Film Show Held at DPRK Embassy in Havana

     Pyongyang, November 5 (KCNA) -- A film show took place at the DPRK embassy in Havana on Oct. 29 on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's famous work "Answers to Questions Raised by the General Director of Granma, the Organ of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba". Korean film "Brilliant History of Great Leadership" was screened at the film show.
    After watching it, Franck Aguero Gomes, general director of Granma, noted that Kim Jong Il set out the Songun idea to cope with the grave situation where the U.S. imperialists' moves against the DPRK are getting more undisguised, adding that the DPRK has achieved shining successes in the revolution and construction thanks to his Songun leadership.
    Ilda Vasallo, coordinator for Asia of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, said that the work is still displaying its great vitality though 15 years have passed since its publication.
    The DPRK is holding the initiative in the showdown with the U.S. under the wise steersmanship of Kim Jong Il, she noted, adding that Cuba has positively supported the Korean people in their anti-U.S. struggle.

Production of Scientific and Educational Films Brisk

     Pyongyang, November 5 (KCNA) --The production of scientific and educational films is brisk in the DPRK to widely disseminate scientific and technological knowledge among its working people and school youth and children. Over the last three decades since leader Kim Jong Il clearly indicated the main tasks before the creators of scientific and educational films on Nov. 6, Juche 63 (1974) they have produced a lot of films that extensively and profoundly deal with various fields of the national economy, ultra-modern science and technology and education, public health and culture.
    Among them are several films introducing the technology and methods of cultivating Kimilsungia and Kimjongilia and scientific films greatly helpful to production and construction such as "Method of Cutting Coal with the Help of Bundles of Props," "Direct Production of Steel Plate with Molten Iron", "Slag from Thermal Power Plant Is Good Fuel" and "Plastic Pipe Made from Graphite Chloride".
    The new films include dozens of scientific and technological films helpful to the implementation of the policies of the Workers' Party of Korea on the agricultural revolution and the light industrial revolution and those films introducing ultra-modern science and technology such as "IT-based Motorway" and "Cermet Coated Tools" and films which greatly help working people in their study of science and technology and in their production activities such as "Common Scientific Knowledge" and "Common Agricultural Knowledge".
    There are also films dealing with the brilliant tradition of the Korean nation and instilling the Korean nation-first spirit into the working people and school youth and children such as "Korea Shining with Time-honored History" and "King Tangun's Mausoleum" and films conducive to the promotion of people's health such as "Selenium and Health" and "Fluorine".

Sanctuary in Mt. Kuwol Registered as International Sanctuary

     Pyongyang, November 5 (KCNA) -- The sanctuary in Mt. Kuwol in South Hwanghae Province of the DPRK was registered as an international sanctuary according to the decision of the 18th meeting of the International Coordinating Council for Man and Biosphere Programme of the UNESCO held in Paris on October 29. This was the second decision made by the UNESCO. The special sanctuary in the Revolutionary Battle Sites in Mt. Paektu, the most famous mountain in Korea, was registered as an international sanctuary in Juche 78 (1989).
    The latest decision of the UNESCO made it possible to conduct the work to protect the bio-diversity including the ecosystem and species of animals and plants in this area under the international care.
    The sanctuary in Mt. Kuwol includes Mt. Kuwol, one of the six famous mountains in Korea, an agricultural area and a seasonal bird sanctuary in Unryul close to the mountain.
    The sanctuary in Mt. Kuwol is widely known for its spectacular scenery, rich flora and fauna and fantastic landscape.
    There are in the mountain many historical and cultural relics listed as national treasures as they reflect the resourcefulness and talents of the ancestors.
    The sanctuary has turned more attractive in the era of Songun.
    The area of Mt. Kuwol with peculiar ecological environment has been built into a good ground for cultural recreation of the people, a site for mountaineering and a centre for scientific study according to the far-reaching plan of leader Kim Jong Il to build well the beauty spots of the country including its mountains, rivers and waterfalls and hand them to posterity.

