Kim Jong Il's Famous Work Published in Haiti

     Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il's famous work "Let Us Achieve the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of the Country through the Great Unity of the Entire Nation" was published in pamphlet by the Quality Plus Publishing House of Haiti on October 15. The work, brought out on April 18, Juche 87 (1998), clarifies the historic five-point policy for great national unity which serves as important guidelines for achieving the great unity of the Korean nation.
    This policy calls on all the Koreans to unite, improve the relations between the north and the south, struggle against foreign domination, interference and anti-reunification forces and promote contacts, dialogue and unity and solidarity on the principle of national independence under the banner of patriotism, the banner of national reunification.

DPRK Go Program Retains World Crown

     Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- The "KCC Paduk" (Korean Computer Center Paduk), a go program developed in the DPRK, won the top honor at the World Go Computer Championships held in Japan early in October to retain its world go computer championship. Competing in the championships were 13 world famous go program developing teams including those of the DPRK, the United States and Japan.
    Young scientists of the Samilpho Information Centre under the Korean Computer Centre presented a more advanced go program to the championships by making a deeper study of the total search type system and carrying it into technological realization, not remaining content with the title they captured in the championships last year.
    The matches took place in robin series, in which go programs were set against each other.
    The DPRK go program defeated all its adversaries by the overwhelming margin of nine wins in ten matches, thus emerging the winner and carrying away the cup and the diploma.
    The DPRK "KCC Paduk" emerged the winner at two Host Cup World Go Program Championships and at the World Go Computer Championships this year following last year. In these four successive wins it fully demonstrated its might as the "king" of the world go program circles and the world's strongest go program.

Seoul Foot March for Abolition of NSL Starts

     Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- The People's Solidarity for the Abolition of the "National Security Law" on October 25 reportedly held a ceremony for inaugurating the Seoul foot march group for the abolition of the NSL. The press release read out at the ceremony pointed out that the Uri Party was intending to retain the poisonous articles of the NSL by adopting it as its policy to replenish the criminal law. This does not truly mean the repeal of the NSL, it remarked, and added:
    The ruling party should not read the face of the conservative media and reconcile itself to the political offensive of the Grand National Party, but lend an ear to the cries of the people.
    After the ceremony the members of the march group started their foot march toward Mapho.

End to Discrimination against Korean Schools in Japan Demanded

     Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- The sixth seminar on education of Koreans in Japan took place in Tokyo on Oct. 23 under the co-sponsorship of the Japan Teachers' Union, the Union of Korean Teachers in Japan and the Japan-Korea Society for Scientific and Educational Interchange. A special report and a keynote report were made on the issue of the lot of Korean Primary School No.2 in Tokyo and the real state of affairs at Japanese universities at all levels on the examination of qualifications of Korean students to enter universities, evidence proving national discrimination against Korean schools.
    Then followed speeches.
    The reporters and speakers referred to the achievements and experience gained in the movement for an end to the discrimination against Korean schools in different parts of Japan and proposed future tasks.
    Referring to the difficulties before Korean schools, they stressed the need to set up societies for aiding Korean schools in different parts of Japan and demand the Japanese government and local autonomous authorities not discriminate against the Koreans in Japan but treat them in a friendly manner in accordance with the promise made by the prime minister of Japan at the DPRK-Japan summit.
    A message from the Korean Society for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries was introduced and a resolution demanding a definite end to the discrimination against the right to the national education and the normalization of the Japan-DPRK relations was adopted at the seminar.

1.44 Million People Visit King Tangun's Mausoleum

     Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- More than 1.44 million people including servicepersons of the Korean People's Army, working people of all walks of life and school youth and children visited King Tangun's Mausoleum over the last decade since it was rebuilt in the DPRK. King Tangun is the founding father of Kojoson (ancient Korea), the first state in Korean history.
    The mausoleum is situated on the ridge of a hill at the foot of Mt. Taebak in Munhung-ri, Kangdong County, Pyongyang City.
    The mausoleum covering an area of 45 hectares consists of the sections of the monument to the rebuilding of the mausoleum and stone human statues and the central section. It was rebuilt in a peculiar and grand style as befits the mausoleum of the founding father of the Korean nation in architectural point of view.
    Stone statues of the four sons of King Tangun and the subjects close to the king are standing on both sides of the stone steps leading up to the mausoleum of the central section and a stone table, a stone incense burner and stone sculptures of tigers are around the mausoleum on the platform.
    Erected at the four corners of the central section are four bronze dagger towers depicting the Pipha-shaped dagger, the symbolic weapon of Kojoson, and there are in the mausoleum room the remains of King Tangun and his wife and the king's portrait.
    Going round the section of the monument to the rebuilding of the mausoleum, the visitors deeply feel the patriotism of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il who found the founding father of the Korean nation and wisely guided the rebuilding of the mausoleum.
    Among the visitors were over 20,000 figures and people of all walks of life from south Korea, overseas compatriots and foreigners.
    South Koreans and overseas compatriots said in unison that the mausoleum was a national treasure pronounced in national character as it houses the remains of the king and has historical contents showing the developed cultur e and the political, economic and military might of Korea in the Tangun era.
    Foreigners from five continents including a FAO delegation and a delegation of the "Boat of Peace" of Japan, after going round the mausoleum, said with great admiration that it well represented the time-honored history, wisdom and spirit of the Korean nation.

