DPRK Delegate Supports Just Cause of Palestinians
Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- At the 10th UN emergency special meeting on the Palestinian issue on July 16, the DPRK delegate extended unquestioned solidarity to the Palestinian people in their just cause of regaining their legitimate national rights and to the Arab people in their struggle for a fair solution to the Middle East issue.
He said in his speech:
The advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice about the building of a wall by Israel in the occupied territory of Palestine is a victory of the Palestinian and other Arab peoples and the peoples of all countries supporting the cause of the Palestinians and a great encouragement to the Palestinians fighting to win their legitimate national rights.
The advisory opinion of ICJ is also a legal basis for a fair solution to the Palestinian issue.
So long as the Israeli occupation and oppressive policy continue, Mid-east peace cannot be expected any time. The point is that Israel, the occupation force, prudently accepts the advisory opinion and discharges its obligation under international law.
The countries deeply involved in the Palestinian issue must respect the opinion.
He further said:
Acts patronizing and encouraging Israel's violence by taking advantage of the privileged position in the Security Council must be stopped at once and the Security Council must recover the fairness and credibility of its work by making practical contributions to measures for ending the unlawful state incurred by the construction of the wall.
Righteous is the cause of the Palestinian and all other Arab peoples for retaking the lost territory, their human rights and right to self-determination.
South Korean Lawmakers Demand Apology from U.S
Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- 49 members of the National Assembly of south Korea presented a "resolution urging a stop to the Iraqi war" to the NA on July 16, according to the south Korean KBS.
In the resolution they held that the U.S. administration should stop the war at once and formally apologize to the south Korean government for providing it with false information as a report issued by the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee dismissed the Iraqi war as a wrong war.
There is no justification and justice for the U.S. to pressurize south Korea to dispatch its troops to Iraq on the basis of misinformation, they stressed.
Meanwhile, the All-People Action against the Troop Dispatch held a news conference in front of the building of the NA on July 17 in demand of the government's withdrawal of the decision on the troop dispatch, said the south Korean MBC.
Speakers at the conference declared the government's dispatch of troops to the U.S. war of aggression against Iraq as illegal, warning that if the government persists in the additional troop dispatch to Iraq a mammoth rally and demonstration would be held on July 24 in demand of a halt to the troop dispatch.
Ugandan Public Organizations Urge U.S. to Accept DPRK Proposal
Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) - The Uganda-DPRK Friendship Association, the Ugandan National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Ugandan Union of Railway Workers, the Ugandan National Youth Council and the Ugandan National Women's Council made public a joint statement on July 14 on the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War.
The basic factor of the victory in the Korean war lies in the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung, the statement said, and stressed:
The nuclear issue of the Korean peninsula is a product of the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK.
The statement strongly demanded that the U.S. withdraw its insistence on "giving up the nuclear program first" and accept the DPRK proposal for "reward for freeze", a measure of the first stage for the formula of a package settlement based on the principle of simultaneous actions.
It expressed the belief that under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il the Korean people would certainly triumph in the showdown with the U.S.
Remarks of Floor Leader of GNP under Fire
Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- Kim Tok Ryong, floor leader of the Grand National Party (GNP) of south Korea, talked rubbish about the firing incident caused by the south Korean navy in the West Sea a few days ago. He contended that it was confirmed "a patrol craft of the north side crossed the northern limit line" and that the north "told a lie." He cried that the government should sternly protest the "intrusion" and get "a promise to prevent its recurrence."
Rodong Sinmun in a signed commentary Thursday says:
It is intolerable that he dared take issue with the north, knowing nothing about the truth of the incident. This was an intentional provocation against the north which was committed undoubtedly with the encouragement of the military which does not want detente in the inter-Korean relations.
The so-called "intrusion" of a patrol craft of the north side which the south Korean army announced to the public a few days ago is a whopping lie and a thinly veiled fabrication. The north has already made its stand clear about this.
Improper is the behavior of the south Korean military in cooking up the incident, but still more disgusting and malicious is the manner of the GNP which, having no inkling of what had happened, chimed in with the anti-north campaign, as if a golden chance presented itself.
We know that the GNP can never give up its bad habits like the old saying that a crow can not be whiter for often washing.
The point is that the GNP has not yet sobered up, though it drank a bitter cup of defeat for its treacherous habit of desperately trying to find fault with the fellow countrymen in the north.
Kim Tok Ryong was, by origin, a trusted man acting the left hand of the dictator of the "civilian government." It is self-evident that nothing but treachery can be expected from him.
It is a tragedy that, however madly the riffraffs of the GNP like Kim Tok Ryong may run about, they cannot escape the wretched lot of their predecessors.
The time will surely come when accounts will be settled about the crimes of the GNP and its floor leader.
Kim Jong Il Sends Wild Honey to Pyongyang Maternity Hospital
Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il recently sent wild honey to the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital.
He has sent scores of tons of wild honey to the hospital on at least 30 occasions.
He sent modern medical appliances and medicines to the hospital and saw to it that women delivered of children, in particular, were provided with wild honey on a regular basis.
He sent there a large quantity of wild honey and rare tonics including bear hoof, deer's placenta paste, black hens and pine-nuts during the "arduous march" and the forced march when the country was hard pressed for everything. While giving field guidance to newly-built chicken farms, he took measures to supply eggs to the hospital on a regular basis.