Fighting Calls for Complete Abolition of NSL Set Forth in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, November 5 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Solidarity of Youth and Students for Implementing the June 15 South-North Joint Declaration on October 28 reportedly set forth immediate fighting calls for the complete abolition of the "National Security Law". The calls urged the repeal of the NSL, an obstacle to independent reunification based on the June 15 declaration and a spoke in the wheel of the development of inter-Korean relations, and achievement of national cooperation.
    Castigating the Grand National Party for working to defend the NSL with outcries over "political color", the calls said the failure to tear up the law would allow the revival of pro-American conservatism and fascist dictatorship.
    Demanding the Uri Party withdraw its hypocritical motion on replenishing the criminal law, the calls appealed to all people to turn out in the struggle for the complete abolition of the NSL.

Comradeship, Eternal Impelling Force of Korean Revolution

     Pyongyang, November 5 (KCNA) -- The revolutionary comradeship is a noble spiritual post symbolic of the history of the start and progress of the Korean revolution and an imperishable ever-victorious treasured sword, declares Rodong Sinmun Friday in a signed article. The Korean army and people will advance along the road of the Songun revolution, closely united around the headquarters of the revolution in comradeship, no matter how much water may flow under the bridge and how many generations may be alternated, the article says, and goes on:
    Embarking upon the road of the revolution, President Kim Il Sung, first of all, acquired comrades by showing love and reposing trust in them and then obtained weapons. He pioneered the revolutionary cause of Juche by rallying comrades. The noble tradition of comradeship of the Korean revolution has been successfully carried forward by leader Kim Jong Il.
    Revolutionary comradeship is the basis of the Korean people's unbreakable unity in mind, the motive force of creation and innovation and the lifeline of the uninterrupted revolution.
    The noble comradely love and trust between the President and the anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters in the period when the Korean revolution was pioneered is an example of comradeship to be invariably carried forward generation after generation.
    It is Kim Jong Il's unshakable faith to carry the Korean revolution to completion by comradeship, the revolution that was pioneered by comradeship.
    The revolutionary comradeship gives a strong impetus to the Songun revolution today. The People's Army has grown to be an invincible army which has formed one entity of comradeship with the headquarters of the revolution under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il.
    The driving force of the revolution in the Songun era is an integral whole of the leader, the party, the army and the people. It is an important guarantee for the victory of the revolutionary cause of Songun for all the army and people to closely unite in idea and will around the party and the leader and become comrades sharing the same destiny.
    The army and people of the DPRK are united ever closer around the headquarters of the revolution today as one single-hearted body under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il.
    They are sure to advance along the road of Songun, the road they have to traverse, rain or snow, as eternal comrades of Kim Jong Il and achieve the ultimate victory of the revolutionary cause of Juche with the might of comradeship.

S. Korean Authorities' Anti-National Crimes under Fire

     Pyongyang, November 5 (KCNA) -- Mean and despicable acts of the south Korean authorities in whetting swords behind the scene with hostile feelings while wearing smiles on their faces have driven the favorably developing inter-Korean relations to a grave phase and given rise to an abnormal situation in which the implementation of the June 15 joint declaration has run into troubles, states Rodong Sinmun Friday in a signed article. Recalling that the south Korean authorities worked out an "emergency plan" to cope with someone's "rapidly changing state of affairs" and has all along renewed it, the article says:
    It is obviously an open perfidy to the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration that they are watching for a chance, while whetting the sword, to slay the fellow countrymen with whom they should advance along the road of independent reunification hand in hand, reconciled and united.
    The present "government for people" of south Korea has since its inception committed such criminal acts as throwing a wet blanket over the reconciliation, unity and fervor of reunification of the nation and creating grave difficulties in the inter-Korean relations.
    An abnormal situation prevailed in south Korea last year as evidenced by the fact that righteous-minded people who had contributed to the arrangement of the historic Pyongyang meeting were taken to prisons one after another and meted out severe punishment.
    This year, too, the south Korean authorities have perpetrated undisguised acts of barring the implementation of the June 15 joint declaration and damaging the inter-Korean relations.
    The Pyongyang visit of a south Korean non-governmental delegation for participating in the memorial services on the 10th anniversary of the demise of President Kim Il Sung was blocked by the entirely unjustifiable act of the south Korean authorities.
    They officially announced the "stand of the government" that the South Headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification and the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification and the (south) Korean Federation of University Student Councils could not be allowed to participate in reunification functions in the north under the "National Security Law." This anti-national, anti-reunification act drove to a collapse even the August 15 function for reunification that had been scheduled as a nation-wide event.
    If the south Korean authorities have the will for national reconciliation and cooperation and the slightest stand and stance to implement the June 15 joint declaration, they should make an apology to the whole nation for all their anti-national and anti-reunification acts including the folly of the nonsensical "emergency plan" and show their will for reunification in practice.