DPRK Heroes Meet Veterans of Former CPV

     Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- A meeting between generals of the Korean People's Army Kim Thae Hwa and Kim Song Jin who are Heroes of the Republic and the members of the delegation of veterans of the former Chinese People's Volunteers took place at the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum Thursday. The Heroes of the Republic recalled with deep emotion that the armies and peoples of the two countries won a brilliant victory in the Fatherland Liberation War of the Korean people by fighting heroically shoulder to shoulder in one trench against the U.S. imperialist aggressors, the common enemy.
    They stated that the army and the people of the DPRK would in the future, too, fully display the stamina of heroic Korea, true to the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il.

Kim Jong Il Sends Modern Equipment to Pyongyang Maternity Hospital

     Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il sent modern equipment and a lot of materials for management to the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital as gifts. A ceremony took place on Oct. 28 to convey them to the hospital.

     Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- The revolutionary culture created by servicepersons in the DPRK is the culture representing the struggle, progress, optimism and joy that effloresced despite the most rigorous trials and the culture aimed to defend socialism as it frustrated the U.S. imperialists' moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK with the powerful gunroar of Songun.     The revolutionary culture created by servicepersons includes the best contents of the culture created by the working masses throughout a long history. It is the acme of culture aimed to fully realize the independent aspiration and desire of the working class.
    The above-said culture was created at a time when the revolutionary soldier spirit was highly displayed among the servicepersons of the Korean People's Army and the cultural standard and ideological world of the people got nobler and more beautiful on the pattern of the army.

U.S. Madcap Arms Buildup under Fire

     Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- The U.S. madcap arms buildup of an unprecedented scale now under way in south Korea under the pretext of the "cutdown of its troops" and their "relocation" is a dangerous military action which can be seen only on the eve of a nuclear war of aggression against the north, observes Rodong Sinmun Friday in a signed commentary. Aegis destroyers belonging to the U.S. 7th Fleet were recently deployed in the East Sea of Korea for an actual war which have already begun performing operational duties and one squadron of F-15E fighter bombers of the U.S. air force and other ultra-modern weapons and operational equipment were deployed in south Korea, the commentary notes, and goes on: This is a move to bolster its forces for aggression and a prelude to a new war of aggression against the north.
    The news analyst goes on:
    The U.S. is now busy creating an environment for provoking a nuclear war of aggression against the north and inventing a pretext to pressurize it while deliberately setting afloat the story about a crisis. This irrefutably testifies to the fact that the second Korean war which would bring a nuclear holocaust to the Korean nation is neither hypothesis nor an far-off event but imminent.
    The DPRK can never remain a passive onlooker to the U.S. and the south Korean warlike forces' reckless arms buildup intended to stifle the DPRK by force.
    It is its legitimate right to increase self-defensive deterrent force both in quality and quantity.

