President Kim Il Sung Lauded by Senior Chinese Official
Pyongyang, September 2 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung was not only the great leader of the Korean people but a close friend of the Chinese people.
Li Zhaozhuo, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference who is heading its delegation on a visit to the DPRK, said this when interviewed by KCNA. The Chinese people highly praised Kim Il Sung for his immortal exploits performed for the development of the friendly relations between China and the DPRK, he added.
Noting that their visit to the Kumsusan Memorial Palace afforded them an opportunity to deepen their veneration for the President, he said:
The President always lives in the hearts of the people.
The gifts on display at the International Friendship Exhibition clearly show how profoundly the progressive mankind revere Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.
The Sino-DPRK friendship provided by Kim Il Sung and the leaders of the elder generation of China is now growing stronger under the deep care of the leaders of the two countries, he noted, expressing firm belief that the traditional friendship would be evergreen and immortal.
U.S. Escalated War Moves Assailed
Pyongyang, September 2 (KCNA) -- The redeployment of U.S. forces in south Korea and the introduction of new type military equipment into south Korea fully reveal the aggressive design of the U.S. administration to mount a preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK and force south Koreans to shed blood for ignorant Bush. Alejandro Cao de Benos, chairman of the Association for Friendship with the Korean People, said this in a letter sent to the chief of the Pyongyang Mission of the National Democratic Front of South Korea on Aug. 12.
The south Korean people have long been deceived by the imperialists' propaganda that Korea's division is necessary for "security," the letter noted and continued:
But today they understand that the U.S. trumpeters are little different from the robbers aboard the U.S. armed pirate ship "General Sherman." The U.S. imperialists keep south Korea under their occupation to vandalize culture of Korea, plunder it of its resources and use young and middle aged Koreans as cannon fodder. This can never be tolerated any more.
We will never stop activities for solidarity with the Korean people till the last man of the U.S. aggressor troops has quit south Korea.
GNP's Stand on Probe into Truth about Past History under Fire
Pyongyang, September 2 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the National Democratic Front of south Korea issued a statement on Aug. 30 denouncing the row over "pro-north and pro-communism" kicked up by the Grand National Party (GNP), according to Kuguk Jonson Internet site.
The statement said: This row once again discloses the nature of the traitorous party steeped in the bad habit of confrontation. This is nothing but a criminal attempt to foil the probe into the truth behind the past history, stamp out what has been achieved by the movement for independence, democracy and reunification and bring back the old era of dictatorship.
The GNP far-fetchedly insisted that the issue of "pro-north and pro-communism" be included in the objects to be probed after reluctantly responding to the campaign for probing the truth behind the past history which enjoys full support and approval from people of all social strata.
The people from all walks of life in south Korea should positively struggle to probe the truth behind the past history in order to sternly condemn the crimes of the traitorous party and decisively frustrate the pro-U.S. right-wing forces just as they punished the GNP during the presidential election and the National Assembly election for going against the mind-set of the people.
For the present, they should brand the quislings of the Democratic Republican Party (DRP), the ancestor of the GNP, as the second group of traitors of 1905 as they received tens of millions of US dollars from Japan as a quid pro quo for signing the "south Korea-Japan agreement", a new fact disclosed these days.
They should lift their voices strongly demanding a thorough probe into the case and a severe punishment of them.

U.S. Rejected Worldwide
Pyongyang, September 2 (KCNA) -- The more desperately the U.S. imperialists resort to unilateralism and pursue the policy of military intervention and war, the stronger resentment and resistance they will meet from the world people and the earlier their decline and doom will come, warns Rodong Sinmun Thursday in a signed article.
Noting that the United States is now under fire in the military and economic fields as well as in the political field in all the regions and all countries of the world and it is rebuffed not only by the developing countries but by Western capitalist countries, the article goes on:
The world people who love justice and peace and aspire after independence, liberation and social progress are standing up against the U.S. imperialists' arms race and "anti-terrorism war" and strongly urging them to withdraw their aggressor troops from overseas and dismantle their military bases in other countries.