RS on S. Korean Authorities' Plan to Prolong Stay of Troops in Iraq

     Pyongyang, November 5 (KCNA) -- The south Korean authorities at the "State Council" some time ago confirmed their plan to prolong the stay of the Jaitun unit in Iraq one year. Commenting on this, a Rodong Sinmun analyst Friday terms this another crime in the wake of their troop dispatch to Iraq.
    This is despicable pro-U.S. submission and unpardonable treachery doing harm to the dignity and interests of the nation for the aggressive interests of the United States while currying favor with and blindly following it, says the news analyst.
    Drawing attention to the fact that the south Korean "Ministry of National Defense" is going to submit to the "National Assembly" in mid-November the "bill" on extending the period of the stay of the Jaitun unit in Iraq, which expires at the end of this year, to the end of 2005, saying it would "invariably seek the purpose of troop dispatch" despite "trifling sacrifice," he goes on:
    The south Korean authorities' talk about "trifling sacrifice" means, in the final analysis, that the south Korean young people cannot evade sacrifice for the U.S. and their vow to "seek the purpose of troop dispatch" means that they should shed blood to strengthen "alliance" and "cooperation" with the U.S.
    Standing behind the south Korean authorities' scheme to extend the period of the stay of the troops in Iraq is the U.S., the empire of evil. After leaving south Korea heavily in debt to it by putting off "the cutback" of its forces and patronizing and pleading for south Korea's secret nuclear experiments, the U.S. pressurized the south Korean authorities in every way to extend the period of the stay of the troops in Iraq, threatening that, otherwise, south Korea-U.S. relations would be hurt. Only the road of treachery is open to those who play into the hands of the outside forces, seeking flunkeyism and dependence on them.
    The south Korean authorities should not extend the period of the stay of the troops in Iraq but withdraw those disgraceful troops right away.

Korea's First Female Pro-Boxing Champion Interviewed

     Pyongyang, November 5 (KCNA) -- Kim Kwang Ok returned home recently after winning the world pro-boxing championship in the IFBA Bntam category (53.52 kg) held in Shenyang, China. She knocked out her Japanese opponent and became the first pro-boxing champion of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. In an interview with KCNA, Kim said that she could win the championship by fighting with the grit and courage shown by leader Kim Jong Il, who was defending the fatherland and the destiny of the people with his Songun-based politics.
    It was in Juche 85 (1996) when I started the career of boxer, she said, and continued:
    It was my wish to become a boxing champion and delight the leader, who was spending day and night for the Songun-based revolutionary leadership.
    I also resolved to demonstrate to the world the faith and will of the Korean people, who, closely rallied around the leader, have turned out in the efforts to build a great prosperous powerful nation, overcoming all the difficulties optimistically. Whenever I felt tired, I made redoubled efforts with this resolution.
    According to chief coach Kim Song Nam, she was born into a worker's family in Hungnam City, South Hamgyong Province as the only daughter. She was always simple and modest and had excellent school records. This made her enjoy love of people. She is quiet, ardent and aggressive.
    She garnered a gold medal in the 52-kg category of the Second Asian Women Boxing Championships held in India last year and distinguished herself in various local and international tournaments.