S. Korean Ultra-right Conservatives' Anti-DPRK Campaign Assailed

     Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland in an answer given to a question put by KCNA Thursday accused the ultra-right conservative forces in south Korea including the Grand National Party of becoming more desperate in their moves to stir up hostility toward the DPRK after the "North Korean Human Rights Act" took effect in the U.S.: No sooner had the Bush group effectuated the act in its bid to destabilize the DPRK and stoke confrontation between fellow countrymen in the north and the south of Korea than the GNP convened a meeting of executives of the party at which it actively supported the effectuation of the act in the U.S. It is now behaving as if it had been waiting for this event to take place, blustering that it would force the National Assembly to adopt a resolution urging the improvement of human rights performance in the north in step with the effectuation of the act.
    Those who are engrossed in their smear campaign to abduct "north Korean defectors" going under the mask of a "civilian organization" are now fighting a fierce dog-fight to receive more money from the U.S.
    Meanwhile, reckless remarks calling for taking a positive approach toward the human rights issue in the north, not keeping mum about it any longer are also heard from the south Korean authorities.
    The "North Korean Human Rights Act" is a provocative war act whose aim is to destabilize the north over the "issue of north Korean defectors", check the progress of the era that came to the Korean Peninsula after the publication of the June 15 joint declaration and incite confrontation and war between Koreans.
    Acting in accordance with this act is a total negation of the June 15 joint declaration as it leads to confrontation and war on the peninsula.
    The GNP is a group of hideous human rights abusers and fascist hooligans who are not entitled to talk about human rights as it has wantonly violated the elementary freedom and right of people on the strength of the evil "National Security Law" in south Korea holding the position of ruling political party for scores of years there. It is actually ludicrous for it to talk about the human rights issue of the north under such situation.
    The GNP and other pro-U.S. conservative elements had better apologize for the human rights abuses they have committed for the past scores of years and stop anti-DPRK smear campaigns before talking about the human rights issue of the north.
    Those who are engrossed in a dog-fight to receive a few dollars from the U.S. going under the signboard of a "civilian organization" are sure to be sternly punished for their act as they have conducted a smear anti-DPRK psychological operation while amassing what they called "north Korean defectors" and taking them to south Korea from a third country.
    The DPRK can not but take a serious note of the fact that the south Korean authorities are showing a tendency to chime in with the U.S. smear campaign over the "north Korean human rights issue."
    The south Korean authorities should clarify their stand of whether they would implement the June 15 joint declaration or bring the scourge of war to this land pursuant to the act.
    Only a miserable self-destruction awaits those who are supporting the U.S. in its moves for confrontation with the DPRK despite the fact that the U.S. is keen to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries and perpetrate aggression and war against them.

Afforestation Brisk in DPRK

     Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- An afforestation campaign is brisk throughout the Democratic People's Republic of Korea as part of the efforts for the eternal prosperity of the country and the happiness of generations to come. Forests of 100,000 hectares have appeared in the country every year.
    This year more than 90 million saplings of good species such as acacia, pine-nut, larch and evodia daniellii benn trees have been transplanted in 20,000 hectares in Jagang Province and forests of 19,000 hectares have come into being in North Phyongan Province.
    South Hamgyong Province has built forests for firewood in a far-sighted way.
    5,094 hectares of firewood forests have already appeared in the province.
    The nurseries of 10 hectares in Nampho City, South Phyongan Province have produced millions of saplings each year.
    The members of the National Shock Brigade of Party Information Officials have built nurseries in different places of the Mt. Paektu area and transplanted two million saplings over the last four years.
    There are many unassuming patriots who have tended forests for scores of years with a strong sense of obligation as civilian.
    Typical of them are Kong Sun Nyo and her family in Kangryong County, South Hwanghae Province. They have planted 43,000 trees of ten-odd species in their native place over the last decade from the days of the "Arduous March".

