in July Juche 8 (1919) and formally declared the policy of turning the course of the Korean anti-Japanese national liberation movement from the nationalist movement to a proletarian revolution at the Kuandian meeting in August.
    He put heart and soul into rallying all the people and organizations of the liberation movement determined to fight the Japanese imperialists into one revolutionary force.
    He saw to it that the Koryo Revolutionary Party was formed as the only party capable of politically guiding all the anti-Japanese organizations and armed organizations.
    The revolutionary feats performed by Kim Hyong Jik are throwing ever brighter rays in this land of socialism generation after generation.
    President Kim Il Sung founded the immortal Juche idea by embodying the noble idea of "Aim High" and, on this basis, sublimated the idea of true nationalism and the cause of national independence of Kim Hyong Jik into the idea and cause of socialism of Juche and successfully carried forward and developed it.
    The immortal exploits of Kim Hyong Jik have been invariably carried forward and developed by leader Kim Jong Il to shine brighter.
    The idea and cause of genuine patriotism pioneered by Kim Hyong Jik and has been steadily carried forward and developed by Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il will always shine brilliantly in the history of the country and be everlasting along with the eternal prosperity of the Korean nation.

DPRK Military Delegation Leaves for China

     Pyongyang, July 12 (KCNA) -- A DPRK military delegation led by Vice-Marshal of the Korean People's Army Kim Il Chol, member of the DPRK National Defense Commission and minister of the People's Armed Forces, left here Monday to visit the People's Republic of China. It was seen off at the airport by Vice-Minister of the PAF Kim Sang Ik, KPA Colonel General Pak Sung Won, Lieutenant General Han Tong Gun, and Chinese Ambassador to the DPRK Wu Donghe and staff members of the military attaches office of his embassy.

Books Donated by Russia

     Pyongyang, July 12 (KCNA) -- Konstantin Borisovich Pulikovski, plenipotentiary representative of the president of the Russian Federation to Far East Federal District, donated books to children in the afflicted area of the accident at Ryongchon Railway Station. The books were conveyed to an official concerned by the Russian charge d'affaires in Pyongyang on July 12.

10th Reunion of Separated Families and Relatives Starts

     Mt. Kumgang resort, July 12 (KCNA) -- The 10th reunion of separated families and relatives started at Mt. Kumgang resort. Those from the north had a group reunion with their families and relatives from the south on Sunday under an agreement between the Red Cross organizations of the north and the south.
    As the reunion began, they hugged each other, overcome with joy.
    Separated families and relatives from the north side told their kin from the south side about the blessed, happy life they and their families have led under the care of the Workers' Party of Korea.
    The southerners were deeply moved to hear the stories told earnestly by Im Kwon Sun, a resident in Sinchon County, who had the honor of welcoming President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il to her work site, An Nam Ryong, a resident in Haeju, who is leading a worthwhile life as DPRK hero and winner of the National Reunification Prize, Prof. and Dr. Kim Tong Sin, teacher at Kim Chaek University of Technology and winner of Kim Il Sung Prize, and Prof. and Dr. Ri Sun Dok, researcher at the Grand People's Study House, who are so happy that the hopes and talents of themselves and their families are in full bloom under the deep care of the DPRK.
    The separated families and relatives from the north and the south evinced their will to put an end to the tragedy of national division at the earliest through national cooperation and devotedly work for the patriotic cause for the unity of Koreans and the reunification of the country.
    Those from the north side had family reunions with their kin from the south on Monday.
    Meanwhile, the Red Cross of south Korea hosted a reception for the separated families and relatives from the north and the south.

Centro Internacional de Comunicaciones de Rason

     Pyongyang, 12 de julio (ATCC) -- El Centro Internacional de Comunicaciones de Rason de Corea dedica gran fuerza a la labor para cubrir satisfactoriamente la creciente demanda de las comunicaciones nacionales e internacionales. Recientemente, el centro se conecto con la red de computacion nacional para ampliar gama de servicio de datos.
    Ahora, el centro instituyo directamente las redes de conexion con la Central Internacional de Comunicaciones, la Central Nacional de Informatica y Comunicacion del pais y con China y otros paises para prestar servicios de toda indole como la telefonia internacional, transmision de datos, Internet y telefono general.
    El centro, creado en el ano 84 (1995) de la Era Juche con una superficie arquitectonica total de 7mil ‡uasegura de forma completamente automatica a partir de septiembre de 1996 las comunicaciones con las redes nacionales e internacionales.
    Recientemente, el centro instituyo un buro de comunicacion de Sonbong, de 700‡u de area.
    El centro dispone de la pizarra automatica digital, SDH y otros aparatos sofisticados.

Choe Thae Bok envia telegrama de solidaridad a Ricardo Alarcon

     Pyongyang, 12 de julio (ATCC) -- Choe Thae Bok, presidente de la Asamblea Popular Suprema de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea envio un telegrama de solidaridad a Ricardo Alarcon de Quesada, presidente de la Asamblea Nacional del Poder Popular de la Republica de Cuba en relacion con que se han puesto en vigencia las nuevas medidas de sancion de la administracion Bush contra Cuba. El remitente expresa entero apoyo a la declaracion del primero de julio de la Asamblea Nacional del Poder Popular de Cuba y denuncia una vez mas energicamente las maniobras de bloqueo de EE.UU. encaminadas a aplastar la Revolucion Cubana.
    Subraya que con tales maniobras de sancion virulenta EE.UU. no podra impedir la vigorosa marcha hacia el socialismo del pueblo cubano aglutinado, con la firme fe en la victoria, en torno al estimado companero Fidel Castro Ruz y el partido.