"Song of Eight Views in Songun Era" Created

     Pyongyang, November 5 (KCNA) -- "Song of Eight Views in Songun Era" was written by Sin Un Ho and composed by Ri Kwang O in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Every stanza of the song about the eye-opening views of Korea in the Songun era is full of the spirit of the era and optimistic feelings.
    The words reflect well the tremendous changes which have taken place across the country under Kim Jong Il's leadership based on Songun politics.
    The pentachord song is easy to sing.
    It consists of eight stanzas.
    The first stanza eulogizes the sunrise over Mt. Paektu seen from Janggun Peak, which is marked with footsteps of llustrious commander Kim Jong Il.
    The second and third sing of the snow-clad military post covered with young pine trees and royal azaleas on Chol Pass associated with feats of Kim Jong Il, who is carrying forward the tradition of giving importance to military established by President Kim Il Sung.
    Depicted in the fourth, fifth and sixth are the brightly-lit night view of the River Jangja flowing through Jagang Province, Ulrim Waterfalls and rezoned Handre Plain.
    A sea of potato flowers on Paektu Plain in Taehongdan and a beautiful view of Poman-ri are lauded in the 7th and 8th stanzas.
    The song is a masterpiece of particular note in the history of national music.

UNESCO registra zona de proteccion natural de monte Kuwol

     Pyongyang, 5 de noviembre (ATCC) -- A tenor de la resolucion aprobada en la 18a reunion del Consejo Internacional de Coordinacion del programa del ser humano y la biosfera sujeto a la Organizacion de las Naciones Unidas para la Educacion, la Ciencia y la Cultura (UNESCO), sesionada el 29 de octubre en Paris, fue registrada la zona de proteccion natural del monte Kuwol en la provincia de Hwanghae del Sur de Corea en calidad de franja de proteccion de la biosfera internacional. Esto deviene el segundo registro antecedido por la zona de proteccion especial de los lugares revolucionarios de combate en el monte Paektu, el mas famoso en Corea, que fue catalogada en el 78 (1989) de la Era Juche.
    Gracias al reciente registro, se desarrollara bajo la atencion internacional la labor para proteger la ecologia, la flora, la fauna y la biodiversidad de esta region.
    La zona catalogada recientemente por la UNESCO abarca el monte Kuwol, uno de los 6 montes mas famosos de Corea, sus areas perifericas de produccion agricola y la franja de proteccion de aves migratorias de Unryul.
    Alli se puede disfrutar de un panorama natural muy peculiar y pintoresco y hay abundantes recursos de la flora y la fauna.
    Ademas, se hallan muchas reliquias historico-culturales de valor de patrimonio nacional que reflejan fielmente la inteligencia y los talentos de los antepasados coreanos.
    Esta zona fue acondicionada mas magnificamente en la epoca del Songun (priorizacion militar).

Declaracion de Kim Kwang Ok a ATCC

     Pyongyang, 5 de noviembre (ATCC) -- Regreso a la patria la primera reina coreana del pugilismo profesional Kim Kwang Ok. Como ya trascendidos, la pugilista se corono campeona mundial tras noquear a una japonesa en la pelea por el titulo mundial de la categoria gallo (53.52kg) de la Asociacion Internacional de Boxeo Femenino (IFBA por sus siglas en ingles) que tuvo lugar en Shenyang, China.
    En sus declaraciones a un reportero de la Agencia Telegrafica Central de Corea (ATCC), la primera campeona de Corea del Songun (priorizacion militar) en este tipo de deporte dijo que la audacia y el fuerte temperamento, que inspiro en nosotros deportistas el Dirigente Kim Jong Il quien defiende el destino de la patria y el pueblo con la politica de Songun, devinieron una fuente de energias que la llevaron a lo mas alto del podio, y prosiguio:
    Comence a practicar el boxeo desde el 85 (1996) de la Era Juche cuando el pais atravesaba indecibles dificultades economicas.
    Por lo tanto, el Dirigente no daba tregua de dia a noche a su direccion sobre la revolucion mediante el Songun.
    Entonces, llegue a abrigar un modesto deseo de convertirme en una fuerte pugilista con titulos mundiales para dar alegrias al Dirigente.
    Al mismo tiempo, quise ostentar ante todo el mundo la conviccion y la voluntad de los coreanos de la epoca del Songun que impulsan vigorosamente la construccion de una gran potencia prospera, uniendose monoliticamente en torno al Dirigente y superando sonrientes las dificultades.