KCNA Issues Indictment

     Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- KCNA issued a lengthy indictment on Oct. 28 in which it termed the United States the most cruel and despicable "empire of evil" and laid bare its bestial nature and miserable fate during the four years of the Bush administration in office. It branded "Bush doctrine" on which the present policy of the Bush administration is based as the most dangerous trend of imperialism in the present times as it aims to build a world dominated by an empire, an empire lording it over the world, by aggression, plunder, the use of force and high-handed practices.
    The document dealt with the motive of the advocacy of "Bush doctrine," new trend of imperialism, and how it was adopted as a policy.
    It continued:
    Bush advocated "American-style internationalism" which calls for demonstrating to the world its strength and authority as a diplomatic doctrine of the new administration in February 2001. Then followed the emergence of such brigandish logic based on "strength-all mighty theory" and unilateralism allegedly reflecting the "peculiarities of the U.S." "Bush doctrine" formally appeared as a new trend of imperialism in the wake of the "September 11 incident."
    Right after the incident Bush became so impudent as to urge all the regions and countries either to side with the U.S. or stand by terrorism. His outcry became a basis of "Bush theory," a theory of war which listed not only individual groups but sovereign states as targets of "anti-terrorism war."
    In line with this theory the Bush administration designated imaginary "enemy" called "terrorist" and declared to the world unilateral criteria to discriminate between friend and foe by the logic you will be my enemy if you don't support me and to retaliate against him.
    In 2002 the Bush group worked hard to formally adopt the new trend of imperialism as its policy as evidenced by the fact that the theory of "axis of evil" was spelled out at the end of January and there emerged in June of the same year "theory of preemptive attack" "Bush doctrine" being its core.
    These were adopted as a state policy and strategy.
    The "theory of preemptive attack" and "Bush doctrine" based on it are the worst theory of aggression and the most dangerous trend of imperialism in the history of the preceding empires.
    The imperialistic nature of Bush doctrine and its gravity are unthinkable apart from neo-conservatism. Bush doctrine is the other side of neo-conservatism and its development because it is a brainchild of the despicable political hooligans who took the lead in the movement for fascistization against communism in the U.S. in the past.
    The neo-conservatives' dominationist view on the world that what the U.S. does is all right and strength only represents justice, a megalomaniac idea of preaching a jungle law, was enunciated by neo-conservative forces of the Bush administration as Bush doctrine and this served as an ideological basis of the "empire of evil".
    The Bush group retrieved such conceptions of world domination by the U.S. as "Pax Americana" (conception of U.S.-led peace) and the theory of "bankrupt state" from the dumping ground of history to use them as a leverage to support Bush doctrine.
    Arrogance, aggressive nature, cruelty and wickedness are characteristic of the "empire of evil," the nature of "Bush doctrine."
    The "war against terrorism" desperately fought by the Bush administration during its term was based on Bush doctrine, a contemporary trend of imperialism, the indictment said, disclosing the crimes committed by the U.S. under the pretext of combating terrorism. It went on:
    The September 11 incident and the "war on terrorism" waged by Bush group in its wake is a continuation of the plot-breeding operation conducted by empires in the past to realize their wild ambitions. The Bush group is little different from the rulers of the erstwhile empires in war hysteria.
    The U.S. "anti-terrorist war" is precisely the other side of brigandish state-sponsored terrorism and the slogan of "anti-terrorism" put up by the Bush group is nothing but a fig-leaf to cover up its state-sponsored terrorism.
    The number of cases of terrorism of various forms that occurred worldwide in 2003 alone when the U.S. "war against terrorism" raged most furiously totaled 3,213, an all-time high. The vicious cycle of terror and retaliation is a product of "Bush doctrine" and his group can never evade responsibility for them.
    The indictment cited the most hideous and monstrous abuse of POWs perpetrated by GIs in Iraq, Afghanistan and other countries and regions in an organized and premeditated way in the course of "combating terrorism" as evidence proving that the U.S. is the worst human rights violator and a rogue regime.
    Recalling that the Bush administration formally declared its withdrawal from the ABM Treaty, an obstacle to its establishment of the missile defense system, and deliberately reduced "Kyoto Protocol" to a dead document, thus overturning the international legal mechanism, the indictment went on: This hooliganism can be perpetrated only by the "empire of evil."
    Moreover, the Bush administration has persistently refused to sign the CTBT, thus fully betraying its true colours as the arch criminal proliferating weapons of mass destruction.
    The Bush forces have attained their main goal of throwing a dense network of their military bases all over the world through their "anti-terrorism war." At present the U.S. has 702 bases in nearly 130 countries and more than 6,000 military bases in its mainland and the territories under its domination.
    All the crimes committed by the "empire of evil" while fighting "anti-terrorism war" are unpardonable and indelible as they have brought horrible disasters to humankind.
    Conservative politicians and reptile media in the U.S. are becoming very zealous in their efforts to paint the U.S. as a "new empire" but the world once again teaches the historical lesson that the days of the empire are numbered.
    It is as clear as noonday that the "empire of evil," the "American empire" is destined to go to ruin just as the Nazi empire of Hitler did, the indictment observed, citing fair world public opinion proving the truth.
    It continued:
    Imperialism is the filth of history as it has lived out its days. It is a miscalculation and a fantastic daydream for the Bush group to revive the era of the outrageous and arrogant empire, swimming against the trend of the times.
    The world will no longer remain an onlooker to the arbitrary and reckless moves of the "empire of evil" to disturb peace and human civilization but mete out a stern judgment to it.
    The U.S. conservative hard-liners would be well advised to bear this in mind and stop acting rashly.

Programa de Paduk de Corea vuelve a ocupar primer lugar

    Los jovenes cientificos del Centro de Informatica Samilpho bajo la egida del Centro de Computacion de Corea, a base de los exitos logrados en el certamen de desafiadores del ano pasado, profundizaron el estudio sobre el sistema de rebusca completa y lo efectuaron tecnicamente para presentar el programa de paduk mas desarrollado en el presente certamen.
    El partido se efectuo en forma de torneo de todos contra todos.
    El programa de paduk de la RPDC salio victorioso con un tanteo de 9 victorias en 10 partidos y recibio la copa y diploma.
    "KCCpaduk" de la RPDC gano dos veces en el Campeonato Mundial de Programas de Paduk por la Copa Fost y ocupo el primer lugar al igual que el ano pasado en la Competencia Mundial de Desafiadores de Paduk por Computacion. Al lograr asi 4 victorias sucesivas se hizo el "rey" de programa mundial de paduk por computacion.