Noteworthy in the struggle against the U.S. imperialists' moves for aggression and war is that it is getting unprecedentedly fierce assuming massive nature.
Many more countries and peoples have joined in the anti-U.S. struggle since the U.S. imperialists launched an invasion against Iraq in disregard of international law and the United Nations in March last year.
What is also noteworthy in this struggle is that it is now going on in combination with the campaign against Bush's reassumption of office.
The world people are lifting their voices critical of the U.S. imperialists' policy of aggression and war as regards the nuclear issue between the DPRK and the U.S.
While paying lip-service to the settlement of the nuclear issue through the six-party talks the U.S. is frantically stepping up the preparations to mount a preemptive attack on the DPRK behind the curtain of dialogue. This is triggering off deep concern and resentment among the world people desirous of a peaceful solution to the nuclear issue and the peace and security on the Korean peninsula.
The U.S. imperialists are standing further isolated internationally than ever before. It is by no means a temporary phenomenon but an inevitable product of the policy of aggression pursued by the successive U.S. governments, particularly, the policy of unprecedentedly bellicose high-handed practices, unilateralism and hegemony frantically followed by the Bush administration.
Ours is the era of independence in which all the progressive people of the world are standing up against all sorts of domination and subjugation and many more countries are going in for independence. Even those capitalist countries, which once considered the U.S. as "protector," "savior" and "helper", are opposed to the U.S. control and subjugation and aspiring after autonomy and independence. The anti-U.S. sentiment prevailing throughout the world has become an irresistible trend of the present times.
Koguryo Tile Tomb Discovered
Pyongyang, September 2 (KCNA) -- A tile tomb belonging to Koguryo (B.C.277-A.D.668) has been discovered in Woldang-ri, Sinwon County, South Hwanghae Province, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
The tomb was found in the mid-slope of a mountain. The floor, walls and cover of the chamber were made with tiles.
The remaining part of the tomb is 52 centimeters long, 40 centimeters wide and 29 centimeters high. The width of the cover is 52.5 centimeters.
The color and raw materials of the tiles, 1.5 centimeters thick, are same with those of the red tiles used in construction in the period of Koguryo.
Yun Kwang Su, a researcher of the Archaeological Institute under the Academy of Social Sciences told KCNA that it was the first Koguryo tile tomb discovered in the country and it, therefore, was of great academic significance.
Stone tombs and stone-earth tombs belonging to Koguryo have already been discovered in the country.
The latest discovery is also indicative of the developed ceramic industry of Koguryo.

Schools Open in Ryongchon
Pyongyang, September 2 (KCNA) -- Ceremonies of opening Ryongchon Primary School and Ryongchon College of Agriculture in the DPRK took place on September 1 amidst the blessing of people.
These schools were most seriously destroyed when there was a sudden explosion of two wagons at Ryongchon Railway Station on April 22.
New buildings of these schools have been successfully built earlier than other objects in a matter of a little more than four months to receive students.
The modern four- and three-story buildings have appeared side by side hundreds of meters away east of the place where they had stood before. The first one has a floor space of nearly 5,000 square meters and the second one 3,000 square meters or almost double the size of the former buildings.
All classrooms are equipped with modern teaching aids and facilities.
When the calamity-stricken citizens were at a loss how to bring their living to normal and eradicate the aftermath of the disaster, the Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK government saw to it that lessons resumed at schools in three days after the accident and directed primary attention to constructing new school buildings and opening them.
The opening of the new school buildings is the fruition of leader Kim Jong Il's profound loving care for the rising generation and the correct educational policy pursued by the WPK and the DPRK government.
Among the pupils present at the ceremony were the two pupils, who had been seriously injured in the accident but miraculously survived at Kim Man Yu Hospital in Pyongyang, and their parents. They spoke in excited tone of the benevolent fatherly love shown by Kim Jong Il for them.
Teaching staff and students attending the ceremonies hardened their determination to make big achievements in education and study, cherishing deep in mind the trust reposed by the party and the state in the younger generation and the advantages of the socialist educational system. The ceremonies were followed by the first lessons.