    Segun su entrenador responsable Kim Song Nam, la campeona nacio en la ciudad de Hungnam de la provincia de Hamgyong del Sur como unica hija de una familia obrera comun.
    Llevaba una vida muy sencilla y modesta y ganaba notas sobresalientes en el estudio, razones por las cuales era querida por todos los vecinos. Aparte de ser callada y apasionada, se caracteriza por la gran obstinacion porque siempre cumple hasta el final todo lo que se propone.
    Se impuso campeona de la categoria de 52kg en el 2o Campeonato Asiatico de Boxeo Femenino que tuvo lugar el ano pasado en la India y desperto la atencion de los especialistas en esta disciplina con sus excelentes actuaciones en varias competencias nacionales e internacionales.

Acto desafiante a Declaracion conjunta del 15 de Junio

     Pyongyang, 5 de noviembre (ATCC) -- Debido al sucio procedimiento de las autoridades surcoreanas que de cara a cara esbozan una sonrisa y ya de espaldas se muestran hostiles y preparan armas para atacar a sus connacionales, hoy dia, las relaciones Norte-Sur, que se desarrollaban favorablemente, han afrontado una coyuntura muy critica y se crea una situacion anormal que trajo el estancamiento de la ejecucion de la Declaracion Conjunta del 15 de Junio. Senala asi el diario Rodong Sinmun en un articulo insertado en su edicion del dia 5 y prosigue:
    En estos tiempos, las autoridades surcoreanas trazaron un "plan de emergencia" para hacer frente a un "eventual cambio brusco de la situacion" de alguna parte -en clara alusion al Norte- y lo renovaron constantemente. La preparacion de armas acechando una oportunidad para atacar a sus compatriotas, con quienes deben reconciliarse y unirse para lograr la reunificacion independiente, deviene una traicion evidente a dicha declaracion.
    Desde el primer momento de su aparicion, el actual "gobierno de participacion popular" del Sur de Corea enrarecio el ambiente a favor de la reconciliacion, la unidad y la reunificacion de la nacion coreana e interpuso escollos artificiales en el desarrollo de las relaciones inter-coreanas.
    El ano pasado, fueron encarceladas una tras otra las personas justicieras, que contribuyeron a preparar el historico encuentro cumbre de Pyongyang, y luego, sancionadas a duras penas.
    Tambien el ano en curso, las autoridades surcoreanas perpetraron abiertamente acciones que frenan el cumplimiento de dicha declaracion y rompen las relaciones entre el Norte y el Sur de Corea.
    Por este injusto proceder la delegacion no gubernamental surcoreana no pudo venir a Pyongyang para participar en un acto de recordacion del Presidente Kim Il Sung con motivo del 10 aniversario de su fallecimiento.
    Ademas, en virtud de la "ley de seguridad", las autoridades surcoreanas anunciaron la "posicion oficial del gobierno" de no permitir la participacion de las Direcciones Surenas de la Alianza Pannacional por la Reunificacion de la Patria y de la Alianza Pannacional de Jovenes y Estudiantes por la Reunificacion de la Patria y la Federacion de Consejos Generales de Estudiantes Universitarios del Sur de Corea en las actividades para la reunificacion a celebrarse en el Norte de Corea. De esta forma, abortaron los actos del 15 de agosto por la reunificacion que debieron celebrarse este ano en ambito pannacional.
    Si ellas tienen, aunque sea en lo minimo, la voluntad de lograr la reconciliacion y cooperacion nacionales y de ejecutar la citada declaracion, deben pedir disculpa a toda la nacion coreana por la jugada del delirante "plan de emergencia" y otros actos cometidos hasta la fecha en detrimento de la nacion y la reunificacion y demostrar con hechos practicos su determinacion de lograr la reintegracion nacional.