In recent years the maternity hospital was additionally equipped with at least 1,200 pieces of latest type medical and managing equipment of more than 160 varieties including incubators, equipment monitoring serious cases, three dimensional abdomen supersonic wave diagnosing machines, medical oxygen generators. As a result, the hospital has turned into a modern comprehensive medical centre for women.
Reception Given by Cuban Ambassador
Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- A reception was given by Cuban Ambassador e. p. to the DPRK Esteban Lobaina Romero at the embassy on Wednesday on the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the attack on the Moncada barracks.
Present on invitation were Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Yong Jin, minister of Education who is chairman of the DPRK-Cuba Solidarity Committee, Mun Jae Chol, acting chairman of the Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, and other officials concerned.
The Cuban ambassador in a speech said that they highly appreciate the Party, the government and the people of the DPRK for sending messages of solidarity encouraging the Cuban people in their struggle and giving them the conviction of victory while strongly denouncing the United States for its sanctions against Cuba.
Noting that the Korean people are single-heartedly united around leader Kim Jong Il, he expressed the belief that if the imperialists dare invade the DPRK, they would be bitterly defeated by the Korean people.
The Korean people's efforts to reunify the country independently and peacefully and build a great prosperous powerful nation will certainly emerge victorious and enjoy support and solidarity from the government, the party and the people of Cuba, he said, and went on:
The friendly ties between the two countries, which are developing under the deep concern of Fidel Castro and Kim Jong Il, will be invincible and mutual support and solidarity between the brotherly peoples standing against the common enemy will be everlasting.
Secretary Choe Thae Bok in his speech said that the attack on the Moncada barracks made by the Cuban revolutionaries against the pro-U.S. dictatorial regime under the command of Fidel Castro Ruz 51 years ago was a historic event which kindled the first torch in the revolutionary struggle for the freedom and liberation of the Cuban people.
Since the victory in their revolution the Cuban people have valiantly smashed the U.S. imperialists' moves for aggression and blockade in the spirit of Moncada and reliably defended the sovereignty of the country and the gains of the revolution under the leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba, he noted, and continued:
We highly appreciate the Cuban party and government for dynamically pushing forward the socialist cause while decisively foiling the U.S. imperialists' ceaseless sanctions and blockade to obliterate the Cuban revolution and extend full support and firm solidarity to them.
The DPRK and Cuba are developing the friendly and cooperative relations based on the special comradeship between Kim Jong Il and Fidel Castro Ruz and the two peoples are sharing life and death in accomplishing their common cause for socialism against imperialism.
Dangerous Military Moves of U.S. under Fire
Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- It is reported that recently the United States succeeded in developing missiles capable of super-high speed underground penetration, which are targeted at the underground military facilities of the DPRK, and decided to deploy 6 missiles at units of its forces in south Korea by the end of 2005.
Rodong Sinmun Thursday in a signed commentary carried in this regard says:
These moves go to prove that the "landmark proposal" set forth by the U.S. at the six-party talks is nothing but a cheap offer intended to completely disarm the DPRK and seize it with ease.
The commentary goes on:
As the situation shows, the U.S. policy to stifle the DPRK with nukes remains unchanged and, on the contrary, it is becoming more crafty and vicious in its moves than ever before behind the curtain of the talks.
It is becoming clearer that the U.S. seeks to stifle the DPRK by force of arms at any cost, far from giving up its hostile policy towards the DPRK.
This situation compels the army and the people of the DPRK to get fully prepared to cope with its moves.
No one is entitled to take issue with this as it is the DPRK's right to self-defence to do so. The reality requires the army and the people of the DPRK to heighten the vigilance against the U.S. two-dealing tactics. The DPRK has no option but to employ every possible means to increase the self-defensive military power both in quality and quantity as the U.S. is stepping up its preparations for an actual war, developing even new type missiles capable of underground penetration and deploying them in south Korea in a bid to stifle the DPRK by force of arms.
The army and the people of the DPRK are fully determined to deal a thousand-fold retaliatory blow at the U.S. which forces a smile at the negotiating table and whets a sword for aggression to do harm to the dialogue partner behind the scene.
The U.S. is well advised to clearly understand the will of the army and the people of the DPRK and behave with discretion.

South Korean GNP's Anti-North Reckless Remarks under Fire
Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- The Secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland issued information bulletin No 876 on Wednesday accusing the floor leader of the Grand National Party of south Korea of making remarks malignantly slandering the north over what it called "intrusion" in the West Sea. It termed these utterances an unpardonable challenge and provocation to the north and an intolerable traitorous action swimming against the trend of the times toward reconciliation, unity and reunification.
The bulletin went on:
The GNP has widely publicized that it would redeem its wrong past and follow the spirit of the era. But this was nothing but a charade intended to mislead the public opinion and hide its traitorous and anti-reunification nature. This clearly proves that the true colours of the GNP as headquarters for sycophantic treacherous activities, anti-reunification and fascist actions remain unchanged.
Recalling that the GNP has been marginalized by history for acting against the desire of the people and the trend of the times, the bulletin warns that if it persists in the anti-north plot-breeding and confrontation, far from drawing a lesson from its miserable position, this will only precipitate its self-reduction.
The GNP should stop its anachronistic confrontation moves at once, bearing in mind that its anti-north false propaganda is no longer workable in the era after the publication of the June 15 declaration.
